CHAPTER 19
SUNGLASSES AT NIGHT
It was quiet now, Wonder Girl drove calmly. Her and Roy's hands were entwined, resting on the console. It had turned to night very quickly and everyone was pretty quiet with the exception of music coming from earphones. Wally was listening to music from Wonder Girl's iPod. She lent him the miscellaneous device because she knew from when they'd been a group with Speedy, Aqualad, and Robin he'd often grow bored when they had to travel to far way places with nothing to do during the trip. After all, he was used to speed and traveling to places at a faster rate, and he wasn't particularly used to waiting nor delays.
To this point Beast Boy looked out the window in thought. He liked looking at the stars, those pretty little bulbs. They lit up the whole sky and never before did he want to distract himself away from it. Admittedly, it made him remember the time when Raven forgave him for when he turned into that horrid Beast. "Having that thing inside doesn't make you an animal. Knowing when to let it out is what makes you a man." If he ever made a trademark, or made a movie—anything! He would use that quote because it really had inspired him, believe it or not. And how Raven looked in the light when she said that, she was beauty. They hadn't even talked since they kissed, she only really stared at him and that was it. So nothing there. He really only needed to focus on saving Thunder and Lightning. Speaking of which, he wondered how Kole was in Japan. But before he could even ponder on that he heard a familiar melody. The radio hadn't been turned on really loud, but he could still here the song.
"Hey turn in up!" He exclaimed loudly. "This is my jam!"
Wonder Girl turned it up and smiled. "Oh my gosh!" She shouted. "I like this song, I first heard it when I was stopping this drug ring, the people who were doing the trafficking were in a band that covered a lot of 80s songs. Where did you hear it?"
Speedy only said, "What? What's this song?"
Beast Boy smiled and said to Wonder Girl, "I heard this song when I was with Kole."
"Are you two together?" she asked out of sheer curiosity.
Beast Boy shook his head. "No we aren't dating, but we're together."
Wonder Girl blinked confusedly. "I still don't get it..."
Kid Flash must have taken off his headphones. He tried solving Wonder Girl's confusion. "Well, what Beast Boy is saying here is that he is dating Raven, but he is friends with Kole."
"Raven?!" The goddess said in shock. "Why, I never thought them as a couple. Now that I think about it... They do complement each other."
"While she's deceiving me!" Roy all of a sudden bellowed out, singing the correct lyrics. "She cuts my security!"
He sang a couple more lines breaking the silence of the car. Beast Boy soon joins in, "Don't switch the blade on the guy in shades, oh-no!" He laughed after that when he realized that that was the line him and Kole sang together. They had both been in that thrift shop just having fun.
Wally soon joined in with, "'Cause you got it made, with the guy in shades, oh-no!"
And Wonder Girl who didn't really know any words in the song except the chorus owned the part she knew so well, the guys singing along with her.
"Oh I say, I wear my sunglasses at night, I wear my sunglasses at night,
I wear my sunglasses at night...!"
They just sang and sang. Kid Flash bobbing his head back and fourth, Wonder Girl doing the snake (a dance move) with her neck while controlling the steering wheel, Beast Boy doing the cabbage patch, and Speedy acting as if he had an electric drum set and playing them. They were acting like regular teens on Friday night just driving around, listening to music. Despite the clothing, you would've thought them to be just regular teens. But then the song ended and everything went back to normal. Everything silent once more. Kid Flash went back to listening to The Who, Wonder Girl focused on the road, Roy held hands with Wonder Girl once more, and Beast Boy continued staring out the window. In just little time they would come to the Warehouse to discover a nightmare. A Pandora's box. Frenzy and Chaos...
Just you wait.

Robin fidgeted slightly while speaking. It may have been due to the fact that there was barely an audience to speak to.
"Hello fellow Titans," he said with precision and certainty, "you are all gathered here today because a massive problem has occurred and we need to get down to it. Your fellow Titan, Beast Boy that is, has gone and done the unthinkable with many other Titans. He has formed a vigilante alliance with other teammates who are I mention: Kole, and the Storm Brothers; most notably under the aliases Thunder and Lightning.
