Hi guys! This was one of my favorite Season 2 episodes, so I was really excited to write this chapter. The next few are going to be tough, but I'll do my best to make them as Finchelly as possible. Hope you like this one and review if I should keep going!

Chapter 31: Furt

Finn looked up from his locker and saw his mom and Kurt's dad both hanging on to Kurt's arms as they walked to his locker. He thought his mom and Burt were both working this morning. What were they doing here? And why did they seem so high energy? "What's going on? Is this one of those interventions?" Finn asked.

"If it is, it's for the both of us. They bombarded me and forced me to bring them to you," Kurt said.

"Okay, come on, tell 'em," Burt said with excitement.

"No, no, no, you!" Carole said with just as much excitement. Burt and Carole proceeded to argue over who would tell Finn and Kurt as the boys exchanged confused looks. What was this?

"All right," Burt finally said. "So you know how I drive Carole to work every Tuesday? Well, today I drove here, and we snuck into that classroom where Kurt introduced us... very romantic of me, I might add... And I..."

"He proposed! He proposed!" Carole shouted.

"You stole the punch line! Come on!" Burt said.

Finn couldn't believe it. His mom was getting married? "Wow. This just happened?"

Kurt seemed enthralled by Carole's ring. "Oh, Dad! Oh!"

"We wanted the two of you to be the first to know," Carole said.

"Yeah, after the kids in that homeroom. Come on, family hug, huh?" Burt said, pulling Finn in.

"I'm so excited and nervous!" Carole said.

"Oh, don't be, don't be," Kurt said. "Oh, my God, this is just what I needed. I will take care of it from here. I have a trunk full of wedding magazines hidden under my bed. I'm thinking of a russet and cognac theme. Those are colors, Finn. Fall wedding colors. Autumnal."

"Nothing too extravagant, Kurt, okay?" Burt asked. "We're gonna use whatever savings we have. We are spending it on the honeymoon. That's right. We're going to Waikiki. We're gonna go to the hotel where they put up the guest stars on Lost."

Carole looked at Finn. "Finn, you haven't said anything."

Finn didn't know what to say. Of course he was happy for his mom, but he wasn't sure if he was ready for this. "Uh, I'm... I guess I'm just kind of stunned."

Burt patted Finn on the back. "Hey, don't worry. I'm already looking for a bigger house. One where everybody's gonna get their own rooms. All right?"

Carole looked at Finn. "Come on, honey. Be happy for me."

Finn felt guilty. Did Carole really think he wasn't? "I am, Mom."

Burt turned to Kurt. "All right, now listen, Kurt, Mr. Wedding Planner, I want you to take care of one thing. I don't care about the food or the booze at this party, but I want one heck of a band. I've been eating right. I've been exercising. And I want to boogie with Carole at this wedding. And I will boogie."

"All right. It's already taken care of, Dad. I'm going to hire the New Directions as your band," Kurt said, looking at Finn. "Right? It won't cost you a cent. They're cheap, they're available. Long story short... you're having a Glee wedding."

Finn actually liked that idea. It would probably be fun to perform love songs. Maybe he and Rachel could to a duet.

x

"So, guess what?" Finn said to Rachel as they sat down to lunch.

"Tell me," Rachel said.

"My mom and Kurt's dad are getting married," Finn said.

Rachel smiled. "Finn, that's amazing!"

"You think?" Finn asked. "I'm not sure if I'm ready for this."

"What's wrong?" Rachel asked. "I thought you'd be happy about getting a dad and a brother."

Finn knew he should be honest with Rachel. "What about my dad? You know, the man who helped create me?"

"I'm sure Burt would understand that you aren't quite ready to consider him a dad," Rachel said. "Remember that conversation you guys had when he and your mom first started dating?"

"Yeah," Finn said. He thought back to that conversation.

"He's not trying to replace your dad," Rachel reminded Finn. "He and your mom just make each other happy."

Kurt came up to Finn and Rachel's lunch table. "Hi, Finn. Hi, Rachel. Did Finn tell you?"

