Day Two
Naruto stepped into his house, mood much worse now that he remembered his argument with his family before. Although, he was interested to see what they were like.
"Welcome home Naruto," Kushina smiled. "We were starting to get worried. Dinner will be ready in a few minutes. Why don't you go get washed up?"
"Yes Ma'am," Naruto sighed.
"Is something wrong Naruto?" Kushina questioned.
"No," Naruto assured her. "Just had a very long day."
"You had a fight with Hinata again didn't you?" Kushina questioned. "Well, I'm sure she's forgotten about it by now. She does love you so much."
Naruto blinked then smiled and nodded walking to the bathroom just as Minato stepped out.
"Oh, Naruto," Minato smiled. "Welcome back. How was your day?"
"Long," Naruto stated.
"Hinata mad at you again?" Minato questioned.
"I think she might be Bipolar," Naruto stated and Minato chuckled.
"No no," Minato smiled. "She'll come out of it. You'll see."
He walked past and Naruto washed his hands then grinned at himself in the mirror. His parents were exactly like they had always been.
The next day, Naruto met Sakura on a balcony with a good view of the Hokage Monument. Sai was there painting the scene. It was horrible. It looked like he had painted it with the brush in his mouth and his eyes closed. And dizzy.
"So, how was your night?" Sakura questioned.
"It was great," Naruto grinned. "My parents are exactly the way they're supposed to be. What about you?"
"My night was awesome since my parents aren't around to be bossy and then, this morning, Sasuke visited me. He still loves me!"
Naruto grinned and nodded then glanced at Sai's painting.
"He sucks," Naruto stated and Sakura nodded as well.
"So, we should put together what we know," Sakura stated.
"Okay," Naruto nodded. "This world was created by Madara, likely to capture me and Kurama, everyone here is a little bit screwed up, Hinata more than most, and we both have exactly what we were wishing for when we entered this world. What should we do?"
"For now just keep gathering info I guess," Sakura sighed.
They walked into town, seeing Shino fighting bugs with his gas gun thing as they went. Once in town, Sakura was swarmed with children asking for autographs and asking how to be like her. Once they had left Naruto crossed his arms.
"You seem to be enjoying the situation," Naruto commented.
"A little," Sakura admitted. "Come on. Let's go see if Tsunade knows anything about Madara."
Naruto grinned and Sakura punched him in the head, knowing what he was thinking. They walked to the office and stopped when they heard Tsunade say something about the Land of Lightning's Tailed-Beast being stolen.
"Did you say something about the Land of Lightning's Tailed Beast?" Sakura questioned.
"Ah, hello Sakura," Tsunade smiled. "Feeling better?"
"Focus Granny Tsunade," Naruto sighed. "What happened to Octopops?"
"I heard that it was the Lightning's Tailed Beast that was stolen, I know nothing about something called Octopops," Tsunade stated.
"Lady Tsunade-" Shizune began but Tsunade simply held up a hand.
"The battle should begin soon," Tsunade stated. "There's no point in hiding it."
"Who are we fighting?" Sakura questioned.
"You know of the masked man that is disturbing our nation using several unique jutsus right?" Tsunade questioned.
"Masked man?" Naruto questioned Madara jumping to mind.
"He's an S-rank criminal," Shizune stated. "But I never thought he would also do something to the Tailed Beasts."
Tailed Beasts and a mask," Naruto sighed. "Sakura, you think it's..."
"Yes," Sakura nodded. "Madara doesn't exist in this world but he may have changed his name to exist here, like how you're Menma here."
"Where is he?" Naruto questioned.
"He's not the kind of person you can handle," Shizune stated. "Many people, us included, have attempted to bring him down. However, Jiraiya, one of the Legendary ninja, was unable to return alive."
"Pervy Sage..." Naruto trailed off.
"Jiraiya said that there is only one way to defeat the masked man," Tsunade stated. "A sealed document."
"The Red Moon Scroll," Minato stated from behind them making Naruto and Sakura turn and look back.
"We finished our mission," Kushina stated. "We'd have checked in last night but we were excited to see Naruto."
"It's alright," Tsunade smiled.
"Jiraiya heard a prophecy at Mount Myoboku that a man in a mask would strike him down," Minato stated. "In order to stop this, he retrieved the Red Moon Scroll at the cost of his life."
"Where is it now?" Sakura questioned.
"It would be hidden on the border of the Fire Nation," Tsunade stated. "Minato, you and Kushina will go to retrieve it after Kakashi and Guy return from their mission."
"Let me go too, please," Naruto requested.
"This isn't your place to butt in," Tsunade stated.
