Thanks for all the review on Chapter 19. They meant a lot to me. This was a nice one for me to write because Finn and Rachel both went through some tough times in this episode and I would have liked to have seen them be there for each other during those times. In this story, I can make that happen! Hope you guys enjoy the chapter and review if you want me to keep writing!
Chapter 20: Theatricality
"Step. Couple more," Carole said to Finn.
Finn had no idea why his mom was having him walk with his eyes closed. "Is there a car down here from me?"
"Honey, we're indoors," Carole said.
Finn was even more confused. "Oh. Okay."
"And open your eyes," Carole said.
Finn opened his eyes and saw Burt and Kurt. Kurt was holding out a glass. "Sparking cider?"
Finn looked at the banner. "Welcome home? But who went somewhere?"
Carole snuggled up to her boyfriend. "Burt asked us to move in with them."
Finn couldn't believe it. "And this is how you're telling me?"
"The party is my idea," Kurt said. "If you're gonna say something, say it loud, right?"
"Yeah," Burt added. "It's gonna take some getting used to, but trust me, you're gonna love it, okay? Now you don't have to drag your tail over here every time you want to watch something on the old 55-incher. We got a lot of food."
Finn could tell his mom knew that he was uncomfortable. "Finn, this house is twice as big as ours. It has two bathrooms," Carole said.
Finn just wasn't ready for this. "I don't want an extra bathroom or a tuna crude. I just want my house back."
"I think I know what this resistance is about. Our room. And I couldn't agree more. The palate in here is totally unflattering to your skin tone. Not everyone can pull off Dior gray. We need to redecorate," Kurt said.
Finn was supposed to share a room with Kurt? He knew Kurt had feelings for him. That made him more than a little uncomfortable. "Wait, we're sharing a room? I'm not cool with that!"
"Baby, I know it's weird, okay? But can't be much of a surprise. And, in time, you're gonna be as happy as I am," Carole said.
"Yeah, look, I'll knock out a wall upstairs, I'll put an addition on, okay?" Burt said, as if he was letting Finn know he wasn't comfortable with sharing a room with Kurt. "But until then, maybe this will grease the wheels a bit, huh? Hey. Look, that's 300. Have at it. You redecorate this place."
Kurt grabbed the money. "Don't worry, roomie. Mr. Ikea Catalog and I will have this all figured out. I am going to put together a palate that expresses who you are and who I want you to be."
This wasn't going to go well. Finn knew it.

Rachel, Mercedes and Quinn snuck into the balcony of the auditorium at Carmel High. The girls had decided to go spy on Vocal Adrenaline to find out if they really were doing Gaga. And Rachel could tell by their costumes that they were. "Think they can see us?" Mercedes asked.
"If they catch us, are we gonna have to go to jail?" Quinn asked.
"Stealing their ideas is not a crime," Rachel said. She wasn't sure how comfortable she was with this.
The girls sat down and watched the performance as the Vocal Adrenaline director, Shelby Corcoran, stopped the group to talk to them. "You guys aren't getting it. You're letting the costumes do all the work. Theatricality isn't about crazy outfits. It's not enough to douse yourselves with gasoline. You have to light yourselves on fire to make it work."
"Gosh, she's good," Rachel thought out loud.
"But being theatrical doesn't mean you have to be a nuclear explosion," Shelby continued. "It can be like, like a quiet storm. You just have to radiate emotion, express what's deep inside you. That's what theatricality is truly about. Do I have to demonstrate?" She turned to the pianist. "Funny Girl, E flat."
"Exactly what I would have done: Barbra. I could do it in my sleep," Rachel told Quinn and Mercedes.
As Shelby sang, Rachel immediately noticed how much Shelby's voice sounded like the voice on the tape. Halfway through the song, Rachel knew this voice sounded too much like the voice on the tape to not be it. Could Shelby be her mother? She was going to find out. She got up and started to head downstairs.
"Where are you going?" Mercedes asked.
"Get back here," Quinn said.
Rachel ignored the girls and continued downstairs. She was feeling more and more nervous, but what if Shelby really was her mother? She had to talk to her. Finally, she was standing by the stage. "Miss Corcoran?" Rachel managed to say. "I'm Rachel Berry. I'm your daughter." At least she thought she was.
Shelby stared at Rachel and turned to the Vocal Adrenaline members. "Okay, rehearsal's over for today."
