Chapter Fifteen: Somewhere the clock is ticking
Author's note : GUYS I'M SOOO SORRY FOR THE LATE UPDATE, I've been busy with Summer School, and family and friend drama (that never gets old!) But I promise I'll update sooner.

Haley James had a big decision to make whether accept and move on with Nathan or to move on without Nathan. She thought long and hard about this. She picked up her phone and she dialed Nathan's number.
"Hello?" A deep voice said.
"Hey it's Haley, um I was wondering if you could meet me today after I drop James off to school?" Haley asked.
"Uh yeah sure. He came back from the hospital? Is everything okay Hales,"Nathan said concerning.
"Yeah, everything's okay. He okay but has a broken leg but insists of going to school, to show off his cast. Just meet me in an hour okay?"
She hung up and got out of her bathroom and downstairs to make coffee before dropping James off. She thought long and hard about this decision. She knew what she wanted, at least she hopes she made the right decision.
Peyton packed the last of her boxes, from the home she shared with her ex-husband movie director, writer and producer Julian Baker. She put the last boxes in her Silver Audi R8. She was moving into a small but yet cozy two bedroom, two bathroom condo loft in the downtown area of Tree Hill.
"Well I guess that was the last of my boxes, well goodbye." She said to Julian before heading in her Audi to her apartment.
Her phone rang the caller ID read Brooke.
"Hey, B. Davis. How are you doing, and Luke and Davis and Jude?"
"Hey there , P. Sawyer I'm fine so is Luke and my baby boys. The question is how are you holding up? Where you headed?"
"You know, I still love and miss Julian but it is what it is, and well brace yourself I bought a condo in the downtown area of Tree Hill," She replied.
"Really? Peyton, that's great," She responded; Peyton could hear the excitement in Brooke's voice.
"Well, I kind of need Hales and you tonight because my baby boys are turning one!"
"Oh yeah that's right, tell my favourite boys I love them and happy birthday. I'll definitely be there."
"Okay, great well bye Peyton Elizabeth Baker!" Brooke answered laughing though the phone.
"Hey it's Peyton Elizabeth Sawyer, a newly single twenty-four year old, and proud mama of three amazing children."
"Whatever Peyton. I'll see you later.
She hung up the phone. She loves her friendship with Brooke and how they could tell each other anything and five minutes later just burst out laughing. She knew this move wasn't gonna be easy downsizing from a five bedroom, four bathroom two story house she once shared with the man she loved. To a two bedroom, two bathroom condo loft in the downtown area of Tree Hill.
Haley was about to tell Nathan how she really felt about the question he asked her the other night. "Give me another chance Haley, so I can show you hpw much I love you, and show you as well." Those words that echoed in her head.
He knocked on her door.
"Hey." Nathan said as Haley opened the door and let him in.
"Hi, Jamie said he misses you."
"Well I miss him too." Nathan said sincerely.
"What I needed to talk to you about was what you told me the other night. I thought long and hard about this believe me, and I've decided to give you another chance to prove yourself to me, and be the man I fell in love with and still love. But if you blow this chance you will not get another one and this time I mean it,"Haley responded.
"Really?, oh Haley I love you," He said shockingly.
"Yeah I love you too, I have to head out this evening and I need my boyfriend there, my godsons are turning one."Haley replied.
"Boyfriend huh? You like that word don't you, and I'd love to come since my brother is married to Brooke."
"Yes I do, so let's go and get them a gift." She said grabbing her purse and iPhone and leaving.
Back at the Davis-Scott house Brooke and Lucas decorated their house for their sons first birthday everything had to be perfect.
"Lucas you have the decorations right, because they will be coming in an hour," brooke shouted from her kitchen to make sure Lucas heard her.
"Yeah, I'm getting them out of the box now."
"Okay."
Ten Minutes Later...
The house was decorated for Davis and Jude's first birthday.
"Volia, everything's perfect." Brooke said.
"Yeah. Have you talk to Peyton?"
"Yeah I mean she still loves and cares for Julian because they share three beautiful children, she got an apartment in downtown Tree Hill. I didn't even know that Tree Hill had a downtown area, it's a freaking small town." Brooke replied.
Lucas just nodded. "You know I get it."
"Yeah. I know." she mumbled.
Peyton moved all her boxes into the condo she bought.
