Summary: Adventure AU! What if Daisuke had been adopted by the Yagami family when he was four years old? What if he was with Taichi on that fateful day at Summer Camp? How different would the adventure have been with a bit of Miracles added to the mix?

Right, you know my original plan to write out the entire arc then release updates on a schedule? Well, erase that plan from your mind.
I can't do it.
I tried to get myself to write out something but I just couldn't, but when I thought of scrapping that plan this chapter just flowed out of me.
So yeah we're going back to updates whenever I finish a chapter so look forward to that!

Before I let you go, I know you've all been waiting for a long time and I'm sorry for that, but I would just like to say thank you to everyone who stuck by me as I tried to work out what way I was going to go with this.

07/06/2018 - I've done a quick run through of this and changed some of the mistakes I could see this time. I'll go through it once more in a couple of days and see if I can catch anymore. Also thanks to Guest who corrected me on a couple of my kanji, I can't speak any other language but English so any help is appreciated for such things.
07/07/2018 - Guest - I won't call Daisuke 'Davis' because there is no way for me to shorten his name to that. Taichi can be shortened to Tai and Hikari can be shortened to 'Kari. I also use the English version of Joe's name. These three are the exceptions when it comes to English names as nicknames. Everyone else will be using their Japanese names.
A Touch of Miracles: Season 1
Episode 4: Scorching Heat! Birdramon's fiery Love!
The lake was still and there was no wind to move the trees, a small pile of sticks and abandoned soda cans sat not far from the water's edge making it clear someone had been staying here.
Leomon huffed slightly before he crouched down and allowed his hand to hover over the burnt out fire. He sighed before shaking his head and straightening himself up.
"We missed them, probably by a few hours at most." He reported over to where two small figures stood near the trees.
"Oh no…" Daisuke whispered dejectedly and V-mon was quick to pat his shoulder in comfort.
"Don't worry Daisuke! We'll catch up with them soon!"
"But how? We keep missing them!" Daisuke whined as he stomped his foot with a pout. To think if they had just gotten here a few hours earlier they would have caught up with the others was incredibly frustrating.
"Don't fret so much, child. They haven't got very far. They're heading into the desert with very little rations; they won't make it all the way through." Leomon explained causing Daisuke's eyes to widen in horror.
"You mean they're going to die?!" He half screamed but before he could go into hysterics Leomon placed his paw on top of the boy's head.
"No. Scorching Heat Village is located in the centre of the desert; your group will defiantly stop there to gather themselves. The village is there so wandering Digimon has a place to get food and water before they continue on with their travels." Leomon reassured before he once again straightened himself up.
"We should reach the village in a few hours as long as nothing stops us."
"Did you hear the Daisuke? You'll be back with your Aniki before you know it!" V-mon cheered and the six-year-old nodded as he rubbed his wrist viciously across his eyes.
The peaceful air around them was suddenly cut off though as a loud humming noise started sounded from above them. The three of them looked up just in time to see a strange black object go flying across the sky.
"Woah! What was that?" V-mon asked in awe as he stood on tiptoes trying to see if he could spot the object again.
"It's a UFO!" Daisuke squeaked causing the blue dragon Digimon to look at him in confusion.
"UFO? What's that?"
Unnoticed by the two of them Leomon's eyes were still on the sky. Only they were now narrowed in barely concealed rage.
Walking through the thick trees Sora swore that the temperature seemed to be rising. Before it seemed mild, heading more towards cold with the wind but now Sora was about to give in and take off both her hat and gloves.
She wasn't the only one who noticed either Taichi had taken off his yellow undershirt stuffing it and his gloves into Daisuke's backpack, Koushirou, Mimi and Yamato had all removed their gloves and put them away, Takeru had rolled his sleeves and had his brother attach his helmet to a small tie on his backpack.
The only ones who didn't seem affected were the Digimon, who were going on their way as happy as anything. Carefully the group climbed up a small but steep hill as the heat continued to intensify.
"What's that noise?" Biyomon suddenly asked breaking Sora out of her thoughts. Blinking Sora looked up as Joe and Taichi did the same thing.
The group listened as the sound became louder before a strange black object shot over them, heading in the same direction they were walking.
"Did anyone see what it was?" Taichi asked as he took out his mini telescope from his pocket and tried to see if he could spot it.
"It looked like a black gear to me," Yamato admitted having spotted it pretty easily despite its fast speed. He always found it easy to notice the details that people thought were insignificant; his father had said he had got it from his mother.
"Are you sure it wasn't a flying saucer?" Sora asked sceptically. A flying saucer was more believable than a black gear shooting through the sky.
"Or a meteor that looks like a gear?" Mimi asked as she brought up the rear of the group. Her hat was hanging from her neck revealing her red hair to the sun.
"Either way something didn't feel right about it." Joe pointed out and the group fell silent in agreement. Sora shivered slightly, even though she had only seen a glimpse of it the gear gave her a dark pressuring feeling and by the looks of things the rest of the group felt the same.
Takeru suddenly cried out in shock as he was sent to the floor with a loud thump. He whimpered as he felt his hands start to sting.
Taichi reached down and easily lifted Takeru up in the air causing the boy to gasp slightly in shock.
"Takeru!" Patamon cried out in panic as he flapped frantically around the two of them. Yamato released a sigh of relief as he realised Takeru was alright.
"Are you okay Takeru?" Taichi asked as he walked on to more stable ground before setting down the eight-year-old back on his feet. Takeru blinked before he nodded.
"I'm alright! It didn't hurt one bit!" Takeru lied with a smile even as his hands continued to sting a bit. Taichi hummed sceptically before taking Takeru's hand and turning them, revealing the dirt covered scraps to the group.
"You don't have to try and be brave around us Takeru." Taichi chided lightly and Joe knelt beside him while removing the supply bag.
"Taichi's right. For wounds like this, it's best to tell someone immediately otherwise they could get infected." Joe explained as he pulled out some wipes and a couple of bandages.
"Then…I guess it does hurt…just a little though…" Takeru admitted with clear hesitation causing the older boy to chuckle.
"Don't worry Takeru! I'll carry you so you don't have to trip anymore!" Patamon proclaimed loudly causing Takeru to giggle.
"That may be a bit hard when he's double your size." Gabumon pointed out logically with a small chuckle. Patamon puffed out his cheeks before glaring at the bigger Digimon.
"Are you calling my partner fat?!"
"What? No!" Gabumon objected immediately as the children began to laugh at the interaction.
"We should probably find somewhere to stay to wait out this heat." Yamato pointed out while swiping his hand across his sweating forehead.
"Okay, but where?" Taichi said as he helped Takeru to his feet, smiling as Takeru hugged Patamon tightly to his chest with a giggle.
"I don't know. Maybe we should keep going this way? We're already lost anyway." Sora pointed out and the older children murmured in agreement.
Sora jumped slightly though when Biyomon rubbed her head lightly against Sora's leg, something she had done many times since they met.
"I'm happy going wherever Sora is going." The pink bird Digimon proclaimed causing Sora to swallow hard. While the adoration the Digimon had towards her was flattering, some part of her felt really uncomfortable about it.
"Let's just keep going in this direction. I want to find Daisuke as soon as possible." Taichi huffed as he adjusted the backpack slightly. It sobered up the group slightly as they realised they were still missing someone.
"Hey! There's a break in the trees!" Joe suddenly called out from upfront causing the group to quickly run over and join him. Sure enough, there was a very clear break in the trees with signs on either side saying 'This way'.
The group walked through the break and flinched as the sun suddenly beamed down on them brightly. In front of them was a long stretch of sand with telephone poles scattered about.
"This reminds me of the African savannah. I saw it on TV once." Koushiro commented as the group slowly started walking through the desert.
"Do you think we'll come across lions and giraffes here then?" Taichi asked while looking around the area. Koushirou shrugged as he whipped his forehead with a sigh.
"I've never heard of those Digimon before," Agumon admitted as he scratched his nose slightly and Tenatamon buzzed as she landed beside Koushirou.
"That's because they are not Digimon. As such we're not going to see them here, as the only thing in this world are Digimon." Tentamon explained causing the children to sigh in disappointment.
The sun beamed down on the group as they made their slow trek across the sands, the sounds of their mindless chatter filling the once silence air.
It wasn't long though before the heat started becoming too much and soon the walk became almost impossible.
