Hello guys! It's been quite sometime since I uploaded. Very sorry about it as I'm very busy with my works. Chapter 7 is going to be a long one and I need just more time to complete it. Chapter 7: Revelations Part 1

"Uhhh…"

Shido opens his eyes, his vision is blurry and slowly becomes clear to him again. He sees the greyish ceiling, and a pink hair girl in twin tail with black ribbon is at his side.

"Shido. Are you okay?"

"Where… Where am I?"

"You're in the hospital. You have been unconscious since yesterday afternoon."

He realizes his uniform has changed to a patient suit. He suddenly remembers what have happened.

"Kotori! Where's the rest of them? Where's Tohka and Mana?"

"They are fine. But… Tohka and Mana…"

Shido's pupils shrink as he remembers what Arashi did to both of them. He anxiously asks Kotori.

"How are they!? Where are they!?"

"They are still alive, but they are still in coma..."

Kotori tells him with a serious look on her face. She isn't joking and Shido knows it.

"What?"

As if his heart has sank to the bottom, he musters up his strength, gets out of his bed and rushes out of his ward.

"Hey!"

Shido runs through the hallways, looking for their wards. He sees the wards of Yoshino, Yamai twins and Miku, he ignores them as they are not what he is looking for. He dashes through nurses and doctors, his mind is fixed to find Tohka and Mana.

Finally, he found the ward of Tohka and Mana. The two girls are unconscious as their eyes are shut with them in deep coma. Shido kneels down in despair as he wished it to be a nightmare.

"Why?..."

Kotori walks into the ward, she consoles Shido with her hand on his shoulder.

"Don't be worried, they'll be awaken… soon…"

Shido knows that Kotori is hiding something from him. He wants to know exactly what have happened to Tohka and Mana.

"Please… Tell me what the hell had happened?"

"...Their souls have been taken away by Nanaya Arashi, Tohka's spirit waves are undetectable."

"Nanaya Arashi… Why?... Why must you do this?... I… hate you..."

Shido's heart has fallen into deep despair as he laments his hatred. Kyouhei who has also admitted to the same hospital appears out of nowhere and brings Shido out of the ward. Despite being an idiot, he is rather unusual today as the spirits are harmed, he looks even more serious now.

"Have faith, Shido… They will be awaken." Kyouhei consolidates Shido.

"Faith… I already pushed it when I started to seal Yuki. When Yuki was killed, I hoped to convince Arashi, because I had faith that my reasons will reach his shattered heart as his only friend. But he has destroyed it for hurting everyone…"

Shido said it angrily, tears flow out of his eyes as he can't prevent Arashi from hurting the spirits. The spirits all gathers at outside of the ward. They see the deeply saddened Shido, even without being told, they know what had happened to Tohka. They remain silent as they know it is not the time to talk and they should leave Shido alone.

With a gesture from Kotori, Reine ushers the spirits back to their wards.

"Girls, you are still weak, let's get some rest back there, okay?"

The spirits keep quiet and return to the ward with Reine. When they are away from Shido, Kaguya asks Reine

"Reine-san, where's Arashi?"

"He has went missing since yesterday afternoon."

"..."

Kaguya remains silent as she doesn't want to pry even more on the person who had tried to kill her. When she lies down on her bed, she couldn't help herself to think about the insane Arashi. His maniacally laughter, his menacing blood red eyes and his aura leaves a mark within her.

"Arashi... Is that the real you?"

She remembers what he had said to her.

"I want to protect all of you before losing my own soul..."

She instantly figures out that Arashi was trying to protect them in the first place. But she doesn't know how he has such a drastic transformation.

Unknown Island

"Nanaya... Why? Release us!"

"What? Who's that?"

"Nanaya... We will never forgive you..."

"Yatogami-san? Azrael saved you?"

"DIE... NANAYA! DIE!"

It turns out to be a nightmare.

"Huh…"

Nanaya Arashi wakes up at a partially lit room. He is sitting on a chair, and he tries to move but with no avail. He look at his limbs, they are binded by a straightjacket. He tries to move his fingers, but to his surprise, his fingers are binded as well.

"Greetings, Assailant. Or Ripper, whichever you prefer."

In front of him is a man in his 50s, he is on a wheelchair. Behind him, there are man in back suits. Agitated, he shouts back.

"WHO ARE YOU? WHERE AM I?"