After the Vocal Adrenaline members left, Shelby looked at Rachel. Rachel could tell that she was right.
"It's really you," Shelby said.
"Yeah," Rachel said. "I found the tape you left for me when I was born..." She tried to think of something to say to not give away that she was spying. "I'm a singer too and I've heard great things about Vocal Adrenaline, so I came to watch, and then I heard you sing..."
"Oh my gosh," Shelby said. "After all this time, I thought I'd never find you."
Quinn and Mercedes came downstairs and stood by Rachel. "Rachel, what's going on?" Mercedes asked.
"Could you guys go wait in the car?" Rachel asked. "I'll explain later." She was feeling so overwhelmed right now. She thought meeting her mom for the first time would be different, but she and Shelby were both in shock.
"Those are my friends," Rachel explained. "I'm in the glee club at my school and they came with me to watch." She didn't know if she could call Quinn and Mercedes friends, but it would work.
"I know," Shelby said. "You're in the glee club at McKinley. I saw your Sectionals. You're really good."
"Thanks," Rachel said. She sat down. "So, why didn't you ever call my dads to meet me?" That was the question that had been in her mind for sixteen years.
"I was struggling when I carried you," Shelby said. "I really wanted to make it on Broadway and your dads were offering enough money for me to live in New York for a little while. I saw the ad they put in the paper. They had me sign a contract that said I couldn't contact you until you were 18. It turned out that I couldn't make it on Broadway. I got beaten out in every audition and came back to Ohio."
So she had just been given up for money? "I really wanted my mom."
"Are things okay with your dads?" Shelby asked.
"Yeah, but there's things only a mom can give a girl," Rachel said. "Did you ever regret it?"
"Yes. Then no. Then so much," Shelby said.
"When did you realize it was the right time for me to find you?" Rachel asked.
"I saw you sing at sectionals. You were extraordinary. You were me," Shelby
"Was it hard for you to not become a star? To not have your dreams come true?" Rachel asked.
"It felt like a broken promise. Like the Fisher King's wound - never heals," Shelby said.
Rachel could see herself feeling the same way if she didn't make it in showbiz. "Wow. Genetics really are amazing. You see the world with the same fierce theatricality as I do. Even the way we're sitting right now is so dramatic, and yet we feel so comfortable with it."
"I've missed so much. How do you feel?" Shelby asked.
"Thirsty. When I was little and I used to get sad, my dads would bring me a glass of water. It got so I couldn't tell if I was sad or just thirsty," Rachel explained.
"I shouldn't have done this. This was supposed to feel good. We were supposed to have some kind of slow-motion run into each other's arms. This is all wrong," Shelby lamented.
Rachel agreed. "Maybe we can just go to dinner or something just to get over the initial shock."
"I'm so sorry, Rachel. Uh... I'll... I'll call you," Shelby said before running out of the auditorium.
Even though Rachel had found her mother, Shelby didn't seem very happy to have been found. Rachel didn't know what to do. She went back to the car and found Quinn and Mercedes.
"Are you okay?" Mercedes asked, looking genuinely concerned.
"She's my mother," Rachel said.
"What?" Quinn gasped. "Oh my God."
"Rachel... holy crap," Mercedes said. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"I don't know," Rachel admitted. "I've always wanted to know who my mom was... but now I know, and I just feel so overwhelmed."
"Do you think she's going to talk to you more now?" Mercedes asked.
"She ran away," Rachel said. "It's as if she didn't want me to find her."
"I'm sorry," Quinn said. "Do you think Jesse knew?"
"I don't know," Rachel said. "He hasn't been returning my calls or texts lately, and he hasn't been at school."
"Yeah, I've noticed," Mercedes said.
Was Jesse even still Rachel's boyfriend? She didn't know. He hadn't been returning her calls and texts. Rachel knew what she needed. She needed to talk to Finn.
"Do you just want to go home?" Quinn asked.
"Yeah," Rachel said. She was quiet on the drive home and went straight to her room after she dropped Quinn and Mercedes off at home. She got out her phone and dialed Finn's number.
"Hey," Finn said. "Did you have fun spying on Vocal Adrenaline?"
"Finn, their coach is my mom!" Rachel said.
"Holy crap," Finn said. "How'd you figure that out?"
