Hello readers I know this was supposed to be complete but I'm adding two more chapters in honor of Puffgirl1952's birthday (Dec.23). Basically I'm completing my original 7 day thing, for those satisfied with how I ended it you may consider this non-cannon to the story if you wish.
Once…there was an angle…who found fault in his god.
"She's but a child! Why should she suffer for eternity in your name!?"
"Enough Ishmael! You dare defy divine law?"
"The methods through which she has suffered were far from holy!"
The god, though she loved Ishmael knew he couldn't be exempt from discipline.
"You care much for this sacrifice…Fine, be it what you will."
"My lord—"
The god bound her angle in light and stripped the feathers from his wings.
"AHHH!"
"You will no longer know the joys of love and justice…nor the beauty of my presence. The crown of punishment will forever be donned by you…It saddens me to see you of all my creatures so easily turned from your purpose…you were my law embodied. To let such selfish human emotions defile you…"
"She's…but a child…"
"Not anymore, dwell in the taint you so wish to protect."
The light was stripped from him as was his emotions; no more holy love, divine compassion, only servitude remained. The crown of punishment was impaled into him ruining his face and distorting his mind. As he fell from the god's side he became twisted, first his beauty rusted into ugliness. Then the earth upon impact corrupted him. Ever since he has only known the girl, only known her will and how to carry it out.
Shilnda blinked and looked around the black void surrounding her, was she sleeping? Slowly a figure approached her from the darkness until it was fully illuminated.
"Alessa?" The girl smiled and tilted her head as if trying to appear cute.
"That's a sad story isn't it? A slave basically feels something outside of his master's programming, a creature only to know how to push and hurt in its creator's name feels…guilty and is therefore banished from the promised land." Shilnda frowned in confusion at Alessa's words.
"Why are you telling me this?" Alessa continued as if Shilnda hadn't spoken.
"A creature defied its own programming, broke open the gate to its mind. He was the Holy one's law and judgment. If he could gain his own conscious once and stand against all that he was…doesn't it seem logical he could once again?"
Day 6: Shilnda shot up in bed breathing heavy as sweat poured down her skin. She clutched her head at the deep pounding and ringing in her ears, the voices from her dream still imprinted in her mind. What had she heard? Who had that been? As her eyes cleared she looked around herself in the dark musky room absently noticing she was alone. After Pyramid had brought her back yesterday he had left abruptly, and by the way her muscles felt she had more than likely slept well into the night. Slowly she moved her somewhat sore body into a sitting position and slid her legs over the edge of the bed. Was the pain stronger today? A small shine caught her attention from the corner of her eye, a small glass filled with more of the strange fluid sat beside the bed. Reaching she barely managed to grab it without spilling. She drew back slightly at the blood clinging to the outside bottom of the cup and made a small noise at the lone maggot on it. With a flick it went flying and she quickly gulped the fluid.
She sighed as the effects quickly hit her numbing the torture of her body. So pyramid must have been back already she sat the cup on the bed in contemplation. Carefully she pulled on her shoes and made towards the door. A slight tug. Nothing. Another tug. She managed to brace herself without falling by holding firmly to the handle.
"That was close…" Pulling open the door she noticed the stairs were dank and empty as always, she wondered briefly if she would be in trouble for going to the top of the stairs. A cold chill ran the length of her spine. Slowly and with great struggle she began to climb the stairs. About mid-way she stopped and sat gasping for breath, A slight ache already forming through her body. Wasn't the drink supposed to be super effective? A small scraping noise made her jump, her heart began to race. There was no way to run all the way down without major injury which would bust her anyways, and there was no way he'd believe she had woken up there. Taking a deep breath as the scraping sound grew she turned and waited for Pyramid to show. Soon the light from the doorway became obscured by his form. Pyramid stood there watching silently, was she trying to escape again? His anger began to grow as he started his decent. Shilnda could feel the ominous aura around him like static as he came closer, every clang of his blade making her heart skip. She gulped when he finally stopped in front of her. As he slowly raised a hand she spoke quickly.
"Where were you, it's hot!" He stopped and seemed to freeze in place as he registered her words. She was hot? He glanced at her garb and noticed faint sweat stains as well as some droplets ringing her cheeks…though he figured those were from him intimidating her just now. What an annoying girl. He continued to move his hand and instead of grabbing her hair, he yanked her up into his free arm. Shlinda froze as she waited for his actions, would he fling her down the stairs? Would he crush her? She gasped in surprise as he turned to climb the stairs. Even after the episode yesterday she was still finding herself scared of him it almost shamed her. Once they reached the top he sat her onto her feet and waited for her to move or something. First thing Shlinda did was head for the bathrooms, however instead of him waiting for her outside he began to follow her in.