"You don't have to be hostile, Nanaya Arashi."

Arashi becomes more tensed as the old man called him his true name. With his skills in resisting interrogation kicks in, he denies his identity.

"What? I'm not Nanaya Arashi! I am Aokaze Arashi. JUST WHO ARE YOU?"

The man ignores his denial, and continues to talk to the bounded Nanaya.

"You are a Spirit."

The old man's claim on him is disturbing to him as it seems that the old man is aware who he is.

"What are you talking about? I'm a human!" he continues to deny.

"A human does not come back to life from death and survives from such a fatal fall from a hill."

He remembers what happened before he ends up here.

"Broken back and fractured arms. All healed instantaneously when night falls. You're certainly not a human. Be it how hard that a Nanaya trains to resist interrogation, it won't work against someone who is trying to help you."

"...!"

Arashi becomes more alert as his sapphire blue eyes glow even brighter with him seeing the old man's lines.

"I am Elliott Baldwin Woodman. Founder of Ratatoskr."

"Ratatoskr…"

Images of Shido and the spirits flashes in his mind. He eases his mind a little bit as he is aware who they are.

"I still can't believe on their downfall. All is lost 8 years ago for you guys."

"..."

"Ease your mind, Arashi. Your father, has entrusted both you and your sister to me."

He remembers what his father told him when his memories are sealed. To look for someone who is called Mr Woodman.

"What? You're that Mr Woodman?"

"Yes. I am."

"It can't be…"

Both surprised and shocked, he never imagined his father would called him to bring Yuki to see the man who had sheltered spirits. It feels as if they are all coincident.

"Listen, you should know what both Yuki and you are. You also had a cousin who you view as your own brother. I have promised Tsukuyo to shelter you three if anything happens to them. Yuki and that boy has already died, you are the only one left. You know what is your clan's duty. Ratatoskr will need you, a Nanaya, DEM will need to fear Nanaya once more. I promised that you will be protected."

Everything is familiar to the young man, it was a duty for those who bears the name. But to him, he was nothing more than a tool for everyone. He was forced to slaughter, he was forced to do all the terrible things.

"Kill or be killed, Arashi. Is either you kill, or you and your family get killed... Or, we'll get Yuki instead. Imagine what she will become, you certainly do not want that right?"

He remembers what they said to him to force both him and his cousin into the bloody path. He couldn't help but to think on how Woodman is going to manipulate him.

"You mean to kill, don't you?..."

"When you took the oath, you mean to kill to protect the spirits and the weak isn't it?"

Arashi angrily answers back as he is tired of everything. He was never viewed as something else other than a tool.

"I took the oath because they forced me to... I wanted to protect Yuki... and my parents... I am nothing but a child soldier of the clan! Protect is just an excuse for them to use our power to fulfill their lust of power!"

Woodman realizes his mistakes as Arashi is getting even more hostile.

"Relax... I don't want to you to kill. I want to protect spirits, be it Yuki or you, and many others."

Knowing what he is, Arashi couldn't help but to think that Woodman is naive.

"Protect me? Don't be a fool, you don't know what you are up against. I'm beyond hope for any salvation..."

"I don't know how... Especially after what had happened to you 3 years ago. Your powers, your angel and your devil, this is the fusion of Tsukuyo's spirit mana and Aokaze's Eyes of Death."

Arashi opens his eyes wide open. He is shocked that Woodman is aware of what both he and Yuki truly are.

"You father said that you are a kind child, one of the most talented and promising child. But they have turned you into a monster which your enemies wanted. You are the bane of all existence, the fallen spirit."

Arashi is shocked to hear that the head of Ratatoskr's knowledge on Nanaya. The words are like hammer, breaking the barriers that he had erected within his mind. All of his painful memories that are etched into his brain starts to flow again.

"Because of what we are… To my uncles, we were nothing but weapons at disposal. Those who only truly cared for us were our parents and him and yet I can't protect him… not even from the corruption."

Woodman understands the young man's sorrow, he tries to help but he doesn't know how to. Only Arashi himself knows how to deal with his own self.

"Listen, they may be gone, but there are still people care for you. Those people who were your friend after the sealing, after you have revived, Itsuka Shido and the spirits, they cared for you."

Woodman's words are deafened by Arashi's ears as he knows what Woodman is trying to do.

"You're the one who is pulling the strings! Itsuka will not be sealing the spirits without Ratatoskr, not to mention so many spirits at once! You're making him into a weapon which even DEM is trying to get!"

