Heroes' Perspective
Seth vaugely recognized the figure that took over Kendra's left side. It was Tywyll.
"Welcome back." Senkrad said."Thank you for bringing me back, mistress." Tywyll said.
Tywyll raised her hand and a black cloud appeared around Seth's head.
Seth's head started to hurt and a voice was talking in his mind 'Join me' 'They do not respect you.' 'Join me and they will all fear you.' 'I will teach you to use your powers.' 'Aren't you jealous of your sister?'. The next thing Seth knew he was in the hall with the doors again and was looking at Kendra's shadow. 'Tear it into pieces.' 'Kill her!'.
"Never." Seth said.
"Do it now!" the voice said.
Seth closed the door and ran to the mirror. He somehow knew to jump out and he ended up back at the battle with the cassertite daggers in his hand and bow carved from black wood on his back.
"What the?" Seth said.
"What a shame." Tywyll said.
Black tendrills made of ill-will appeared around Tywyll and launched at Seth but a shield of light appeared in front of him. A black ball of fire appeared in Tywyll's hand and she shot it not at Seth but behind him. Another shield appeared that protected Bracken, who had undoubtedly put up the first shield,.
Seth looked down and saw two sheaths and a quiver of arrows on his hips. He reached down and grabbed a silver arrow and put it in his bow so expertly he almost would have thought he ever used a bow in his life before.
"No!" Bracken yelled before Seth fired. "Those arrows are dark, they'll kill Kendra."
"That's the beauty of using someone else's body. I don't have to worry about their family killing me to save them." Tywyll said.
"What can we do?" Seth asked.
"Nothing." Tywyll said. "Taking her form was easy because she already had such a great potential for darkness. She's like me in a few ways."
Bracken shot a beam of light energy from his horn but Tywyll just laughed and turned it into a black pool noodle.
"Oh please just give up." Tywyll said.
Seth had an idea.
"Keep her distracted." Seth said to Bracken.
Seth thought back to how Kendra said she used magic and willed himself into the hallway again. He ran along the hall looking into each door before he found the one that housed Kendra's shadow again. He focused and reached for it but he felt a searing pain in his ribs. When the sensation faded he reached inside the shadow and pulled a cool mass of dark energy from it. Seth ran back to the mirror, a little woozy from what he just did, and stepped through it.
Seth flew back out of his shadow and into the battle. Kendra's sword swung at him and would have decapitated him if he hadn't brought his dagger up to stop it so fast he surprised himself.
"Kendra, I just saved your life and you try to kill me as a thank you." Seth said.
"Who are you?" Kendra demanded.
"Um, your brother."
"He is." Bracken said.
"He cant be." Kendra said.
"But I am." Seth said.
Bracken conjured up a mirror and Seth looked into it. He was the him from the room with the doors with the pale white skin, red irises and tattoos all over his body.
"Woah." Seth said.
"Why do you look like that?" Kendra asked?
"I have no idea. When I came out of your shadow in that cave I looked like myself."
"It may be the dark influence of-" Bracken started. "Oh no."
The Fairy Queen and Senkrad were launching the white and gold and black and red blasts of energy again with the images of things associated with light and darkness. After a long time the Fairy Queen won and all that was left of Senkrad was a red and black feather cape.