"That tape she left... Jesse made me listen to it," Rachel said. "I wanted to listen with you, but he turned it on. She was singing on the tape, and then she was singing at the Vocal Adrenaline rehearsal and I recognized the voice. I went down and talked to her..."
"Well, how did it go?" Finn asked.
"I don't know," Rachel admitted. "We talked for a little."
"That's something, right?" Finn asked.
"She said she shouldn't have done this," Rachel said. "Do you think she doesn't love me?"
"If she doesn't, she's nuts," Finn said. "She's lucky that you're her daughter."
Rachel smiled to herself. Finn knew how to make her feel better. "Thanks, Finn."
"Do you need me to come to your house?" Finn asked.
"I think I'm fine," Rachel sighed. She just wanted some time to herself right now.
x
The next day in glee club, Kurt and the girls were dressed in some of the most bizarre outfits Finn had ever seen. He assumed these were for the Lady Gaga songs they'd be performing, but he couldn't help but notice Rachel wasn't there. Was she okay? Maybe he sohoud have gone over yesterday.
"Where's Rachel? I mean, I only noticed because, like five minutes have gone by without her saying something totally obnoxious," Puck said.
"Rachel kinda got some intense news yesterday," Mercedes said. They were going to tell, Finn knew it.
"We were spying on Vocal Adrenaline, and..." Quinn continued.
"You guys, that's not fair! You gotta stop doing that. But what'd you find out?" Mr. Schue asked.
"Okay, y'all ready? Miss Corcoran, their coach - she's Rachel's mom," Mercedes announced.
Finn pretended to be as surprised as the rest of the glee club was. "Are you serious?" Mr. Schue asked.
"Way to bury the lead, Mercedes," Artie groaned.
"We're screwed. Rachel's gonna jump ship over to Vocal Adrenaline," Puck complained.
"Never!" Finn looked and saw Rachel coming in. She was wearing - well, she had a bunch of stuffed animals all over her. Finn was even more worried now. "I really don't want to talk about it, though," Rachel continued. "I'm still processing the news and my dads are moving my therapist to our spare room later this afternoon. All I know is that I'm not going anywhere, and I've chosen a Lady Gaga look that expresses the longing for a childhood I was deprived of."
"You look terrible. I look awesome," Brittany said.
"Well, my dads can't sew, so these are just stapled on," Rachel said.
Finn felt so bad for Rachel. Kurt and the girls performed their song, but Rachel looked like she was thinking - not about the song. All Finn wanted to do was hug her.
x
Rachel had left directly after glee practice that day, and Finn was sure she'd gone to talk to her mom. He wanted to call her that night, but all Kurt wanted to do was make plans for what to do with their room. Finn was tempted to talk to his mom about moving back to their old house - it wasn't even on the market yet.
The glee boys would perform their number for the theatricality assignment the next day. Finn had talked Mr. Schue into letting them do KISS instead of Gaga, which was a relief. KISS still wore crazy outfits, but they were more masculine, so Finn thought they would be a good alternative. Finn was in the bathroom putting on his facepaint when Karofsky and Azimio came in. "What's up, Finn?" Karofsky sneered.
"What's that on your face? You got a bad pimple or something?" Azimio asked.
"A Finn-ple? Dude, are you wearing makeup?" Karofsky added.
"I knew it was contagious. You moved in with that little Kurt kid, and now you got a bad case of the gay," Azimio laughed.
Finn was so sick of these two. "It's just something for Glee Club, all right?"
"Oh, well, then it's definitely not gay, huh?" Karofsky asked as he and Azimio lunged toward Finn.
"Get out of my way!" Finn snapped. This was getting so old.
"Man, how many times do we got go through this?! You being a jock and being in this Glee Club does not make you versatile. It makes you bisexual," Azimio said.
"And if we have to kick your ass to make you understand that, then our schedules are wide open," Karofsky said.
"Get out of my bathroom. You girls, y'all belong across the hallway. Glee boy!" Azimio shouted.
Finn went to do his face paint in a bathroom on another floor before going to join the other glee boys for their kiss performance. He noticed Rachel was wearing a black and white dress now that really showed off her body.
x
Back at the house, Finn was sitting by Kurt's vanity table, trying to get his face paint off with a kleenex. "Could you have a word with Azimio and Karofsky about harassing me without damaging my Gaga outfit?"