"How much water do we have left?" Joe questioned as the group took time to catch their breaths. Mimi quickly took the chance to place her sun hat on her head as Yamato dug through Takeru's bag to pull out the small boy's summer hat.
"Not a lot. We couldn't carry too much because the cans were open and fizzy pop won't really help us with thirst." Koushirou admitted as he carefully pulled out five cans out of the emergency supplies which had been covered with potato chip wrappers, hair bands were also wrapped tightly around the cans keeping the makeshift lids in place.
"We need to be careful then. We don't know how long this desert actually is so we need to make sure we keep some sort of water supply." Joe explained as he packed away three of cans.
Sora sighed as he rubbed her hand over her forehead. While she loved her chullo hat it was in no way suited for this heat. Suddenly though she felt something soft touch her arm and looked to the side.
Taichi was holding out a familiar looking baseball cap out to her with one hand, while the other started putting stuff back into the backpack.
"Tai?" Sora questioned as she accepted the hand before turning it in her hands. Her eyes widened slightly though as she realised she recognised the logo on the front, and suddenly it clicked in her head why it looked familiar to her.
"Isn't this-?"
"Yeah, that's the one Tou-san brought for Daisuke when he took us to live soccer match last summer. I remember both of us being so excited to see F.C Tokyo in real life that we didn't realise we lost sight of Tou-san. It was halftime before he ran up to where we're sitting demanding to know where we were, his face was so red!" Taichi chuckled as he remembered the image of his dad almost falling over himself as he realised it was him that had gotten lost and not the boys.
"He never took it off, well until he realised his goggles actually fit him." Sora giggled as she the image of Daisuke walking around wearing a baseball cap that was actually too big for him popped into her mind; he looked so cute, especially when he started wearing it backwards to stop the flap falling into his eyes.
"But why are you handing it to me?" Sora questioned as she watched Taichi shake out two small capsules from a little orange bottle.
"Well I know you can't wear your normal hat in this heat but I think this would make a good replacement for now right?" Taichi explained before he quickly swallowed the pills with a quick sip of water.
Sora swallowed hard as she felt her heart speed up ever so slightly. Taichi was such a brash, headstrong guy that when he did touching things like this it always caught her off guard.
"We'll find him, Tai. I won't give up till we do." Sora promised as she carefully placed the cap on her head, tucking the short strands of her hair behind her ears.
"I know. Thanks, Sora." Taichi smiled before his hair decided it had enough of the humidity and promptly fell flat against his head. Sora couldn't help but burst out laughing at the sight.
Sitting not far from them Agumon and Biyomon watched the two friends interact with each other.
"Our partners are weird," Agumon concluded as he watched Taichi pull the blue headband and goggles out of his hair with a pout.
"Yeah but it's nice watching them laugh together," Biyomon concluded with a smile as she watched Sora tie Taichi's hair at the back of his neck with the small band he had on his wrist.
It was way too hot, there was no wind and no shade in sight, yet for just that couple of minutes, it was a small break that the whole group needed.
It wasn't long before the children forced themselves to keep moving forward; it was still morning lucky enough but they knew they needed to find shelter before midday hit.
"Do you think the telephone polls are a sign that humans are here?" Mimi questioned as she allowed her eyes to roam around the area.
"Maybe," Joe replied doubtlessly as he too scanned the area slightly glad that for now, the telephone polls seemed to be disabled.
"Or it could be just like with the payphone and the tram." Yamato pointed out slightly in front of them as he shoved his hands into his pockets with a sigh.
"Tentamon already said that the only living thing here are Digimon." Koushirou also pointed out as Tentamon slowly waddled next to him.
"N-now come on let's not be too hasty! There have to be humans here, otherwise, we wouldn't be here. Right?!" Joe cried out as his voice took on a slightly hysterical tone; he hoped the others hadn't noticed that but the way they all stopped to look at him he guessed they had.
"Do you need to sit down for a bit Joe-senpai?" Sora finally asked after a couple of seconds of silence causing Joe to simply sigh in defeat.
"I'm not lying though! Koushirou-han there really are only Digimon here. I promise." Tentamon swore to his partner who had leaned closer to listen to him. Koushirou smiled slightly before petting the bug Digimon's head.
"I know your not, Tentamon. Calm down okay?"
"Huh? My compass is acting weird." Mimi suddenly said as she held out a small device in front of her with a confused frown.
"I thought you said your compass was broken." Yamato accused her but instead of answering Mimi simply showed him the compass, which had a huge crack in the glass front.
"Well, I'm even more sure it is now! It's just spinning in circles." She huffed showing it to the rest of the children. Sure enough, the hand of the compass was spinning around the device at a fast pace.
Koushirou blinked before he looked down at the ground. They had all assumed what they were walking on was simply sand but with how this weird this world had been since they arrived, it wouldn't surprise him to be wrong about that.
Reaching down the small redhead scooped up a small handful of sand and allowed it to fall through his fingers as he slowly rubbed them together.
"I thought so!" He stated triumphantly as he straightened up while brushing his hands off carefully.
"You thought what?" Taichi questioned as he scratched the back of his neck slightly. His hair was bugging him slightly as he only usually put it up like it was during sports.
"This isn't sand, it just looks like it. Its actually some sort of powdered metal, iron if I had to take a guess." Koushirou explained simply. Mimi sighed though as she shoved her compass back into her bag.
"So it is broken then."
"Well, it will be until we get out of this weird desert. Then it should work fine." Sora reassured the girl even as she adjusted the cap on her head slightly and Koushirou nodded in agreement.
"The metal is affecting the magnet. So if we move out of this area we should be able to use it properly." Koushirou acknowledges as the group once again started walking.
"Palmon are you alright?" Mimi questioned as she saw the plant Digimon lag far behind the group along with Gomamon.
"I feel dizzy. I think the sun is drying me out." Palmon admitted breathlessly as she waved hand mindlessly in front of her face trying to cool down.
"Do you want to borrow my hat then?" Mimi asked as she pulled the pink sun hat off her head, allowing her red hair to fall on her back. With an easy smile, she placed the hat on top of the Digimon's head giving her some much-needed shade.
"Oh wow! This is much better! Thank you, Mimi!" Palmon exclaimed as she held the edges of the hat with a big smile.
"That was sweet of you, Mimi-chan." Sora praised the usually spoilt girl with a smile. Mimi blushed but she returned the smile happily.
"Sora! Let's keep walking!" Biyomon suggested with a bright smile as she once again rubbed her head against the girl's leg.
"You're certainly energetic. Doesn't the heat bother you?" Sora asked as she lifted her cap slightly to wipe her forehead. Biyomon simply smiled while shaking her head.
"I'm a Firebird remember? Heat doesn't bother me!" The bird Digimon explained simply and Sora simply hummed in understanding.
"Sora~" Biyomon giggled as she moved closer to the girl and once again rubbed her head against the girl's leg.
"Biyomon please stop that. I'm tired and I'm hot, and you're making this walk much harder than it needs to be." Sora snapped slightly before she released a sigh.
Biyomon blinked in shock before taking a couple of steps back. She fiddled her wings in front of her nervously.
"Sorry Sora, I didn't mean to bother you." She apologized quietly. Sora sigh again as she looked at the disappointed Digimon before she shook her head.
"You can walk by me Biyomon. Just try not to smother me okay?" Sora conceded gently causing Biyomon to give a small chirp of happiness.
Allowing himself to slow down Joe quickly crouched down beside his usually hyper Digimon. He noticed Gomamon's usually clear white skin had spots of red covering it and he wasn't sweating either.
"Gomamon do you want me to carry you? It'll probably be better than walking on this hot…stuff." Joe finished lamely as he quickly remembered what Koushirou had discovered a few minutes ago.
"Really Joe? That would be great!" Gmoamon gasped with a shakily smile as the sun continued to beat down on them. As a water Digimon, it was especially hard for him, it felt like he melting.
Easily enough Joe scooped the seal Digimon underneath one of his arms and noticed that the usually cool skin was now hot and dry.
"You're getting dehydrated," Joe muttered worriedly as he reached with his free hand to grab the straps of the emergency supplies from Koushirou.
"Joe-san?" Koushirou asked but quickly allowed the bag to be taken as he saw how Gomamon was looked. Joe quickly dug out another can of water and carefully helped the Digimon take small sips.
"We should head back to the forest, at least then we had cover against the heat. Out here there's nothing." Yamato suggested as Taichi pulled out his small telescope and looked around for a place to stop.