"I also ask for your permission," Minato spoke up. "Naruto is capable and will be very helpful on the mission. Don't worry, I promise we'll come back but this will allow us to assess how well Naruto has been trained by us."
Tsunade finally nodded.
Minato thanked her and they all left, Minato and Kushina heading home while Sakura and Naruto walked through the street.
"Madara's evil," Naruto stated. "But I have trouble thinking that this world is inherently evil."
"I agree," Sakura nodded. "What should we do?"
"Wait until Kakashi and Guy get back then go get the scroll and get the Hell out of here," Naruto stated. "The Jutsu has to end if we kill the person controlling it."
"Right," Sakura nodded. "For now, I think it's time for us to go home."
"Good night then," Naruto sighed.
"You too," Sakura smiled.
They went their separate ways, heading back to their houses. When Naruto arrived, Kushina had almsot finished her food and Naruto smiled at the smell.
"Hungry?" Kushina smiled.
"Yes," Naruto smiled.
"Go get washed up," Kushina smiled. "It'll be ready in a minute."
Naruto nodded and went to the bathroom and washed his hands. After dinner, Naruto began to walk back to his room when he noticed a book on the shelf to his right that said, "Photo Album". Naruto opened it and began thumbing through it. It was the exact same one He had in the real world.
"It's rare that you look through that old thing," Minato noted while he cleared the table.
Naruto shrugged then turned to him.
"Why did you ask Tsunade to let me come with you?" Naruto questioned.
"I figured you wouldn't ask to come with us without a reason," Minato smiled. "Right?"
"Yes," Naruto nodded. "And, thank you."
Minato nodded and Naruto went to his room.
The next day, they met with Kakashi and Guy at the main gate. Kakashi was acting like Guy and Guy was acting depressed, talking about how they were all old. They soon reached the same area where Naruto had gone after the Bikochu. In this world, there was only a small section in the middle that had trees and the rest was an open field.
"The Red Moon Scroll is down there," Minato stated. "Kakashi, you go first and watch the front."
"I would love too," Kakashi stated, headband up, as it had been for a while now. "But I've had my forehead protector up this entire trip. I'm tired."
"I want to take a rest too," Guy sighed sitting down.
You're both useless," Naruto sighed making a clone to gather Nature Energy. "I'll go first. Mom, you're second. Then Sakura and Dad."
Minato nodded and Naruto dropped down to the grass, the others following. They sprinted forward in the order Naruto had specified and watched for traps. After a few minutes, Naruto passed a seal tag that glowed white for a moment before a massive cloud of white smoke shot up. When it cleared, Gamabunta, Gamaken, and Gamahiro were standing before them.
"Are you serious?" Kushina growled.
"Since they're already here it's too late to stop," Minato stated. "We are Ninjas from Konoha. Were are here to retrieve the document Jiraiya Sensei died for."
"We don't know of such an arrangement," Gamabunta stated. "We were only asked to protect the document."
"Chief Toad!" Naruto called. "Let me-"
"Shut up!" Gamabunta ordered spitting his cigarette at them.
"I'll handle this," Naruto stated releasing his clone and entering Sage Mode.
He landed and sprinted forward as hundreds of toads fell toward him. Naruto leapt through the cloud of toads, reaching the far side easily and leapt into the air as Gamabunta slashed at him. Naruto caught the sword, making all of the toads and the humans all freeze.
"You're...a Toad Sage," Gamabunta gasped. "Then, you...you trained on Mount Myoboku!"
"Yes," Naruto nodded.
"Then you are not an enemy," Gamabunta stated. "You may pass. As may your friends."
"Dad, let's go," Naruto called out and Minato nodded tossing a kunai to Naruto and teleporting to it.
He picked it up and followed Naruto to a small shrine-like building with a seal tag on it.
"The summoning jutsu is linked to a space-time jutsu and a chain jutsu," Minato stated.
"Glad you were sent on this mission," Naruto grinned. "I haven't been taught much about how to unseal."
"I taught you how to do that a little while ago," Minato stated.
"It's a long story," Naruto stated. "I'll tell you and Mom later."
Minato nodded and made several hand seals before pointing two fingers at the seal and it and several others around the trees all burned away before the toads all vanished.
Minato opened the doors and took out the scroll, tossing it to grinned and they returned to the others. they moved back up the cliff to the trees.
"Menma," Kushina spoke stopping them. "Are you...are you okay?"
"I'm alright Mom," Naruto smiled, no longer in Sage Mode.
Kushina stepped forward hugging him and after a moment he hugged her back.
"Never scare me like that again," Kushina sobbed.
"I'm sorry," Naruto apologized. "I won't."
Kushina nodded, stepping back and turned to Minato.
"We should get back," Minato stated.
Kushina nodded and they turned back to Konoha.