Woodman is surprised at Arashi's statement, he did not expect the young Nanaya to see through his grand plan. He is speechless.

"Am I right? When he serves no purpose, or at the brink of capture, you'll make him disappear from the world..."

Woodman knows this is far a stray from what he intends to do, he immediately tells the truth.

"This is why you come to the picture! You must live! We need you to protect Itsuka."

The word "protect" agitates Arashi again, but before he can argue, Woodman speaks.

"I don't want you to kill, I want you to ensure Itsuka's safety when he is doing all the task."

"..."

Images of Shido and the spirits flash in his mind again, he wished to protect them in his own way, but Lord of Wrath already unleashed his fury onto the group.

"They already died... If only Yuki killed me in the first place..."

Tears flow out of his eyes as he feels very guilty of hurting them, not to mention there is someone he loves is also his victim.

"I can only free their souls after I die, I will only do that when I deal with the Burning Hell. They are coming next week."

Woodman recalls Arashi's father told him about the forces of hell, which in his horror, the harbinger of the world is sitting right in front of him.

"Burning Hell!? That's right, three years had passed after you are revived. You're sending the world straight right into destruction!"

"Then what? Who's going to stop them? Only I can..." Arashi countered.

"Arashi..."

"The spirits will not be a match against the fallen. If their souls are being captured, along with DEM's blind works, our world will be destroyed! With my eyes, I can kill everything, even myself!"

Woodman is puzzled by the young man's actions as his words contradicts his actions.

"What about your actions back then? They are of you or the devil?"

"They are of mine. the only way to protect them is to isolate them from me… I am already an enemy of spirits, I want to be their ally while I can"

"What if you can tell them about themselves? Their existence, they always wanted to know about it. I believed you should tell them right?"

"Hmph… you gotta be joking… I can't let them know about it…"

Seeing Arashi is being secretive about the existence of spirits, which he wants to know. He decides to play out his first trump card, Arashi's love for Kaguya

"Even after you hurt someone you loved?"

"What?"

"We are aware that you have fallen in love with one of Berserk. Or Yamai Kaguya…"

"..."

"What if we bring her to talk to you."

"Don't be ridiculous. They all… have died… I have already lost everything, I have nothing to lose now except for my own existence."

"No… you have more than that. What if I tell you they lived?"

"WHAT?"

Arashi's mind is brightened up as he is happy to learn that they are alive. They are his only redemption left, despite knowing that they may not forgive him, he wants to tie up the loose ends.

"TELL ME! WHERE ARE THEY?"

"You're not telling me anything about their existence. Until then, you'll stay here. Karen, you can bring me back."

"...!"

Arashi's emotional level turns extremely volatile as he is enraged by Woodman. He creates a shadow man armed with a blade.

"WATCH OUT! HE'S USING HIS POWERS! SHOOT HIM WITH THE TASER"

At his command, the shadow cuts all the binds, freeing his fingers and limbs. He sprints and dives into their blind spot, before the guards can react, Arashi is already at their sides.

"Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!"

"ARGH!"

Using his shoulders as a pivot, the young Nanaya disarms the guards effortlessly as he dislocates their arms and legs with his knowledge of human anatomy. The guards are out as the pain is unbearable.

With more guards storm the place, he grabs Woodman with his biceps and takes him hostage with a shadow blade at his hand.

"GET BACK BEFORE I KILL HIM!" Arashi threatens everyone with a sharp voice.

"MR WOODMAN!"

A short haired blonde girl rushes into the room, she has a pair of beautiful purple eyes with a spectacle. She is Karen Nora Marthers. Ellen Mira Marther's younger sister.

"Let him go, we can talk it out nicely."

Tension rises as the Nanaya takes Woodman as human shield at knife point.

"Do as he say, he won't kill me."

To his surprise, Woodman did not show even a slight of fear. This puzzles him greatly as many would be petrified.

"What in the?..."

"If you do, you can't find out their condition, can you?" Woodman said calmly

"..."

"Admit it, you wish to protect them, while taking all their hatred by yourself, you are just like your father after all."

Arashi ignores Woodman and starts to demand his own possession.

"Where's my knife?"

"What?"

"WHERE'S THE KNIFE?" Arashi shouts louder as he is very tensed.

