"Spy! What are you doing?!" Elise cried out, thrashing around like a wild animal.
"Shh!" Spy shushed loudly as he grabbed hold of Elise's wrist, activating the cloaking device. As for him, he disguised, as much as he despised it, as the enemy Pyro. "Listen to me. I cannot keep an eye out for you all the time. Whenever you are in trouble, call for me." Spy's RED smoke dissipated and in front of Elise appeared a BLU Pyro. "Mhmmph?"
"What?" Elise asked in fear.
Spy shook his head and stayed, only for a moment, from his masked voice. "Okay?"
"Yes," Elise said out of breath.
The BLU Pyro nodded. He took his hands away from Elise's shoulders then disappeared. As for Elise, she just stayed in one spot, her ears ringing from her racing heart and the terrifying sounds of war. Screams and cries for help rang throughout the whole RED building. Elise had to get to a safe place. After little thought, Elise ran towards the nearest open door, ignoring the sign above. Without looking where she was going, she ran into a back.
"Arg!" a voice grunted. A gun shot rang in Elise's ears as she squeaked and scrambled to push herself against the wooden walls. "What the bloody hell?" Sniper said.
Elise took her hands off of her ears and opened her eyes to see Sniper holding a very large knife, growling like a beast of the wild. Observing, Elise stood and attempted to slow her breathing. She had to decide quickly; warn Sniper of her presence, or run away. Either way, Sniper would hear her and do what he was trained to do. Kill.
"I know you're here Spy," Sniper sneered. "I can hear your heartbeat."
"Sniper..."
Sniper swung behind him, almost getting Elise in the shoulder if it weren't for her quick reflexes. With her soaked gloves, Elise uncloaked and put her hands in front of her to catch Sniper's arm.
"No, no, no, no! It's me Sniper!" Elise cried out.
"Nice try Spook! You're not getting me this time!" Sniper forced his arms to push deeper and deeper into Elise's defence. "I can't wait to see your blood on that horrible suit of yours!"
"Stop! Sniper no!" Elise screamed. "SPY!"
Spy sneaked around in the sewers, trying to limit the sound of water whenever he walked. He heard the familiar beep of a sentry and stood still until he heard the clang of the Engineer's wrench against his little toy. Spy took a deep breath and uncloaked, his Pyro disguise showing up. He ran in and mimicked the Pyro's voice for help.
"Emmphimeer!" Spy mumbled.
The BLU Engineer's head shot up from behind the dispenser, his hands bringing up his shotgun. "Stay right where you are," he growled, his dark face showing little emotion. "Prove, you little bastard."
"Mhmapdn raphad furrm tuturk shhurk skmmf-"
"Alright, alright," Engineer said with a falling face. "Geez little buddy, don't tucker yourself out. What d'ya need partner?" Engineer asked as he dropped his shotgun and took out his wrench.
Spy moved in behind him to stab him. Engineer turned back and smiled, patting the Pyro's rubber facemask. Under it, Spy snarled at the friendly contact. He cleared his throat and stood up again.
"Herrp mur!" Spy mimicked as he motioned the Engineer to follow. He mumbled some more, gesturing to the sentry gun then back to the Engineer. He played out the Engineer packing up the sentry and started to jog on the spot.
"You've got a better place for me to put this?" Engineer asked suspiciously.
Spy nodded vigorously and ran out towards the entry of the sewers. Spy cloaked when he was out of Engineer's sight. He waited to hear the sounds of the sentry being packed and the grunts of the stout man.
"Hey, Pyro, wait up!" Engineer called out in the sewer. "Where are you little fire bug?"
"Right behind you," Spy said with a satisfied smile as he dug his knife into the Engineer's back. He went back to the Engineer's little toy factory and sapped his teleporter and dispenser. He collected the fallen ammo from the wrecked dispenser. "Thank you, my dear friend."
"In here," Heavy said with his grisly voice.
Spy cloaked immediately, unsure if the voice belonged to the enemy. He crouched in a corner and waited for the large shadow to appear on the brightly lit walls. When he was sure that the Heavy belonged to his team, he uncloaked and called out to the fatigued German behind.
"Doctor, please," Spy said politely.