"Yeah!" Rachel said. "I'm so happy for you guys!"

"Thanks, I'm so excited!" Kurt said. He handed Finn a sheet of paper. "Okay, so during my study hall this morning, I put together a wedding itinerary and I thought you should check it out. It is your mom's wedding, and you're the other best man, so let me know if there's anything we should add in."

Finn was glad to see Kurt happy. It had been a rough year for him. Maybe this wasn't such a bad thing. "I'm sure you know what you're doing."

"Finn, you should be part of the planning," Kurt said. He turned to Rachel. "Oh, Rachel, the glee club is performing."

"That's awesome!" Rachel said.

"I know, right?" Kurt said. "Anyway, Finn, let me know what you think of everything I came up with." Kurt then left to go to his usual lunch table with Mercedes, Tina, Mike, Artie and Brittany.

"I'm glad he's happy about something," Finn thought out loud to Rachel. "Karofsky's getting out of control. The only time I ever really see him happy is when he's with Blaine."

"I'm sorry to hear that," Rachel said. "Have you considered trying to talk to Karofsky?"

"Karofsky doesn't take me seriously," Finn said. "Even before I joined glee, he picked on me. It wouldn't do anything."

"He did?" Rachel asked.

"Yeah," Finn said. "Everyone thought of me as being popular because I was the quarterback, but I was the guy everyone on the football team made fun of. Mike was nice to me our first two years, and I guess I had Puck as a friend too, but lots of the guys just didn't like me."

"Well, we are juniors," Rachel said. "Less than two years before all this is over."

"Yeah," Finn said. He began looking at the itinerary. "I don't get what most of this even means."

"Want me to help you?" Rachel asked.

Finn smiled at her. "Yeah, that'd be great."

x

Finn had a chance to look over the wedding itinerary that night, but he didn't understand some of it, and he felt bad that it seemed to be more geared toward Kurt than him. The next day, he went up to Kurt. "Hey, uh, so I've been reviewing this itinerary, and I don't really get it. Are you sure we should release 300 live doves indoors? Won't that get kind of messy?"

"That's why we feed them glitter, Finn," Kurt commented.

Finn didn't know if that would make a difference. "Oh. Well, look, I've been thinking about it. I really want to do something special for the wedding, and I wanted to take this opportunity to sort of remind everyone that I'm a leader."

Kurt thought for a moment. "I have the perfect idea. After you walk your mom down the aisle, and give her away to my dad and give your speech to the newlyweds - which I will write, although you are free to suggest overall themes - you and Carole will have a lovely mother-and-son dance in front of everyone."

Finn shook his head. "Ah, that's a terrible idea. Everybody knows I'm the worst dancer." And he kind of wanted to write his own speech...

"Finn, trust me on this," Kurt said. "I've been planning weddings since I was two. My Power Rangers got married and divorced in so many combinations, they were like Fleetwood Mac."

Power Rangers wedding? That was something Finn would have liked to see. "I guess if I could pull it off, it would make me seem like a cool stud."

"Totally," Kurt agreed.

"Thanks. It's a plan," Finn said before he walked away.

x

Rachel couldn't help but keep thinking about her and Finn's conversation about Kurt. She'd been slushied and called names, sure, but she'd never been physically assaulted the way Kurt was. She had a feeling that something had happened that she didn't know about, but she knew Kurt probably wouldn't tell her. She'd say something to Karofsky if it would make a difference, but she doubted that he'd take her seriously. Finn said that he'd been picked on by the football team, but maybe if all the glee guys on the football team banded together, that could make some sort of difference. Rachel sent a text to Tina, Brittany and Quinn, asking them to meet her in the choir room. "Ladies, the Kurt-Karofsky bullying situation is getting way out of control," Rachel told the other girls once they were all there. "Kurt's miserable, he's losing weight... and not in a good way. And he's barely even fighting me for solos anymore." She knew the girls didn't like her very much, but they had agreed to meet her here, and they all liked Kurt.