"Relax… It is at the northern beach of the island. I left the address of the hospital in a new set of clothes for you with the knife. The mainland is further up north."

Arashi gots the answer he wants, he knows it is time to move. He moves backwards with Mr Woodman at knife point. He sharpens his senses as he reaches the wall behind.

Knowing his words has reached Arashi's heart. He decides to let out the second trump card.

"Oh, and you are not the only Nanaya survivor. The daylight still exists, and he is the one."

Mr Woodman's word shocks Arashi as he recounts on them being murdered.

"What? I killed them before my own eyes…"

"You'll bring danger to them if you stay close to them."

"..."

Arashi remains silent and blasts multiple shadows in front of the guards and slices the wall open. A pair of dark wings manifest and he takes off. Leaving the old man on the floor.

"Mr Woodman! Are you alright?"

Karen and the guards rushes to Woodman's aid. Woodman is alright and he immediately tells them what to do.

"I'm okay. Keep track of his position. He'll need help sooner or later."

Focus on Arashi

"They are my only redemption, before I die."

In just a short time, he reaches the beach area at north. He saw a duffle bag on the beach. He lands on the beach and gets to it. He opens up the bag and changes a new set of clothes while discarding the straightjacket. His ring necklace, switchblade and wallet are all in there. Mr Woodman also left him a compass. To his surprise, a box is in there with a note sticking on it.

The note:

I know I can't stop you, the box contains what you will need. Don't ask where I got them. You should go and visit them, I believe you have something to return. I hope you won't lose sight of the light. Call the number at the back if you need us.

Elliott Baldwin Woodman

He opens the box, inside it contains 11 pieces of strange glowing stone etched with marks that are indecipherable. He remembers it being a relic of his family, he thought that they are long lost.

"The death sigils! My father had them all the time?"

He distorts his shadow and place the box to wrap it into his shadow. He lets out his wings again and soars up the sky. With a compass in his hand, he navigates in the sky, reaching for the mainland. He starts to hear the voice again, the voice from the Lord of Wrath, Amon.

"What can you do now? Nanaya Arashi. I already harmed those who are close to you, they will never forgive of what you have done. The world is doomed, not even death can save you!"

Enraged, Arashi channels more mana into his mind, suppressing the dark voice within.

"Shut up! The one who hurt them is you. Let them hate me and I don't care, so long they are safe and nothing matters to me anymore… My existence, my soul, like many before me I will forsake them just to destroy you!"

Back at the hospital

Hours have passed, it is already late afternoon. Shido still sits beside Tohka and Mana, hoping for a miracle that they will be awaken soon.

"Shido, it is time for the meeting." Kotori said.

"..."

Shido silently follows Kotori to the rooftop. There, Kyouhei and Reine are waiting for them.

"Well, everyone's here. Let's proceed the meeting."

"Yes commander. Now here's the status report. Shido, just to let you know, AST is officially destroyed, only few survived from Assailant. Osaka is also leveled to a flat plain of ruins." Kyouhei reported

Shido is worried as he remembers Arashi was going to kill Origami back there. Though he let her go, the spacequake that he triggered has no doubt destroyed the whole city.

"What about the city? Can it be rebuilt?"

"Strangely, just like their last clash at Tenguu City, the quake that was triggered there is just like the one before. The city remains as it is even with using realizers for rebuilding, even the metals can't join up with welding." Kotori answered Shido's question.

"His purpose is only revenge. That was only the first part, when he encountered all of you. His actions are even weirder, a complete opposite before when he was killing the wizards. In fact, he may have hurt all of you, but from what we analysed, he seems to be trying to protect all of you." Reine explains.

Suddenly, someone barges into the meeting.

"Shido!"

Shido look at the direction of the sound. It comes from a white haired girl, her face is emotionless with a pair of blue eyes.

"Tobiichi!"

"Shido... Yoga-ta... Nanaya Arashi did not kill you."

Origami rushes up and hugs Shido tightly. Her appearance has shocked them.

"How did you?" Kotori exclaimed in disbelief.

"Efreet..."

Origami glares at Kotori as she always has thought that Kotori is the one who killed her parents. Despite being proved that it isn't Kotori, she is still hostile towards her.

"Hey, stop it. We have to focus on sealing him. Does AST have any plans after that massacre?"

Origami remains silent for a while as she can't help but to think about her fallen comrades.

"...AST is disbanded. Nanaya Arashi killed almost every wizard in the country..."

