Hey everyone! Thanks a lot for the reviews on the last chapter. This was one of my favorite Season 4 episodes but I really missed Finn in it. (I can't believe there's only one more with Finn in it left...) Enjoy and review if you want me to keep going!

Chapter 87: Guilty Pleasures

Brody arrived back at the apartment and began packing up his things without even greeting Rachel. Rachel wondered what was going on. "What are you doing?" Rachel asked.

Brody didn't say anything. He just continued packing his things and started to walk out of the apartment. Had Santana said something?

Finally, Brody began to walk out. "I don't understand what's happening, why won't you talk to me?" Rachel asked as Brody walked out.

Brody turned around. "We'll always be friends." He left the apartment, and a few minutes later, Kurt and Santana came in.

"What are you doing here?" Rachel asked Santana.

"Well, you said she should either lay off Brody or move out," Kurt said. "It appears that Brody's gone, so Santana can move back in."

"And I'll pay rent this time," Santana said.

Rachel had a strong suspicion Santana had something to do with Brody moving out. "Well, I guess we could give it a try."

"Yeah, and you'll love it so much, you'll not want to get rid of me," Santana said. "So, is it over with you and Donkey Face?"

"I guess," Rachel said. "He just walked out."

"That's for the better," Kurt said. "At least now I don't have to worry about him walking around the apartment naked."

"He did that?" Santana asked Kurt. "Do you need therapy?"

"I thought you liked him," Rachel said to Kurt.

"I thought I did at first," Kurt said. "And then when he came in here, I found out what he was really like."

"Yeah," Santana said. "Meaning psycho."

Rachel sighed. "I'm going to go take a shower." She went to the shower and heard Kurt and Santana arguing in the bathroom.

"Okay, this is ridiculous," Santana said. "If I'm going to be paying a third of the rent, I'm going to be needing a third of the shelf space."

"Don't get too comfortable, okay? This is only temporary," Rachel called from the shower.

"I don't even think you need all these beauty products, Rachel, 'cause they're not really having the desired effect," Santana said. "Unless you goal is to look like a reject from the Shahs of Sunset."

"One, Rachel's beautiful," Kurt said. "Two, you're a bitch, and those are my products, okay? And maybe if you used them, you wouldn't have more oil than the Middle East on your face."

Rachel couldn't clearly hear what Kurt and Santana were saying now. It seemed that they were whispering. By the time Rachel was done showering, only Santana was still in the bathroom.

"Ooh la la, Rachel Berry in a towel," Santana said as Rachel came out of the shower. "How could Brody give all that up?"

Rachel didn't feel like being teased. "You know what, not now, okay. It's too soon. Everything still reminds me of him. You know we first met in the bathroom, bonding over our moisturizing ritual?"

Santana smirked. "Wow, that sounds really not romantic and also very, very gay. Is that why he left, huh? Did he finally admit to having a boyfriend on the side?"

Rachel thought for a moment. Santana had a point. He'd just taken off. Why was he leaving, anyway? "You know, he actually didn't even say why. He just picked up his things and said we'd always be friends."

"Puke," Santana said. "That is the most clichéd breakup line ever. You're not gonna be friends, and you don't need him. I mean, you've got friends right here."

Santana was calling herself Rachel's friend? "What? Friends who mock my looks and undermine my confidence?"

"No, friends who cheer you up by playing pranks on your other friend," Santana said.

"What are you talking about?" Rachel asked.

"Maybe a mascara mustache for Lady Hummel, which would probably be the only facial hair he's ever had," Santana said. "Or we could do that stick-his-hand-in-warm-water-make-him-wet-the-bed trick? Lady's choice."

Rachel felt herself starting to giggle, but then she rethought things. "Are you sure that he wouldn't get mad?"

"He'll think it's funny," Santana insisted.

"Okay," Rachel said. "Let's do the warm water one."

"Okay," Santana said. "Meet me in the kitchen at midnight."

So at midnight, the girls snuck into Kurt's room with some water they'd boiled. Rachel noticed an arm around Kurt - an arm that definitely wasn't a human arm. "What the hell is that?"

Kurt woke up. "Oh, my God, the curtain means privacy."

Rachel stared at the arm around Kurt. "Oh, my God, Kurt. That thing is really creepy. What is that?"

"I thought it was stupid the first time I saw it, too, but I kept thinking about the ad," Kurt said. "You know, 'Are you lonely? Do you need companionship?' Yes, yes, I need all those things. It just offers you a nice, protective arm around you while you sleep at night."

Rachel wondered why Kurt hadn't said anything to her. "Hey, I mean, it's probably safer than trolling Grindr for a man-whore," Santana said.

"Did you name it?" Rachel asked.

"His name is Bruce, and we're exclusive," Kurt said. "So you cannot borrow him."

