Meanwhile, Dean was driving to Tampa from Orlando with Roman, Seth, and Brad. He wasn't sure how Brad had wormed his way into his car, but he did. The only reason that he didn't kick him out of the car was because Casey would be upset. She didn't like it when he was unnecessarily rude to Brad. Teasing and jokes were great, but she hated when he was "mean" to Brad.
"What's on your mind, man?" Roman asked from the passenger's seat and Dean sighed.
"Casey. I'm going to be a dad, in a matter of hours, and I might miss her giving birth."
"You're not going to miss it. Casey would try to hold him in until you got there." Seth reasoned and he nodded, drumming his hands on the steering wheel. "Don't do that, man. That's fucking irritating."
"Listen to your music, Seth. I'm freaking out over Casey."
"Somebody is sassy." Brad mumbled and everyone turned back to glare at him.
"Maddox!"
"What the fuck is this?" Dean sighed, looking at all the traffic. "Come on!" He honked a couple times and Roman sighed loudly.
"Call Adam and let him know. If I were you, I wouldn't let him tell Casey about the traffic. She'll start to panic and we don't need that." The Samoan reasoned and Dean nodded, pulling out his phone.
"Ambrose? Where the hell are you?"
"Hey. I need you to not tell Casey this. I'm stuck in traffic going to Tampa."
"You serious? Jon, she's going to start asking questions about where you are." He could hear the concern in Adam's tone and appreciated the care the older man still showed Casey.
"I know. I know. Just... Keep her distracted. I don't care what lie you have to tell, just make her believe that everything is fine. Can you do that for me?"
"I can try. She can read me like an open book."
"Adam, you're a fucking actor for fucks sake." Dean argued as the traffic began to crawl and Roman looked at him quizzically.
"Alright. Alright. You calm down, okay? Panicking on the freeway isn't going to get you here any faster."
"Alright. Thanks man."
"Anytime. Don't do anything stupid." With that, Adam hung up, leaving Dean to the traffic and Brad's singing.
"This is the last time I leave one of Casey's CDs in my car." Dean muttered more to himself than to anyone else, but Seth and Roman nodded in agreement.
"Who was that?" Casey asked once Adam reentered the room and he smiled at her.
"My mom was telling me about her garden. Her daisies remind her of you." He was lying through his teeth, but Casey didn't catch on.
"That's so sweet. Did you tell her I said hello?"
"And that we're currently awaiting the little bean. She's excited for you."
"We need to call my mom, and my sisters, and-"
"I'll call Nicole, and she can spread the word for you."
"How sweet." A nurse cut in. "Are you the father?"
"No, I'm her best friend. The father is on his way from Orlando."
"In that traffic, tough luck." She scoffed and Casey looked to Adam.
"Did you know?"
"I didn't."
"Adam..."
"Casey, I swear. Would I lie to you?" He gave her his best smile and she nodded. "Now relax. He's going to be here in time for the little bean to come."
"You're sure?"
"I'm positive. Dean promised, and he's a man of his word." But even Adam was losing faith in the man.
Okay I lied. It'll be a three parter.
