Hello everyone! Thanks a lot for the reviews on the last chapter. It was one of my favorite episodes :) This episode isn't my favorite, but we did get some nice Finchel and Finn moments out of it and as always, I added a few in. Hope you enjoy it and review if you want me to keep going!

Chapter 28: The Rocky Horror Glee Show

"So, I've been thinking, we should go trick or treating this year," Rachel said to Finn as they waited for glee to start. "We could dress as a famous couple and all that."

Finn liked that idea. Last year for Halloween, he was with Quinn while she was pregnant, and she'd spent most of the night yelling at him. "That sounds great."

"Part of me never grew up," Rachel said. "I've always wanted to go trick or treating, but until this year, I had no one to go with."

"You do now," Finn said, taking Rachel's hand. "What do you want to be?"

"Hmmm," Rachel said, pausing for a minute. "We could be Christine and the Phantom."

"Who are they?" Finn asked, assuming it was a Broadway show.

"They're from Phantom of the Opera, remember when we watched that?" Rachel asked.

"Oh yeah," Finn said. "I don't know if Broadway costumes are a good idea."

Rachel smirked at Finn. "Do YOU have any ideas?"

"Well, people call me Frankenteen," Finn said. "We could be Frankenstein and his bride."

"Hmmm," Rachel said. "That actually is a good idea. You are tall enough to be frankenstein."

"You think so?" Finn asked.

"Yeah!" Rachel said.

Finn liked this idea more and more. "This is going to be so much fun."

"It is," Finn agreed. "We should look up Mr. Schue in the phonebook and go to his house!"

"Yes!" Rachel said. "Or Coach Sylvester. I bet her house is so scary at Halloween."

Finn laughed at how cute Rachel was as Mr. Schue came in. "Great news, guys. I've had a little inspiration. This week's musical lesson isn't really a lesson. It's a musical."

"Oh, please be Evita, please be Evita," Rachel mumbled.

"Rocky Horror," Mr. Schue announced

What was that? "I've never seen it," Finn said.

"Mr. Schue," Rachel said.

"Yep?" Mr. Schue asked.

"While I admire your choice of the groundbreaking '70s musical, aren't you worried that the adult themes might be a point of controversy?" Rachel asked.

Now Finn was getting nervous. Was something up with this show?

"Seriously," Kurt added. "A school in Texas couldn't even do rent. It caused an outrage and they had to cancel the show."

"Isn't that the whole point of the arts?" Mr. Schue asked. "Pushing boundaries, doing things people say you can't do for the sake of self-expression? I got it all figured out. I cut out some of the more risqué sections. And I'm sending home permission slips to all your parents to make sure that they're okay with it. And we're going to charge admission and use the proceeds to help pay for transportation to nationals in New York. Okay, let's talk about casting."

"Oh, Finn and I will play Brad and Janet," Rachel said.

Was that the main couple? If so, Finn definitely wanted to do that.

"And I'll be playing the guy in the wheelchair, right?" Artie asked.

"That's what I was thinking," Mr. Schue said. "And I thought Kurt could play the role of Frank-N-Furter."

"No," Kurt demanded. "There's no way I'm playing a transvestite in high heels and fishnets and wearing lipstick."

"Why? 'Cause that look was last season?" Santana sneered.

"I'll do it," Mike offered.

"Really?" Tina asked. "It's, like, the male lead."

"I know, but I'm feeling a little more confident about my singing voice after our duets project," Mike said.

"Great!" Mr. Schue said. "I have no problem with that. Now, we're a little short on female roles, so we're going to have to double up on Columbias and Magentas."

"It's standard practice on Broadway. It'll preserve your voices," Rachel explained.

"I'd like to preserve you. In a jar. In my basement," Mercedes snapped.

Finn was so tired of people giving Rachel a hard time all the time. He wanted to say something to Mercedes, but Mr. Schue continued talking. "Sam, I'd like you to play the role of the creature."

"From the black lagoon?" Sam asked.

"Rocky," Quinn said. "He's like the frankenstein character, but blond. You'll kill the part. He's cute, just like you."

"Better start working on those abs," Santana said.

"Are you kidding me?" Sam asked. "You could cut glass with these babies. I have no problem showing off my body."

Would Finn have to show off his body too? Oh no. He didn't like the idea of that. He didn't have the same type of abs that some of the other guys had. Would people think there was something wrong with his body?