The German was confused for a moment, squinting behind his glasses. He walked closer, his boots clicking against the floor. "How do I know you're not a Spy?"
Before Spy could respond, the German cried out with his eyes going wide. As soon as the doctor fell, a BLU Spy stood tall, cleaning his blade before looking up with a grin on his face.
"Well, well. Look who finally showed up to the party," the BLU Spy said. "Did you fear for getting another little cut."
"A little cut? From your wimpy tricks?" RED Spy laughed wholeheartedly, taking his knife from his inner pocket and flipping it open. He then pulled out his cigarette case and took one slim stick out, lighting it, then offering one to his enemy. "Cigarette?"
"Non," BLU Spy rejected. "Never trust the enemy," he said as he brought out and lit his own cigarette.
They stood with straight backs, circling around, never taking their eyes off of each other.
"I like that rose, a good addition to your ugly suit," RED Spy commented with a laugh. "Maybe you truly are a traitor, because that rose is red."
The BLU Spy smiled, bowing his head in appreciation. "Thank you kindly. But may I just compliment you on your matching socks? Oh, how foolish of me, the design fits magnificently, but the colour..." BLU Spy clicked his tongue. "You sir, must be colour blind."
They both laughed. With each distracted, both of them went for the neck, stopping when the colour of blood dibbled down the silver of the blade. Eyes still locked, sly grins still arched.
"You're a quick thinker," RED said.
"So are you," BLU replied.
RED smiled widely, his gun cocking. He saw the fear flash in his enemy's eyes. "But I'm quicker."
"Spy help me!" Elise cried out.
"Oh, you're a good Spy," Sniper growled.
Elise tried her hardest to push the lanky man away from her, but he had a stable stance and a firm grip on his godly knife. A bead of sweat dripped off of Sniper's animalistic lip.
"No! Sniper!" Elise widened her eyes and started to steady her breathing. With a risk to taking her head off, Elise rolled to the side, all of Sniper's weight dropping, his knife wedging into the wood. He scrambled to get up before trying to retrieve his knife. He put his foot on the wall for leverage. "Sniper!" Elise called as she walked timidly towards him.
"Stay back!" Sniper yelled as he put his fists up. "C'mon you bloody Frenchman, fight like a real man."
Elise blocked Sniper's rushing punch, flipping him over her back and swiftly going on top of his abdomen to keep him from moving. But Sniper was smarter than that. He grabbed Elise's waist and kicked her onto her back. He got up and with one strong pull, got his knife free from the wall. He took his left hand and choked her, his other raising high with the blade glinting in the window.
"This is going to feel good."
Elise thrashed tried to get a hold of his waist with her legs, hoping for him to flip onto his side. He clawed at his hands, feeling string under her gloved fingers. Realization flashed in Sniper's eyes as he stared at the crocodile tooth dangling from Elise's shaking hand. He didn't move a muscle as he became mesmerized just by looking at the swinging tooth. He dropped his knife with a clang his mouth opening in embarrassment.
"I-"
Loud footsteps rushed into the room. Both Sniper and Elise looked in the doorway to see Medic staring with wide eyes.
In his perspective, he saw Sniper on top of Elise, her legs wrapped around his waist.
"You, bastard," Medic growled as he stomped towards the two.
"MEDIC!" Demoman cried out in pain. "C'mon, I need a hand here doc!"
"I'm on fire!" Scout screamed.
"Where'd you go you wuss?!" the enemy Sniper called out loudly from the other side of the battlefield.
A bullet rushed passed Medic's dishevelled head, but he ignored it as if it were a measly bee. Medic picked Sniper up by his vest and stood his up, shoving him roughly to a wall. "What were you doing?"
"I thought she was an enemy," Sniper mumbled.
"Does that frightened look seem like the usual enemy Spy? Hmm?" Medic shouted.
"How can I trust any bloody spook! She's a Spy, nothing else!" Sniper cried out.
Elise's heart sunk. Sniper was the only person to say that she was nothing but a normal girl. Not a Spy. But he was right. The more she thought about it, the more she understood that, no matter what she says or who she speaks with, she'll always be seen as a Spy. Spy's are to never be trusted, Spy's are to never been seen as nothing more than a backstabbing liar.