"We've all been teased, but something about what Karofsky's doing is so much worse," Tina said.

Rachel felt some sort of encouragement. "We're all lucky enough to have boyfriends on the football team. I say, we band together and demand that they confront Karofsky."

"Okay, first off all, I'm not dating Sam. And second of all, I think you personally just set the feminist movement back 50 years," Quinn said.

Rachel thought they were. "But guys like Karofsky only respond to muscle."

"So we're going to fight violence with violence?" Quinn asked.

"No! Look, I'm not saying that they should hit him. What I'm saying is that we need to defend Kurt, and there's strength in numbers," Rachel said.

Tina looked at Brittany. "I'm confused. Are you and Artie officially dating now?"

"Deal with it,' Brittany said before leaning over to whisper to Tina.

Santana came in. "Why didn't you tell me that we were having a Glee girls meeting?"

"This is a meeting for Glee girls with boyfriends. We're going to make them stop Karofsky from bullying Kurt," Rachel said. Santana didn't have a boyfriend.

"Okay, I'm dating Puckerman," Santana snapped.

Quinn said what Rachel was thinking. "You're getting naked with Puckerman."

"Besides, Puck can't mess with Karofsky," Tina added. "He's on probation. If he gets in a fight with him, he'll be sent back to juvee."

"Yeah, so now if you'll excuse us," Rachel said.

"You're so on my list, dwarf," Santana sneered as she started to leave the room.

"Look, if something bad happens to Kurt, and we didn't do anything to stop it, we'll never be able to live with ourselves," Rachel said.

"Yeah, this is pretty bad," Tina agreed.

"Every now and then, you do something right," Quinn said to Rachel.

"Thanks," Rachel said. She knew if this was her, no one would be trying to do something to get things to stop. "Let's hope this makes some sort of difference."

x

Rachel went up to Finn in the hall at school the next day. "Hey Finn, I talked to Quinn, Brittany and Tina, and they're going to have Sam, Artie and Mike get together to tell Karofsky to stop bullying Kurt. I remember you told me the other day that you thought Karofsky would just pick on you if you went to talk to him, so I thought maybe if I got the other guys to help out, you'd be okay. It would be four against one."

Finn paused for a minute. "Rach, I can't."

Rachel couldn't believe it. Was Finn that afraid of Karofsky? "But why?"

"Karofsky plays right guard," Finn said. "If he gets pissed at me, I'm going to get sacked more times than Jay Cutler, which means we're going to lose, which means Beiste is going to make Sam quarterback."

Rachel couldn't believe it. "Is being quarterback more important to you than helping out the kid who's going to be your stepbrother?"

"Look, we both know I can help him more if I stay on top. Look, Kurt's going to be fine. Rachel, I'm sorry. I want to, but I can't," Finn rambled.

Rachel had never heard Finn sound more superficial. "I've never been so disappointed in you before." Hoping it would give some time for Finn to think, Rachel walked away.

x

The next day in glee practice, Finn discovered that it was too late for him to change his mind. Sam had a black eye, and Mike and Artie were talking about what had happened when the three of them had confronted Karofsky.

"Dude was a wild animal," Mike said.

"Manimal," Artie agreed.

"I'm so turned on by you right now," Brittany mumbled.

"How bad does it look?" Sam asked Quinn.

"It's pretty hot, actually," Quinn said.

"You have no idea how hard it was for me not to jump into that beatdown," Puck declared.

"Where were you, Finn?" Santana asked.

"I was still out on the field, okay? I totally would have given him a beatdown if I had been there, though," Finn said. That wasn't entirely a lie. But Rachel didn't look too impressed.

Mercedes didn't sound impressed either. "The fact is, it shouldn't have gone down without you, Finn. You should have been leading the charge."

"Lay off Finn, everyone," Kurt said. "It isn't his problem. It's none of your problems, actually. But thank you for what you did, especially Sam."

"Serious, an epitome of a leader," Mike said.

Mr. Schue came in. "What's going on? What happened to Sam's eye?"