"Okay. Looks like we got ourselves a show," Mr. Schue said. He handed out the scripts, but Finn still wasn't sure if this was a good idea. Yes, he liked the idea of performing with Rachel, but he didn't want to take any risks.

"This is going to be so much fun," Rachel said as they left the room. "You and I will get to play a couple from a musical."

"Yeah, that'll be great," Finn said. "Rach, have you seen this show?"

"Yeah, I saw the movie," Rachel said. She looked at Finn. "You okay?"

"You said that it was a little risque," Finn said.

"It is a little risque," Rachel admitted. "I guess I can trust Mr. Schue to cut the risque parts out though."

"Okay," Finn said. "Do you have the movie?"

"Yeah, want to watch it with me?" Rachel asked.

"Yeah, that sounds good," Finn said. They headed to Rachel's car and drove to her house.

Rachel admitted that there were some parts of Rocky Horror she'd be uncomfortable with, but it was her first school production. The next day, she and Finn met up in the auditorium to go over some of their lines. "So then after the time warp, riff raff aka Kurt takes us to Frank-N-Furter's lab," Rachel said.

Finn looked confused. "I have no idea what's going on in this script, and it's not in a cool inception kind of way."

"Just try, okay?" Rachel said. "All right, so, then they take off our wet clothes, and we do the rest of the scene in our underwear."

Finn looked nervous. "Wait, I'm in my tighty-whities?"

"Yeah," Rachel said. She had to admit, she liked the idea of seeing Finn shirtless.

Finn didn't look fond of that. "I can't be on stage, in front of the whole school in my tighty-whities. They're gonna be able to see my whole business."

Rachel tried to make Finn feel better. "Come on. It'll just be like going to the pool."

Finn looked even more nervous. "I wear a swim shirt at the pool. I tell everybody it's because I burn easily, but I know I'm a big athlete, and it's not manly or anything... but I'm kind of insecure about how I look."

Now Rachel remembered that Finn always wore t-shirts when they went to the pool this summer. "Come on. You just... You know, you have a different body type. I don't look like Brittany or santana, but you still think I'm hot, right?"

"Yeah, of course," Finn said.

"So, then, you're just going to have to trust me that you're the hottest guy in school. Okay?" Rachel asked. She wished Finn could see himself the way she saw him.

Finn smiled at her. "Okay."

Rachel pulled Finn over for a hug. "Come here."

"I can't go out there in my underwear," Finn told Sam as he went into the locker room. Sam would have some advice, right? He was playing another part that would need him to be shirtless.

"Chicken, egg whites, fish... no salmon... oatmeal, brown rice, but not after 6:00 P.M. No butter or oil and no soda," Sam rambled.

Finn didn't understand what Sam meant at first, but then he got it. "That's all you eat?"

"Ain't no carpool lane to sexy," Sam said.

"Damn straight," Artie added.

Finn wanted to look good, but he didn't want to give up the food he loved. "I don't know, man, I never used to think about this stuff. I mean, we're guys. When did this start to matter?"

"I personally blame the Internet," Artie said. "Once Internet porn was invented, girls could watch without having to make that embarrassing trip to the video store. Internet porn altered the female brain chemistry, making them more like men. And thus more concerned with our bodies."

Finn didn't know how Sam did it. "But doesn't it get exhausting thinking about what you eat, like, working out like a madman?"

"Nah," Sam said. "I mean, if I miss a workout or eat a hot dog, I hate myself for a few days, but the fact is, if I want to be cool, if I want to get Quinn for good, I got to look the part. You get up on that stage and look like the Pillsbury doughboy, no way you're staying popular. Come on, let's do some squats."

Did Sam think Finn was fat?

x

Rehearsals had been going well and Finn enjoyed playing Rachel's love interest, but he hadn't taken off his shirt yet. Before glee practice, he was waiting for Sam in the weight room. Sam was taking a while, so Finn decided to start lfting without a spotter. The weight was heavier than he expected, and he was relieved when he heard Sam's voice behind him. "Whoa, whoa."

"Ah, wow, yeah. I would've had it," Finn said.

"Yeah, sure. Not that big," Sam said.

"Where you been? You're late," Finn asked.

"Sorry. I spaced. I'm not playing Rocky anymore," Sam told Finn.

So Sam got out of being shirtless. "You're kidding. Who is?"

"Mr. Schue," Sam said. "I totally blew this. I shouldn't have made all those demands about my costume. I just feel, I feel fat, like I had rolls hanging over those gold shorts."

