I do not own Naruto Shippuden or any of the characters. To clarify, Naruto and Sakura did not go to the genjutsu world(last three chapters) on Naruto's birthday.

Questions

Naruto bowed, two cold, emotionless, white eyes staring at him.

"If you were anyone else, I would say no fucking way," Hiashi stated. "However, given what you've done, it's not so easy. You have repeatedly saved her life at the risk of your own. You risked dying via the Nine-tails breaking free in order to avenge Hinata when you believed she had been murdered by Pein. And despite what he had done, you still chose to spare Nagato and Konan. You spared, and invited to Konoha, Guren who also nearly killed Hinata. But through it all, you did your best to protect her. I have to admit, you've earned my respect. I suspect I will regret this but, my answer is yes. So long as you continue to shield her from any pain. Including yourself."

"Thank you," Naruto smiled bowing again then turned and practically sprinted out of the room.

He went to Ino's flower shop and she grinned, tossing him a massive bouquet and winking. He rolled his eyes and turned to leave without paying since Ino was the only person that knew his plan, something he feared he would seriously regret.

Naruto headed back to the Hyuga Compound and found Hinata and Neji training. Hinata was using her Gentle Step Twin Lion Fists and Neji was only barely able to keep out of the way but saw Naruto sitting on the roof watching and grinned.

"You're doing very well Hinata," Neji grinned.

Naruto tossed the flowers to Hinata as she moved to attack again. Just as Neji stepped out of the way of an attack, Hinata spun, catching the flowers, then spun again and tripped Neji, disabling his arms then helped him up.

"Impressive," Naruto clapped. "You've been surpassed Neji."

"She's teaching me now," Neji stated. "Thanks to you."

"I'd challenge her to a sword fight but there wouldn't been very much of the Hyuga Compound left," Naruto grinned.

"I don't doubt it," Neji grinned. "I'll let you two be alone."

Naruto nodded and Neji walked inside with the flowers, knowing that Hinata would want the flowers in water. Naruto and Hinata left the Hyuga Compound and walked into town.

"Where are we going?" Hinata questioned.

"Have you eaten?" Naruto questioned.

"No," Hinata said shaking her head. "Usually I don't eat until after me and Neji's first training session."

"You're taking today off," Naruto stated grinning. "You're going to be hanging out with me today."

Hinata smiled and nodded, wrapping her arms around his right one as they walked through the empty street.

"Where we going Hinata?" Naruto questioned after a while.

"Can I have anything I want?" Hinata questioned smiling.

"Absolutely," Naruto grinned.

"Then I know just the place," Hinata smiled walking a little faster.

Naruto smiled at her excitement and pulled his arm away to wrap it around her shoulders. She leaned against him smiling as the restaurant came into view and Naruto could only grin. In addition to working at the Yamanaka Flower Shop, Ino also worked as a waitress at the restaurant Hinata was leaning Naruto to. And her shift at the flower shop ended twenty minutes ago, which meant she was already working her next job.

"Torture master," Naruto muttered leaning down to her ear.

She giggled and he placed a light kiss on her cheek. After another minute, they reached the restaurant where Ino was waiting.

"You're late Hinata," Ino grinned. "Follow me."

She led the two of them to a table tucked away in the corner of the room where no one could see it and it would be difficult to eaves drop. Naruto sat across from Hinata and glanced toward the cash register and seeing the calender they had mounted there as his body went numb. It was February. More specifically, it was the fourteenth.

"Holy crap it's Valentine's Day," Naruto muttered.

"You didn't remember?" Hinata questioned.

"I never payed it much attention before," Naruto admitted. "Happy Valentine's Day though. Sorry I didn't get you a present."

"It's okay," Hinata smiled. "I get to be with you. What are we doing today anyway?"

"Whatever you want," Naruto smiled.

Hinata smiled and nodded. After a few minutes, the lights all suddenly turned pink and Naruto looked around as pink and red streamers, paper hearts, and other assorted Valentine's Day decorations shot around the restaurant. Naruto was about to set his head down when Konan, now wearing black pants, black boots that seemed to join with the pants, and a navy blue open dress over it that was open to just above her navel and flowed around her and closed from there up to the top of the high collar that reached halfway op her neck with a zipper running up the center of her torso, walked over handing Naruto a menu. Naruto glanced through it then glanced up at Hinata who was grinning.

"What are you having?" Naruto questioned.

"Cinnamon buns," Hinata stated smiling.

"Me too I guess," Naruto said handing the menu back.

Konan nodded winking and walked away.

"Why did she wink at me?" Naruto questioned.

"Maybe she thinks you're aiming to..." Hinata trailed off, face turning scarlet and Naruto's instantly matched it.

"I wouldn't...I mean...not that I don't want...I mean...I'm shutting up," Naruto said face redder than Hinata's.

She smiled as Ino arrived and set a massive two liter glass of hot chocolate with whipped cream on the top shaped to make the entire thing look like a big heart.

"They really go all out don't they?" Naruto questioned and Hinata nodded still blushing. "I'm almost afraid to see what the cinnamon buns look like."

Hinata nodded again as Konan walked toward them holding two plates over her had so they couldn't see it. She set Hinata's down first and Naruto saw that they were all shaped like hearts. Then, she set down Naruto's and he saw that he had hearts and the icing formed writing.