"Someone is going to hear us," Elise hushed. "Please you two, quiet down."
"I will not permit friendly fire against a teammate!"
"A teammate? That bloody thing? That's nothing more than you're little fucking schoolgirl crush!" Sniper spat as he threw a punch at Medic.
He got the older man right in the jaw. Medic stumbled to get up and pressed his medical coat to his chin, blood seeping through. He dodged the punch that Sniper threw and tacked him to the floor. Elise thought for a moment if she should really help them.
"Stop it! Right now!" Elise shouted. Her heart was pounding in her ears. "They'll hear us!"
A loud whirring sounded at the entrance and Elise's immediate reaction was to cloak and hide in the corner nearest the sound. She observed the BLU Heavy as he mercilessly spewed out bullets from his minigun. Her eyes and heart froze as she saw the two men, Medic and Sniper, get killed right in front of her. Their blood curdling cries burned in her ears and her mind, forever haunting her. She covered her mouth tightly as tears were threatening to fall. The Heavy's footsteps made the floor cry, unlike when he was coming up the stairs.
"Come out, little Spy," the big man said. "Heavy know you are here."
Suddenly, Spy, her Spy, appeared before her. She shook her head and then saw the BLU again. The little flash told her exactly what she needed to do. She took out her knife and silently revealed it. She uncloaked and raised her hand to stab the big man. He turned around quickly for his size and his gun started to whirr once again. Elise shouted and dropped her knife, but her voice was overtaken by the bigger man's. His cry was just as terrifying as her partners'. The overwhelmed Elise dropped onto her bottom.
She heard the wet slap of the fabric against the bloody wooden floor. She shakily raised her hands to see her black gloves darken greatly. She knew exactly what it was. She looked up at Spy, seeing him clean the blade of his knife. He tucked away both his handkerchief and his knife in his jacket. He offered his hand. Before Elise took it, she picked up her knife and folded it into her pocket.
"Wh-what... Medic and... and... Sniper," Elise said brokenly. Her tears had already fallen without her knowing, and her cheeks were stained with the blood of both her teammates and her enemy. "They're..."
"Stop it right now," Spy commanded with his eyebrows furrowing. He wiped Elise's red face roughly, irritating her skin and causing it to glow even more. "If you show that again, you're going to be killed."
"What? Killed like them?!" Elise shouted as she pointed at the bodies. Except, there were no bodies there. Just bloodstains. Elise jumped both at the war outside and the disappeared bodies. "What?"
Another shot sped through the window, grazing Spy on the side. He hissed loudly as he lead Elise away from the window. He looked down at his wound and saw the blood gush out.
Elise started to bawl, falling into Spy's chest where his arm's didn't wrap around her. "Not you too."
"It's just a flesh wound you stupid-" Spy caught himself just in time. He exhaled, frustrated, through his nose. "I'm not going to die. Stop crying!"
Spy pushed her away from his chest and, out of nowhere, slapped her across the face. She stopped crying immediately, and as if a miracle had appeared, her eyes glowed with the look of a murderer. Just the sight that Spy wanted to see.
"What the fuck Spy?!"
"You better smarten up, or else, like I've said, you'll die out here."
"We have captured the enemy's intelligence!" the Administrator announced.
"I got it! I got it!" Scout cheered. "Whoo! Try and get me now you BLU bastards!"
Elise got caught off guard when Spy suddenly let go of her shoulders. She chased after him down the stairs clumsily, knocking Spy down and the two of them tumbling down the stairway. Spy groaned as he got up, his wound spewing blood onto Elise's suit.
"Oh God... I'm sorry!"
"STOP FUCKING APOLOGIZING! YOU'RE A SPY, FOR CHRIST'S SAKE! YOU BETTER LEARN, PETITE FILLE, BECAUSE YOU'RE BLEEDING MENTOR YOU SEE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU WON'T ALWAYS BE AT YOUR SIDE!" Spy shouted into Elise's face with menacing eyes. He turned on his heel and staggered into the resupply room.
Elise stood on the spot with wide eyes.
"Oh, hey! Lookey here Spy!" Scout screeched to a stop and backpedalled to jog on the spot in front of the frozen Spy. "Look what I got," Scout winked as he lifted up the briefcase.