"He stood up to Karofsky," Quinn said.

"All the guys did," Tina said. "Well, not Finn."

"Is everyone okay? Do we all need to go talk to Principal Sylvester?" Mr. Schue asked.

"No. I got in a few good licks, too, so we can just call it even. And maybe this will send a warning to Karofsky, telling him to back off Kurt," Sam said.

"You okay, Kurt?" Mr. Schue asked. "All right, guys. Let's take our places. We got a wedding to prepare for."

Mr. Schue had suggested the whole group sing as Burt and Carole walked down the aisle with each couple taking a part of the song. At the end of practice, Finn stopped Mr. Schue. He had an idea now. "Hey Mr. Schue, can we maybe do another big group number?" Finn asked when it was just him and Mr. Schue.

"Of course," Mr. Schue said. "You have anything in mind?"

"I was thinking Just The Way You Are," Finn said. "It would be a song for my mom, for Kurt and for Rachel. Kurt wants me to do a mother-son dance with my mom, but we all know singing's my strength, not dancing."

"I think that's a great idea, Finn," Mr. Schue said. "Maybe we could have some secret meetings to prepare it."

"Yeah," Finn said. "I want to do something special."

Shortly after glee practice, Burt and Kurt arrived so Kurt could give Burt and Finn pointers on dancing for the wedding. "Thank you both for attending the Kurt Hummel Wedding Dance Seminar," Kurt said. "Dad, you're going to have to pull off the first dance with Carole. And if Uncle Andy's 40th birthday party was any indication, you're going to need some work."

"What are you talking about?" Burt asked. "My moves were great, okay? It was the damn sangria."

Kurt didn't look impressed. "Okay. We dance to the beat, not to the words."

"Affected my coordination," Burt clarified. "I'm here, right?"

"Yes, right here," Kurt said. "Okay. All right, have you guys chosen a wedding song?"

"We're thinking Stairway or some Buble," Burt said.

Kurt escorted Burt out of his chair and began leading him in the dancing. "Okay. Great. So it's basically one-two-three-four. Okay. Follow me, all right? Gentleman leads on the left. Right. Opposite of me. Okay? Get ready? Opposite. One-two-three-four. Okay, getting back."

"Hey, look at me, I'm dancing, huh? Look at that!" Burt exclaimed.

"Yeah, okay. Come over here, and dance with yourself, practice," Kurt said, walking toward Finn.

"Come on, Finn, no chickening out," Burt said. "I did it. You got to do it, too."

Finn was worried that someone might see what was going on and be mean to Kurt in front of his dad. "Can we... Can we shut the door? I'm not really comfortable with people watching," Finn said. Maybe Kurt would fall for this. Finn wasn't the best dancer.

Kurt didn't seem to fall for it. "What are you talking about? You danced in front of 1,000 people at Regionals."

"Okay," Finn sighed. As they were about to start, Karofsky passed and began mocking their gesture.

Finn hoped Burt wouldn't notice, but he clearly did. "What the hell was that?"

"It's nothing, Dad," Kurt said.

"That was not nothing. That guy was making fun of you. What the hell's his name?" Burt asked.

Burt didn't know about Karofsky? "Tell him, Kurt," Finn said.

"Tell me what?" Burt asked.

"Tell him, or I will," Finn said. Burt didn't even know Kurt was being bullied? This was worse than Finn thought.

"His name's Dave Karofsky," Kurt stuttered. "He's... been harassing me for a few weeks now."

"Harassing you how?" Burt asked.

"Just... Shoving me, and giving me a hard time," Kurt managed to say.

"There's more. There's something else you're not telling me," Burt said.

"He threatened to kill me," Kurt said.

Finn couldn't believe it. "What? You've got to be kidding me." Burt ran out of the room, and Finn and Kurt ran after him, where Burt was cornering Karofsky in the hall. "Burt!" Finn gasped.

"You like picking on people? Why don't you try me?" Burt snapped at Karofsky.

"Burt! Stop!" Finn said.