"No there's a village up ahead!" Taichi called out triumphantly as he caught sight of stone made huts scattered around.
"So maybe there are humans here after all!" Joe cheered as he stood to his feet with Gomamon cradled in his arms.
"It's worth checking out a least." Koushriou pointed out as Tentaomon flew up into the air to try and spot the village.
"I could do with something to drink," Mimi admitted as she rubbed her throat lightly. Beside her, Takeru's stomach gave off a small rumble.
"I'm hungry."
"Me too, me too!" Patamon joined in as he hovered up and down beside the small blonde's head.
"Then I guess we keeping heading forwards!" Taichi proclaimed and the rest of the group were quick to shout their agreements.
With an actual destination in their sights, the remaining walk didn't seem to be that hard for them now.
The village sat just underneath a small cluster of mountains with a very active volcano sitting right in the middle of them.
A lake sat at the base of the volcano and while there was no greenery the whole area gave off a feeling of peace.
A giant humanoid shape figure completely covered in flames stood beside the lake with his hand hovering the water. Steam was rising from the water and being absorbed into his hand.
It was a Meramon, a flame Adult Digimon.
After a couple of seconds, the Digimon released a long breath before pushing himself up to his feet.
"There. By the time it gets down to the village, it should be cool and clean enough to drink." Meramon murmured to himself in satisfaction before a loud crash distracted him.
Looking over to one of the mountains in front of him he watched in shock as a small part of the top was smashed off by a strange object. It was a small black disk and it was flying straight for him!
"What the-BURNING FIST!" The fire Digimon shouted as he punched forward releasing a medium sized fireball that space into the black object flying towards him.
It did nothing though and before Meramon released what was happening the black gear smashed straight into his chest and was quickly absorbed into his body.
There was nothing the fire Digimon could do, except scream as a horrifying pain filled his entire being.
"M-Meramon…Digivolve too…!" His voice growled out between his screams before his whole body was suddenly overcome by a wave of dark energy.
A loud howl of agony echoed through the area before a pair of burning red eyes opened from within the energy.
It turned out that the small village was just that.
Small.
The huts that were scattered all over the place barely made it to the older's thighs, there was also a well sitting in the centre of the village. Not far off though sat a huge lake of water with a half-sunk ship in the middle.
The group had barely stepped foot into the village before they found themselves surrounded by a mix of familiar looking pink Digimon and unfamiliar looking black blob Digimon with leaves growing out of their heads.
"Wow! It's a whole village of Yokomon!" Taichi realized as the group was welcomed happily by the swarm of Digimon.
"But what's the other Digimon?" Sora questioned as she and Biyomon found themselves surrounded more so than the others; the little black ones reminded Sora of seeds that were just starting to grow.
"Those are Nyokimon Sora. They're our Fresh forms." Biyomon explained as she allowed a couple of Nyokimon to circle around her in fascination.
"Oh! I know where we are! This must be Scorching Heat Village!" Tentamon suddenly called out as he and Koushirou wandered around.
"That's right! This village is here for wandering Digimon to take a break before they continue on their journey." A slightly purple coloured Yokomon explained as the group mingled around the village.
"So take the chance to rest strange looking Digimon, and help yourself to some water." The Yokomon continued before Sora caught on to what he was saying.
"Strange looking-We're not Digimon!" She objected and Biyomon nodded in agreement before she waved her wing over to Sora proudly.
"That's right! They call themselves human beings. Nyokimon, Yokomon this is my partner Sora and her friends." Biyomon introduced
"This place reminds me of a story my Mama used to tell me before bedtime! It's so cute!" Mimi squeaked as she looked around with glittering eyes. The hut looked like tiny dollhouses.
"I was hoping we could take shelter here for the night but it seems like it won't be possible," Yamato muttered as he slipped his hands into his pockets with a sigh.
"We won't even be able to fit in these huts." Koushirou murmured in agreement as he slowly circled around the group.
"We will!" Patamon objected as he flapped his wings beside Takeru.
"You guys might, but us humans won't." Koushirou retorted and Patamon lowered himself back to the ground sheepishly.
"Biyomon! Biyomon!"
"How did you manage to digivolve?"
"I was able to digivolve with Sora's help! Her friendship with me is what gives me strength!" Biyomon boasted to the group of Digimon as Sora allowed herself to sit down just off to the right with a sigh.
"So you need a human being to Digivolve?"
"You talk funny! Are we going to all talk like when we digivolve?"
"I shouldn't think so. You should be able to digivolve naturally when the time comes. I was just lucky to have found Sora. I digivolved to save her life!"
Sora balanced her chin on her hands as she listened to Biyomon talk to the small group of Digimon.
The image of Taichi being attacked by Shellmon before Agumon Digivolved flashed through her mind before it was replaced with Yamato hugging a frozen Gabumon before he too Digivolved.
'When we're in danger they digivolve but if we become injured they de-digivolve. That means they are completely reliant on us to get stronger." Sora thought to herself before she bit her lip as Biyomon continued on with her stories.
'I don't think I'm comfortable with that.' She was forced out of her thoughts as she felt something poke at her lightly. Looking beside her revealed it to be one of Biyomon's claws.
"Sora~! They said we're welcome to stay as long as we want, they said they'll even supply us food!" Biyomon happily reported and despite her misgivings, Sora couldn't stop her smile.
"That's great! It would be nice to just stay put for at least a day to catch our breaths!" Sora said happily and the other kids all murmured their agreement.
"Maybe this way we can find out what foods available in this world too." Koushriou pointed out to Yamato, who nodded quietly in agreement.
"Water! There's water!" Takeru suddenly cheered as he took off running towards the middle of the village. Sure enough, there was a stone well which had a small sprout of water coming out of the middle.
"Oh! Would you mind if we had some?" Joe asked the couple of Yokomon that was still near his feet. When they nodded Joe jogged over to Takeru quickly with Gomamon in his arms.
"Here you go, Gomamon," Joe said quietly as he knelt down and carefully placed the Digimon into the water, who released a happy sigh of relief.
"Thanks, Joe!" The seal Digimon cried out in gratitude and Joe relaxed seeing the hyper Digimon quickly starting to act like himself.
"This well is connected to the water source by Mihirashi Mountain!" The bluish-purple Yokomon explained as it jumped onto the wall.
"I've heard of it! This water is said to be the most delicious water in all of the Digital World, due to where its source!" Tentamon described from where he was standing beside Takeru.
"From Mihirashi Mountain right?" Koushriou asked and the pink bulb Digimon all nodded in agreement.
"Mihirashi Mountain is the mountain that keeps us protected from the volcano! There's a lake sitting in the middle and that 's where our water comes from. The guardian makes it so the water is safe for us to drink." A different Yokomon explained, this one more of a darker pink as they all nodded to the giant mountain towering above us.
"That's a volcano? Is it active?!" Joe squawked in panic, especially as he spotted smoke coming from behind the Mountain in front of them.
"Of course! Ice comes down from Mihirashi and settles at the base of the volcano, it then melts at such a fast pace it boils. So the guardian uses the heat to purify the water before taking the heat into himself. It then comes to us through the underground well." Yokomon explained causing Kourshirou to nod in understanding.
"I get it. When you collect water from dirty places you need to purify it, boiling it is one of the more simpler ways to achieve that."
"Is everyone ignoring the fact we are sitting underneath a very active volcano which can blow at any second?!" Joe cried out as he clenched his black hair in his hands looking slightly crazed.
"Joe-san! Calm down alright? I'm sure that guardian they keep bringing up is the one who stops the volcano from erupting. Right?" Taichi asked the Yokomon quietly as Sora coaxed Joe to let go of his hair and take deep breathes.
"Oh yes! Meramon would never let that volcano hurt us. Everyone, who lives on or underneath Mihirashi are under his protection." Yokomon reassured with a smile.
"See?" Both Taichi and Sora said simultaneously as Joe took a few deep breaths. He nodded to show he understood before he was tackled to the floor by a soaking wet Gomamon.
"You need to chill out Joe." The impish Digimon giggled and all Joe could do was groan. Sora and Taichi looked at each other before they started laughing.
It was peaceful until that peace was shattered by the sound of the water sprout spluttering to a stop.
"Huh?" Sora was the first one to voice the group's confusion as they watched the water in the well quickly drained away.
The ground suddenly started shaking violently sending the group of children and Digimon to the ground just before a huge tower of fire blasted out of the well.
"Sora!" Taichi yelped as he quickly grabs the girl by her shoulders and pulls her further away from the heat.