"Whoa!" Pyramid stopped as she pressed her hands against him.
"You can't follow me in here this is the restroom!" A mild blush lit her cheeks. Was she serious? He'd already gotten to know her intimately and she was worried about using the toilet? Shlinda stood silent as he continued to remain in place, a bob of some sort made her glance down…at his enormous erection. A cold sweat took her and she spun away from him. Pyramid tilted his head, was it so shocking she had touched him after all…he couldn't remember that last time someone had touched him willingly. With a slight annoyance at the mortal's embarrassment he turned and left the restroom. The girl really made to many demands of him. Quickly she used the restroom and went to leave but something stopped her in her steps. Slowly she turned as a hissing sound grew loudly behind her. She stopped and was face to face with a giant roach like centipede on the bathroom wall currently halfway of it staring at her.
"AHHH!" Pyramid swung around at the shout towards the bathroom to see the girl come rushing out with a giant bug creature behind her. He reached and grabbed her arm swinging her behind him before holding up the great knife. The bug's giant maul was instantly split as was it's body as it continued to rush blindingly. Blood sprayed the both of them as it finished flaying it's body in two, both halves of it collapsed and fell unmoving.
"Was that why you tried to follow?" She asked weakly. A simple tilt of his helmet was enough for her. She swallowed several times and she tried to wipe the flesh bits off her. Pyramid turned and stared but noticed a small piece on her shoulder. His tongue reached out making Shlinda still herself as the small volt appendage snapped up a small piece from her she'd missed. She stared in shock at the kind gesture that was until he drew it beneath his helmet and proceeded to munch. Pyramid ignored her as she gagged slightly and stared at the dead monster. The creature was new, had Alessa brought him someone to punish? He listened, tuning past all the terrified cries of monsters once human of future and past deaths to take place here. Slowly he begun to lumber towards the hospital entrance.
"Where are we going?" Shlinda asked as she followed. They made their way down some streets she didn't recognize all the while wondering where they were headed, a deep knot in her belly filling her with worry.
"There is someone here isn't there?" His silence and purposeful movement confirming her suspicions. She thought back onto her dream and took a deep breath.
"Do you have to kill them!?" She rushed in her asking. Pyramid continued to move and ignore her almost as if in a trance. She began to mildly panic, what if Alessa wanted her to stop Pyramid and it had been a warning? Her mind raced as they drew closer to his target, his steps getting jerkier and less fluid. He could end up killing her if she interfered or worse…more torture. What was so special about this victim that Alessa would make her risk her life? Pyramid had already killed countless people so what good was there in stopping him now? Pyramid stopped forcing Shlinda to shake her thought so as not to bump into him. She looked and instantly froze in terror. The man stood in shock and fear his deep blue eyes shone from beneath curly red hair. His eyes locked onto Shlinda.
"Shlinda!"
"Darren…" She stood aghast, he had come looking for her? But how had he gotten to Silent Hill? Her eyes widened as Pyramid began to move, without a thought she put herself in his path. He stopped, she dare do this again in front of his prey!?
"You can't! Not him!" Shlinda shouted as tears began to spring to her eyes, the fear nauseating her. Pyramid shoved her aside making her wrist hit the ground beneath her with an agonizing pop. He was warning her not to interfere, but she knew she had to.
"Shlinda! Run I'll be fine!" Darren yelled as he pushed his glasses further up his nose. Shlinda knew better and as Pyramid continued towards him she shoved herself up and planted herself into his path yet again. Pyramid enraged grabbed her by the throat and lifted her from the ground. Judging by her open defiance she clearly knew the person. He growled before flinging her again into a nearby wall. Her eyes shot open as her head and back snapped against the bricks, her vision went searing white. Falling leimply to the ground she heard the faint threat Darren was shouting as Pyramid drew ever closer. Unable to see but white she forced herself to fight through the aching throb of her wrist and push to her feet. She moved towards the sound of Pyramids scraping and reached out, she felt flesh. Pulling she pressed what she now knew was his arm against her halting the beast. Pyramid glared at the girl as she stared off in a different direction past him.
"I can't let you take him…I can't let you have my brother." Pyramid seethed, so Alessa had sent the girls family. It was no matter for the boy carried sins that needed to be dealt with. He stabbed his knife into the ground and then proceeded to flick the girl's forehead knocking her over. He moved without the blade, faster now towards the boy, if he allowed her time he'd be at this all day. She was far to defiant to keep around, he'd take care of her after her brother Alessa's anger or no. Shlinda's vision cleared and she looked to see pyramid hefting him into the air. What could she do!? She reached as she weakly tried to crawl. What could she DO!? Just then in a moment of panic she yelled just as pyramid placed his hand on Darren's face to crush it.