"Please, you're sick. Come on," Kurt protested.

Burt turned to Finn. "What the hell have you been doing while this is all going on, huh?" He walked away with Kurt, leaving Finn to think.

Finn felt worse than ever.

x

"I'm such an idiot," Finn said as they sat in Rachel's bedroom. "You were right. Why should being quarterback be more important to me than helping Kurt?"

"We all have our moments," Rachel said. "I've had my moments when I've thought about getting a solo without anything else in mind."

Finn sighed. "Burt yelled at Karofsky in the hall. Sam, Mike and Artie did in the locker room and I was just a coward."

Rachel took Finn's hands. "Finn, it's normal to be nervous around bullies. I'm terrified of Karofsky."

"You're not mad at me anymore?" Finn asked.

"I was never mad," Rachel said. "Disappointed, but not mad." She leaned in and kissed Finn. Finn deepened it as they continued to kiss, but then Rachel pulled apart. "Wait."

"What?" Finn asked. Maybe she was mad at him...

"There's something I have to tell you," Rachel said. "I didn't have sex with Jesse. I lied, to make you jealous."

Finn didn't mind hearing that at all. In fact, he still hoped he'd be the one to take Rachel's virginity. He just wished he could save his virginity for her. "It's cool. Um, you know, I had a feeling, considering how much of a prude you are with me... not that I'm complaining."

Rachel smiled softly. "This is so much better because now neither of us have done it and we can save it for each other."

Finn didn't know what to say. He didn't want to tell Rachel about what happened with Santana. He didn't like having that image. Maybe there was another time he could tell her. Maybe Santana would eventually forget. She had done it with just about every boy at school. "Awesome."

"Kurt's really going to like your song at the wedding," Rachel said. "I think it's one of your best songs so far."

"You do?" Finn asked, glad that they didn't have to talk about sex anymore."

"For sure," Rachel said. "You know, I'm really excited for the wedding."

"My mom's so happy," Finn said. "Maybe this is for the best. I've always loved my mom, but it does feel like something's missing, you know?"

"Yeah, I know," Rachel said. She paused. "You know, Quinn and Puck gave their baby to my mother."

"Have you heard from her since then?" Finn asked.

"No," Rachel said. "I don't even know where she is now."

"I'm sure things will work out, eventually," Finn said. "I never thought things would change in my family, and now they are."

"Yeah, maybe," Rachel said. "Want to see my dress for the wedding?"

"Of course," Finn said.

Rachel went to her closet and got out a red dress. "It just came today."

"So you didn't go dress shopping with Kurt and the rest of the girls?" Finn asked.

Rachel looked surprised. "They all went shopping?"

Did this mean they hadn't invited Rachel? Finn felt annoyed right away. "I would have thought they'd have asked you."

"Of course they didn't," Rachel said. "They don't like me."

"They should," Finn said. He didn't know why people disliked Rachel.

x

The day of the wedding, Finn was in one of the dressing rooms, getting his suit ready as Santana came in. "Never learned how to tie a tie."

Santana started fixing Finn's tie. "Sit down, Frankenteen. I'm guessing you know that you're losing it. I mean, Sam is clearly the new Glee favorite, he's going to become starting quarterback..."

Finn didn't get this. "What's your point?"

"My point is that you need a coolness injection. If you were honest and told people that we did it last year, you would go from uncool to Chilly Willy in a heartbeat," Santana snarled.

Crap. Santana hadn't forgotten. Finn was just thinking about this recently. "Maybe, but I can't do that. If she found out, she'd break up with me."

"And this would be bad because?" Santana asked.

"Because I'm in love with her and I don't want to hurt her feelings," Finn said.

"Okay, don't you see that that midget is like an anchor dragging you down to the depths of Loserville?" Santana snapped.

Finn had had enough. "Oh, stop it, Santana, that's my girlfriend. I think you should leave."

"All right. Well, maybe I'll tell her. I mean, if you two broke up, we'd be free to see each other, right?" Santana said.

