Hey everyone! Thanks so much for all your reviews on my last chapter. It means a lot to me. I'm sorry I took so long to update, I'm on vacation and don't have as much free time right now. This is the first part of the summer between Finchel's junior and senior year, and the next chapter will be a summer chapter as well! Hope you enjoy and review if you want me to keep going!
Chapter 46: Summer 2011 (Part 1)
"Are you excited to go on the family trip with us?" Finn asked Rachel.
"Very excited," Rachel said as they waited for the airplane. Kurt had invited Rachel to go along on the Hudson-Hummel family vacation to the beach this year, and Finn had invited Blaine. The four of them had a plan, however: at night they would switch bedrooms so the respective couples could be together.
"Do you think they know what we're up to?" Finn asked.
"Probably," Rachel admitted. "But if it bothered them that much, they would have said something."
"That is true," Rachel agreed.
"Finn, Rachel, the plane will be boarding soon," Carole said.
"Thanks again for letting me come," Rachel said.
"Oh, I'm glad you can come," Carole said. "I was really happy when Finn told me you two were back together."
"She never liked Quinn," Finn whispered to Rachel.
"What do you mean?" Rachel asked.
"When I got back with Quinn, she yelled at me," Finn told Rachel.
"I wanted to yell at you, too," Rachel admitted.
"I'm sorry babe," Finn told Rachel. "But we're back together now."
"We are, and that's all that matters," Rachel said.
The announcer at the airport announced that their flight to Florida was boarding. Finn took Rachel's bag as they began heading for the plane. "You're so chivalrous," Rachel told Finn.
"Always for you," Finn said back.

A few hours later, Finn, Rachel, Kurt, Blaine, Burt and Carole landed at the Orlando airport. They went straight from the airport to the beach condo they'd rented, which had a master bedroom on the main level with the living room and two other bedrooms. Burt and Carole announced that Kurt and Rachel would get the one with the double bed and Finn and Blaine would get the one with the twin beds. When Burt and Carole went to the store to pick up some food, the four teens were left at the house by themselves.
"So, which couple gets which bedroom after the parents are in bed?" Finn asked, breaking the silence that was on everyone's minds.
"Oh, Kurt and I get the one with the double bed at night," Blaine said. "Sorry, you two will have to push the twin beds together."
Rachel did a cute little pout, making Finn giggle.
"But she's small," Kurt said. "You two could easily squeeze into a twin bed together."
"Well, we did squeeze into my bed together," Finn said. He realized he spoke too quickly as Rachel elbowed him.
Kurt and Blaine looked surprised. "So you two have - " Kurt began.
"Not yet," Finn said. He hoped they would get to that point, but he knew that Rachel had a lot more risks with that, so he wanted to wait until she was ready.
"There's nothing wrong with that," Blaine said. "We aren't there yet either."
"I'm just glad all our parents trust us enough to let us go on vacation with each other," Rachel said.
"So am I," Finn said.
"And you guys seem happy to be back together," Blaine said.
"Oh, we couldn't be happier," Rachel said, cuddling up to Finn. Finn smiled and kissed Rachel's head.
"What do you guys think New Directions would think of me?" Blaine asked.
Kurt looked shocked. "Are you saying - "
"It is something I'm considering," Blaine continued. "Dalton's a great school, and I do like the Warblers, but I really want to go to Nationals, and I don't think that's going to happen there."
Kurt gave Blaine a big hug. "YES! YES! YES! Come to McKinley!"
"I think you'd fit in great in New Directions," Finn said. Blaine was really nice and he was a great singer.
"Yeah, we'd love to have you," Rachel added.

"Rachel, are you almost ready?" Finn called. It was the next morning, and Finn and Rachel were going to join Kurt and Blaine at the beach. However, Rachel was in the bathroom, and Finn was getting impatient.
Rachel stepped out of the bathroom, in a turquoise bikini with purple polka dots, a nervous look on her face. "Finn, do I look fat?"
Finn couldn't help but stare at Rachel's breasts and abs. "Rach, you look smoking."
"You really think so?" Rachel asked nervously.
"Of course I do," Finn said. "I wouldn't lie to the girl I love."
Rachel giggled and kissed Finn. "Thanks. Want to go to the beach now?"
"Of course," Finn said. He took Rachel's hand as they walked down the boardwalk, joining Kurt and Blaine at the beach. "There you guys are!" Kurt said.
"Yeah, here we are," Finn said. He looked out into the ocean. "The waves are pretty big today."
"They are," Rachel agreed.
Finn gave Rachel a signature half smile. "Want to go in?"
"Do you really have to ask?" Rachel asked. She took Finn's hand and ran into the waves. When they reached the water and a wave crashed at their feet, Finn saw Rachel shiver. "What's wrong?"
"It's cold," Rachel said. Finn smirked, picked Rachel up, and threw her in the water.
"FINNEGAN!" Rachel screamed. "How dare you!"
"Because I love you!" Finn teased.
"Oh yeah?" Rachel pushed Finn into the water. "NOW do you love me?"
Finn got up and smirked at Rachel. "We're even."
After jumping some more waves, Finn and Rachel retreated back to the sand, where they lay side by side. "This place is so beautiful," Rachel sighed.
"YOU are so beautiful," Finn said.
"I love you," Rachel whispered.
"I love you, too," Finn said. "Whenever I'm with you, I feel like I can totally be myself and I never have to worry."
"Same for when I'm with you," Rachel said. "Everything just feels so right when we're together. I feel like no matter what I say or do, you'll still love me."
"I'll never break up with you," Finn said. Remembering what happened before, he added, "And I mean it this time."
"I'll never break up with you, either," Rachel said.

