Mac had returned to the world of living before Ned and Harold came back. He had awakened to familiar feeling of dizziness and pounding in his skull, only this time it had gotten worse. His stomach growled at him and throat literally pleaded for a sip of water. The agent remembered he hadn't eaten anything before he got kidnapped.
Mac had just got his bearings back when he suddenly heard the door click open. Not being able to do anything else Mac decided to act unconscious. This way he could hear their conversation and find out why did they kidnap him. When Ned entered followed by Harold, the boy tried his best to keep his breathing even and held himself from flinching when Ned took hold of his chin "Hmm.. Still out. Good"
Mac listened to their conversation in which Ned told Harold that he was going to have lunch with Jack and find out if they were looking for him. Ned asked him keep an close eye on Mac and if needed use the drug on him again. It was getting difficult for Mac to keep his act up and just when he thought of giving up, his abductors finally departed.
Mac heard the door shut close and he slowly cracked his eyes open. He knew one thing for sure that Ned was a dangerous man and he was not the sole reason behind his kidnapping. Someone else was the mastermind who is controlling Ned and his actions.
Mac thought Jack surely must have noticed his disappearance. His friend would have thrown a tantrum by now. Jack will soon start searching for him but who will tell him that his best friend was the culprit. How will Jack know Ned was backstabbing him.
Mac had to get out of here to warn Jack about his friend. For that he needed to get out of these ropes. He knew they were too tight but he had to try so Mac began twisting and turning the ropes. The more he tried to loosen them the more they dug into his skin and he could feel blood trickling down his wrists. The task was daunting but he was not ready to give up. The boy kept trying.
Mac was getting tired by the second and thought ropes wouldn't give away. He was about to give up when he finally felt the ropes loosening. The boy knew he was rewarded for his hard work when the ropes finally fell on the floor. He sighed in relief "Thank God"
Mac slowly brought his hands forward and rolled his shoulders to get the blood circulation back in his almost numb arms. He stood up and was hit by a wave of dizziness and his legs buckled too. Mac sat back down and clutched his head in both hands to stop the spinning. From the corner of his eyes he saw how badly his wrists were bleeding but he choose to ignore
After Mac felt a little better he looked around to see how was he going to escape. There was nothing but the door and to get past that he had to face Harold. His eyes fell on the cot and Mac ran towards it. He broke a small wooden piece that he could use against Harold. He mentally prepared himself and took a deep breath "I'm ready"
PHOENIX FOUNDATION
"What do you mean by where's Mac? Boze he lives with you!" Jack accused the young man infront of him. Bozer still had a confused look "Jack what are you saying? I didn't see Mac coming in last night neither leave this morning"
"What?" Jack again dialled Mac's number only to get same reply. Cage and Riley got up from their places "So one has saw Mac after he left Phoenix?"
"Basically...yeah" said Jack
"Did he tell you where he was going?" Cage questioned but Jack shook his head "He told me he was heading straight home"
"I'll go call Matty" Bozer ran out of the room. Riley sat back down and took her laptop "I'll try tracing his cell. Don't worry Jack. We'll find him"
All could Jack do was nod but deep down in his heart he knew Mac was in serious trouble
BACK TO MAC
The door clicked open and Mac's heart started racing. He tightened his grip on the wooden stick and got ready to strike. Harold came in and was met with a sudden attack from Mac who smacked the stick on his head. To his utter surprise Harold didn't even flinch at the drop. Mac then lashed out his leg and kicked hard on his kneecap
Harold's leg gave out and he was on the floor on his knees grunting in pain. But before Mac could make his next move Harold punched him in his stomach and he doubled over gasping for air. Harold didn't waste any time further and gave another fist to Mac's midsection and the young agent heard a crack.
Mac was sweating now, his front burning with pain. He raised his hand to fight Harold but the muscle guy caught his fist and twisted behind his back stretching his hand beyond Mac's capacity. The boy cried out in pain and it sounded music to Harold's ears "That's all you got kid?"
Mac gathered some strength and butted Harold with his head and the man loosened his grip. Mac pushed the man and ran outside to his freedom. Clutching his stomach Mac stumbled a couple of steps. The room in which he was held was at the end of the corridor so he had to cross a good amount of distance before coming to a set of stairs leading down towards the main door.
Harold got up from the floor with anger boiling in his veins. He ran out of the room to catch his prey
The drugs, the fatigue and the latest punches he received was making very difficult for Mac to descend down the stairs but he held the railing and finally was able to make it all the way down. Mac had reached the front door, his hands going for the door knob when he heard a voice "Hey kid!"
Mac cursed. He was about to face the big guy again when a suden sharp bone cracking sound reached his own ears and then came a hot searing pain in his leg that he had never experienced in his life. He let out a gut wrenching scream that shook the walls of abandoned building. Mac instantly fell on the floor and clutched his now broken ankle. He looked up to see Harold holding a baseball bat with a cunning smile on his face
"Wrong move kid...wrong move"