Finn wouldn't want to date Santana. Or anyone but Rachel. And he REALLY hoped Santana wouldn't tell Rachel.

Just then, Rachel came in. "Hey. What are you guys doing?"

Finn hoped Santana wouldn't say something right now. Luckily, all she said was, "Nothing. I was just leaving."

Rachel looked at Finn. "Aren't you going to tell me how pretty I look?"

Finn forced a smile. "You look amazing."

Finn could tell by the look on Rachel's face that she knew something was wrong. "What?"

Finn tried to think fast. "I just really love you."

"I love you, too," Rachel said. "Let's go join the rest of the group for the opening number.

"Okay," Finn said. He was just going to enjoy today, so he took Rachel's hand as they went to join the rest of the group. They'd open the song, and as always, it was fun to sing and dance with Rachel as the ceremony began.

Finn: lt's a beautiful night
We're looking for something dumb to do
Hey, baby
I think I wanna marry you
Rachel: ls it the look in your eyes
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares, baby?
I think I wanna marry you
Quinn: Well, I know
This little chapel on the boulevard we can go
No one will know
Sam: Come on, girl
Quinn: Who cares if we're trashed?
Got a pocket full of cash
Sam and Quinn: We can blow
Shots of patro-o-on
Sam: Ahh and it's on, girl
Artie and Brittany: Don't say no, no, no, no-no,
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah,
And we'll go, go, go, go-go.
If you're ready like I'm ready
Mike and Tina: 'Cause it's a beautiful night
We're looking for something dumb to do
Hey, baby
I think I wanna marry you
New Directions: ls it the look in your eyes
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares, baby?
I think I wanna marry you!
Sam: Just say I do-oh-o-oh,
Finn: Tell me right now, baby
Artie: Tell me right now, baby, baby
Finn and Rachel: 'Cause it's a beautiful night
We're looking for something dumb to do
Hey, baby
I think I wanna marry you
New Directions: ls it the look in your eyes
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares, baby?
I think I wanna marry you.

"Please be seated," the priest said when Burt and Carole were at the altar. "We usually start with a prayer. But a certain young wedding planner, who shall remain nameless, was afraid that some in attendance might fall asleep. So instead, I'm going to let Burt and Carole tell you in their own words why they've invited you here today."

"I'm not really known for having a way with words," Burt said. "Uh... you know when you're a kid, adults will tell you a lot of things. But one thing they neglect to mention is how... sad life can be. I lost somebody I loved very much. But Kurt... he lost his mom. And that killed me. Well, we got by, but looking back? I-I want to apologize to you, Kurt. What we were living just... wasn't living. You know that saying, that when God closes a door, he opens a window? Well, sometimes out of nowhere, he'll do you one better, and he'll kick a whole wall down. He grabbed me by the shoulders, and he pointed me towards this woman right here. And he said, "There she is. Go get her." You're everything, Carole. Words can't describe you. You're everything. And I will love you till the day I die."

What Burt had said about Carole was pretty similar to how Finn felt about Rachel. He turned to her and smiled, and the look she gave him let her know she loved him just as much.

"Oh, hey... I'm lucky," Carole said. "Most women, when they get married, they get one man. I get two. One of you saved me from my wardrobe, the other one just saved me. Kurt, you are an amazing person. I'm not only getting a son, I'm getting a friend. Finn... I know you were resistant at first, but I am so proud of you. I've watched you grow into a man. But I think I'm most proud that you've become a brother to Kurt. We are four people. Becoming a family." Finn looked at Burt and then at Kurt. They really were becoming a family.

"Burt... Do you take Carole..." the priet began.

"You bet I do!" Burt shouted.

"And do you, Carole, take this man..." the priest began.

"Oh, yes I do! Yes, I do," Carole said.

Burt and Carole were pronounced husband and wife and the attendants cheered before everyone headed for the reception hall. Mr. Schue performed the song for Burt and Carole's first dance before Burt and Carole went to join Finn and Kurt at the main table.

"And now, I'd like to introduce one of the best men: Finn Hudson!" Mr. Schue said.

