Chapter 107: Distance
Kagome packed up the tent and folded away the sleeping bags. She poured the remaining bottled water she had over the dead fire, then kicked dirt over it to make sure she wasn't the cause of a forest fire. Placing her trustly yellow backpack on her back, she walked over to Sesshoumaru.
"Are you ready to go home?"
Sesshoumaru didn't respond. He hadn't even looked at her since she apologized. ~Maybe he is still angry at me?~ Kagome considered the possibility for a moment. Sesshoumaru stood, in one fluid motion, her only indication that he had even heard her speak to him. She turned, and set off in the direction of home.
Their home.
At least for now.
The walk was quiet. She had to turn around several times to check if Sesshoumaru was following her. He walked so silently. He maintained a small, respectable distance from her.
As she neared the apartment, sounds filled her ears.
~Wait... somethings wrong. It is much louder than it usually is around here, I hear several voices. What are all the voices talking about? Are the neighbors fighting?~
"They think I kidnapped you and you are dead."
