Chapter 126: Never close our eyes

Kagome jogged across the street, jumping the curb and took off across the grass. There was a park across from the diner, a pond nestled in the center. She slowed to a fast walk, walking around the pond. Once she was an acceptable distance from the diner, she sat on a vacant bench. There was no sign of Sesshoumaru.

"Why can't I just keep my big mouth shut?" She whispered with a sigh.

"The world would stop turning." A velvety voice spoke behind her. Kagome's heart leaped into her throat.

"Seriously... we need to get you a damn cow bell and attach it to that necklace! You are always so quiet, you scared the life out of me!"

"Yet still you breathe."

Kagome couldn't help but laugh, "Quite the jokester, aren't you. Who would have guessed? The mighty Lord Sesshoumaru is actually funny, granted it only seems to be at my expense." Kagome shifted over, opening up space on the bench for Sesshoumaru. "I wish, I could just sit on this bench... with you... and we'd never close our eyes, never be tomorrow. Right now, like this... is good."