Finn was confused. Sam was in great shape. "But you're in perfect shape, dude. Wait, since I said I'm uncomfortable in the tighty-whities, does that mean I'm gonna get replaced next?" He didn't want another guy playing Rachel's leading man.

"No, you don't have to worry about that," Sam said. "The Brad part isn't about looking hot. It's about being confident in who you are and how you look, no matter how douchey you are. That's guy's totally cool being uncool."

"Yeah, I'm definitely not there," Finn admitted. "I actually started showering with my shirt on."

"Look, stop knocking yourself out in here," Sam said. "Just be you and the sexy will flow through."

Finn began thinking. Maybe he should give this a try. "Yeah. Yeah, you're right. I don't need to hide behind my muscles, like you do." He started to leave the room.

"Awesome. I think. Are you insulting me? Where are you going?" Sam called.

Finn turned around. "To show everyone how hot and sexy I am." He then went into the hall and began walking through the hall in only his underwear. Other students were giving him strange looks. Did he look bad shirtless? If so, maybe this wasn't a good idea...

Then he heard Principal Figgins' voice. "Finn Hudson, put on your clothes and come to my office."

Finn gulped. That didn't sound good. He went into the bathroom, put on his clothes and went to Principal Figgins' office. "What were you thinking?" Principal Figgins asked.

"There's a scene where I have to perform in my underwear in Rocky Horror and I was just trying to get used to it..." Finn said. What was he supposed to say? It was just a thought that came to him.

"I'm calling Mr. Schue," Principal Figgins said. "That was not right, Finn."

Finn sighed. "It won't happen again."

Mr. Schue was in the office in a few minutes. "What's going on?"

"Finn was walking around in his underwear," Principal Figgins told Mr. Schue.

Mr. Schue looked at Finn. "Why would you do that?"

"I was trying to get comfortable in my costume," Finn explained. "You don't understand how hard it is for us guys to be exposed like that. Just thought maybe it would make me feel hot enough to get up on stage and sing in my underwear."

"I'm recommending one month's suspension and summer school to make up for any lost class time," Principal Figgins said.

A month? Now Finn felt even worse. Mr. Schue turned to Principal Figgins. "Can we have a moment alone please?"

Finn stepped out of the room, getting more and more worried. What would his mom think if he got suspended? And what would Rachel think? After a few minutes, Mr. Schue came out. "You're not suspended, Finn. You just got a warning."

Finn sighed with relief. "Good."

"And if you don't want to, you don't have to take your clothes off in that scene," Mr. Schue said.

Finn smiled. "Thanks, Mr. Schue. I really don't feel comfortable with that."

"It's fine," Mr. Schue said. "Let's get back to rehearsal. It's almost time for you and Rachel to sing together."

"Great," Finn said. He always loved singing with Rachel. When they got back to rehearsal, it was almost time for their song. "I'll explain later," Finn whispered to Rachel as the music began.

Rachel: In the velvet darkness of the blackest night
Burning bright, there's a guiding star
No matter what or who, who you are
Rachel and Finn (New Directions): There's a light (over at the Frankenstein Place)
There's a light (Burning in the fireplace)
There's a light, light...
In the darkness of everybody's life

In the middle of the song, Carl Howell came in. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Schuester, you messing with my woman? I thought we had a deal."

What was going on? As Mr. Schue and Dr. Howell argued, Rachel whispered to Finn. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'll explain after rehearsal," Finn whispered back.

"Okay," Rachel said.

"Okay, everyone, go home," Mr. Schue said. "I'm not sure if this was a good idea. We'll talk about it tomorrow."

"What was that for?" Finn asked Rachel as they left.

"I don't know," Rachel said. "Finn, what happened earlier?"

Finn didn't know how Rachel would react to this. "Rach, I'm really sorry, but I was so nervous about performing in my underwear that I went walking through the halls in my underwear."

Rachel looked shocked. "You did?"

"Yeah, I almost got suspended," Finn said.

Rachel gave Finn a hug. "Finn, you should have told me you were that insecure."

"I didn't want to upset you," Finn told Rachel.

"We all have our insecurities," Rachel said. "I hate my nose."

"I love your nose," Finn said.

Rachel gave Finn a kiss. "I love you. Remember that. You're perfect in my eyes."

"Thanks," Finn said. "Want to come to my house?"

"I'd love to," Rachel said.

The next day in glee, Mr. Schue had an announcement. "We aren't going to perform Rocky Horror. Rachel was right. It's not appropriate. I want to apologize for putting you guys through all this... particularly Finn and Sam."

