I do not own Naruto Shippuden or any of the characters. I don't know if Fu was ever actually able to do the stinger thing but I needed an attack and ran out of ideas.
Mirror Image
"What the..." Naruto mumbled eyes the size of dinner plates, much like the others as a second Naruto with black sclerae and red irises stepped out of the waterfall grinning wickedly at Naruto who scrambled to his feet taking a step backward.
"Why don't you just do it already?" the second Naruto questioned voice identical to Naruto's yet at the same time much darker. "Why don't you just kill them all? They only like you because you stopped Pein. They never really liked you and you know it. None of them did. Even the bitch. Why don't you just get it over with and find someone that actually matters?"
"What did you say?" Naruto growled.
"Alright then how about this?" the second Naruto questioned as a half-ethereal, pitch-black broad sword appeared in a dark flash, hovering over the second Naruto's shoulder before shooting at Hinata in a black streak.
Just as it neared her, a second, Gelel-green sword matching the first crashed into it, both shattering like glass. Everyone stared at the spot the two swords had met before turning to Naruto who was now standing between the other him and Hinata.
"Really?" the second Naruto snickers. "You'd fight yourself to protect her? You still haven't even mentioned the Uzumaki lifespan and we both know you're only with her for-"
He was cut off by being forced to drop to the ground catching himself with one hand the other holding his Sword of Kusanagi in reverse grip over his back as a green blade shot over him, shattering against the waterfall.
"I see," the second Naruto growled standing and putting the blade away, grinning. "Alright then. Let's play."
"I don't know what you are," Naruto growled as a pair of swords appeared over his shoulders hovering in the air pointed at the second Naruto. "But I'm going to kill you. I have no need of a rip off."
"Rip off," the second Naruto snorted. "I'm the true Naruto. You're my rip off."
Naruto fired the two swords at the second Naruto but a single black sword appeared in the second Naruto's hand which he used to block both of the others, his sword withstanding the impacts while both of Naruto's shattered.
"What jutsu is that?" Yamato breathed.
"That guy, Dark Naruto, what did he mean the Uzumaki lifespan?" Fu questioned.
"Not my place to say," Yamato stated.
Naruto fired a dozen spectral blades at Dark Naruto in rapid succession and Dark Naruto avoided them, stopping on the face of the waterfall.
"Impressive," Dark Naruto sneered. "But not good enough. I'm you. You can't beat yourself."
"We'll see," Naruto growled holding his hand out as a blade formed in it.
The blades were identical, except in color. They were translucent and about four feet long with a cross guard shaped like bat wings, a grip like a kunai, and a Gelel Crystal for a pommel. The two Narutos charged, their swords meeting in a loud clash sending ripples across the water below them. They both spun and slashed at each other's back resulting in their swords meeting again. They both shoved each other back then leapt at each other slashing at each other. Their swords met and shattered then landed on the water and spun toward each other charging at each other. They began to fight with their fists for a time, the occasional kick thrown in but neither could break through the other's defenses. Finally Naruto leapt back as Dark Naruto created a pair of swords in his hands.
"You're the hatred in me huh?" Naruto growled. "Alright. I understand. I'm not fighting you."
"Excuse..." Dark Naruto trailed off and his eyes widened as his body turned translucent and his swords faded. "What are you doing?"
"Forgiving," Naruto stated. "What's past is past. That's how it will always be."
"And yet here I still am," Dark Naruto grinned solidifying again. "Want to know how? Danzo. You still can't forgive him for Itachi and Shisui."
"I will always hate him for it," Naruto sighed. "You're right. But I can move on."
"Bull," Dark Naruto grinned before his smile faded along with both of his arms. "Shit."
Then, he faded, along with Naruto's hatred of Danzo for killing Shisui and having a hand in Itachi's , Naruto's eyes snapped open and he was sitting in front of the waterfall again with the others watching him silently.
"What happened?" Naruto questioned standing and turning to see them watching him intently.
"You sat down entered your mindscape and fought your dark half," Motoi stated. "Gaara, your turn."
