In The Fairy Realm
Kendra levitated a glass of mother's milk, don't ask, to the dining room while Pisi stalked after if with a determined look on her face.
"You've been practicing." Walt said.
"Yeah." Kendra said.
"So are you up for going swimming before you have to get to training?"
"Yeah, but I don't have a swimsuit."
"What am I chopped cod?" Pisi asked. "Remember, tailors make clothes."
"Oh yeah." Kendra said. "Could you make me a swimsuit."
"Of course. Meet me in your closet in five minutes." Pisi said.
"I'll go send a dove to Anihita." Walt said.
"Huh?" Kendra asked.
"A dove. To send a message. To Anihta." Walt said.
"Um. Why doves? And who is Anihta?"
"Doves cause I don't wanna walk all the way over there and Anita is the Empress of the Mermaid Waters."
"So you just send doves to empresses all the time?"
"Why not? She's my sister."
Kendra almost choked on a piece of rambutan, a weird hairy fruit with a grapey inside.
"Now go get your swimsuit made so we can get going." Walt said taking her plate.
"We have to talk about that eventually." Kendra shouted after him.
Kendra went to her closet and let Pisi take her measurements. Pisi got two rolls of fabric and grew huge claws and cut through them producing a two piece, cheetah print bikini.
"Killer isn't it?" Pisi said.
"Sure." Kendra said.
Pisi purred and went back to making things with her fabric.
When Kendra went to the front door Walt led her down a few streets and around a path until they were at a beautiful beach. Unlike any beach Kendra had ever been to there were mermaids, Haliae, Selkies and Sirens sat on the rocks singing songs.
"Well what are you waiting for?" Walt said and he dived into the water followed by two mermaids whose tails made a plethora of splashes.
Kendra ran into the deep blue water and swam with Walt and all of the sea creatures for the next hour before going home, taking a shower and going to her closet to find that all of her normal clothes were accompanied by dresses, skirts, blouses, shorts, gowns and accessories Kendra would never wear.
"Don't you love them?" Pisi asked. "I made everything that humans find trendy."
"It's great." Kendra said delusively.
"I picked out something for you." Pisi said pointing at a brown leather jacket, a white ruffled shirt, cream colored pants, brown leather boots, a brown leather purse and sunglasses.
"It looks great." Kendra said.
In order to spare Pisi's feelings Kendra wore the outfit Pisi picked out and went to the castle where the unicorns let her into the gate.
When Kendra got to the training room where Bila was.
"You're early." Bila said. "And you look fabulous but I'd do. This."
Bila waved her hand and Kendra's face felt heavy and her hair felt hot.
"Perfect." Bila said.
"What did you do?" Kendra asked.
"Well conjure yourself up a mirror and see."
"I've only learned levitation. Remember?"
"Yeah but you're a natural at using magic so it shouldn't be difficult. Just picture a mirror in your hands and will it to be there."
Kendra imagined a mirror in her hands and after a few tries she had a mirror that looked like the one from Kendra and Seth's first stay at Fablehaven and looked into it. Kendra looked like a different person, she had lots of eyeshadow, blush and mascara on with pink lipgloss, contoured cheeks and her hair was in loose curls.
"I look like you." Kendra said.
"I'm going to take that as a compliment and get straight to the lesson." Bila said. "Conjuration."
"I came to learn how to control these auras so I wouldn't hurt Seth anymore." Kendra said. "Why do I have to learn how to make things appear?"
"Well your magic came out because it was built up like a...thing that couldn't hold anymore of the thing it was holding." Bila said "And it burst."
"So I have to let it out every once in a while." Kendra guessed.
"Or it builds up until your emotions let it out. You haven't tapped into your magic since Zzyzzx."
"But I've had magic for a while before Zzyzzx and I've never done this."
"You recharged those artifacts. That let some of it out."
"Ok so I need to either recharge an artifact or do some spell a few times so I don't accidentally unleash all of that pent up energy?"
"Pretty much. Now let's get to conjuring up harder stuff."
"Alright."
Back At Fablehaven
Seth and Reylen were playing Dead or Alive in Seth's room which was just the attic with different wallpaper and furniture.
"No fair!" Seth said after lost round 1.
"There was never a no powers rule." Reylen said.
"It's an unwritten rule of video games."
"Sure. Team Ninja was thinking that powers would be cheating when they made this"
"No. No. No" Seth said as he lost the match.
"The speed and reflexes of Hermes." Reylen bragged.
"Whatever." Seth grumbled.
Vanessa came to the door.
"Come downstairs we've got another eternal." Vanessa said.
"Who is it?" Seth asked.
"Two girls named Annabel Harvey and Alisa Nguyen." Vanessa said.
Seth and Reylen rushed downstairs where they found a girl with short brown hair, pale, slightly freckled skin and light blue eyes and a tan girl with deep green hair with silver highlights and striking blue eyes.
"Hello girls." Grandpa said.
"Hello." Annabel said in a British accent.
"Hello." Alisa said in an Australian accent.
"Do you want to tell us anything about yourself?" Grandma asked.
"I am Annabel Harvey and I am a witch because I was cursed as a baby by a demon but unlike a typical witch I can fight the urge to do malevolent things and I want to become an eternal so that the evil creatures in Zzyzzx can be kept inside for as long as possible." Annabel said.
"I'm Alisa Nguyen and since i'm half dryad so I can do a few things dryads can do." Alisa said.
"Well we are glad you're here." Grandma Larsen said.
In The Fairy Realm
Kendra was leaving the castle from her training session when she ran into a teenage girl that had fair skin, bleach blonde hair and an extremely poofy brown dress.
"You must be Kendra." The woman said in a rich and silky.
"Yes. Who are you?" Kendra asked.
"I'm Raqqosa, daughter of the fairy queen." She said. "You're the girl my brother is always talking about."
"Really?" Kendra asked.
"Bracken is always going on about how fair you are and how beautiful you are." Raqqosa said. "He is always swooning over mortal girls. He gets so happy when someone doesn't just want him so they can be a member of the royal family but, of course mother never approved of them. Except for that one that died."
"Raqqosa!" Bila and Golau yelled.
"I will make sure you never dance again." Bila said.
"What did mother tell you about Kendra?" Golau asked "I think it was something along the lines of if you go near her you'll be exiled to the mortal world."
"I was just saying hi." Raqqosa said innocently.
"You are sick!" Bila yelled. "What kind of girl wants her brother like...that."
"Don't pin your fantasies on me." Raqqosa said.
Bila nearly threw up.
"I'm telling mother about this." Golau said
"No you won't." Raqqosa said.
"Yes we would. Um, you're forgetting that nobody likes you not even your mother." Bila said.
"How would you know. You've never even had a mother." Raqqosa replied coolly.
For the first time Kendra ever saw Bila looked hurt.
"At least my mother wouldn't send me away for being such an oropsu." Bila said returning to her confident and snarky self.
"Don't speak to me that way!" Raqqosa yelled. "I will soon be your queen."
"Golau is your oldest sister, then it's Su Kiz and your mother is practically immortal so I'd say unless your planning to kill everyone in your family except him you'll never get the crown." Bila said casually.
"Maybe I will and I'll start with you!" Raqqosa screamed.
"Oh mother will love to hear this conversation. What was that about the killing again?" Golau said flying up and into a window of the castle.
"No you don't." Raqqosa said spinning like a top and following her up into the window.
Bila grew a pair of fairy wings that looked like sparks flying out of her back and flew into the same window as Golau and Raqqosa did.
This will be the last chapter where I'm just dragging out Kendra's time time in the fairy realm because I'm sure you're tired of it.