"It's cool, Mr. Schue. I'm sure the teasing will die down by the time my tenth reunion rolls around," Finn said. Well, he'd only been teased once today.

"And I got asked to be June in the men of McKinley high calendar," Sam said.

"I'm happy for you," Mr. Schue said. "But we still can't do the musical. Look, I was wrong. Rocky Horror isn't about pushing boundaries or making an audience accept a certain rebellious point of view. Those were my reasons for doing it, and they aren't worth risking what we have here for. And when I was younger, and they started midnight shows of Rocky Horror, it wasn't for envelope pushers. It was for outcasts, people on the fringes who had no place left to go, but were searching for someplace, anyplace, where they felt like they belonged. Sound familiar? The truth is, with that perspective, Rocky Horror is the perfect show for this club."

"Well, then why aren't we putting it on?" Santana asked.

"We're still going to perform Rocky Horror," Mr. Schue said. "We're just not doing it for an audience. We're doing it for ourselves."

That was better. That was Finn could still perform with Rachel, and he knew he didn't have to worry about taking his clothes off. The glee club went to the auditorium to do Rocky Horror for themselves, and soon it was time for one of Finn and Rachel's duets from the show.

Finn: Hey, Janet...
Rachel: Yes, Brad?
Finn: I've got something to say.
Rachel: Uh-huh.
Finn: I really loved the... skillful way... You beat the other girls... to the bride's bouquet.
Rachel: Oh, Brad!
Finn: The river was deep, but I swam it
The future is ours, so let's plan it
So please don't tell me to can it
I've one thing to say
And that's damn it, Janet, I love you
The road was long, but I ran it Janet
There's a fire in my heart and you fan it
If there's one fool for you, then I am it...
I've one thing to say
And that's damn it, Janet, I love you
Here's a ring to prove that I'm no joker
There's three ways that love can grow
That's good, bad or mediocre
Oh, j-a-n-e-t, I love you so
Rachel: It's nicer than Betty Munroe had
Now we're engaged and I'm so glad
That you've met mom and you know dad
I've one thing to say
And that's Brad, I'm mad for you, too...

Shortly after the duet, it was time for Finn's favorite number of the show. This would be even more fun since it was the real thing now.

Kurt: It's astounding, time is fleeting
Madness, takes it's toll
But listen closely
Quinn: Not for very much longer
Kurt: I've got to keep control
Finn: I remember doing the Time Warp
Drinking those moments when
The blackness would hit me
Finn and Quinn: And the void would be calling
New Directions: Let's do the Time Warp again
Let's do the Time Warp again
Artie: It's just a jump to the left
New Directions: And then a step to the right
Artie: Put your hands on your hips
New Directions: And bring your knees in tight
But it's a pelvic thrust
That really drives you insane
Let's do the Time Warp again
Let's do the Time Warp again
Quinn: It's so dreamy
Oh, fantasy, free me
So you can't see me, no not at all
In another dimension, with voyeuristic intentions
Well secluded, Oh, I'll see it all
Kurt: With a bit of a mind flip
Quinn: You're into the time slip
Kurt: And nothing can ever be the same
Santana: You're spaced out on sensation, ow!
Finn: Like you're under sedation
New Directions: Let's do the Time Warp again
Let's do the Time Warp again
Brittany: Well, I was walking down the street just a-having a think
When a snake of a guy gave me an evil wink
Tina: He shook-a me up, he took me by surprise
He had a pickup truck and the devil's eyes
He stared at me and I felt a change
Time meant nothing, never would again
New Directions: Let's do the Time Warp again
Let's do the Time Warp again
Artie: It's just a jump to the left
New Directions: And then a step to the right
Artie: Put your hands on your hips
New Directions: And bring your knees in tight
But it's a pelvic thrust
That really drives you insane
New Directions: Let's do the Time Warp again
Let's do the Time Warp again

Performing the musical had been fun, and Finn hoped that next year, there'd be another musical so he and Rachel could perform opposite each other again. Rachel gave Finn a big hug when they finished. "You were great!"

"So were you," Finn said. "Rach, I'm sorry for being so insecure..."

"Finn, remember that you're perfect to me," Rachel said.

"I always will," Finn said.

"So, excited for Halloween tomorrow?" Rachel asked.

"Of course," Finn said, taking Rachel's hand. This was only the first of many holidays he hoped they'd spend together.