Gaara leapt over to the island as Naruto leapt back and Gaara sat down closing his eyes. A moment later, he entered his mind and a copy of himself with Shukaku's eyes stepped out of the waterfall.
"Look who's here," Dark Gaara sneered. "So, since Motoi already explained how this works, would you like to begin?"
"No," Gaara stated. "If there's anything Naruto has taught me, it's that everyone deserves forgiveness. The citizens of my village had good reason to react the way they did given that Shukaku broke free several times. I stopped hating them long ago. So what hate are you here from?"
"Shukaku, of course," Dark Gaara scoffed.
"I see," Gaara nodded. "Then you are dismissed. I understood his reasoning some time ago."
"You think it's that easy?" Dark Gaara questioned.
"Yes," Gaara nodded. "You are now powerless, while I am not."
Dark Gaara laughed and raised his hand but nothing happened.
"What?" Dark Gaara breathed.
"Without my hate, you have no power," Gaara stated. "You may not disappear on your own like Motoi said most do but I no longer have need of you."
Gaara raised his own hand and sand shot out of his gourd and around Dark Gaara.
"Sand Coffin," Gaara growled as Dark Gaara rose into the air then made a fist. "Sand Burial!"
Dark Gaara exploded and Gaara opened his eyes seeing the waterfall again.
"Yours had to be killed didn't he?" Motoi questioned.
"Yes," Gaara nodded leaping back to the others.
"You're a rare person," Motoi stated.
"Fu's turn," Naruto stated.
Fu nodded and leapt over to the patch of ground and sat down just as Killer B landed beside Naruto.
"You already go?" B questioned.
"Yes," Naruto nodded. "Fu's last."
No sooner had he said this did a second Fu step out of the water fall, both eyes completely black with darkness radiating out around them.
"That's impossible," Naruto breathed.
"No," B said shaking his head. "Yugito's dark half was real too. Fu is one of the only two people I've ever met that did it."
"So, I'm not in my head?" Fu questioned standing.
"No," Naruto breathed shaking his head.
"Rid yourself of your hatred," B advised. "But either way, when they're real, we'll have to fight them anyway. And she'll be strong."
Dark Fu's face contorted in the most evil smile Naruto had ever seen as six orange insect wings unfurled from her back. Everyone, B included, turned pale.
"Fu, I don't suppose Chomei is willing to help you like she did against Kisame?" Naruto questioned.
"No," Fu said replied. "I'll start."
Fu leapt forward to punch Dark Fu but the copy blurred around behind her then planted both feet in her back sending her crashing into the waterfall. Naruto drew his Crow Blade and Temujin's sword and leapt at Dark Fu, slashing once before she spun and smashed him away with her wings. Sand shot up around her but exploded off as boiling red chakra appeared around her.
"How is she that strong?" Naruto demanded.
"She has the support of the Seven-tails," B stated his own Tailed Beast Cloak covering his body at four tails where Dark Fu was at six because of her wings.
"Your turn then," Naruto growled.
B shot into the air swinging at Dark Fu whose wings blocked the punch before snapping open and launching him back to the ground. Before he could move, Dark Fu shot forward, a long stinger extending from her mouth in place of her tongue.
"Shit!" Naruto cursed as a spectral blade appeared over his shoulder and shot out, shattering against the stinger but knocking it aside where it impaled itself in the ground harmlessly while everyone except Dark Fu stared at Naruto in shock. "I'll handle this. Fu, get busy dumping your hatred."
Fu blinked then closed her eyes and Naruto stepped forward, his Byakugan activating as Dark Fu retracted her stinger as two shorter ones extended from each hand. Then, she shot forward flying around him in a blur.
"You think you're tough don't you?" Dark Fu growled as Naruto created a spectral blade in his hand. "Well, I'm not going to lose to some cheap trick!"