"Takeru! Get away!" Yamato yelled at the same time as he picked his little brother up and stepped back; besides him, Joe was screaming as he scuttled backwards on his behind with Gomamon held tightly in her arms.
"I thought you said the volcano would never hurt you!" Joe accused as the Yokomon and Nyokimon huddled together in fear.
"It shouldn't do that though! The guardian protects us!" A bright pink Yokomon objected as two Nyokimon huddled close either side of her.
"Look we need to put out the fire otherwise someone is going to get hurt." Yamato pointed out as he held Takeru behind him.
"You can get water from the lake." The bluish-purple Yokomon reassured as he started hopping over to where the lake sat.
"Well then let's go then," Taichi said as he grabbed hold of the bucket that was sitting beside the well. It was slightly warm from the heat of the fire but nothing he couldn't handle.
He didn't even get a chance to move though as the cries of the Yokomon echoed back to them from the edge of the lake. Quickly Taichi ran over only to gasp in shock.
Where the lake once sat was now a giant crater.
"It's so hot! I wish I could put my hat on." Daisuke whined as he swiped the back of his hand against his forehead with a sigh.
"Just bear with it a little longer. We're almost there." Leomon promised as he led them through the desert with confident steps. Despite looking like a giant lion the heat wasn't bothering him at all.
Veemon sighed as he tried to fan some air to his face with his hand without much success. The heat usually didn't bother him but something about this place made it impossible for him to ignore. It was like the heat didn't care what type of Digimon walked through it, it would make you feel its power no matter what.
Blinking slightly in shock at his thoughts Veemon shook his head firmly. He was assuming the desert was alive, the heat must be getting to him.
"Aniki definitely went this way right?" Daisuke had to ask again despite knowing the answer was going to be the same. He was feeling really uncomfortable, and sticky and it was a feeling Daisuke didn't like.
"Yes. Look here." Leomon ordered as he crouched down and pointed at something in front of him. Daisuke blinked before looking down only to blink in shock.
It was a footprint. A human footprint.
"There's been faint traces of their tracks since we entered the desert. The fact you can see this one means they stopped here for a bit before continuing on." Leomon explained as he straightened up.
"We're getting close. You'll be with them soon, I promise." Leomon said in reassurance causing Daisuke to smile brightly before he nodded.
"Un!"
Thankfully the fire bursting out of the well came to a stop causing the group to relax. Though they made sure to stay away from it as the fire seems to be coming out in random bursts.
"Has this ever happened before?" Yamato asked the Yokomon that had gathered in front of them.
"No. The Guardian has kept us safe as long as we can remember." The purple coloured Yokomon explained softly.
"Why would the guardian forsake us? Did we do something wrong?" The bright pink Yokomon questioned causing mummers to go across the group.
"Nyokimon knows! Nyokimon knows!" A Nyokimon cried out as he started bouncing in place along with the one beside it.
"Knows what?" Taichi questioned as he watched the two bounce forward before they started circling the purple Yokomon.
"We saw it!"
"We did!"
"Something big!"
"Something black!"
"Something scary!"
"And dark!"
"Nyokimon saw it!"
"Fly across the sky!"
"Then crash!"
"Straight into the mountain!" The two finished together as the kids struggled to keep track of what they were saying.
"Something black?" Joe questioned as he scratched the back of his head.
"And it flew?" Mimi continued as she nibbled on her lip slightly. Koushirou suddenly gasped as he lightly slammed his right fist into his left palm.
"We saw it too! When we were leaving the forest earlier today!"
"The black gear!" Yamato exclaimed as he realised what the two Nyokimon were describing. Sora sighed as she looked at the group in worry.
"But what does it crashing into Mihirashi Mountain have to do with what's happening down here?" Sora pointed out reasonably.
"Why don't you just accept that the volcano is erupting and we need to move?!" Joe cried out as he frantically flapped his arm towards the mountain.
"The Guardian would never let such a thing happen!" Yokomon protested loudly with a furious glare as Taichi pulled out his spyglass from his pocket.
"Let's have a look," Taichi mumbled to himself as he ignored the argument that Joe has started with the Yokomon and focused on the mountain.
"Well, it sure looks like its erupting!" Taichi interrupted as saw a huge tower of fire blast from the top of the mountain.
"Wait what's that strange light coming down?" He continued as he spotted some sort of light breaking away from the tower of flames and moving down the mountain.
"Let me see?" Yamato requested and accepted the spyglass when Taichi passed it to him without objection. Focusing on the mountain Yamato quickly found the strange light Taichi was describing.
"It…it looks like a figure on fire?" Yamato explained sceptically as he looked back at the group. The Yokomon suddenly started celebrating causing the children to jump.
"What? What is it?" Taichi questioned as he watched the Digimon dance around with each other while cheering.
"It's the Guardian! Guardian Meramon is coming down to help us!" The purple coloured Yokomon explained joyfully even as the fountain continued to sprout fire.
"Meramon?" Koushirou asked but the Yokomon just continued to celebrate.
"Meramon is a Flame Adult Digimon! It's completely covered in flames and has a very bad temper and when angered it tries to integrate everything it touches!" Tentomon explained as he hovered near Koushirou's head.
"That's the Guardian?! He doesn't sound like someone who would go out of his way to protect someone!" Joe protested as Yamato and Taichi traded a look.
"I guess it must be really hot then if its flames are blue." Yamato sighed but blinked as the Yokomon stopped suddenly.
"Did you say blue flames?" The purple Yokomon demanded faintly, all happiness from early quickly being replaced by panic.
"Yeah, the light he was given off was blue. Right?" Yamato confirmed to Taichi who nodded in agreement, the light he had seen had been blue too.
"Then that's not our Guardian!" Yokomon whispered causing the group to blink in shock.
"What? Then who is it?" Sora questioned as she tried to ignore how the air seemed to be growing hotter.
"If what your describing is true then the Digimon coming down the mountain is BlueMeramon, a Perfect Digimon!" Yokomon stuttered fearfully as the village started panicking around him.
"A Perfect Digimon?!" Agumon, Gabumon and Biyomon cried out together as the children tensed at the blatant fear the Digimon were projecting.
"Agumon?" Taichi questioned as he slipped his spyglass back into his pocket.
"Gabumon what's going on?"
"Biyomon?" Sora whispered as the pink bird turned to her with a frown.
"Sora, a Perfect Digimon is the next level a Digimon can reach after becoming an Adult. It's near impossible though and it takes a lot of training to reach it." Biyomon explained and Sora swallowed hard as she saw her Digimon shake ever slightly.
'She's…scared…?'
"What I mean to say is that Perfect level Digimon are very, very powerful. There's no way we'd be able to defeat one with just two Adult Digimon."
"Then we need to evacuate the village," Taichi said as he placed his hands on Agumon's shoulder to steady the clearly shaken dinosaur.
"Agumon can you fight?" Taichi quietly asked his partner causing him to look at him in shock.
"Taichi?"
"I know its stronger than you but we just need to hold it back till everyone gets to safety," Taichi explained causing Agumon to swallow hard. When he looked at Taichi though his eyes narrowed in determination and he clenched his hands tightly.
"Then yes, for you Taichi I can fight!" Agumon growled causing Taichi to grin widely in return before he grabbed his headband and goggles from where they were resting on his neck and slipped them onto his head with a snap.
"Tai?" Sora questioned as Taichi pulled his Digivice off his belt and turned towards the group, his face set in a determined frown.
"We need to get the Yokomon and Nyokimon to safety, the boat should be safe enough for them till this passes."
"Taichi-san?" Koushirou questioned as he picked Tentamon up from the group and held the Digimon tightly.
"Me and Agumon will hold him back for as long as we can."
"Alone? You'll be killed!" Sora objected as quickly caught on to what Taichi was planning.
"He won't be alone." Yamato suddenly said as he traded a look with Gabumon, who nodded with a small smile.
"Gabumon and I will be here to back him up." Yamato finished with a smirk as he pulled out his own Digivice from his pocket.
"Yamato…" Taichi whispered before he grinned and nodded.
"Sora I'm putting my trust you again. Please protect Takeru." Yamato requested causing Sora to swallow hard.
"Please Sora, get them to safety while we hold this guy back." Taichi pleaded and Sora couldn't stop herself from laughing softly.
"I can see right through you, Tai. Getting me to safety while making it seem like I'm doing something to help." Sora teasingly scowled as Taichi rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment.