"What?..." Shido is in shock as he hears it.

"Shido, no matter what you do, do not cross his path again. Nanaya may appear to side with Spirits, but they do not care. Whoever is in their way, they'll kill."

"But..."

Shido wants to save Arashi from his path of vengeance and rage because it was Yuki's death wish. He is not so sure now as he don't want anyone to be hurt.

"Yuki wants me to save him... Just what she wants me to save him from? Vengeance?"

Suddenly, a girl's voice can be heard.

"Ara Ara… You guys have not figured out just what you guys are up against?"

The speech pattern is familiar to them, they look at the direction where the sound comes from. It is from a girl in black twin tails, she has a pair of heterochromic eyes, her right one is in crimson red while her left one is in yellow. Different from her usual look, the clock of her left eye is no where to be seen.

"Ku… Kurumi?"

"Itsuka Shido and Kotori. Oh, and Tobiichi Origami. Good that Nanaya never kill you."

The presence of Kurumi makes everyone tense as she is one of the most dangerous spirit to date.

"Kurumi! Are you okay? You have been in coma for nearly two days." Kotori asks in concern.

"What? She has been hospitalized for days?" Shido asks in surprise as he was not told about it.

"Ah, thanks for your concern. You don't have to fear me now… After all, Zafkiel has been killed. I'm now a powerless human."

Her statement not only relief the tension a bit, but also surprises the people at the scene.

"Killed? By Nanaya Arashi isn't it?" Kotori asks.

"Ara… Ara… Yes, the enforcer and guardian of spirits, the last Nanaya. So, it is true, you can only run, but you can't hide from a Nanaya, even my plans, seems to be revealed to them before I even appear to this world."

Shido is still stunned as no one can kill an angel at all, not even Ellen can kill one. She can only kill spirits, but not their angels.

"This is ridiculous! YOU CAN'T KILL AN ANGEL, CAN YOU?"

Kurumi's answer shocks everyone, to learn that how close they were to death itself.

"To Nanaya, be it gods, angels or devils, the rules does not apply to them. They are the death itself, they are the living god of death."

"What?"

"Nanaya has eyes that allow them to kill everything, they are given by Angel of Death, Azrael. In other words, Nanaya are humans with spirit powers. And that Nanaya who's trying to kill me, is not just a spirit, but a fallen spirit."

The word 'fallen' confuses them even more, true, Arashi being a male spirit is already weird, being a fallen spirit is even weirder.

"A fallen spirit?" Origami asks in confusion.

"A fallen spirit's objective is to kill us, the spirits. They are the direct opposite of us. While we are able to call upon our angels, fallen spirits can call upon the devils."

Shido now is even more confused, if Arashi is his enemy, why was he running away? Origami is also confused as she have heard of tales that

"Just who is he now? An enemy or a friend? I won't forgive him… for hurting Tohka…"

Kurumi doesn't know it either, she gives the remaining info about her assailant.

"Just a little advice, he has two sources of mana. Each trying to consume one another, whatever he had done, it may not be of his action."

"What do you mean?"

"That Nanaya was probably being controlled."

"...!"

Shido is shocked as things just fall in place, each puzzle explains Arashi's actions back there.

"When he killed Zafkiel, he lost part of his own soul. Also, unlike the normal Nanaya I knew of, he not only controls death, but also darkness itself."

"Controls death?" Reine asks.

"It means that things can't regenerate on its own, and what's broken cannot be repaired. From what I know, they have the control of it, they can undo the death if a living being is not dead."

"Which explains why Shido can heal back there." Kotori exclaimed.

"And, was he trying to isolate us? By diverting their attention to me... Is he aware of that?"

Kurumi gives an annoyed face and answered.

"Come on, you must be kidding me, he is a Nanaya clansman, if he knows everything about us, he must had known about what lies in him."

"This means, we have to find Arashi, be it sealing him or not, his knowledge of Spirits is very important." Kotori says

Saying that sends Origami and Kurumi into a state of agitation.

"NO! HE IS A NANAYA! HE'LL KILL SHIDO!" Origami defends Shido

"Don't! We have no idea whether that Nanaya is an enemy or friend. What happen if he kills Shido?" Kurumi added.

Shido remains silent throughout the conversation.

"..."

Kotori speaks again, this time regarding Shido.

"Because of the nature of this mission, I need Shido's consent."

"..."