"That's fine," Rachel said. "I'd rather have F... never mind."

"What did you just say?" Santana asked.

"Nothing," Rachel said.

"Did you just say that you'd rather have Finn's arm around you?" Kurt asked. "My, you've moved on quickly."

Rachel didn't know what to say. Of course she'd rather have Finn. But she'd just broken up with another guy. And since she'd broken up with him, she wouldn't even have someone to fill the void.

Santana turned to Kurt. "Do they have girlfriend pillows?"

"I don't know," Kurt said.

After Rachel got home, Santana was sitting in the living room. "Kurt has surprises for us," Santana said.

"Really?" Rachel asked. "What?"

Kurt came in with blindfolds. "No peeking." After a few minutes, he spoke. "Peek, peek, peek, peek, peek."

Rachel looked. There was a pillow arm around her shoulders. "Oh, my God," Santana exclaimed. "Kurt, you gave my boyfriend pillow a sex change. That's so sweet. If you ever tell anyone about this, I have no ethical problems with Hummel-cide."

Kurt looked at Rachel. "You don't seem as excited about yours."

"This is weird, and I'm not lonely," Rachel said. She was okay. Maybe she and Finn would get back together soon and she could cuddle with him... No. She'd broken up with someone else and that was who she needed to act like she was into. "Okay, I don't need anything to cuddle with. Just 'cause Brody moved out doesn't mean that we're not gonna get back together."

"Okay, no," Santana interrupted. "I'm sorry. It is over, and it's gonna stay over. I was wrong Brody being a drug dealer, but I was just wrong about what he was selling. Your boyfriend wasn't a caterwaiter, he was gigolo. Like Magic Mike with happy endings for money."

A gigolo? Brody was sleeping with other people behind Rachel's back? Rachel didn't know what to say. She turned to Kurt. "That's not true, right? You didn't you didn't know about that." Kurt didn't say anything. "It's not true, right?" Kurt still didn't speak. "Right?"

The look on Kurt's face told Rachel that yes, it was true. She couldn't believe it. She'd opened herself up to Brody - and he'd just been playing her. He could have put her in danger of an STD... "You're welcome!" Santana called after Rachel.

Rachel collapsed on her bed. A gigolo. At least if he'd been a drug dealer, that was something that didn't really effect her. Instead, he'd lead her to believe that he was interested in her, and he was sleeping with a bunch of other women for money behind her back.

The only boy who'd ever liked her for who she really was, she'd possibly lost for good. Puck had only been dating her to please his mother. Jesse was leading her on for Vocal Adrenaline's sake. And now Brody was sleeping behind her back. Rachel picked up her phone and dialed Finn's number.

Finn went to the mailbox and saw a letter waiting for him from University of Lima. He opened it and just saw the first sentence. "Congratulations!" He'd been accepted for spring quarter. He'd be able to start working toward his teaching degree.

Finn smiled to himself. He had to tell Rachel. Low and behold, his phone started ringing, and he looked at the caller ID and saw that it was Rachel. "Hey!"

"Hey," Rachel said. "How are you?"

"I'm great," Finn said. "I just got my letter from University of Lima. I got in!"

"You got in?" Rachel sounded happy. "I'm so proud of you!"

"I didn't think I'd be able to get into college," Finn told Rachel. "But I got in."

"I knew you'd get in," Rachel said. "I'm so proud of you."

"Thanks," Finn said. "I really enjoyed helping the glee club, and the night I left, Marley said I should go get a teaching degree... and I realized that I should."

"Still no word from Mr. Schue?" Rachel asked.

"No," Finn admitted. "I miss helping out the glee club, but maybe it's for the better that I get a degree so I can do this for myself."

"I'm really proud of you, Finn," Rachel said.

"Thanks," Finn said. "How are you?"

"Well, Santana and Kurt told me that Brody was a manwhore," Rachel said.

Finn didn't know what to say. Should he tell Rachel that he and Brody had gotten into that fight? Probably not, because she didn't mention that. "Wow."

"Yeah, wow," Rachel said. "I just... I can't believe he lied to me."

"He's a loser," Finn said. "Why was he doing that anyway? That's so gross, and isn't it illegal?"

"Yeah," Rachel said. "I don't know why he started dating me if he was doing that. I'm sure there were lots of much hotter girls to have sex with for money rather than me for free."

"Well, there's no one hotter than you," Finn said.

Rachel giggled. "Thanks Finn. It's just... part of why I called was... he put me in danger... and we slept together at the wedding... so... I'm getting tested and you probably should, too."

Finn had never thought about that. He'd been tested after sex with Santana and it came back clean. What would his mom think about him needing to get tested again so soon? "Yeah, that's probably a good idea. How do you feel?"