"If there is one thing us Titans stand for, it is justice and integrity. Those two words that well describe us as a team doesn't include the term 'going against the law.' Going out there alone and being secretive while fighting crime without the acknowledgment of law enforcement is being a vigilante. Justice and integrity is what heroism is all about.
However, that does not go with Beast Boy's beliefs. Gratefully he hasn't killed anyone... Yet, to say the least. But he will soon be on the brink of defiance with a new team formation and other quandaries he may surprise us with. Without judgement I am entitled to think that some of the Titans who aren't here today have followed Beast Boy. They are going along with his charades and we will stop this. Us as a group, a committee, a crime fighting team will stop him! With the help of you: EVERYONE..."
The leader stopped talking when he looked across the room and out the window (or literally the building made up of steel and glass), he saw a team he thought to never see in this moon. It was the team ranked higher than the titans, and a lot older. You went from a guy dressed in a bat suit to the woman who represented girl power. They looked defiant and well, if not suffice to say to the sitting teens who had turned around and looked where Leader Robin looked, they also looked intimidating.

Kole began to tear up. She wouldn't find Gnarrk. That's just how scarce her luck was. She searched all over the place, but he just couldn't be found anywhere.
When walking she had spotted a hotel,
good, a hotel! Were her thoughts when she'd first scene it. It looked like a nice little villa.
At first she told herself that she walked into the hotel because she was just looking around and observing the architecture; so elegant and classic the place was. Eventually she checked herself into staying for a night at this place.
"Miss," the employee at the desk said. "What will you be paying with, mm?"
Kole stopped staring at the portrait that was behind the employee lady. It had been of stars and moons, drawn in the most peculiar fashion.
"Uh," she began to reply. "My great uncle who doesn't live here will be sending me money." That was a lie. Kole hated lying, it wasn't a complement to her image. But desperate diseases must have desperate remedies after all, you just have to find a cure to the problem.
The employee smiled politely. She had chipped teeth. The lady would've looked more attractive if she didn't have her hair up in a tight bun, and if she died her eyebrows to match her hair color but that's another case.
The lady then said with an accent in a curt and forward manner to Kole, "we do not eecept cash, or foreign cash. So whatever your uncle sends you, you hope it's a credit card. Unless, you've already been registered as a staying guest, then I can arrange something, ay."
Kole sighed and tried smiling peachy. "Uh, it will be here by tonight. I jus' know it, 'cause I talked to him earlier and he... said so."
The lady looked uncertain but she soon smiled and nodded. "Alright, I'm assuming vacancy. You're in room 102. Here is your key, and if ya need anything else use the phone. The staff number should be on a slit of paper close to the receiver. Okay? Well, I'll be waitin' for that money. So, have an enjoyable time here."
Kole dragged her luggage up the stairs and to her room. It hadn't been easy. Dropping her bags abruptly on the floor when she reached her room door, she took out the key-card and unlocked the door. When she walked in, she was greeted with loneliness. The bed was a small twin sized bed with a quilt-type comforter. There was a desk and chair, a mini fridge, and a small Sony television. The bathroom was extremely small; inside it only a shower, a small toilet, and a sink. This was vacancy?
Kole was tired. She didn't want to think about life and all it's awful happenings.
She dropped her bags once more onto the floor and jumped onto the bed, it made a squeak and soon she was asleep.

Jericho called a corduroyed minion to his bedroom and asked him of his father's whereabouts. Jem, that was the man's name, said in response, "your father is working." Oh, didn't he feel like a young boy...
Jericho tried not to roll his eyes. Wasn't just Jem wrapped around his father's finger?
Yes. He signed. I know that. He then explained with his hands how he would like to go to where his father was, and how he would like to leave his room and go outside. He needed air.
"Joeseph, your father wants you here," Jem said. "He doesn't want you snooping around. We wouldn't want any nonsense. And no, you cannot see your father, he is busy. Are you hungry?"