Finn knew that would do nothing for him or Kurt. "Are you serious? Do you know how difficult it is with those guys? They already think we're boyfriends."
"Let them think what they want. They're Neanderthals. In three years, they'll be cleaning my septic tank," Kurt said.
Finn felt bad for Kurt, but he knew that Karofsky and Azimio weren't going to change. "Don't you get it? It's not just them. We live in Ohio - not New York or San Francisco or some other city where people eat vegetables that aren't fried. I don't understand why you always need to make such a big spectacle of yourself. Why can't you just work harder at blending in?"
"I'm sure that'd be easier for you," Kurt said.
"You know, it would," Finn shot back.
Kurt walked over to Finn with a wet towel. "You are such a boy. You're going to have to use a moist towelette if you want to get that makeup off."
Finn pushed Kurt's hand away. "Don't touch me!"
"What is your problem, Finn? It's just a moist towelette!" Kurt snapped.
Finn knew Kurt would do anything to touch him. "I'm gonna finish in the laundry room."
"Grow up, Finn!" Kurt shouted.
Finn picked up his phone and went to the bathroom to call Rachel. "Hey," Rachel said.
"Hey," Finn said. "Kurt's throwing himself at me. Did you know his dad asked me and my mom to move in?"
"He did?" Rachel asked. "Isn't it a little soon for that?"
"Yeah, I think so," Finn said. "I'm beginning to wonder if Kurt just set up our parents so we could spend more time together."
"Doesn't he understand that you're straight?" Rachel asked.
"Apparently not," Finn said. "Don't get me wrong, I like Kurt. He's awesome. But only as a friend."
"You have to tell him that," Rachel said.
"I'll talk to him," Finn said. "So, how are you doing?"
"You saw my new Gaga outfit?" Rachel told Finn.
"Yeah," Finn said. Gosh, Rachel looked hot in it.
"My mom made it for me," Rachel said. "Yesterday after glee practice I went down to Carmel and she offered to make me a new outfit."
"That's great," Finn said. Maybe things would work out with Rachel and her mom.
"She was telling me about herself," Rachel said. "She tried to make it on Broadway but she never did. She's been coaching Vocal Adrenaline for about ten years and she was on a Nationals winning glee club in high school."
"That's cool," Finn said. He really hoped things would work out. Rachel deserved to be happy. "So, where do things stand with you and Jesse?"
"I don't know," Rachel said. "He hasn't been returning my calls or texts. I asked my mom if she knew anything and she said she hasn't talked to him since he left Vocal Adrenaline."
Finn hoped this meant things were over between Rachel and Jesse. "It's not right of him to not return his own girlfriend's calls and texts."
"I agree," Rachel said. "Look, Finn, you need to tell Kurt that you like him, but you're not into boys."
"Thanks, Rachel," Finn said. He finished washing off the face paint and went looking for Kurt, but Burt told Finn that Kurt had gone to Mercedes's house.
x
Kurt ended up spending the night at Mercedes's house, but when Finn got home from school the next day, Kurt was there and waiting. "I have a surprise for you," Kurt told Finn, leading him into the basement. "I had to skip school to finish it, but I think you're really going to like it. Consider it a peace offering after all the yelling that we've been doing. I used Marlene Dietrich and Gary Cooper in Morocco as my inspiration. It's a perfect blend of the masculine and the feminine, the muted and the theatrical."
Finn looked around the basement. What was this blend Kurt was talking about? This looked like a Kurt type room, not a Finn and Kurt type room. "Are you freaking insane? I can't live here. I'm a dude." He saw a big fake wall and pointed at it. "What the hell is that supposed to be?"
"It's a privacy partition," Kurt explained. "It's all I could find on such short notice. Why are you getting angry about everything? I worked hard on this."
Finn wished Kurt would try to see things through his point of view. "That's not a privacy partition! Why is it so hard for you to understand? I don't want to get dressed in front of you! Do you know that I put my underwear on in the shower before I come out when you're around? I just... I don't want to have to worry about that kind of stuff in my own room, man."
"And what stuff are you referring to?" Kurt asked.
Did Kurt really think Finn didn't know? "You know. You know what I'm talking about. Don't play dumb. Why can't you just accept that I'm not like you?"
"I have accepted that," Kurt said.