Shido remains silent as he ponders, it is true that Arashi may take his life, but he promised Yuki to save Arashi. Which the latter do not know about.

"...Find Nanaya Arashi!"

Origami and Kurumi are in disbelief as Shido wants to seal Arashi again.

"YOU MUST BE INSANE!" the two exclaimed.

"I promised his sister to save him. I'll make him realize soon enough!"

The two of them are rendered speechless as they can only think of how crazy it is going to be.

"Kotori..."

Kotori looks at Shido as he is about to say something.

"Is Yuki's body still preserved on the ship?"

"Yes. It is..."

"She will be our bargain chip."

"What!?"

Kotori, Kyouhei and Reine are in disbelief as using such method is never Shido's way.

"I'm bringing him down... the next time we meet!"

Seeing Shido has get his resolve back, all of them smile.

"Alright, so there is a plan now I suppose, commander?" Kyouhei asks.

"We still don't know what he'll react. This meeting needs to go on." Kotori reply.

Origami and Kurumi knows that it is time for them to leave the meeting place, they leave the rooftop with Kurumi back at her ward and Origami goes back to her home. The meeting goes on and on for hours, and finally, they formulated a plan.

"Alright, it is set. But still, are you really sure that is going to work?" Kyouhei asks in doubts

"He just need some tweaks to wake up. I may be kind, but not for too long."

"Whatever we have discussed here, we must not let any of them know. Especially Kaguya, she has the most feeling for him, letting her know will only render her emotion state unstable." Reine added.

"Also, we have to protect her. She will be the most vulnerable if Arashi decides to kill all of us. He can just manipulate her feelings and kill her." Kotori says

"Alright."

But little do they know, Kaguya has heard all it. She was behind the door towards the rooftop. She can't picture Arashi would lay his blade on her.

"What!?"

They have noticed her, different from her cheerful look, sadness is now written across her face.

"Kaguya..." Shido muttered

"No... This... ISN'T TRUE..."

Tears start to roll off from her eyes, Kaguya runs back towards her ward.

"Oh no!"

"Hurry, calm her down before her powers return!" Kotori commanded.

Shido chases her, trying to calm her down.

"Kaguya! Wait up!"

Kaguya covers her face crying as she doesn't wish that Arashi would be their enemy. After a short while, Shido catches up.

"Shido... This is not true, right?"

"..."

Shido remains silent, he doesn't wish it either.

"Please, save him. You saved both Yuzuru and I, you will save him right?"

Kaguya hugs Shido tightly as she cries, he pats her head to assure her.

"Yeah, I will. I promise you, I will bring back the Arashi we know of."

Kaguya stops crying with Shido's promise.

"Thank you..."

"It's all right now..." Shido tells her.

He escorts her back to her ward. He can tell that she is deeply saddened.

"You have a lot to answer for, Nanaya Arashi." he thought.

After Kaguya enters her ward, Shido decides to visit the others. The spirits are delighted for his visit, but Shido is being asked not to seal him again. However, Shido's answer is firm.

"He has to answer for what he has done. And I will make him to talk on what is he hiding."

Midnight

Arashi with his dark wings appears in the sky, he is invisible as his attire has blended in with the night sky. As he approaches the ground, he turns transparent and touch down gracefully. He makes sure that there are no one in the vicinity before he turns visible again. With winds getting stronger and the sight of lightning causes him to pick up his pace as he dons his hood.

"The storm is brewing again..." he muttered.

Using the shadows at his advantage, he reaches the hospital without being seen. Realizing that the hospital is already closed for visiting hours. He finds the staff's entrance and infiltrates into the hospital. As he steps into the hospital, his eyes glow in bright blue. At the same time, he starts to attune his senses to sense Spirit mana. To Arashi, if they are in hospital, they're most likely to be in the same cluster of wards. Finding that cluster will lead him right to his objective.

It doesn't take a genius to find him suspicious. He knows he can't tap into his mana anymore as he needs to save it for later. He sharpens his sense of awareness to avoid being seen. Slowly, he sense the spirits, and he moves from corridor to corridor and instinctively look for cover as hospital's staffs are at his way. Finally, he reaches a long corridor leading towards the spirits' ward. To his surprise, he can sense the mana of Camael, which he have not met.

"Avatar of Camael is here as well? Interesting..."

Sensing that no one else is around, he starts to walk down the long corridor. Little does he know, his movement is being watched by a pin hole camera.