He was sick of this. Obviously Jem wore sunglasses so he couldn't make eye contact with him. Jem knew of his powers.
But that didn't stop him.
He had been cordial and assertive at first. Trying to not cause trouble. But he needed to be a superhero. Jericho kneed Jem in the stomach who surprisingly hadn't seen it coming, and with that have happened it lead to a full on fight. Admittedly, Jericho had been rusty. He won though, and he made eye contact with Jem who had also become unconscious. Meaning he could speak like him and go about, following his fellow members doing their own little thing.
Jericho got comfortable and walked in those corduroy pants trying to act normal. Like nothing had occurred out of the ordinary. He walked out of the bedroom, and looked back at Jem's memory. Immediately, Jericho knew where to meet Jem's comrades. They were to travel to the warehouse in a couple minutes, they were going to leave him locked up. Then opening the heavy metal door he scoped outside. No one was around. He looked up and saw a camera and it was pointed at him.
Nothing happened.
He then walked up the steps that lead into the chamber room where the minions and Slade clones met. No one seemed to notice him. The leader of the group just talked merrily on to everyone about how proud Leader Slade was of all of them. Thunder and Lightning are now miraculously under mind-control. That troubled Jericho's mind. Damn it. Hopefully things would get moving quick. No need to praise and think so highly of "Dear Leader Slade."

Raven and Jinx together pulled out the big heavy bag that was pushed-in under the seats. The bag was filled with a potpourri of spell books and potions. "So, Raven, this new spell you learned has the ability to tell you of where a person is located?" Asked Jinx as they both hefted the bag on the dashboard.
Raven nodded and began to pull out a lot of bottles from the bag as she sat down in the passenger's seat, and (specifically) a book that had a globe on the cover. "Yes. I used it to help you locate Thunder and Lightning." She handed the book to Jinx and she started unscrewing the bottles. "Okay Jinx. Start reading the instructions so I can know what to put in this." Raven pulled out a white shallow bowl. Criss-cross apple sauce, she put the bowl in her lap. She motioned for Jinx to begin reading.
"You will need a bottle of water, mercury dust, leaves, bark, a bad potato, and dirt."
Raven nodded. She had everything.
She motioned for Jinx to read once more. "After assembling all the necessary ingredients you will first use the water. The spell requires only two tablespoons."
Raven didn't need a spoon, she eyeballed the amount she poured into the bowl.
Jinx continued to read. "You're to pour the two table spoons into the bowl, and after, comes the dirt and mercury dust. Only a sprinkle of mercury dust, and a handful of dirt. You put both things into the bowl at the same time."
That was done in no time with absolute precision. Jinx and Raven coughed at the powerful fumes. Geez, they hoped there wouldn't be any mercury poisoning. The bowl now contained a dark red liquidly substance.
"Inside the bowl it should appear of a dark red substance that are in the matters of liquid. Therefore, you will tear up the leaves and break the bark up into pieces. Before throwing those things into the bowl, point/present them at/towards the sun and chant your preferred mantra..."
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos." Raven then threw the pieces of barks and leaves into the bowl.
"The potato the only thing left. You will peel off some of its layers and while doing so the potato's juice will refine from it. You will hold the potato over the bowl as juice drips out and very quickly you will chant your preferred mantra again and name a person or people of whom you would want to know their location."
Raven trying not to asphyxiate from the gross potato juice on her hands she recites her mantra once more, and names Beast Boy, Speedy, and Roy. She recounted their appearances and soon enough her and Jinx both saw that the group was already at the warehouse.
Soon Jinx and Raven would go out there to the warehouse just in case there was any trouble. Because when it comes to Slade, it only means trouble.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Another quick update.
Thanks for reviewing, I'll reply to reviews when next chapter. But most certainly I'll answer your question right now JasonVUK.
Raven is still dating Jericho, but both her and him do kind of need to remember that, and they're sort of uncertain of their feelings for Beast Boy and Kole. It'll be cleared up soon!
Reed, out.
