Chapter Seventeen: Locked Hearts & Hand Grenades

Seven Months Later...

Haley James sat down the last few boxes of Nathan's things in the entryway of her home, with the help of her sister Quinn.

"How many more boxes Hales," Quinn whined; as she carried the last few in the house.

"Just two more okay Quinn," Haley responded.

"God how many things does your boyfriend have, It's like zoo in here," Quinn said sitting down and emptying the boxes with her brunette haired sister Haley.

"Well you know when you have a boyfriend in the NBA, you tend to have alot of things," Haley assured her.

"So when are you getting engaged Hales, I mean seriously you're twenty-three almost pushing twenty-four in the next few months, you can't be dating Nathan forever," She replied.

"Yeah, but It'll happen when it'll happen okay? No need to push him. He has alot going on enough now the last I need him worrying about is pushing to get engaged," Haley retorted.

"Well it should happened soon."

"I'm glad you came to meet me today." Brooke said walking into a small diner and slid into the booth.

"What is it that you want?" The blonde women hissed as she sat down across from Brooke.

"What I want you to do is to leave my friend and his fiancé alone, you honestly need to back off. They are soulmates. They are meant to be together and if you can't accept that then well you are a completely utter bitch. And if you try anything, and I mean anything your face will collide with my fist then the floor, so it's up to you." Brooke explained slightly angry.

"And what if I don't?" Lindsey scoffed.

"Well then you will have to deal with me." Brooke told her getting up and leaving the small diner.

Peyton sat in her small apartment tapping on the counter, as she waited for Jake to arrive.

Finally the doorbell rang.

"Finally what took you so long?" She exclaimed; before looking to see who was standing at the door.

"Julian what are you doing here?" Peyton inquired.

"Were you expecting someone?" He asked entering her apartment.

"Yeah actually, a date. He is taking me to a small diner on the corner of Front and Grace Street; anyway you didn't answer my question. What are you doing here Julian? What is it that you want or need?" Peyton inquired.

"I was just dropping the last box you left at the house, so I decided to just come here and give it to you, and I miss you Peyton I do. But I get it you moved on I should to," Julian responded dropping the last box and walked out.

"Wait, Julian what is in the box?" Peyton asked.

"Have a look for yourself, if you need anything just call me." He suggested.

"Thanks for the box." She answered.

Forty-five minutes late Peyton decided to take a look inside the box Julian had given her. It was just moments from their relationship; from birthday cards, to first date gifts, to wedding pictures; and the birth of their three children.

She shredded a tear; recalling the memories from her relationship/ marriage with Julian.

She noticed that inside her favourite book The great Gatsby, was a letter he had given her for their one year anniversary.

Peyton,

Today marks the first year of our marriage together…a year that was filled with such wonderful memories. I have never felt more complete, more secure and more loved than I have over this last year. You, my love, make me happier than I ever thought possible.

Together we have shared laughter and tears. And through it all, you have remained my true love, my best friend and my soul mate. I struggle to find the words to express how much I love you and how much you really mean to me. You have given my life true meaning.

I love the way you brighten a room when you enter it…oh how that makes me smile. I love the way you touch me and kiss me with such tenderness. And when you look deep into my eyes, I love the warmth of that glow that fills me. I love how you make me feel when you hold me close in your arms and how you comfort me and whisper, "I love you," whenever I most need it. I love the way we can talk about everything and nothing and still feel our world is perfect just because we are together.

You are the most beautiful women I've ever known and I cherish you more than life itself. The whisper of your name is always on my lips and is written in my heart forever. Happy Anniversary my Peyton I love you and look forward to sharing all of our tomorrows together. I wouldn't trade any of this for anything in the world.

Yours always and forever,

Juju-Bee .

Peyton cried as she read the heartfelt letter Julian had given her. She laughed at what he signed his name. He hated being called Juju-bee, but he let Peyton call him that because he loved her.

Brooke walked back into her boutique as she thought long and hard about what Lucas had told her.

"I want another baby," Echoed in her mind.

As she hated to admit it she wanted another baby too. Lucas and she weren't getting any younger, and Davis and Jude were already one. If she did have another baby she hoped for a little girl who was just like her, and watch Lucas be over-protective over her.

Lucas stopped by the boutique.

"Hey you, almost done?" He asked.

"Yeah, just have to do one last invoice. I need to talk to you," She responded; checking in the last invoice on the store computer.

"Okay what is it that you need to talk to about?" He inquired; taking a seat on the couches.

"Um I've been thinking of what you asked me the other night of wanting another baby, and I've thought long and hard about this, and I say why not. But this is the last baby. Three's a company."

"So you want another baby?" He repeated

"Yeah, and I'm hoping for a little girl this time, but I won't mind a family of boys." She suggested.

"So you want to get started tonight? Right now I mean?" He teased.

"Now Luke I'm at work," She whispered.

"But it won't take long."

Haley sat in her house thinking about what Quinn said to her. "Why aren't you engaged yet?". She grabbed her phone and texted Peyton and Brooke, and Quinn to see if they'd like to come over for a girls night.

Her doorbell rang; she got out of her blanket and answered the door.

"Hey you how was your day?" He asked.

"Um good yours?" She asked.

"Eh, my parents are having a dinner party tomorrow and I have to go. I want to introduce you to my step-mom and dad. And if you don't like my dad after tomorrow I won't blame you," He said.

The door bell rang again with Peyton, Quinn Brooke and Lucas there together.

"Okay you all are here there's something I need to do," Nathan replied.

He got down on one knee and asking Haley the pretty question.

"Haley James will you marry me?" He asked.

She got all teary-eyed. She just needed a minute to process this.

"I just need a minute," She replied shockingly, as she stood there and just processed what Nathan just asked her.

"Will you just give him an answer already Hales, I can't wait to make your designer gown," Brooke exclaimed.

She gave him her answer. "Yes I'll marry you. You goofball. But your my goofball," She replied; as she gave him her hand as he slipped the 5 karat ring on her finger.

"Come on Hales, we have a Naley wedding to plan," Peyton answered.