Finn knew that rather than giving the speech Kurt had prepared for him, he would speak from his heart. "Hi. Uh, thank you. Best man. Right. Uh... Well, I want to propose a toast to my mom... who is so awesome. I mean... somehow even without one in the house, you taught me what it means to be a man. In Glee Club, uh, whenever two of us got together, we got a nickname. Rachel and I are Finnchel. Rachel and Puck were Puckleberry. And today, a new union was formed. Furt. You and me, man. We're brothers from another mother. And quite frankly, no one else has shown me as much as you about what it means to be a man. And over the past few weeks, uh, some stuff's gone down. And I haven't manned up like I should've. From now on? No matter what it costs me, I got your back. Okay? Even if it means getting a Slushee in the face every now and then. You put this entire wedding together by yourself, Kurt. So as a thank you, I had the Glee Club put together a little number in your honor. You're going to dance it with me, dude."

Finn went up to Kurt and smiled as the glee club joined him on the dance floor. Finn began singing as the glee club backed him up.

Finn: Oooh
Her eyes, her eyes make the stars look like they're not shining
Her hair, her hair falls perfectly without her trying
She's so beautiful and I tell her everyday
Yeah I know, I know when I compliment her she won't believe me
And it's so, it's so sad to think that she don't see what I see
But every time she asks me "Do I look okay?" I say
Finn (New Directions): When I see your face (When I see your face)
There's not a thing that I would change
'Cause you're amazing (You're amazing)
Just the way you are
And when you smile (When you smile )
The whole world stops and stares for a while
'Cause girl you're amazing (You're amazing)
Just the way you are (Ahhh-ah-ah-ah)
The way you are... (Ah-ah-ah)
The way you are... (Ah-ah-ah)
Girl you're amazing (You're amazing)
Just the way you are (Ahhh-ah-ah-ah)
When I see your face (Ah-ah-ah)
There's not a thing that I would change (Ah-ah-ah)
'Cause you're amazing (Finn: You're amazing)
Just the way you are (Just the way you are)
And when you smile (Ah-ah-ah)
The whole world stops and stares for a while (Ah-ah-ah)
'Cause girl you're amazing (Finn: You're amazing)
Just the way you are (Just the way you are)
Yeaah

Finn traded off between dancing with his mom, with Rachel and with Kurt, and at this moment, he knew that this was meant to be.

"The wedding was great, but we have got to get ready for Sectionals next week," Mr. Schue said the Monday after the wedding as Kurt arrived at Glee. "Kurt, good, I want to talk to you about this amazing idea I had for a solo for you at Sectionals."

"Can I make an announcement first?" Kurt asked.

"Yeah," Mr. Schue said.

"First, I wanted to thank everyone for what you did at my dad's wedding, especially Finn," Kurt said as Rachel looked at Finn with pride. "It's nice to know that I have great friends here as well as a true brother. Which is why it's so hard for me to leave."

Leave? What was going on? "What do you mean, leave?" Quinn asked.

"I'm transferring to Dalton Academy, immediately," Kurt said. "My parents are using the money they saved up for their honeymoon to pay for the tuition."

"Kurt, you can't leave," Tina said.

Finn couldn't believe this. "What the hell, dude? How about you talk with me about this first?"

"I'm sorry, Finn, but there's nothing to talk about," Kurt said. "Karofsky's coming back tomorrow, so that means I won't be."

"We can protect you," Sam blurted out.

"Seriously, we can, like, form a perimeter around you like the Secret Service," Puck added.

"Yeah," Finn said.

"The only thing that can really protect me is what they have at Dalton: a zero tolerance, no bullying policy," Kurt said. "It's enforced."

"Um, does that mean you're gonna be competing against us at Sectionals?" Rachel asked.

Mercedes started to walk toward Kurt. "Kurt..."

Kurt looked ready to cry. "I'm sorry. I have to go."

Finn was feeling guilty again. Had his efforts, everyone's efforts, ultimately failed?
