My Last Resort
The creature turned toward the Alliance, opening its mouth as pressurized, chakra-laced wind formed in his mouth. After a moment it closed its mouth, its cheeks puffing as more and more began to appear. Dark Chakra began curling out of his nostrils like smoke and he leaned back, ready to fire.
"Massive Rasenshuriken!" Naruto shouted hurling the jutsu at it.
The jutsu exploded against the side of its head, spinning its head away from the Alliance just as it fired a massive Pressure Damage. It shot through the air, easily going a dozen miles before exploding into a massive blast of wind and Dark Chakra that easily covered four miles itself.
"Oh shit," Naruto breathed. "And that wasn't even a Tailed Beast Ball."
"What do we do?" Yugito questioned.
"Full Tailed Beast forms!" Naruto growled as a specific memory about a certain seal flashed through his head before he shut it out.
They all entered the form and stood in a circle looking up. As they combined their chakra into one massive Tailed Beast Ball, the creature roared, a deafening sound that made all of their ears start to bleed and shorted out their chakra control, the Tailed Beast Ball fizzling out.
"Shit!" Naruto swore drawing his sword and turning toward the creature. "Fine, we'll do this the hard way."
He let his transparent Nine-tails fade and stabbed his sword into the ground, making his signature hand seal.
"Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Naruto shouted as dozens upon dozens upon dozens of clones appeared around him, courtesy of Kurama.
All of them picked up their sword and charged, all with one matching though: Kill. The first problem was that the entire swarm of Naruto, with three feet between each, only covered a spot roughly as big around as its pointer finger. The second problem was, all of their swords snapped on its skin instantly. Then, it roared and Naruto's clones exploded, Naruto himself flying back to the others. He landed on his feet and growled in frustration.
"Damn," Naruto growled creating dozens more who all charged, forming Rasenshuriken. "Quick."
He and the other Jinchuriki entered their full Tailed Beast forms and together formed a single massive Tailed Beast Ball, adding almost all of their Tailed Beasts' chakra to it. Then, they all backed away while Naruto turned and fired it just as the Rasengans all exploded on the creature. It hit it directly in the chest and exploded into a massive ball of fire that threw them all. Then, the smoke cleared and the creature was unharmed.
"God damnit!" Naruto swore. "Jinchuriki, give me what chakra you can spare then go to the others. Sasuke, I think we should use that one next."
"Right," Sasuke nodded. "It will be more powerful with Kurama's chakra."
"Right," Naruto nodded.
The Jinchuriki channeled their chakra to Naruto then turned, running to the others as Naruto held his hand out and Sasuke held both over it.
"This had better work," Naruto growled channeling both his and Kurama's chakra into the Rasenshuriken as Sasuke added his Lightning and Fire Style Chakra.
After a moment, the Rasengan was fully formed and was blood red with red Kirin dragons extending from it and black lightning bolts shooting off of it and hitting the ground around them, breaking pieces off which floated into the air from the concentration of Chakra. Inside the Rasengan they could see a Rasengan made entirely out of flames spinning opposite the Rasengan.
"Light it before I let go," Naruto advised. "Ready?"
"Ready," Sasuke nodded as Naruto pulled his arm back.
Just as Naruto took a step forward, moving his arm, Amaterasu burst to life on the Rasenshuriken, adding a failsafe to it. Then, Naruto let go, and the entire thing, Amaterasu and Flame Rasengan included shot forward as a massive black and red lightning bolt. It crashed into the creature's face, exploding as the one Naruto and Sasuke had used at Hozuki Castle, only much bigger and with Amaterasu running around the inside seemingly at random. When the Concussion began to race toward them, Sasuke formed his Susanoo and Naruto his full Tailed Beast form while Nagato shielded the others, who were far enough away for the concussion to not be much worse than at Hozuki Castle. Finally the light faded, not even leaving a cloud of smoke, and revealed the creature with Amaterasu covering its body. After several moments, the fire burned itself out, the creature showing no signs of any kind of wound.
"Oh fuck you!" Naruto shouted. "What the Hell!?"
"It's invincible!" Sasuke breathed. "Now what?"
Naruto's mind wandered as the memory resurfaced again and this time, he let it play.
Minato finished his explanation and leaned back as Naruto repeated the instructions. Minato nodded then sat forward, face serious.
"Naruto," Minato began, speaking quietly. "This jutsu, this seal. You'll be able to use it at long range like me. But I'll warn you now. Do not use this. Do everything in your power to avoid it."
"Go," Naruto finally sighed. "I know how to stop it. And kill it this time. When you get to the others, tell Inoichi to connect to my mind with his Mind Transmission Jutsu."
Sasuke nodded and turned to leave before stopping.
"Is it that one?" Sasuke questioned.
"Go," Naruto growled and Sasuke nodded, turning and running to the others.
The creature suddenly began to charge a Tailed Beast Ball even bigger than the one Naruto and the others had used. Naruto instantly hurled a kunai as far away as he could before making hand seals and holding a second in front of himself.
"I hope this works," Naruto growled.