Naruto suddenly spun blocking both of Dark Fu's crossed stingers that she seemed to be using as batons as much as stingers. Then, she was behind him jabbing a stinger at his back. He flipped his blade around behind him so the blade was pointed upward and blocked the stinger. Then he raised his arm and Dark Fu disappeared again, blurring around Naruto in a circle once again. The others watched in wrapped silence as Naruto blocked several more attacks without seeming to try before suddenly driving the blade into the ground and letting go just before Dark Fu tripped on the side of the blade flying through the air and into a tree where four spectral blades pinned her by the shoulders and both thighs.
"Looks like you might have tripped up a bit on that last one," Naruto noted face completely emotionless.
"Finish it Fu," B commanded. "She's a part of you. It's your responsibility."
Fu drew a kunai and hurled it at Dark Fu, the kunai driving itself through Dark Fu's throat and killing her.
"Good," B nodded. "Now, follow me."
"Wait," Yamato spoke up. "Naruto, what was that?"
"That was the offensive half of my Kekkei Genkai," Naruto stated. "I can create swords similar to Chakra Chains to fight with. As you saw, they're quite effective."
Yamato nodded and B began walking forward into the waterfall. Naruto, Gaara, and Fu all followed instantly and Hinata a moment later. Yamato sighed and also followed but the others returned to the building they were staying in.
"You'll be fighting your Tailed Beasts here," B stated gesturing to the Aztec-style temple before them and the decapitated golden statues around them.
"I'm sorry," Naruto spoke up. "Fighting our Tailed Beasts? You're kidding right?"
"No," B shook his head then led them to a large door with a cat's head the mouth open and waiting. "This is a sacred place where those selected as Jinchuriki have long come to undergo purification ceremonies. It's set up here so you can talk to your Tailed Beasts in a special way, inside this structure, you here what I say?"
"I'm detecting a catch," Fu stated.
"Only those who've been chosen may enter this place," B stated. "Put your head into this space. If you're a good man, respected, no darkness in your heart detected, the door will open, you won't be rejected."
"Um, can you please explain that normally?" Yamato questioned.
"So that was the point of the waterfall," Naruto realized.
"However," B continued turning around. "If there is any darkness in your heart, the doors will not part. You consent? And the statue will bite off your head and tear you apart. You content? Those headless statues you saw, on your way here are past Jinchuriki whose hearts weren't sincere."
Naruto put a hand to his throat instinctively.
"Too risky," Yamato stated. "Naruto, just use a shadow clone."
"Yo check yourself!" B snapped. "This is a sacred place fool! Ya fool! And many generations of Hidden Cloud Shinobi watch over it. Tricks like that won't work."
"Can't you just open the door for us?" Fu questioned.
"No," Naruto spoke up. "I came to learn to control the Nine-tails. I have to do this."
He walked forward and knelt down.
"Naruto!" Hinata suddenly spoke up. "Please don't!"
"It's alright Hinata," Naruto smiled back at her. "I'll be fine."
He then leaned forward and pushed his head into the statue's head. After a moment, he suddenly screamed in agony and Yamato sprinted forward, grabbing him and pulling hims out, everyone gasping as they saw that his head was missing.
"No, how could this happen?" Yamato practically shouted caught between shock and grief.
Suddenly, Naruto pushed his head out laughing.
"Only kidding," Naruto grinned. "There was just a switch inside the statue. Sorry, couldn't help myself."
"What's funny is I did the same thing too," B stated. "Those statues are just there to scare ya fools, yeah!"
"But I thought you told us this place was sacred!" Yamato shouted. "What happened to that fools, ya fools!?"
Naruto grinned at Yamato copying B and glanced at Hinata to see her hiding a grin as her Byakugan deactivated. She had seen him pull his trick. Suddenly the door began to open, rumbling as it slid sideways just to the left of the statue. They all looked inside and saw a void of nothing but bright pink-tinted clouds.
"So...is this..." Naruto began as B walked over to the door.
"You need to go in, sit down, and focus," B stated. "It's like at the waterfall. Then, you'll meet up with your Tailed Beasts."
"But...I can enter my mind to speak with him at will," Naruto stated.
"Yeah, sure," B nodded. "All Jinchuriki can do that. But this situation is a little different. Okay?"
And with that, he walked forward into the void. Naruto shrugged and the rest of them all followed him.