Finn decided to just break to it. "No, you haven't. You think I don't see the way you stare at me? How flirty you get? You think I don't know why you got so excited that we were going to be moving in together?"
"It's just a room, Finn! We can redecorate it if you want to!" Kurt shouted.
"Okay, good. Well, then the first thing that needs to go is that faggy lamp. And then we need to get rid of this faggy couch cover..." Oh no. Finn shouldn't have said that. He'd lost it. As uncomfortable as he was, that was crossing the line.
Finn was interrupted by Burt. "Hey! What did you just call him?"
This was bad. How was Finn supposed to explain himself? "Oh, no, no, I didn't call him anything. I was talking about the blanket."
Burt didn't look convinced. "If you use that word, you're talking about him."
"Relax, Dad. I didn't take it that way," Kurt said.
Maybe if Kurt knew what Finn meant, Burt wouldn't be mad at Finn. But Burt still seemed angry. "Yeah, that's because you're 16 and you still assume the best in people. You live a few years, you start seeing the hate in people's hearts. Even the best people." He turned to Finn. "You use the n-word?"
Finn shook his head. "Of course not."
"How about retard?" Burt continued. "You call that nice girl in Cheerios with Kurt, you call her a retard?"
Finn shook his head again. "Becky? No. She's my friend. She's got Down syndrome. I'd never call her that. That's cruel."
"But you think it's okay to come into my house and say faggy?" Burt asked.
"That's not what I meant," Finn said. Why hadn't he watched his mouth.
"I know what you meant!" Burt shouted. "What, you think I didn't use that word when I was your age? You know, some kid gets clocked in practice, we'd tell him to stop being such a fag. Shake it off. We meant it exactly the way you meant it. That being gay is wrong. That it's some kind of punishable offense. I really thought you were different, Finn. You know, I thought that being in Glee Club and being raised by your mom meant that you were some, you know, new generation of dude who saw things differently. Who just kind of, you know, came into the world knowing what has taken me years of struggling to figure out. I guess I was wrong. I'm sorry, Finn, but you can't... you can't stay here."
Well, at least they hadn't sold the old house. "Dad!" Kurt said.
"I love your mom and maybe this is going to cost me her, but my family comes first," Burt said. "I can't have that kind of poison around. This is our home, Kurt. He is my son. Out in the world, you do what you want, but not under my roof."
Finn went upstairs as Burt followed behind him. "Carole, Finn just called Kurt the f-word. I love you, but Finn can't be here right now."
Carole gave Finn a shocked look. "Finnegan! What were you thinking?"
"I wasn't thinking," Finn said.
"That's right, you weren't," Burt said. "Carole, Finn can't be here."
"I haven't sold the old house," Carole said. "Maybe Finn and I should go back there for a little."
"I'm sorry, Carole, but I can't have him talking that way to Kurt," Burt said.
"Of course we can't," Carole said. "Finn, let's go." She led Finn to the car. "Finn, what the hell were you thinking?"
Finn got in the car. "Mom, I wasn't thinking!"
"I'll say you weren't thinking," Carole said. "I did not raise you to say that."
"I was just really uncomfortable and lost it," Finn said. "Kurt was into me and he was throwing himself at me a lot. I wasn't ready to move in with them and I don't feel okay with sharing a room with Kurt. I lost it Mom! I'm sorry! I really like Kurt, I didn't want to hurt him!"
"Well, you're really going to have to make it up to Kurt," Carole said.
x
Rachel in the auditorium, looking through some of the other songs they'd considered for this week's assignment when Shelby came in. "So, how'd your dads come up with the name Rachel?"
"They were big Friends fans," Rachel said. She could tell by the look on Shelby's face why she'd come. "I know why you're here: to say goodbye."
"I really wanted this to work," Shelby said. "Do you know what really turned me? That story that you told me about your dads, and how they'd bring you water when you were sad. We're never gonna have anything like that. It's too late for us. I just think that anything we share right now is gonna be confusing for you."
Rachel still wanted this to work. Was Shelby really going to give up this easily? "I just don't understand. You're my mom. I feel awful right now, and I should want to just fall into your arms and let you rock me and tell me everything is gonna be fine, but... I just don't feel it."
"It's because I'm your mother, but I'm not your mom," Shelby said.
"So what? Do we just pretend we don't know each other now?" Rachel asked.
"That seems silly," Shelby said. "Let's just be grateful for one another from afar for a while. Don't think for a second I'm gonna go soft on you during regionals."