The creature fired the Tailed Beast Ball and Naruto grit his teeth as it hit the barrier, blood instantly beginning run from his nose as he pumped his own chakra into the barrier. Finally the Tailed Beast Ball was teleported away, exploding off to one side and throwing Naruto sideways. He pushed himself up, gasping for breath as Inoichi contacted him.
"Naruto?" Inoichi questioned.
"Yeah," Naruto smiled. "I need you to do me a favor and connect me to Hinata. I need to..."
"I understand," Inoichi spoke up after Naruto was silent for a moment.
While Naruto waited he began making hand seals. Instantly Kushina sensed the change in his chakra and wheeled around on Minato.
"Minato, tell me that's not..." Kushina began but trailed off when she saw that Minato knew exactly what Naruto was doing.
Naruto continued making hand seals as his father's words played through his head again.
"...Do everything in your power to avoid it. When the time comes that everything in your power, and the power of everyone around you isn't enough, when the only two options are either you use this, or everyone you know and care about dies, then use it. Then, and only then will it be the time for you to use this seal."
"Naruto?" Hinata questioned. "Your mother's scared. What's going on?"
"I love you Hinata," Naruto stated. "Don't worry about this jutsu. It'll stop this thing. And then I'll see you back at the village."
Naruto made the last hand seal and smiled sadly.
Do you regret, now, showing me that jutsu Dad, now that the time has come when it's needed? Naruto thought as Hinata turned to Kushina.
"What is it?" Hinata questioned. "What's he doing?"
"He's..." Kushina began but trailed off. "It's the..."
"Reaper Death Seal!" Naruto shouted, voice reaching the Alliance at the same time as a massive version of the Shinigami formed behind him, Naruto allowing everyone to see it.
"That's..." Hinata breathed.
"Yes," Kushina nodded spinning back toward Minato. "You taught our son, THAT JUTSU!?"
"I know," Minato nodded. "Yes, I did. There's no other way to stop this thing. No one is strong enough to seal it any other way and Suzu isn't around anymore to stop it. Naruto knows that. He knows that if it isn't stopped here and now, everyone, everywhere, will die. He can stop that."
"Why can't you just use it through a clone again?" Kushina demanded.
"Because," Minato sighed. "The Shinigami will no longer work with me. I tricked him and now he will have nothing to do with me."
"Naruto?" Hinata questioned, understanding exactly what jutsu it was.
"I'm sorry Hinata," Naruto sighed. "I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise. I'm sorry that this is the only way for me to keep you safe. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to stop Madara soon enough to be able to marry you."
Hinata fell to her knees, sobbing and Sakura and Ino both knelt beside her to comfort her.
"Why can we all see it?" Aoba questioned.
"He wants us to see what he's planning, what he's giving up," Kushina stated. "And what he's fighting for. What he's dying for."
"What are you doing Kid?" Kurama growled.
"This seal will stop him," Naruto stated. "And it's time I kept my promise to you. I just need your help to restrain him, then you are free to leave."
"You would, let me leave?" Kurama blinked. "You would let me be free? What do you need?"
"I need to make a clone, but I don't want you to put any of your chakra in it," Naruto stated. "Let it be just me."
Kurama nodded and Naruto formed a single clone without the hand seal. The clone looked down at his hands for a moment, realizing just how much of his power would be lost when Kurama left. Then, the clone sat down to gather Nature Energy.
"Come on you massive ugly piece of shit!" Naruto shouted. "Show me what those claws are for!"
The creature growled, pulling its arm back before driving it forward in a blur. Naruto extended chakra arms and Chakra chains from his back, catching the creature's claw when it was barely through him for it but taking up most of his torso. His Chakra Chains were wrapped around the creatures everywhere, struggling to hold it still and the Chakra Arms were holding the claw still. A moment later, thousands more Chakra Chains shot out of the ground around the creature, pulling it to the ground and restraining it before Honoka also added her signature sealing jutsu to o with her own Chakra Chains, and Nagato added his Shinra Tensei. The creature shrieked in rage but couldn't move. Nagato had his chains around the creature's arm, the claw having pulled out of Naruto and now resting on the ground, the Chakra Arms already having faded.
Naruto extended another Chakra Chain to his chakra, which was suspended before the Shinigami. The chain touched the glowing red circle in the silhouette's stomach then whipped sideways, Kurama forming instantly and at full size, landing in the distance and looking back as Naruto nearly collapsed, stopping himself by releasing the clone and entering Sage Mode.
It's...over, Naruto thought, using the Nature Energy to strengthen his Chakra Chains along with extend his own life as the Shinigami's hand shot through both Naruto and his chakra silhouette then out at the creature. The hand latched onto the creature's face then began to pull, the Chakra chains all gripping the creature's spirit, which was in the form of chakra, as always, and dragged it out of the creature. then, the Shinigami pulled it back, sealing the creature's soul.
"Naruto!" Hinata screamed, trying to run to him while Sasuke restrained her.
"It's his choice," Sasuke stated. "And too late."
"Goodbye...Hinata," Naruto spoke in her mind, the connection already nearly gone, just before the Shinigami's knife came down, separating Naruto from his soul and sealing that as well.
Then, Naruto collapsed. It was over. And no one felt the relief or joy they had been expecting to feel.