Surveillance Room

Kotori, Reine and Kannazuki are looking at the screen as Arashi enters the corridor.

"Commander, a suspicious looking man is heading towards the wards. And he is... emitting a faint spirit waves." Reine reported.

"Can you see his face?" Kotori asks.

"No, commander, he is wearing a hood." Kannazuki reply.

"For him to appear at such timing..." She mumbled.

Kotori rushes towards Shido who is sleeping at the surveillance room as well.

"SHIDO, WAKE UP!"

She calls and shaking Shido left and right until he wakes up from his sleep.

"Huh?"

"Arashi is here!"

Shido opens his eyes wide open as he never expect Arashi to appear at such timing.

"WHAT?"

"Here, put the ear piece on. Go to the staircase, do not let him see you. We'll tell you if he goes the other location."

Shido nodded as he puts on the ear piece. He moves swiftly towards the staircase, making his way down.

The rest of them keep looking the the screens. All of them paying attention on where will the man in black go.

Focus on Arashi

He moves carefully and sneaking to conceal the sounds of his foot steps. He take a quick glance into the ward, looking for his target. His presence alone has a freezing effect as if heat is being taken away from the area. The Spirits who are asleep, are slowly awaken by his presence. As he walks past the ward, the patient are immediate awaken. The first to be awaken is Yoshino.

"Huh!?"

She gets up from her bed as he walks pass, but Arashi is so fast at his pace that all she can see is a dark silhouette. In fear, she put on Yoshinon and start to talk through him

"Is that a bad guy out there?" Yoshinon asks.

There is no response, sending Yoshino back to her bed with the blanket completely cover her face in fear. Arashi is not finished with his "terrorism" as his next victim to be awaken is Miku. She is awakened by a strange feeling. The feel is so similar that it is the same of her facing Arashi her eyes wide open, she can feel that someone is closing in. She tries to sneak a peek at her ward door, but all she see is a dark silhouette walks pass. She is in fear to the point of speechless as she thinks that it was a ghost.

Arashi continues his way down the wards. The next is Yamai twins', he peeks into their ward. Kaguya and Yuzuru are soundly asleep, seemingly oblivious to his presence.

"Kaguya... I'm sorry for what I have done."

He muttered with his guilt ridden heart, he blames himself for hurting her as he can't protect them. Little does he know, Shido is sneaking a peek on him. Shido's adrenaline floods his body as he knows being seen by Arashi would mean mission failure. Though he can't see Arashi's face, the glowing blue eyes is a giveaway to his identity.

"Shido, as you can see, he is stopping in front of Kaguya and Yuzuru's ward. He is no doubt Arashi, the next is Tohka and Mana's. He'll enter either one of these, after that, commence your plan." Kotori commanded.

"Yeah... He hasn't seen me. His eyes, no doubt is him."

Little does Arashi know, the twins were awaken.

"Yuzuru, can you feel it."

Kaguya is whispering to Yuzuru, who is also awaken.

"Reply. Yuzuru can feel it. Someone is looking at us."

The two of them are aware of his presence.

"Request. Kaguya, lets check it out."

"Kukuku... All right."

The twins countdown in 3, 2 and 1 they get up from their bed, looking at the small window of their ward door. But Arashi's timing is just so spot on that the twins did not see anything at all as he left before they even got up.

"What?"

"Shocked. Impossible."

The twins exclaimed as they are sure that someone was there. But nothing is in their vision. Arashi then proceed to the next ward, it is the ward of Tohka and Mana. As soon as he sees them, he enters the ward with the door wide open. Shido rushes up to the ward, seemingly forgotten about his mission as he starts to channel his rage into his limbs. But when he tries to enter the ward, something is stopping him.

"Shido?" Kotori asks in doubt as she never expect him to stop.

When he is inside the ward, he seemingly starts to talk to himself.

"Azrael… I'm trusting you to help me hold off Amon as soon as it is complete."

He pulls out his own switchblade.

"SHIDO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" Kotori asks in worry that Arashi will kill all three of them.

Shido remains silent as he watches the death god wields his weapon.

"Nevermore!"

Nevermore manifests shrouding his avatar with a large shadow blade at his hand. The dark being's movements are in sync with Arashi's. Arashi then thrusts his blade into his stomach just like the fiend of shadow thrusting his sword into his shadowy skeletal body.

