Here you are, my bee-yoo-tee-ful readers, we are finally back to the boys! Frank's POV is next, but first we've got Jason!

Megan Stark (guest): Yes, very much. But as soon as they do sleep, there will be nightmares. Nightmares are inescapable.

elijahS34 (guest): Well, you'll just have to see, won't you?

Guest (guest): Thanks for the suggestions, and just for the review. Also for the compliments. :)

Shannonlee14: None of them are going to die...at least not until August 1. That's the only time it becomes a possibility.

shreylakhanpal4: Thank you. Especially for the epics in your review. Epic is what I strive to achieve.

Nobilist: Yes, it was something about a crazy deer attack. Although technically they're like bird/deer hybrids called Peryton, which took me forever to find. Also, Hazel couldn't have really killed them with her Pluto powers, and as I said, that's the only way they could get them to leave them alone.

drinkingthestarswithbob: I don't really like Coke either. Or soda, much. But Percy likes blue Coke, so I put it on there. I should try blue lemonade sometime...tell me how it turns out, 'kay?

Rajell Cellar (guest): Sadly, no, I don't. But you could follow drinkingthestarswithbob's lead and dye some lemonade blue. Or some other drink, it doesn't have to be lemonade. ;)

Son of Dragon: You shall see...

Pjbooksrock (guest): Unfortunately, Percy's POV is not coming up quite yet, but I promise you'll get it soon. Also, Percabeth fluff can't quite happen at epic proportions when they're not at the same place. Unfortunately.

Reese123: I hope it won't be too hard. And yeah, I had yesterday off school for Good Friday, so I updated a bit earlier than usual. Sort of the same with today, except that it's Saturday.

Chapter LVII

Jason

The sky is a deep, azure blue, with only the occasional puffy white cloud floating across it. The sun is shining brightly, and there's a nice ocean breeze coming up off the sea. All in all, a perfect day for flying.

Unfortunately, Jason isn't the only one to think that.

He stabs another harpy into dust with his gladius and urges the winds to carry him closer to Frank and Percy, who are both doing a pretty good job of keeping the harpies at bay. Frank is a pretty fancy flier when he wants to be, too, which helps them weave through the creatures without too much trouble.

"How're you doing, guys?" Jason yells to them, slicing through three harpies at once.

"Oh, we're great!" Percy shouts back. "Although I don't think Frank is liking fighting as an eagle very much!"

Frank snaps at one of the harpies with his hooked beak, slicing through it with ease and turning it into golden dust. Then he shakes his head with a very disgusted look in his eyes.

Jason laughs. "I don't think he likes the taste of monster dust very much!"

"I don't blame him; it's absolutely disgusting." Percy replies, smacking a harpy with the flat of his blade so it goes spiraling out of sight.

"I wouldn't know, I can't say I've ever tasted it." Jason says, grinning.

"Lucky you." Percy answers dryly.

"Any way we can outfly the rest of them?" Jason asks, looking around at the remaining dozen harpies.

"What do you think, Frank?" Percy says. "Do you think we can outfly the chicken ladies?"

Frank rolls his eyes and banks right, flying out of the midst of the flock of harpies. Jason follows right behind him, sending a last blast of wind at the harpies to slow them down. Then he concentrates on getting away from them as fast as possible.

When he finally slows and looks back, the harpies are nothing but a group of black specks in the distance, and from what Jason can tell, it doesn't seem like they're trying to follow.

"I think we lost them, guys." He tells Percy and Frank.

"Seems like it." Percy agrees. "Hey, Frank, do you see anything yet? Any idea where we're going?"

Frank scans the ground, patches of brown, gray, and green far below them. Apparently, though, he doesn't see anything, because they fly on in silence for several more minutes without any sign from him.

"I wonder what's happening back on the ship." Percy wonders aloud, laying his sword across his lap and looking thoughtfully into the distance.

"I have no idea, but I hope they're having a better time then we are." Jason replies.

"Don't complain, Superman, things could be a lot worse. Trust me." The son of Poseidon tells him.

"Oh, I know. I was just hoping we could get there and get out before anything noticed us." Jason explains.

Percy taps his forehead. "Wishful thinking, man. We're three of the most powerful demigods in the world. And as soon as we stepped off the Argo-well, flew off-any protection it gave us went out the window. Every monster within a ten mile radius is probably on its way to eat us."

"Great." Jason replies unenthusiastically. "You know, I'm really starting to hate how every monster on the planet seems to think of us as appetizers."

"Or chew toys." Percy adds.

Jason is about to reply when Frank suddenly lets out a raucous cry and dives towards the ground. Quickly, Jason follows, hoping that Frank finally found what he's looking for, and isn't trying to get away from a monster that Jason hasn't noticed.

He shouldn't have worried. As they get closer to the ground, Jason can see a dome-like structure rising out of the ground on the edge of the woods, surrounded by ruins. It looks like the only thing still standing-the only thing left of ancient Pylos, besides the crumbling stones that are the only remnants of the other buildings.

"Is that it, Frank?" Jason yells. Frank replies by circling above it and then setting down a few yards away, landing on a slanted slab of stone half sunk into the ground. He waits until Percy climbs down off his back before changing back into his regular form.

"Yeah. That's it." He answers grimly. Jason sets down lightly on the ground next to them, and together they look at the building.

It's similar to a beehive in shape, and texture too, which Jason finds slightly strange. A rectangular doorway in the middle leads into darkness. A musty-smelling draft of air wafts out of it, and Jason swears he can hear hostile whispers emanating from the dome.