"Huh. This acutally isn't that half bad," Peyton mumbled.
She blew her hair out of her face as she started to unpack her box labeled 'kitchen stuff'.
Her doorbell rang, as she thought it was the pizza .
"Huh, that was fast." She said.
She opened the door as she was shock as who stood there.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" she asked.
"I asked the door man if he knew where you lived, and he told me that 1297 was your apartment," he told her
"But how'd you know what apartment building."
"Brooke told me. I thought you were married, that explains why the huge rock was gone, and I'm sorry for your divorce, if Julian can't see what a great guy you are then he isn't the one for you," Jake explained.
"Look Jake, why are you here it's not like I'm not happy to see you. But why?" She asked.
"Well because I wanted to see you, and honestly I missed you. When was the last time we talked?" he asked.
"I don't know... like six years," she mumbled softly.
"Well then why don't we do something tonight?" He asked.
"I loved too, but I already promised Brooke and Luke I'd come to Davis and Jude's first birthday. I loved to have you come with me. I'd enjoy the company. So what do you say old friend?" She explained and asked.
"Sure anything for you Peyton," he said with a smile. Truth was Jake was still inlove Peyton, even after no talking or seeing each other in six years he still feels what he felt for her the moment he met her. After all she was his first true love.
"How's Jenny? How old is she?" Peyton asked going into her closet as she managed to put some of her clothes away.
"She good, she's six. She growing up so fast, I remember the first day we were together. Seems like another life ago."
"I know what you mean Dylan's almost turning six too, my god time flies." She responded as she slipped into a black mini strapless dress.
"You ready to go?" She asked.
"Ready is I'll ever be,"he said, as they linked arms and walked out her apartment as she locked it to make sure no boxes were stolen, as she headed to her car with Jake by her side.
Brooke was waiting for her guests to arrive, there weren't many. It was just the rivercourt guys, Haley, Nathan, Peyton and that was practically it.
"There's somebody now," she said to Lucas before turning the other direction to get the door.
"If it isn't Haley, my favourite godson Jamie and Nathan," she playfully replied as she let them in to her home. As they set the gift on the table.
"You got back together with Hot shot Scott and you didn't tell me?" she asked, pulling Haley aside as she raised an eyebrow.
"You were busy planning Davis and Jude's party that I didn't have time to tell you," she answered a little more uncomfortable as she walked over to the island and poured herself a glass of delicious 1994 John Grejeo classic red wine.
"Oh my god you too did the wild thing last night!" Brooke squealed, glad that her friend was hacing sex in a long time, she could practically just be a reborn again virgin.
"No. We haven't gotten that far yet," Haley retorted, sipping her wine.
"Can we please not talk about my best friends sex life please?" Lucas said in disgust.
Brooke was just about to open her mouth and give Lucas an answer, before bring interrupted by the doorbell. This is either the rivercourt guys or Peyton.
"Well Well, what do we have here? Peyton and Jake! Oh my god are you guys dating?" She asked.
"Dating?! What no we're just friends Brooke," she replied.
"Oh whatever come in here."
Peyton entered still linking arms with her former flame Jake Jagelski.
"So are we gonna cut the cake or what?" She asked.
They gathered around the cake and Davis and Jude, as they wished him a happy birthday and took a few pictures
"Happy Birthday To You, Happy Birthday To Davis and Jude, Happy Birthday To You." they singed in unison.
"Time for presents!" Brooke squealed
Haley gave Brooke her present. Brooke opened the wrapping paper. She was shocked to see what was there.
"You got me a scrapbook?" She asked.
"Yeah, now you can put all this memories in here," She said; in a short explanation.
Peyton got Davis and Jude a toy car.
"This is amazing P. Sawyer,"Brooke said.
"Well thank you," she replied.
She pulled Peyton aside to talk to her.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"What do you mean?" she retored
"You and Jake is what I mean," she responded.
"There's nothing going on between the both of us okay? We are just friends that all Brooke," she explained.
"Okay what ever Peyton. Just saying I ship Jeyton," she saod smirking.
"Jeyton?!" She repeated.
"Jake + Peyton, duh." She replied in a playful tone.
Peyton just laughed. But thought about it, could she and Jake be something more than friends?
She didn't know what to do. She still loves Julian and misses him she was married to him for six years, but she's known Jake a long time and he was a great friend.