"You caught me!" He laughed before he grinned at her
"Keep them safe, okay? We'll be with you as soon as we can." Taichi swore and Sora nodded as she grabbed hold of Takeru's wrist tightly.
"You better."
"Listen to Sora, Takeru and be brave," Yamato ordered softly as Takeru went to object. The small blonde licked his lips before he nodded.
"I will!"
"Everyone! Follow me to the ship, we need to take shelter!" Sora called out as she and Biyomon started running with the rest of the children quickly following them.
The ground rumbled as BlueMeramon hit the ground and the boys could hear the scream he let out as he set fire to the forest between them.
"Are you sure about this?" Taichi asked as Agumon moved in front of him with a growl. Through the flames, BlueMeramon came charging through.
"Like you could do this on your own." Yamato scoffed but with a small smirk as Gabumon stood beside Agumon.
"Let's do this then!" Taichi called out just as his and Yamato's Digivices let out familiar screeches.

With courage clear in his eyes Taichi grabbed his Digivice from his belt before he swiped it in the air in front of him. Yamato stood with his eyes closed, his face expressionless. Suddenly his right hand shot up revealing his Digivice held between his two main fingers.
Taichi thrust the device into the air as it started to hum. Eyes the colour of ice snapped opened as the blonde chucked the device lightly in the air and then caught with his palm, making sure to keep it in the same position as before.
"Lock on!" Both Taichi and Yamato called out just as Taichi's turned orange and Yamato's turned blue. It last a couple of seconds before beams of the same colour shot out and struck both Agumon and Gabumon in the chest.
"Digivolution activate!" The two boys shouted as the two Digimon began to roar loudly in sync.
Slowly Agumon felt himself stretching and growing, his skin became a dark orange with blue marks and his arms became shorter. Gabumon felt his body begin to change drastically; it stretched and pulled until he was forced to stand on four legs.
A brown skull with a horn appeared on the top of the dinosaurs head as he grew till he was 9ft in height. The wolf's pelt seemed to grow before it covered him completely and fused with his body.
"Agumon…"
"Gabumon…"
"…Digivolve too…"
"...GREYMON!" With a loud roar, fire seemed to burst from the earth around him before Greymon easily swiped it away with his tail.
"…GARURUMON!" Icy mist seemed to float around the white and blue wolf before he released a loud roar that made the earth shake.

"Burning! I'm burning!" BlueMeramon screamed as it continued to charge forward, ignoring the two Adult Digimon now standing in front of him.
"MEGA FLAME!"
"FOX FIRE!"
Greymon and Garurumon shouted as they fired their attacks at the charging Perfect Digimon causing him to fall backwards with a scream of shock.
Down below in the dried up lake Koushirou and Sora were guiding the villagers into the sunken ship while Joe guided them down ledges that were small enough together to form stairs.
"Come on, get inside!" Sora ordered as Mimi and Takeru quickly rushed through the giant opening that leads them inside the ship. The Yokomon and Nyokimon charged through in a small wave of pink and black.
"Hurry up, quickly!" Koushirou called as he stood the opposite side of the opening waving them through. The ground shook violently as Greymon and Garurumon started to push BlueMeramon back.
"Come on, watch your step!" Takeru called as he and Mimi led the way to the bow of the ship. The two gasped for breath as the Yokomon and Nyokimon quickly started filling up all the space on the slightly tilted deck.
Now on the high ground once more the two could see Greymon and Garurumon fight against BlueMeramon furiously.
"Onii-chan, Garurumon…" Takeru whispered quietly as he hugged Patamon close to his chest causing the Digimon to squeak slightly from the tight grip.
"I hate this!" Mimi suddenly cried out causing the two to jump slightly from shock. Looking at the much older girl Takeru was shocked to see tears were rapidly falling from her eyes as she sniffled.
"Mimi…" Palmon whimpered sadly as she watched Mimi clenched her dress tightly in her hands.
"Why is it every time we stop for just a second we find ourselves attacked?!" Mimi continued before she viciously rubbed her arm across her eyes.
Greymon roared loudly before he slammed head first into BlueMeramon's chest sending the Digimon flying backwards with a scream that caused the children to wince slightly.
"FIRE WALL!" The dinosaur roared as he gathered up gas in the back of his throat before releasing a huge wave of fire that seemed to form a barrier in front of where the attacking Digimon landed.
"Do you think that will hold him?" Garurumon growled before snarling as Greymon shook his head negatively.
Greymon's production was proven true as BlueMeramon came flying through the wall of fire with a scream, his fist held forwards as it charged towards Greymon and punched him hard.
"Greymon!" Taichi screamed as the huge dinosaur was thrown backwards with a grunt from the force of the attack.
"Burning….I'M BURNING!" BlueMeramon screamed shrilly as Greymon pushed himself up shaking off the ice that had gathered across his helmet.
"Then allow me to help you with that!" Garurumon snarled before charging forward as his fangs glowed a bright white just before he bit down hard on BlueMeramon's arm.
The fire Digimon screamed once more as ice started gathering from where Garurumon had bit down before the wolf Digimon threw him to the ground.
"Is everyone else inside?" Joe demanded as he ran up to Sora and Koushirou with Gomamon held tightly in his arms.
"Yes I think so-" Sora cut herself off though as she realized there was one person she hadn't seen go through with the rest of the group.
"Biyomon…" She whispered before looking around frantically. She hadn't seen the bird Digimon go through with the group, she was sure of it so where was she? Finally spotting her Sora couldn't stop herself from gasping.
Biyomon was still at the top of the cliff, herding the last few Yokomon down the steps without a hint of fear for the battle that was happening a few feet away from her.
"Quickly everyone!" Biyomon called out as the last group of Yokomon started jumping down the stone steps with quick hops.
"You too, Biyomon! If you stay up here too long you'll be attacked too!" The purple coloured Yokomon huffed as they brought up the rear of the wave of Digimon.
"I'll be fine! I'd rather be up here and helping my friends than running for my own sake!" Biyomon reassured as she nudged the Yokomon down the steps with the rest.
"That idiot…she's going to get hurt!" Sora exclaimed before she narrowed her eyes and took off running back towards the steps.
"Sora!" Joe yelped in shock as he reached out to stop her but missed by an inch.
"Sora-san! Come back!" Koushirou shouted out as the last few Yokomon ran into the ship leaving just them and their Digimon outside.
"MEGA FLAME!" Greymon roared as he fired his attacked towards the charging Digimon but BlueMeramon simply jumped over the flames before holding out both his hands in front of him.
"COLD FLAME!" The Digimon screamed before firing what looked like blue coloured fireballs. When they hit the ground though instead of burning it they froze over small patches of it.
"FOX FIRE!" Garurumon roared as he took the chance to attack as the Digimon was distracted. BlueMeramon screamed once more as he was thrown backwards from the force of the attack.
"Burning….everything is BURNING!" BlueMermamon screamed hysterically as he jumped back to his feet and throwing himself forward with the momentum to punch Garurumon to the ground.
"I'M BURNING!"
"Why does he keep screaming that?" Taichi wondered as he and Yamato back away a couple of steps to avoid being hit by some stray attacks.
"What?" Yamato grunted as he tightened the grip on his Digivice and watched as Garurumon pushed himself to his feet as Greymon pushed BlueMeramon back once more.
"BURNING! BURNING! EVERYTHING IS BURNING!" BlueMeramon sobbed as he grabbed his head before releasing another screech quickly followed by another round of icy fireballs.
"That! He's a Fire Digimon right, so why would be burning?" Taichi pointed out as his own Digivice continued to glow and beep in his hand.
"ICE PHANTOM!" BlueMeramon called out as he once again aimed to punch Greymon. When his hit connected though Greymon couldn't help but cry out as it felt like his arm had just been frozen over.
"Greymon!" Taichi screamed out as his Digimon went down once more. Garurumon was quick to jump in front of the Digimon as he struggled to get back on his feet.
"You alright?" The wolf asked as the dinosaur slowly pushed himself up with a grunt, his right arm shaking slightly from his weight.
"I will be. It felt like I just got burnt but by ice instead of fire." Greymon grumbled as he finally pushed himself to his feet and quickly held his thumb up to his partner in reassurance.
His eyes widened in horror though as he realised BlueMeramon had spotted a new target to vent on.
"Damn it! Biyomon!" Greymon roared as he charged forward with Garurumon quickly following as he realised what had caught his attention.
