Queen Maria, in the present day, closed the book and she had tears forming in her eyes as she remembered her old friend, lover and second husband, knowing that the pain of Banderas's death was still refusing to go away and she was finding it very difficult to deal with it so far as the death, clearly, still haunted her to this day.
Earlier in the day, she had written an apology to Jane for the affair and she, even, apologised to Jane in person which resulted in Maria crying as she returned the hug that Jane had given her as the former accepted the apology as she knew that Maria still found the experience to be rather haunting as well as scary for her.
Later that day, Maria was walking through the forest when she came upon seeing her son, Alex, in the forest and he was looking at a certain spot that Maria quickly recognized as where she and Banderas had their many love-making sessions with the memory making her smile as she walked over to Alex.
"Hello son, I hope that you're ok" said Maria as she stood next to her son. "Look, Alex, I am sorry for not telling you this, sooner".
"I understand, but, damage has been done" said Alex as he looked at his mother. "I don't think that dad will forgive you, for this".
"I know, I will have to earn his trust back" said Maria as she sighed before carrying on. "Is Liz here, I need to tell her".
"Already, here, mother, Alex told me" said Liz as she stood next to Maria. "So, you had an affair behind dad's back?, why?".
"I loved him, that's why, Liz, love is the reason" said Maria as she sighed again. "Both me and Banderas knew the risks".
"Which includes, me and Alex have half-siblings" said Liz as she smiles. "That's the bright sight of things".
"Yeah, I guess that it is, Liz, the bright side" said Maria as she faced Alex. "I guess that Nightfly is taking the news, well".
"Yep, he's just shocked, he's not angry at you" said Alex as he faced Maria. "He understands why you and his dad had an affair".
"At least, he's taking it well, that's good to hear" said Maria as she smiles. "Though, I hope that your father will recover from this".
Both Alex and Liz nodded in agreement to that statement as they knew that the revelation is taking it's toll on him and they knew that he is still very angry at Maria, though, they weren't sure about how angry he is as they have now hardly seen him because he has shut himself in his own bedroom.
Unknown to them, Albert is still not taking the affair revelation very well as he had been destroying stuff in his sight in his anger while venting out his frustration and his annoyance at the fact that the affair took place behind his back, though, he came very close to taking off his wedding ring.
He looked at the wedding ring and he knew that if he took it off, then, it would mean that the marriage between him and Maria will be over with the thought running through his head as he kept the idea in consideration just in case that he should end up divorcing his wife if he really has to if needed.
Tears streamed down Albert's face as he wondered if he should put his own children in a bad position, though, he knows that it will be up to them to decide who to defend and who to defeat if he ends up divorcing Maria with his decision likely to cause a rift between him and his family if he's not careful.
Alex, Maria and Liz have no idea about how much pain that Albert is in as they continued to have their conversation with each other, though, they knew that it was going to be tricky to talk with Albert, who now has a look of anger as he had made up his mind about the decision he had made: There is going to be a family rift.