"Well that's not forbidding or anything." Percy comments sarcastically.

"Nope." Frank agrees. "Not at all."

They stare at it for several more minutes without making any moves to approach it. Then Percy shifts suddenly, and both Jason and Frank look at him.

"We should probably go in, shouldn't we?" He asks, warily eyeing the dark doorway.

"Probably." Jason answers. "We did promise the others we'd be back by dark."

"And we have already been gone for-what, an hour and a half? Wow, did it really take that long to find this place?" Percy asks, surprised.

"Well, we did get sidetracked by monsters several times." Jason points out.

"The harpies." Frank says.

"And those venti." Jason adds.

"Don't forget the flying snakes." Percy mutters.

"I have no idea what those were all about." Jason comments. "I've never seen them before."

"Neither have I, but I thought they were the sacred animal of one of the gods, or something like that. Not something that should be attacking us." Percy explains.

"Never heard of that, but then again, I was raised on the Roman stories. And I didn't really take the time to try and memorize the things that are sacred to every single god. There are way too many of them to even try." Jason replies.

"True." Percy says. "I didn't really think things like that were too important. I stuck to the basics: If it tries to kill you, kill it first."

"Good advice." Jason answers. "If only it were so simple."

They stand in silence for a little longer. Then Percy sighs and takes a step forward.

"We better get started. Who knows how long a conversation with a dead old guy can take?" He says. Jason nods mutely and steps after him, but then Frank puts out a hand to stop them.

"Wait." He says, looking nervous. His face is pale, and if Jason looks closely, he's pretty sure the big guy's hands are shaking. "I think I need to go alone."

"What?" Jason asks, shocked.

"Really don't think that's a good idea, Frank." Percy tells the son of Mars.

"I know." Frank replies unhappily. "But I had a dream last night...and I don't think he'll talk to me if you guys are there. He told me I had to come alone."

Percy and Jason exchange a wary look. "Frank, are you sure? Splitting up just doesn't seem like the best option."

"You don't have to leave, or anything. You can wait right outside. But I think I have to go in alone." Frank explains.

Percy sends a calculating look at the structure. "What's it supposed to be, anyway? A temple of some sort?"

"A tomb, I think." Frank answers.

"How delightful." Percy comments sarcastically. He stares at the building for a little longer and then sighs again. "Okay, Frank, if you're sure...go ahead. But if you need anything, just yell, we'll be waiting right out here. We'll keep the monsters away."

"Guard duty." Jason says. "Oh, joy."

Frank almost looks disappointed that they agreed to splitting up. Jason gets the feeling that he'd really rather not go into the building at all. But he takes a deep breath and steps forward.

"Okay, then." He looks at Jason and Percy. "See you in a bit."

Then Jason and Percy watch him as he walks over to the tomb, pauses to look up at the sky, and then steps inside, disappearing into the shadows.

Jason strains his ears to hear anything, but he can't even make out footsteps, which is weird, since they should echo loudly in a stone tunnel. But he shrugs away his unease and turns to Percy.

"You think he'll be okay?" He asks.

"Frank's a great fighter. He'll be fine." The son of Poseidon assures him. But Jason sees him glance worriedly at the doorway where Frank disappeared before he manages to hide it behind a grin.

"So, Superman." He says.

"So, Kelp Head." Jason replies.

Percy's grin widens. "Your sister calls me that, you know."

"I can understand why." Jason answers.

"Well, I call her Pinecone Face, so I think it's probably pretty fair." Percy tells him with a thoughtful tone.

Jason raises an eyebrow. "Pinecone Face?"

"I've never been the best at insults, okay?" He replies defensively. "I mean, have you heard what I call Annabeth?"

"Since when is calling someone 'Wise Girl' an insult?" Jason asks.

"You try insulting her." Percy protests. "It's impossible, she's good at everything."

Jason opens her mouth to argue, but then closes it when he realizes that Percy's basically right. Annabeth isn't bad at anything that could contribute to a good insult.

"See? I told you." Percy says smugly.

Jason just shrugs. "So what? There has to be something better than 'Wise Girl.'"

"Well, I've called her Owl Head before." Percy admits. "But that's worse than Wise Girl, so it doesn't really count."

"No." Jason agrees. "It really doesn't."

"Who first came up with your nickname, anyway?" Percy continues. "I mean, I know I've called you that, but I'm pretty sure practically everyone else has too, at some point."

"Uh, Leo, I think. Why?" Jason asks cautiously.

"No reason." Percy replies.

A distant screech interrupts them, and they both raise their weapons, automatically moving so they're back to back.

"Any idea what that was?" Jason asks.

"None." Percy replies.

"Wonderful." Jason says. "Let's just hope it wasn't calling friends."

As soon as the words are out of his mouth, at least five anwering screeches split the air.

"Did you really have to say something?" Percy mutters to him.

"Not my fault, man. The Fates hate us." Jason says back.

He hears something crashing through the undergrowth in the woods, and tightens his grip on his sword.

This is going to be a long afternoon. He thinks.

Tell me, is my portrayal of Jason still improving? Or is it getting worse? Honestly, I'd be happy if it'd at least stayed the same.

I love you, don't talk to strange centaurs, STAY AWAY FROM THE LIGHT, and have a wonderful Easter!

P.S.: I am still updating tomorrow. Even if it is a holiday. So you should be very proud of me, especially since it's going to be uber difficult to find the time to sneak past my family.

Cheers!