"Ugh..." Arashi yelped in pain as he tries to sustain the wound burning in black flames. Shortly, two glowing ghostly figures emerge from Nevermore. While his blade is still sticking onto his stomach. Arashi holds the souls and inserts them into Tohka and Mana respectively.

Shido, Kotori, Reine and Kannazuki are speechless as Arashi cuts himself open.

"I am sorry... This is the best I can do for all of you."

Arashi pulls out his blade, like Shido, his wound is set ablaze by a dark flame which heals him rapidly. Just as the 'ritual' ends, Shido rushes up to Arashi. Arashi who is trying to leave quietly, is immediately greeted by a punch from Shido, he is punched onto the floor. Shido waste no time and immediately drags Arashi to the rooftop. Seeing that, Kotori and the crew immediately rushes up. The spirits who had heard the scuffle also come out of their ward.

At the rooftop, Shido releases Arashi and continues to beat him.

"Why are you even here? We tried to help you, and yet you hurt Tohka!"

"..."

Arashi remains silent as he knows that he is angry with him. He doesn't retaliate at all, allowing Shido to vent his anger.

"Tell us, just how to save you?"

"I can't be saved... My only path is doom..."

The rest of them all gathers at the rooftop. The spirits are shocked to see Arashi as well. Among them, Kurumi is at there as well.

"Ara ara... Nanaya, you know everything about spirits. And you are telling us that you can't be saved?"

"I'm not lying, I'm aware of what I am. Listen, leave me alone. I let you live because the last order I heard was to neutralize you, not kill you."

Arashi replies coldly as he tries to protect them from himself. The spirits have their plans, as Arashi knows everything about them, Yoshino, Yamai twins and the crew of Ratatoskr, they all wanted to know how spirits came about.

"If you know everything about Spirits, then tell us, how and why they are here."

"Avatar of Camael... Does truth even matter to all of you? There is a good reason on why I'm bearing it, letting you guys know will only become a burden."

Suddenly, Origami appears, she is furious as the killer of AST is now apprehended. She wields a pistol at her right hand and a laser dagger at her left.

"DIE!"

A shot from the pistol is fired. Instinctively, Arashi starts to focus and slow things down in his vision while adrenaline floods him. He draws his blade and dodges the bullet, he sprints towards Origami and pierces the point on her pistol. Origami is in shock as not only Arashi disappear from her line of sight, her pistol is shattered to bits like glass. She tries to swing the dagger at him, but to her surprise, the dagger's blade is immediately split in half.

"What in the world?"

Before she know it, Arashi already stands back at his original position. With that, Kurumi starts to clap her hands.

"As expected of a Nanaya. Your eyes really serves you well, making you into a god of death." she complimented.

Origami is angry as she is stripped of her weapons.

"YOU COLDBLOODED MURDERER! YOU, LIKE ALL SPIRITS, HAVE NO REMORSE ON KILLING!"

Hearing that Arashi starts to speak again.

"You think I have no remorse? Think again... I am nothing but a tool for my clan and I'm still a tool of my enemies. You think I can sleep well after all that? You think I can't hear their voices? THEY ARE ALL CRYING THAT TO LET THEM GO!"

Arashi starts to sheath his weapon, he is just tired. He wants to run away from all the bloodshed, at the same time protects them.

"If you think that telling us the truth will make you feel better. Then go ahead." Reine suddenly spoke.

"..."

"Arashi! Tell us, how we came about?" Kaguya asks.

Arashi knows, if he dies, the one protecting them would be Ratatoskr. But he as a Nanaya doesn't trust them as he has been in solitary. As of now, he only wish that they would forgive him and understand his actions.

"All right... But, in exchange, tell me who caused Yatogami to invert."

Without hesitation, Shido answered.

"Deal!"

"Ok... Hear me out alright?"

Suddenly, his blue eyes glow even brighter. Origami who glares into his eyes are immediately knocked out cold as she starts to lose balance and collapses onto the floor. This shocked everyone as they never expect it.

"Wait... Why did you do that?" Shido asks in surprised

"She can't know what I am about to reveal."

They remains silent as it is too late, Origami is out cold already. Reine helps Origami up and let her rests against a wall. After that, Arashi speaks again.

"It all started 5 billion years ago..."

Okay, that's all for part 1. I'm very sorry for delaying the chapter, I have came up with many ideas but they just won't work.
