Cara's POV

Have you ever put your finger in jello? It feels weird and squishy. Well, my body felt like the jello in that scenario and the bullet is the finger. It feels like someone is sticking their fingers in and digging for gold.

I screamed out as I felt something pierce my skin. Thrashing around, I clutched the thin fabric that I was resting on.

"Maggie! I need you." An old masculine voice yelled. I felt the owner of the voice grip my wrist to hold me down.

"AHH!" I cry out and the pressure in my abdomen got worse. I felt myself start to shake and lift off the bed.

The room was silent for a moment with only the sound of feet hitting the hardwood floor. "What is happening?" Carl's familiar panicked voice asked. I don't know where he is, but he sounds far way.

The older man sighed. "She is seizing, son. You need to step out. You don't wanna see your friend like this." His voice was gentle yet firm.

"But… I can't leave her! I promised her that I wouldn't leave her. I can't leave her." Carl tried to explain himself. I don't know what happened after that, but I could hear another set of footsteps.

"Carl, you aren't helpin' her by gettin' in the good doctor's way. We gonna wait outside, so that he can help her." Rick's rich southern voice tried to reason with his son.

Carl didn't say anything. No one said anything. No words, just footsteps leading away from the room.

Those footsteps are the last thing that I hear before everything goes black.

~A/N~

Hey!

It is the last night of my break and I am finally feeling up to writing. I had surgery on the 23nd of February and I've felt really lazy this last week. Plus I've had a couple of doctor's appointments.

I want to thank Walker74 and Guest for your kind words!

I hope you like this short chapter. I hope, I am not promising, that I can do more short chapters.

Have a nice week!