"Ask her soon," the cinnamon buns read.

Naruto quickly smudged several of them, acting like they were hot then sighed and licked his fingers clean as Konan stuck two straws into the hot chocolate and left. Naruto and Hinata glanced at each other sharing a grin then began to eat. While they did, Naruto asked Hinata about what she had been doing in her spare time. She told him she had been training with Neji and Fu and had been learning Medical Ninjutsu from Sakura and Shizune. Naruto grinned then told her about what had happened between him and his parents, his time in the alternate world, and finally how his parents had reacted when he got home. Finally they finished and left, Ino and Konan watching every step with mischievous grins on their faces.

Naruto and Hinata spent the next few hours wandering around doing absolutely nothing. They returned to the same restaurant for lunch with a similar message to Naruto. After lunch, Naruto led Hinata to a clearing in the forest that he had convinced Yamato to make. It was filled with shin-high grass, every kind of flower imaginable, and a single Sakura blossom tree in the middle. They sat under the tree and remained silent for a long while, simply enjoying being together. Eventually, the sun finally began to set and Naruto gathered up his courage.

"Hinata, there's something I have to say, but I need you to wait until I'm done, okay?" Naruto asked.

"Of course," Hinata nodded sitting up and turning to face him.

"The Uzumaki have two distinct Kekkei Genkai," Naruto stated. "Chakra chains or weapons, sometimes both, and an incredibly strong chakra. That chakra allows them to live abnormally long lives. A pure-blood Uzumaki can live well over two hundred years so long as they are never killed in battle or by a disease. There have been several half-blood Uzumaki with the Kekkei Genkai but there have also been several that don't have it."

"So," Hinata spoke up. "You're not sure but you may outlive me?"

"As ninja that's always a threat," Naruto stated. "But you're right. I don't know if I have the Kekkei Genkai or not. I may wind up living more than twice as long as you. Or I may not have it and will live a much shorter life than you. I hope I don't have it though. Because, even if I did, if I had to choose between dying along side you, or watching you grow old and die while I live another full lifetime, I'd rather die. I can't live without you Hinata."

Hinata smiled and hugged him and he hugged her back then gently moved her off his lap and knelt on one knee smiling nervously.

"I love you Hinata," Naruto stated. "And I would give absolutely everything to protect you."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, square, black box and Hinata covered her mouth as tears sprang to her eyes.

"Hinata Hyuga," Naruto stated taking a steadying breath as his nervousness soared to new heights. "Will you do me the indescribably honor of marrying me?"

Hinata laughed, cried, and tried to talk all at once, resulting in her having trouble breathing and being unable to say anything intelligible. After a moment she nodded vigorously and threw her arms around him, kissing him. He kissed her back, wrapping his arms around her back. After a few minutes, he pulled back and pulled her hand down to him, slipping the ring into place. Hinata kissed him again then rested her head on his shoulder admiring her new ring. After a time, Naruto stood, holding her bridal style and began walking back toward the village.

"More cinnamon buns?" Hinata questioned.

"Nope," Naruto grinned. "We've got other reservations."

Hinata smiled and rested her head against his chest until she saw where they were headed. It was the only fancy restaurant in the entire village where an appetizer could cost as much as a three course meal for two anywhere else. But the food was more than worth it.

"We don't have to go there," Hinata stated flipping to her feet.

"I know," Naruto smiled. "We're going there because I want to and so do you."

Hinata sighed and wrapped her arms around Naruto as they walked. When they arrived, the crew led them to their table then gave them menus and left. Their table was again in a secluded corner and seconds after they closed their menus, the waiter walked over and took their orders. After a few minutes, record time for the restaurant, the waiter came back with their food and a plate piled three feet high with fresh cinnamon buns which he set in the middle just before putting down two wine glasses and pouring them each some.

"What...is this?" Hinata questioned glancing between Naruto and the plate of cinnamon buns.

"That is for you," Naruto stated. "As a second Valentines Day gift from me."

"Second?" Hinata questioned.

Naruto grinned and handed her a magnifying glass.

"Look at the diamond," Naruto suggested.

She did and saw a tiny seal lasered into the inside of the diamond. She didn't recognize it but when she looked up at Naruto he was grinning.

"It's a fail safe to make sure I don't have to say goodbye anytime soon," Naruto stated. "Channel chakra into it, where it will be sealed away until released."

"When's that?" Hinata questioned.

"If you are ever killed by any injury, be it accident, murder, or friendly fire, the seal will open and the chakra will be returned to your body, healing your injuries and bringing you back to life," Naruto explained. "You have Chomei to thank for the seal. He seems to be the hopeless romantic of the Tailed-Beasts."

Hinata grinned and nodded then picked up a cinnamon bun and ate it. It was the best cinnamon bun she had ever had, though that might just be because she was currently the happiest she had ever been. They ate in silence until they were full and put the rest of the cinnamon buns into fifteen boxes. Then, they left, Naruto's clones carrying the boxes. They walked back through the village to the Hyuga Compound. Naruto kissed Hinata good night then watched her walk inside, the clones following with the extra cinnamon buns. Naruto walked home on top of the world and teleported into his house then went to bed silently, his parents already being asleep.