Sora gasped for breath as she continued to run towards the steps in front of her, Biyomon still hadn't come down meaning Sora herself would have to go and get her.
"Biyomon! Biyomon!" She shouted as she tried to get the bird Digimon's attention without success. She gasped though as she spotted a blue glow coming up from behind her friend, who still hadn't noticed.
"Biyomon! BEHIND YOU!" Sora screamed desperately as she continued to run forward. Finally, Biyomon seemed to hear her and she quickly turned out just in time to see BlueMeramon pull back his fist.
"FROST KNUCKLE!" Biyomon screamed as she was struck hard in the chest sending her falling down into the small canyon. Sora though was ready and dived forward, catching the Digimon before she could strike the ground.
"Biyomon! Biyomon are you alright?!" Sora demanded breathlessly as she pushed herself up to her knees. Biyomon groaned softly before finally allowing her eyes to flutter open.
"Sora…you saved me?" She whispered breathlessly in shock. Sora blinked back her tears before she smiled happily.
"Of course I did, you're one of my best friends Biyomon!" Sora cried out before she hugged the Digimon tightly. Biyomon blinked in shock before she huddled the girl back with a smile.
"Sora~"
Above them, BlueMeramon screeched as it was struck once more by Garurumon's Fox Fire attack sending him to the ground.
"How dare you attack our friend!" The wolf growled as he skidded to a stop with his fur standing on edge. Greymon stamped up beside him with a growl as fire danced across his teeth.
"Burning…" BlueMermamon mumbled as Taichi and Yamato ran up from behind their partners.
"It seems like the villagers had made it to safety," Yamato mumbled as he took a peek over the side of the cliff. "Then we need to push him back so we can get to safety ourselves," Taichi said in determination as he adjusted his goggles slightly.
"Burning. EVERYTHING IS BURNING!" BlueMeramon suddenly screeched before it threw himself to his feet once more. "What?" Taichi gasped in shock as he and Yamato stumbled back. BlueMeramon screamed once more before jumping to avoid a brutal attacked from Garurumon.
"I'M BURNING!" BlueMeramon screeched before his body flashed a bright white causing the four to scream out in shock. "I can't see!" Greymon grunted as Garurumon shook his head viciously beside him. Taichi rubbed his eyes frantically.
"No! He's going to attack Sora!" Yamato yelled as the blurry image of BlueMeramon held his arms above his head.
"Burning! I'm BURNING!" He screeched as he forced a huge ball of ice above his head.
Down below Biyomon gasped as she caught sight of BlueMeramon on the edge of the cliff over Sora's shoulder.
"Sora!" The bird Digimon yelped as she pushed herself away from the girl and quickly jumped in front of the girl with a furious glare.
"ICE BOMB!"
"Run Sora!" Taichi screamed as his vision finally cleared just in time for BlueMeramon to throw his attack down into the canyon.
"V-BREATH ARROW!" A voice called out before a huge wave of white fire crashed into the ice bomb making it explode.
"What?!" Yamato cried out as she and Taichi were thrown to the ground by the force of the explosion. Sora screamed in shock as she and Biyomon were also thrown to the ground as water showered down on them.
"W-who did that?" Garurumon growled before someone landed behind him with a thump and let out a loud laugh.
"That was close!" Standing there was a blue Digimon that came up to Greymon's shoulder in height. He had two sharp horns coming from the top of his head and another one coming from his nose. His white chest had a blue coloured V scarred onto it and finally, his hands and feet had thick sharp claws coming out of them.
"Who are you?" Taichi demanded and the new Digimon laughed before sheepish while rubbing the back of his head.
"Me? I'm V-Dramon! It's nice to finally meet you Taichi!" V-Dramon grinned causing Taichi to blink in shock.
"How'd you know my name?" Taichi asked as pushed himself to his feet before offering a hand to Yamato.
"My partner told me of course! We've been looking for you for a while now. Come on don't hide now, this is what you wanted isn't it?"V-Dramon seemingly asked his shoulder before Taichi noticed a small hand holding on tightly to one of the blue spikes sticking out of the dragon's neck.
"Partner?" Yamato asked as the owner of the hand relaxed their grip and jumped to the ground with a small huff.
Taichi's eyes widened though as he saw the familiar burgundy hair that spiked in all directions, the pair of mocha coffee eyes that were quickly filling with tears and finally the pair of square goggles resting around the boy's neck.
Standing in front of him, with a Digimon who had just saved their lives was…
"Daisuke…" Taichi finally chocked out and that was all the boy in front of him needed before throwing himself at the older boy with a sob.
"Aniki!"
Catching the boy easily Taichi hugged him back just as tightly as he felt something tight finally unwind from his chest.
"Daisuke…I can't believe it…" Taichi chocked out as he tightened his hold on his little brother.
"It really is you! He wasn't lying, you are here!" Daisuke whimpered as he hugged Taichi back with equal force. Sadly their reunion was broken as BlueMeramon gave off a loud scream.
"Taichi!" Yamato called out as Greymon quickly slammed his horn into BlueMeramon's chest once more sending him back before he blasted by V-Dramon's V Arrow attack.
"Get to safety! We won't be able to hold this guy off much longer!" Garurumon snarled as he nudged Yamato slightly towards the steps beside them.
"Are you sure?" Taichi asked as he pushed Daisuke away slightly before grabbing hold of his hand.
"Don't worry about us! Just go!" Greymon roared as he caught BlueMeramon's punch in his own hand and held him in place for Garurumon to fire his own attack.
"Are you alright Sora?" Biyomon asked as the two of them pushed themselves back to their feet. Sora hummed as she dusted herself off.
"I'm fine."
"Sora!" The girl heard causing her to look behind her in confusion. Taichi, Yamato and Daisuke quickly jumped off the last step and started to run to where the two of them were.
"Taichi! Yamato-kun!" Sora cried out happily before pausing as she spotted the little boy Taichi was holding onto tightly with his hand. "Daisuke-chan?" She whispered quietly before running forward and hugging the boy tightly, causing him to release a startled squeak.
"Sora-onee-san!" Daisuke stammered with a slight blush spread across his cheeks as his arms waved uselessly in the air.
"We've been so worried about you! Are you alright?" Sora demanded after pulling back and looking over the boy quickly. She was relieved to note other than a few scratches and already healed over scraps he seemed fine.
"I'm fine now I've found you all!" Daisuke reassured with a smile causing both Taichi and Sora to smile back in return. The happy moment though was once again ruined by a loud crash from above them.
"BURNING! I'M BURNING!"
"This guy doesn't know when to quit!" Taichi grunted as he spotted BlueMeramon once again near the edge above them despite their Digimon's best efforts to lead him away.
"I can't believe the differences in strengths in them is this big! Their attacks just don't seem to be doing anything at all!" Yamato growled angrily as he watched Garurumon attempt to bit BlueMeramon once more only to be thrown away.
Biyomon narrowed her eyes as she watched Greymon smash into BlueMeramon with his Horn Attack before the new blue dragon Digimon followed up that attack with his own fire blast.
"Because they're not doing anything!" Biyomon suddenly blurted out as she watched BlueMeramon stood up without a hint of injury.
"What?!" Yamato shouted as he looked towards the battle in time to watch Garurumon bit down hard on BlueMeramon's leg before the fire Digimon was blasted back by Greymon's Mega Flame attack. Just like before the fire Digimon rouse to his feet without a hint of injury.
"He's a fire Digimon!" Taichi suddenly cried out as he slapped his forehead in realisation. He didn't even have to explain before both Yamato and Sora caught his train of thought.
"Fire can't hurt him…!" Sora whispered fearfully as V-Dramon was thrown away before BlueMeramon turned and punched Garurumon to the ground and out of sight.
"Every time they use fire attacks, he just uses it to power himself up!" Yamato growled as he realised that was how the Perfect Digimon seemed to keep getting back up. Thanks to the multiple fire attacks he'd not only healed himself but also restored his energy to keep fighting.
Their Digimon, on the other hand, were both injured and exhausted.
"What about when they attack him?" Daisuke suddenly asked as he grabbed hold of Taichi's wrist and gave it a small tug.
"What do you mean?"
"Well when that orange dinosaur slammed into it, didn't that hurt it? Or when the wolf bit it? Why not just use those attacks instead?" Daisuke guessed as he tried to explain his thoughts while missing a lot of information.