Rachel figured there was no use in trying if Shelby didn't want her to. "Bring it."
"Can I have a hug goodbye?" Shelby asked.
"Sure," Rachel said as they shared a hug.
Shelby reached into her purse. "Can you do me one more favor? Sometime when you're thirsty, can you get yourself some water from this cup?" She handed Rachel a glass with a gold star. "Gold stars are kinda my thing."
Maybe that was where Rachel had gotten it from. "Of course. Shelby, before you go, will you sing with me? Just one time. It's sort of a fantasy of mine, and it would really mean a lot to me."
"I would be honored," Shelby said.
After singing together, Shelby simply told Rachel she was really good and walked away. Rachel had a feeling this was the last time she'd spend with her mother. Her lifelong dream had been to be close to her mother, and her mother didn't want to be close to her. It was one thing when the kids at school didn't want to be her friend, but her mother... Shelby wasn't married, she didn't have any other kids, wouldn't she at least want to be close to Rachel? Rachel just sat down and began crying.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Rachel looked up and saw Finn.
"She doesn't want me," Rachel told Finn.
Finn sat down and put his arms around Rachel. "I'm so sorry."
"She said that anything would be too confusing and that she's not my mom," Rachel said. "It hurts, Finn."
"I'm sure it does," Finn said, hugging Rachel.
Rachel tried to take her mind off things. "So, what are you doing here?"
"I just needed some time to think," Finn said.
"Are you okay?" Rachel asked.
"Yesterday I got in a big argument with Kurt," Finn sighed. "He redecorated the basement at his house and it was a little too feminine for my taste. I lost my temper and used a slur against some of some of the decorations. What I did was wrong, but I want to make it up to Kurt."
"Did you try talking to him?" Rachel asked.
"Yeah, he wouldn't let me," Finn said. "I feel horrible, Rach."
Something came to mind. "I have an idea," Rachel said. "Tomorrow Mr. Schue wants us to all wear our theatricality costumes. You should maybe wear another one, to show solidarity with Kurt."
"What do you mean?" Finn asked.
"We're going to get you a gaga costume," Rachel said.
x
Finn walked down the hall in the Lady Gaga dress he and Rachel had made out of a red shower curtain. At first he hadn't liked this idea, but then he realized that it would help Kurt understand that he hadn't meant what he said. He cared about Kurt and he wanted to support him. Sure enough, he found Kurt at the end of the hall with Azimio and Karofsky.
"You want to hit me? You want to beat me up?" Kurt was saying. "Go ahead. But I swear to you. I will never change. I'm proud to be different. It's the best thing about me. So go ahead, hit me."
"I believe I will. Sir, would you like to go first?" Azimio asked Karofsky.
"You're not hitting anyone," Finn said.
Kurt, Karofsky and Azimio turned to face Finn. "Oh, my God," Kurt said.
"Is he wearing a red rubber dress or am I tripping?" Azimio asked.
Finn ignored that. "I want to thank you, Kurt. I realize I still have a lot to learn, but the reason I'm here right now, in a shower curtain, is because of you. And I'm not going to let anyone lay a hand on you."
"Oh, really, dude?" Karofsky asked. "Cause I'm pretty sure we can take both of you."
"Yeah? But can you take all of us?" a voice asked. Finn turned and saw the rest of the glee club in their theatricality outfits.
"Okay. Okay, I get it. I took biology. You know what, Karofsky? We done disturbed the freak hive. The worker freaks is trying to protect the queen freak," Azimio said.
"Next time, we'll bring some friends, too," Karofsky threatened before he and Azimio left.
"I'm tired of everyone calling us freaks," Rachel said.
Mercedes laughed. "Take a look at us. We are freaks."
Finn looked at Kurt. "But we're all freaks together. And we shouldn't have to hide it."
Mr. Schue arrived. "Nice job, Finn. I think you just figured out what the lesson was. Kinda makes me wish I had planned it. But Mercedes is right, you do all look incredibly insane. Anyways, let's get back to work before you're all forced to join the circus. Next stop? Regionals."
"Hey, thanks," Kurt whispered to Finn as they headed back to the choir room. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have thrown myself at you."
"It's okay," Finn whispered. "I'm sorry too."
"Well, you just made it up to me," Kurt said.