Elise looked down at her bloodied body then back up to meet Scout's gleaming eyes. His teeth peeked with his boyish smile as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Lemme make a deal with ya," he said.
"Get moving soldier!" Soldier shoved Scout on the back as he passed, a bloody shovel in his hand.
"I'll let you bring this to our point, if you'll give me a little kiss."
Elise looked at him with a weird look, one eyebrow rising to her hairline.
"Oh c'mon, a little peck," he smiled.
"Get him!" Soldier said, but this voice was a bit deeper.
Elise knew what she had to do. She shook her head, rejecting Scout's offer. But, just for the giddy boy, she kissed him on the cheek before disappearing with a flirtatious smile.
"Yes!" Scout fist pumped in the air.
"Got'cha!" the BLU Soldier shouted. He shot straight through Scout's chest, his limp body dropping right in front of the resupply room. The large American bent down to pick up his team's intelligence, but ended up flopping down with a knife in his back.
Elise dragged it out and wiped the blood on BLU's uniform. She picked up the intelligence and followed the sign towards the point. She smiled to herself, knowing that what she just did may have been shady, but at least she earned her privilege to carry the briefcase.
"Spy?" Engineer questioned as Elise dropped the briefcase onto the desk.
"Success! We have secured the enemy intelligence!"
Elise turned around, not completely sure of what she's done.
"You captured the intelligence?" Engineer asked in shock.
Pyro's head popped from behind the dispenser. "Mhhrff hurr Shpur?"
"I know buddy!" Engineer said with a cheer. "Congratulations Spy! You're the first capture of the day, and it's your very first capture!"
"Duur hurr kerr ahurran?" Pyro mumbled.
Still completely unsure of what just happened, Elise tilted her head.
"The little guy's asking if you've killed anyone yet," Engineer replied. Pyro nodded along.
Elise's eyes widened, her hands starting to shake. "I... I did. A Soldier."
Engineer whistled as he grabbed his utility belt, chuckling with a smile on his half covered face. He shot out his hand before Elise, his rubber glove squeaking. "Well I'll be damned. You're first kill was a Soldier, huh? Spy's going to be mighty furious at you, little lady."
"Why's that?"
"He's the only one on the team who's ever killed a Soldier on their first try," Engineer smiled. "Have you been through respawn, doll?"
Elise stayed silent. She shook her head as her eyes strayed to her hands. She walked out.
"Oh, Spy! Wait up!" Scout called out at the other end of the hall. As soon as he caught up to her, which didn't take very long, her pulled on her shoulder, forcing her to turn around. "What the hell was that?"
"What the hell was what?"
"You had me killed!" Scout cried out. "And you took credit for the freaking intelligence. That's uncool."
A light bulb popped on top of Elise's head. It was the perfect strategy.
"Of course," Elise said with a sly grin. "It won't happen again. I'm new at this, you know."
Scout sighed and pulled out his bat. "You know, you really are a Spy, aren't you?"
As offensive as it should've been, Elise smiled, her eyes darkening. "Yes."
Scout shook his head and ran off, calling behind him. "You better not do that again!"
"No," Elise disguised as an enemy Scout. "Of course not."
Hey, hey, hey! Look who's back! :D
I'm so sorry for not updating guys. We got back two days ago, and being the lazy bum I am, I left this chapter until today. Now, remember when I said that I may or may not write a chapter for this story... Yeah, as you may have guessed, I really didn't.
My mind was storming over a different fanfiction that I was writing, and to be honest, I didn't have the motivation to write one for A Spy's First. I'm so sorry to those who waited such a long time... Yet, at the same time, I'm thankful that you guys were so patient and decided to forgive me and read this chapter. ;)
It was a bit rushed (written in about an hour) so there are a lot of mistakes and all that poop. So if there's something you see wrong, please don't comment. Send me a PM, and I'll get to it right away!
Once again, thank you so much for supporting me and waiting so patiently for this chapter. I know it wasn't as epic as you thought it would be (or maybe it was) but it's the best I could do in an hour.
There will be a second part to this, so you don't have to bawl over it. :D
Hugs and Kisses! :)