"How are we going to tell them that though? They won't be able to hear us down here." Yamato pointed out and Biyomon quickly raised her wing.
"I'll tell them!"
"What?! No! You can't!" Sora objected immediately as she quickly wrapped her arms around her partner to stop her from flying off.
"But Sora-"
"No buts! You've already been attacked by that thing once, and look what happened!" Sora continued even as Biyomon struggled against her hold.
"Sora please-"
"I won't watch you get hurt again!"
"So you're going to make me watch my clutch siblings get hurt instead?!" Biyomon suddenly screamed causing to Sora to let go of her in shock.
"Biyomon…"
"Please Sora! Let me help them!" Biyomon begged desperately and Sora could only stare at the Digimon in complete shock.
"Do you hear it? The call of your Partner's heart?" A soft feminine voice suddenly whispered causing Sora to jump.
"What?" Sora gasped just as her Digivice gave off a loud screech and she and Biyomon were surrounded by a bright blinding light.
"Sora-onee-san!" Daisuke shouted before he was held back by Taichi and Yamato covered his eyes slightly.
"Is this what happened to us?" He asked himself quietly as the Digimon continued to fight above them.
Sora allowed her eyes to flutter open before gasping as she looked around frantically. She was no longer in the middle of a dried up lake, instead, she stood in a forest of Cherry blossom trees.
"Where am I?" Sora whispered to herself as she held out her hand and watched as a cherry blossom settled in her palm. She felt strangely at peace here.
"This is your heart." The same voice from before whispered through the trees causing Sora desperately to look around for the source.
"Who are you? And what do you mean 'my heart'?"
"Exactly that. This is your heart, the place where you are you." The voice continued on causing Sora to blink slightly.
"Where I am me? What do you mean?" Sora questioned as she placed her hand on her chest.
"I mean just that. Here is where the very core that is you recedes. The very thing that leads your actions, your habits, what makes you like certain things but dislike others. All of that combined is you." The voice summarized in a soft but aloof manner.
"Why am I here then?" Sora finally asked and she was rewarded with a soft laugh.
"Because your heart finally heard your partner's cries, the cries that you have been unconsciously blocking since you realised how close she was getting."
"No! That's not-" Sora objected immediately to the accusation.
"You can't lie here, child. You're someone who gives Love freely to everyone around them, but when someone tries to return that love you retreat away from it." Sora swallowed as she clenched her hand tightly on her top.
"That's…"
"It's nothing to be ashamed of. It's something that protects you after all but be warned that if you block yourself off too much you'll find that love you give so freely will soon to hate." The voice warned and Sora couldn't help the tears that filled her eyes.
"That's…what an awful thought."
"Yes but even the warmest of hearts can become cold when they are alone."
"But I'm not alone!" Sora objected as she shook her head negatively.
"I have my friends, my Okaa-san and…and I have Biyomon now too." Sora listed quietly before she took a deep breath, whipped her eyes before glaring in front of her with determined dark red eyes.
"I have Biyomon and as long as I have her I won't allow my heart to go dark!" Sora stated passionately before her chest started to feel strangely warm.
"Congratulation, child. You've proved yourself worthy as a Chosen of Love." The voice praised as Sora looked down and saw a red glow coming from her heart.
"Chosen of Love?" Sora questioned but the voice ignored her and continued on.
"Now you will be able to grant your partner's wishes. Or at least, the one wish her heart is crying out for to be granted." Sora swallowed hard as Biyomon's voice echoed around her head.
"Please Sora! Let me help them!"
"But…how? What do I have to do?!" Sora questioned as she cupped her hands together over her heart.
"Foolish child. You already know what to do."
And strangely Sora did know exactly what to do.
(Activate OST Digimon Adventure – Brave Heart)
Sora had her hands clasped in front of her chest with her eyes closed softly, a content smile on her face. Suddenly maroon coloured eyes snapped open and her face fell into a determined frown as her right arm snapped so her hand was just below her chin and her left hand went flat against her heart.
"Lock on!" Sora called out and the Digivice in her right palm flashed a red for a couple of seconds before a beam of the same colour shot out and struck Biyomon in the chest.
"Digivolution activate!" Sora ordered and Biyomon screamed as she was overcome by the bright red glow.
Fire seemed to burst out from the ground as Biyomon felt her form stretch and change shape. Her wings grew huge and her body turned agiler. Teeth burst from her beak as her feathers changed from pink into fiery red and orange.
"Biyomon…Digivolve too…BIRDRAMON!" With a loud screech Birdramon spread her wings out and a wave of fire seemed to fly off of each feather turning the air hot with steam.

"Biyomon Digivolved!" Taichi cried out triumphantly as the light cleared away revealing Birdramon before she took flight with a loud screech.
"Sora-onee-san is so cool!" Daisuke laughed as he bounced in place from beside his older brother and besides him, Yamato huffed slightly with a smirk.
"Birdramon…" Sora whispered breathlessly as she held her Digivice tightly in her hand.
"Sora thank you. Thank you for letting me fight with my clutch brothers." Birdramon called down to her partner before she took off into the sky.
"Biyomon Digivolved!" On the deck of the ship, the Yokomon and Nyokimon were beside themselves with excitement at Biyomon's new Adult form.
"Amazing!" Koushirou whispered softly to himself before Koushirou tugged on his shorts slightly to get his attention.
"That is Birdramon an Adult Giant Bird Digimon! She is one of many Digimon that received their power from the Great Firewall! When she flaps her wings she releases sparks that are big enough to burn up entire forests!" Tentamon recited as spall orange sparks seem to fly off of Birdramon's wings everytime she flapped them.
"Great Firewall?" Koushirou questioned as the familiar word caught his attention.
"That's right, Koushirou-han! In fact, Meramon is another Digimon that receives his power from the Great Firewall, you could say the two of them are cut from the same cloth."
"METEOR WING!" Birdramon shouted as she swung her wings out in front of her and released a wave of burning feathers that crashed in front of BlueMeramon forcing him to stop.
"What?" Greymon grunted before the three Adult Digimon looked up just in time to see Birdramon land softly beside Garurumon.
"If we want to actually take damage we're going to have to stick to physical attacks. Nothing with fire, he's just using it to heal himself." Birdramon quickly as her friends took the chance to catch their breaths.
"I'M BURNING! MAKE IT STOP! PUT OUT THE FIRE!" BlueMeramon screamed as he backed away from the wall of fire Birdramon made with his arms raised to cover his face.
"Why does he keep screaming that?" V-Dramon grunted as BlueMeramon continued to desperately fight against the flames.
"We don't know, he's been doing it since he came down here though." Greymon explained and Garurumon grunted in agreement.
BlueMeramon gave off another scream as he curled in on himself while scratching at his chest desperately.
"Burning! Make it stop!" The Digimon whimpered before he threw his head back and screamed once more while firing his Cold Flame attack towards the group.
"CUTTER SHOOT!" V-Dramon shouted as she slashed his claws in the air releasing a series of blades made out of wind. They slammed into BlueMeramon causing him to scream as he was thrown into the ground.
"Wait! What's that?!" Birdramon suddenly demanded as she noticed something poking out of BlueMeramon's chest as he slowly forced himself up.
"Something black." Gaururmon described before his eyes widened and he looked over at Greymon who's eyes had also widened.
"The black gear!" Both of them shouted in shock as they watched the black gear once again retreat inside BlueMeramon causing him to scream.
"That's what's causing this! That's why he's in so much pain, it's the black gear!" Garurumon went out as they watched BlueMeramon screech up to the sky in agony.
"Then if we get it out of him, he should stop attacking us right?" V-Dramon demanded before he jumped back to avoid a punch thrown by the fire Digimon.
"BURNING! I'M BURNING!"
"Then let us help with that! Everyone, make sure to his chest!" Greymon ordered before he charged forward and slammed his horn into BlueMeramon's chest.
"BODY BLOW!" Garurumon howled before he slammed himself into BlueMeramon causing him to cry out as he was thrown into V-Dramon's path.
"HAMMER PUNCH!" The blue dragon shouted as his fist was surrounded by a white light that he slammed straight into BlueMeramon's chest.
BlueMeramon screech in agony as he once again curled in on himself. Another scream escaped from him before something tore out of his back with a loud whirring sound.
"Birdramon!" Greymon shouted out in warning as the Black Gear flew into the air. Birdramon narrowed her eyes before she took flew high in the air before swinging her wings.