"Tricked," Rachel said. "Stupid."

"Hey," Finn said. He wanted to tell Rachel he wanted them to get back together now, but maybe it was too soon. "You're not stupid." She hadn't said anything about being sad about Brody. That was something.

"Thanks, Finn," Rachel said. "So, ready to start college?"

"I'm excited," Finn said. "You're the first person I've told."

"Awww," Rachel said. "Well, if I get the part, you'll be the first person I tell."

"I look forward to getting that call," Finn said. "But seriously Rachel, you can't just let Brody do this to you."

"What do you mean?" Rachel asked. "He just left the apartment without saying anything."

"You confront him," Finn said. "Go up to him and make sure he knows that what he did to you wasn't right." As Finn talked to Rachel, he felt angrier and angrier at Brody. No one should do this to the woman he loved.

x

Finn was right.

Rachel shouldn't let Brody get away with what he'd done. She knew his class schedule, and today, she went to his classroom with some money in hand. As she saw other students leaving, she went up to Brody, getting close to him. "Hey." She slipped the money into his hand.

Brody looked at the money. "What's this?"

"I was hoping that I could have dinner with you tonight," Rachel said. "I'm sorry, is it not enough? I wasn't sure what the going rate was these days for male hookers."

Brody threw the money at Rachel. "Don't judge me."

It was pretty hard not to. "Oh, really? For selling your body?" Rachel asked.

"Not everybody has doting daddies to pay their bills," Brody snapped.

Had Brody not heard of loans or scholarships? Rachel just felt so angry and stupid. "I'm such an idiot. I'm such an idiot. You told me that if we were honest with each other that anything was possible. Why did you lie to me?"

"Why did you lie to me?" Brody asked.

Rachel wasn't the one sleeping with people behind Brody's back. "When did I lie to you?"

"Who do you think did this to my face?" Brody asked. "Your ex-fiancé. He jumped out of a bathroom, went all Frankenstein on me."

What had happened? And when had this happened? Then Rachel thought. Santana had suspected something about Brody. Maybe she'd gotten Finn to get to the bottom of it. "Finn came all the way here to do that?"

"Yeah," Brody said. "And who's the liar now? I know you still love him. And I know that you slept with him at that wedding."

Rachel hadn't said anything about the sex at the wedding. "Did Santana tell you that?"

"No one had to tell me anything," Brody snapped. "Look, I'm sorry that I lied about all that stuff, okay, but I meant everything that I ever said about how I feel about you."

Rachel figured she might as well admit the truth. "You're right, I haven't been, uh completely honest with you. I think that there was a part of me that was using this. Partly to make Finn jealous and, um, the other part to just fill my own personal heartache." She'd never really liked Brody. She only got involved with him because she was lonely and she missed the boy she really loved. It was like Kurt and his boyfriend pillow. Only with a live person instead.

"So, what, this is just over?" Brody asked.

"Yeah, uh it feels like it is," Rachel said.

"Seeing you around is really gonna suck," Brody said.

"Well, I'm sorry," Rachel said. "I'll be polite when I see you, but I can't be in a relationship that my heart's not in. I didn't want to be alone, but the truth is that there's only one person I really love."

Rachel decided to just leave now. She had to admit, what she'd done had also been wrong, but maybe now it was time to make things right. She went back to the apartment, where Kurt and Santana were watching Facts of Life. "Okay, we have to turn this into a musical so that I can play Jo," Rachel heard Santana say.

"Can I be Blair, and we can do a duet?" Rachel asked, joining her friends.

"Well, that depends on what, uh, happened with you and the American Psycho," Santana said.

"Yeah, we had a pretty mature and honest conversation," Rachel said. "You know, we decided that we're obviously gonna be professional, because we're gonna see each other all the time, and be in each other's lives because we go to the same school. But, yeah, it's it's over. For real. And, you know, I really have you to thank. Because you didn't give up, and you really were trying to make me see, and I appreciate you getting Finn to come and defend my honor. I know that was you, so I swear I will never doubt your Mexican psychic third eye ever again."

"Why the long face?" Kurt asked. "You've got a hot boyfriend pillow in there named Colin. I named him Colin after the non-threatening boy in The Secret Garden, 'cause I know you loved it. Don't be sad."

Rachel wasn't sad. "I'm not. I'm good, I feel ready. You know? I'm ready for my Funny Girl audition, and to maybe start seeing older guys," she joked. "And I'm definitely ready for our new and permanent roommate. But I'm gonna use the pity card just for a second, since I am the one that is heartbroken and going through a breakup and found out that my boyfriend was some weirdo man-whore, I'm gonna get to pick the movie tonight, okay? And I think we should pick the best guilty pleasure movie musical ever." She picked up Mamma Mia and put it in to watch with Kurt and Santana.