"STOP ISHMAEL!" Pyramid dropped him. There was silence as Pyramid stood still then in such grace she had never seen of him he began to walk almost float towards her. He stopped within inches of her. Shlinda felt the air leave her lungs and as if her life was about to end. In a gurgle almost metallic scrape sound words flowed echoing from pyramids helmet.
"W..hat…D..id….yo..u….c..all…me…" His words hurt her just to hear, pain was firing off her every nerve ending, his words had sent her brother into a small convulsion not far from them. She swallowed the bile in her throat and tried to speak through parched lips, her words failing her.
"An…swer…"
"Ishmael…I called you…Ishmael…" Pyramid continued to observe her, his stare drilling into her very being. Alessa had some explaining to do. As he went to approach the girl the siren sounded, turning his head slightly to glance back at the boy he grunted. He knew what Alessa was after now and he'd be damned if—
The butcher appeared quicker than Pyramid could register, the shadows basically spat him out and in one swift motion he had the boy in his hand struggling. As much as Pyramid hated having a victim stolen he needed to get the girl out of here; orders were orders and he was still bound as her protector. As Pyramid turned to look at Shlinda again she instantly leapt up and raced past him towards the butcher. She didn't care if he ripped her to pieces they would not get Darren! The butcher raised his cleaver apparently set on cleaving the limbs from Darren's body. Pyramid roared as Shlinda charged at the monster, the butcher looked at her as she ran and deftly went to cleave her in two first. Tears blinded her but she managed to just barely dodge the swing by bending down. A clang sounded as pyramid brought up his knife cutting off the butchers attempts to bring his weapon back down on her. Pyramid and the twisted copy of himself faced eachother in a stale mate, he would not let a mere shadow take his charge; that was his job.
The butcher jumped back throwing Darren into Shlinda during the process sending them both flying into a nearby building. Pyramid enraged twisted and swung at the creature only to be deflected by the butcher's cleaver as he continued each time making the butcher move back as they both continued their swings. Shlinda holding her unconscious brother coughed, making a small trial of blood run down her chin. Vision going quickly all she could do was clutch to her sibling as the demons fought til finally with her eyes focused on pyramid she began to fall to darkness…that last blur she saw…were those wings? As the demons battled Pyramid shoved sending the butcher skidding with it's clever cutting into the ground. Chancing a glance at the girl he noticed she was watching but just barely, the sight of blood from her mouth angering him further as he was not the one responsible for that. Looking back at his opponent he was caught off guard at how close the butcher was and lead back, just far enough to where the cleaver missed most of his helm but cut out a chink on the bottom of it and mad a deep gash down his left arm.
Pyramid fell to one knee and lifted his knife to prevent being cut into two and locked into another stalemate. As Butcher pushed Pyramid pushed in turn, his arm slacked slightly from the wound and bleeding profusely. He had to act quickly, he had to…he glanced Alessa behind his enemy smiling, and knew in that moment what she wanted; he cursed her bitterly. With an inhuman sound Pyramid received a burst of strength sending the butcher flying and landing hard on to the asphalt of the street. Bending over in pain Pyramid arched his back. His skin seemed to bubble in two cylindrical patches beneath his shoulders as if something was moving. Another inhuman screech sounded as the skin burst to reveal two pods of barbwire twisting and slithering onto itself rapidly. The butcher stood to it's feet and heaved up it's weapon from the ground. Pyramid glared through his helm as more pain burned through him. The butcher charged and Pyramid answered. Roaring he bent backwards out of his arch, as he did so the barbwire pods on his back spread and unraveled, bones covered in blood burst forth taking the form of wings, the barbwire hung from the bones in morbid decoration from his back. Twisting as the butcher reached him the bones and barb crashed into the creature sending it flying to a nearby wall while at the same time ripping gashes into its flesh. The butcher's impact broke through the wall and into the building which then proceeded to collapse onto it. As the dust settled, Pyramid wheezing obscenely screeched as the bone wings were bound by the barbwire crushing them and then proceed to cut into his back making them vanish as they dug into him once more. He fell onto the asphalt as the siren sounded and the darkness began to withdraw.
"Well done." Alessa spoke as she stood over him, her presence as usual as if from nowhere. The girl knelt beside him and while petting his helm whispered.
"You will be saved Ishmael, and the goddess will pay for what she has done. The climax is here." Alessa kissed Pyramids helm as he finally fell into slumber.