"METEOR WING!" She shouted as her feathers flew straight into the Black Gear and exploded with a loud boom. The dust cleared and the phoenix Digimon screech triumphantly as the Black Gear turned to dust in the air.
BlueMeramon screamed out one final time before he glowed a bright white light and started to shrink. When the light finally cleared it the blue flames had disappeared leaving Meramon behind.
"He de-digivolved," V-Dramon whispered in awe before he reached out to steady the fire Digimon when he swayed slightly where he stood.
"T-thank you," Meramon grunted in gratitude as he gasped for breath. He forced himself to take a deep breath before opening his eyes revealing them to be a deep blue.
"Thank you for freeing me." He finished and the group of Adult Digimon allowed themselves to finally relax.
It was over.
"Biyomon! I'm so glad you're alright!" Sora whimpered as she hugged the pink bird Digimon tightly causing her to laugh.
"Thank you, Sora! Thank you for helping me fight!" Biyomon said in gratitude as she hugged the girl back just as tightly.
"Of course! I couldn't just ignore what your heart was telling me." Sora whispered happily and Biyomon couldn't help but giggle happily.
"Sora, I love you!"
"So you're a V-Mon huh? You're really strong!" Agumon commented as he and his fellow Digimon circled slightly around the newest addition in curiosity.
"Thank you for the help back there," Gabumon said in gratitude causing V-mon to laugh sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"It was nothing! Don't worry about and it's great to meet you all!"
"Daisuke-kun! So you ended up here after all! It's great to see you!" Takeru shouted as he pounced on the boy and hugged him tightly.
"T-Takeru! I can't breathe!" Daisuke protested but despite his protests, he hugged the blonde back with a smile.
Taichi smiled as he watched Daisuke very quickly settle in with the group before he returned his attention to Meramon who was now surrounded by the Yokomon and Nyokimon.
"Are you alright now Meramon?"
"You were acting so strange!"
"You even Digivolved!"
"What happened?" The purple coloured Yokomon asked in concern as Meramon carefully rubbed the middle of his chest.
"That black gear came out from behind me and smashed into me. I felt something twist in me and then it goes dark. Did you just say I Digivolved?" Meramon questioned and sighed when the Yokomon nodded.
"So the black gear forced him to Digivolve?" Koushirou guessed as he rubbed his chin slightly in thought.
"If he was fighting it, then it would explain why it sounded like he was in pain the whole time." Taichi pointed out and Koushirou nodded in silent agreement.
"Why do you look so sad Meramon?" The purple Yokomon questioned. Meramon sighed once more before he bowed his head to Yokomon.
"Please forgive my actions! I'm mean to protect you and instead…" Meramon growled to himself before he cut himself off while shaking his head.
"It's alright, Meramon."
"But Master Yokomon-" Meramon tried to inject but he was cut off by the purple coloured Yokomon shaking his body like one would shake their head.
"We forgive you, Meramon. Everyone makes mistakes, even guardians." Yokomon, who the children realised was the head of the village, reassured with a smile. When Meramon looked around in shock the Villagers all cheered in agreement.
"Everyone…" Meramon whispered in shock before he felt something rub against his leg. When he looked down he saw it was Nyokimon who smiled when he saw him looking.
"Please keep protecting us and Mihirashi Mountain, Guardian Meramon!" The Nyokimon squeaked at him happily. Meramon swallowed hard before returning the smile with one of his own.
"Okay. I will."
After recording Meramon returned to his place on top of the mountain, saying that he needed to get the water flowing again as soon as possible. He was sent off by the village with a smile as they cheered for him happily.
It was then that they remembered they had offered to let the group stay for the night and quickly got to work preparing to food for everyone.
"How did you find us Daisuke? I've been looking for you since we ended up here." Taichi asked as he watched Daisuke dig through his newly returned backpack.
"I had help. Another Digimon was helping us but he disappeared when we saw you guys needed help." Daisuke admitted before making a triumph noise as he pulled out his opened chocolate bar.
"You have food in there?!" Taichi yelped in shock as V-mon cheered and ran over with a happy grin recognising the smell instantly.
"Only a couple of bars!" Daisuke protested as he broke off a couple of pieces and handed them over to his excited Digimon. Seeing Taichi pout Daisuke giggled before breaking off another couple of pieces and handed them off too.
"Thanks, Daisuke!" Both V-mon and Taichi chimed together as Daisuke handed two more pieces to a curious Agumon before eating the last two pieces himself.
"What is it?" Agumon grunted in confusion especially as he saw that it was quickly melting over his claws. Deciding to follow his partner's lead Agumon quickly ate the piece only for his eyes to widen in shock.
"Yummy!"
"Right?" V-mon laughed in agreement as the dinosaur Digimon got to work on cleaning the chocolate off his claws.
"Here you go!" A Yokomon suddenly chirped as bowls were quickly handed out to everyone around the village.
Taichi blinked as he looked down at what they were given as V-mon and Agumon quickly dug in with happy noises. Inside was a pile of grains, it reminded Taichi of uncooked rice.
"Aniki, is it alright to eat this?" Daisuke asked as he looked at his own bowl uncertainty. Around him, the rest of the children were doing the same thing while the Digimon happily dug in with enthusiasm.
"What's wrong Sora? It's delicious!" Biyomon reassured with grains stuck around her beak. Sora frowned as she looked up from her bowl the dubiously.
"Are you sure this is safe for us to eat?"
"It sure doesn't look like it!" Mimi piped up as she watched Palmon shovel the food into her mouth in disgust.
"But…" Takeru murmured quietly before his stomach gave off a loud rumble.
"Even though it looks gross, I'll eat it anyway!" Takeru declared before he shoved a mouthful in his mouth. His eyes widened in shock though as he quickly chewed and swallowed before turning to face his brother with a giant smile.
"It tastes just like cereal without the milk!"
"Really?" Yamato asked sceptically before he shrugged and followed his little brother's example. He found he was telling the truth, it did remind him of eating cereal without the milk.
"Can't go on with an empty stomach! Eat up, Daisuke!" Taichi advised before he slipped his gloves off and started eating. After a bit of hesitation, Daisuke soon followed in suite.
"Seriously you guys?" Sora demanded before she looked over to where Joe was sitting beside Gomamon with his own bowl. When he caught her looking he shrugged after swallowing his mouthful.
"It's not so bad if you chew it a lot." He reassured causing Sora to sigh and shake her head in exasperation.
She couldn't help but smile though as he watched Biyomon eat her grains with a happiness clear on her face.
'Biyomon Digivolved because I heard her what she wanted in her heart. They rely on us to get stronger but we rely on them to keep us safe…' Sora thought to herself before her eyes softened as she looked down at her bowl of grains.
'…Maybe that isn't such a bad thing after all.'
Sitting beside the fountain Kourshirou was the only one who wasn't digging into the bowl of food he had been offered. Instead, he was staring at his laptop which sat without power on his lap.
"-Meramon is another Digimon that receives his power from the Great Firewall, you could say the two of them are cut from the same cloth."
'He couldn't possibly mean the same thing, right?'

And with that, we have officially entered the Black Gear arc!
Now we've got this far I can finally explain some big differences you guys have probably already noticed.
First, the Digivolving. At the beginning of this series the episodes were used to introduce a new Digivolution and because of that the Digimon that had already evolved in previous episodes were stopped in some way to avoid them taking the spotlight away from the chosen Digimon of the episode.
I don't need to do that, if you're reading this then you already know who the Digimon are and who they're going to turn in too but by doing that I'm giving the kids a huge power boost very early on.
I didn't want that.
So I decided to give them a huge weakness. They are completely reliant on the kids to gain this power, in other words, if they don't protect the kids and they're injured the Digimon lose this power.
This both gives the power boost I gave them a downfall and also stops the kids from being useless in these Digimon fights.
I also decided to change what the Black Gears actually do. I'm all for turning Digimon evil but I really want to use this arc and the next one to explain how Digivolving works in this universe.
As such the Black Gears force a Digimon to evolve against their will and also causes them an immense pain. Because of that while they are Perfect level Digimon, a part of them is fighting against the Black Gear meaning they are not fully powered Perfect Digimon; hence why BlueMeramon was defeated here.
Let's just say I'm going to have so much fun with this when Taichi's Crest arc comes about.
I've also made some changes that are not going to start going into effect until the end of this arc, these concern Daisuke and his power. He will still have two crests but I've now given a much better reason for it, and have cleared up what's going to happen in 02 concerning it.