The beach where the Hudson-Hummel family had gone on vacation was about half an hour from Disney World, so one day, the four teens decided to go together. Kurt and Blaine had both been before and said that it was fun, and Rachel just hoped that the rides wouldn't be too scary.
When they arrived, Finn almost immediately pointed at a big ride. "We should ride that!"
"That looks scary," Rachel said.
"Rachel, that looks fun," Kurt said.
"I don't want to go on it," Rachel said.
"Awww, Rachel, don't be a party pooper," Finn teased.
Rachel sighed. "Fine, I'll go on it with you guys."
Finn, Kurt and Blaine cheered as the four of them got in line for the ride Finn had liked the looks of. The wait was long, and that didn't bother Rachel. The ride looked scary to her, and she was fine to have to wait. Eventually though, they reached the front of the line, and Finn and Rachel took the two-person seat behind Kurt and Blaine's.
As the ride took off, Finn, Kurt and Blaine screamed in excitement. The ride took off at a speed unlike anything Rachel had ever riden before. She was already feeling dizzy and sick to her stomach, but Finn, Kurt and Blaine seemed to love it. Rachel grabbed Finn's arm tightly as the ride took a sharp turn. As it turned upside down, she buried her face in his stomach.
"Are you okay?" Finn asked.
"I'm scared," Rachel whispered.
"How can you be scared?" Finn asked. "This is great!"
Rachel held on to Finn for the rest of the ride and was relieved when it came to a stop. "The next time the three of you want to go on a big, scary ride, you can go without me," Rachel said.
"But Rachel!" Kurt protested.
"She was pretty scared," Finn said. "She was holding on to me pretty tight."
Rachel scanned the park, trying to find a not so scary activity for them to do next. Luckily, Finn spoke first.
"I think I want to play that game," Finn said, pointing at one of the games where you could win stuffed animals.
"Go ahead," Blaine said. "We want to go on another ride."
"Okay, well we'll see you soon," Finn said. After Kurt and Blaine left, Finn got in line to play the game, which involved throwing a ball to knock over pins, like bowling. "Maybe you'd be good at this," Finn said to Rachel. "You did bowl a strike when we went bowling."
"That was a fun night," Rachel said. "We should go again sometime."
"I'd like that," Finn agreed. When they reached the front of the line, Finn took the ball and threw it toward the pins, knocking over all of them at once.
Remembering their bowling date, Rachel pulled Finn in for a big hug. "Which stuffed animal would you like?" the park employee asked Finn.
Finn turned to Rachel. "Which one would you like?"
"Me?" Rachel asked.
"Yes you!" Finn said, kissing Rachel. "Thought you might like a little something."
"You're so sweet," Rachel said. "I'd like that puppy." She pointed at a stuffed puppy.
The park employee handed the puppy to Rachel. "Thanks Finn," Rachel said.
"It's a prize for surviving the crazy ride," Finn laughed.
Rachel giggled and gave Finn a kiss. "Well, it's a nice prize."

The week flew by, and before Finn and Rachel knew it, it was their last night in Florida, so they decided to make it special. They decided to go for a walk along the beach, then go out to dinner at a beachside restaurant. The table Finn and Rachel had gotten at the restaurant was located close enough so they could see the waves come crashing down. "I'm so glad you could come with me," Finn told Rachel.
"I'm glad I could come," Rachel said.
"It's just nice to have some time to relax and have fun, before everything starts up this fall," Finn told Rachel.
"What do you mean?" Rachel asked, though she had a feeling she knew what Finn meant.
"We need to start getting ready for the future," Finn said. "College visits, SATs... it's scary."
"I know it is," Rachel said. "I'm scared too."
"Do you think anywhere will take me?" Finn asked.
"Finn, your grades have improved, you're the lead of a show choir that went to Nationals, and you led the football team to the conference championship," Rachel said. "Any school that didn't take you would be crazy."
"I don't think you have anything to worry about," Finn told Rachel.
"I am worried," Rachel admitted. "We didn't even make the top ten at Nationals."
"I guess it's a scary time for everyone," Finn said. "I'm glad you could be honest with me though."
"I'm glad you could be honest with me," Rachel said.
"Well, one of the things we decided was that we'd always be honest with each other, right?" Finn asked.
Rachel smiled. "Yeah, it was." And she knew that whatever this year threw at her and Finn, they'd get through it together.
