Spencer mentally prepared himself before he got inside, he didnt know what to expect, but he wasn't sure if it was going to be good or not.
He'd probably be separated from Billy since the boy was there to perform and Spencer was definitely not a performer.
Pulling out his camera to film Billy would prove lame and probably upset the boy, so he only stuck around until a big enough crowd found their way towards Billy where he was being paid attention to.
When he'd walked in he was met with lots of colourful lights bouncing around the room, everyone was dressed in boas and revealing clothing. They had sparkles on their faces and face paint and make up.
They wore fake fur clothing on their head, around their neck. There was even a guy who would frequently run through the house in a bear suit. He was weird.
Spencer made his way to the kitchen where he took a seat in a corner on the countertop, trying to look busy on his phone.
Billy's music began to blend with the pop music playing from a radio creating an interesting soundtrack for where Spencer was seated.
People were dancing and talking and anything that could possibly be done at parties, Spencer just didn't understand how they could keep it up for so long.
Spencer was there for what felt like a few hours, until some appeared before him, shoving a drink in his face; it was Billy.
"Hey," he said with a sad smile, "you dont look like you're having too much fun?"
"Is that alcoholic?"
Billy responded with a bigger smile.
"Just one."
Spencer complied with a sigh, placing a hand on the can in front of him.
"It'll help you open up. Look," Billy began over the music, "even if after this you decide that you hate parties, please at least try to-"
"Hey dude, tight music, you done for the night?" someone asked from behind.
Billy turned, "Oh, nah. Just took a quick break. Thanks bro," he smirked.
The next few minutes of Billy consisted of his attempts at calming Spencer and everyone else's attempts at letting Billy know how cool he was.
"I gotta go back soon, but please try for me okay?"
Spencer gave a reassuring smile.
"I'll find you in a few hours okay?"
Spencer nodded.
And with that Billy took his leave.
Spencer sat in that spot for a little while longer until another boy found his way over to him.
"Hey," the guy said, he had a full head of curly blonde hair.
Spencer looked up surprised.
"Uh, a buncha us are playin' uha game over there," he pointed, "you wanna join?"
"Uhm," Spencer began, he then thought back to what Billy told him. He was right, he'd decided long before he'd even been to a party that he didnt like them, but now he was here. The party was right in front of him, totally unexplored, and maybe it also had to do with drink Billy gave him, but his answer was, "yea." said a bit too loud.
However the guy didn't seem to care, he happily pushed Spencer along to the group he was in.
"I found our 8th member," the guy announced loudly to a group of people.
The group cheered.
"What's your name?" the guy asked simply.
"Spencer," he responded sheepishly.
"Whoa Spencer!" The group yelled and cheered again. They were probably heavily drunk, as they all had s drink in their hand and the blonde guy was shoving another in his face.
"Im Jared, that's Pinka, Tony, Blair, Chino, Darlie, and Gemma," the guy introduced.
Spencer mumbled a 'cool' before squeezing into a spot on the couch next to Jared.
They first played truth or dare, which mostly obviously consisted of everyone partaking in dirty things. Spencer had been dared to do a multitude of different things.
They then fought over a game of monopoly, who knew people still played board games for fun at parties, and were now sitting our talking of their lives. Telling funny stories, or at least stories that would end in laughter together.
It was strange how a party and drinks could bring together so many different people who wouldn't even think of speaking to each other had they not been in the situation.
It was around 2 in the morning when Billy was finally done singing.
He found himself wandering around looking for Spencer, until he felt a tap on his shoulder.
"Hey, you were awesome," the girl said.
"Oh heeeyy," he hadnt caught her name, "thanks, and thanks so much for like inviting me to play."
"Of course, I knew everyone would love you," she bragged, handing the boy a drink.
"I hadnt caught your name," he asked.
"It's Julie."
"Neat name," he smiled, "have you seen Spence around at all?"
He face began to look annoyed.
"Oh that kid you were with? Saw him over there somewhere playing with some guys."
"Oh," Billy answered sadly, he didnt want to ruin Spencers fun.
The girl in front of him smirked.
"Come on, we can have fun too, besides I still owe you for playing here right?"
She grabbed his arm and lead him up to her room.
"So, you from here," Julie asked as the two sat on her bed side by side. They were drinking, which Billy was tottally underaged for, though they probably both were.
"Nah, imma few hours away."
"Why are you here then," she questioned with a giggle.
So Billy began to explain what happened. He wasn't sure why he was telling her all this, it was honestly none of her business, though the many drinks he'd had probably had something to do with it.
He told her about how he met Spencer and how and why he'd wanted the boy to travel with him in the first place.
"Y'know I just needed a ride to nowhere in particular, I think I'd intended on staying somewhere, but didnt and now Spencer's stuck with me."
"His parents never called him?"
"I sort of blocked them y'know? I mean they're the reason he didnt care about leaving with me in the first place, so why should they get a say in whether he stays or not, that should be his decision."
"I mean I'd really only needed him to stay so he could drive me around since my license was suspended, though I did end up totally getting my licenses again about a month ago."
"So you dont need him anymore then huh," the girl asked.
"I guess you could say that, but," he finished dumping the dripping remains of the can into his mouth. He was now laying on his back with his legs hanging off the bed.
"Why don't I go get you another drink," the girl interrupted with a smile.
"Thanks for this," Spencer gestured at Jared.
"Ahh, you heading out, bud," he asked in response.
Spencer nodded.
"Everyone, Spencer's leaving us!"
He heard all their goodbyes simultaneously at once, and watched them wave goodbye to him.
At least he wasn't drunk, he'd remember them.
He made his way around the party looking for Billy, it was already past 2 in the morning and Spencer just wanted to go to sleep.
Then he saw it, blue hair.
"Hey," he said, putting a hand on the girls shoulder. She had two drinks in her hand.
"Have you seen Billy?"
"Oh, Billy? Yea, he's up in my room," she smirked.
Spencers face fell, why would he be in her room?
"Oh?"
"Yeaaa, he was just telling me about how he only asked you to go on this little journey with him because he didnt have his license," she spilled loudly over the music.
"What," Spencer asked confused.
"But now he has his license, so he doesn't really need you anymore."
Spencer didnt know what to say.
"He also told me that your parents, he blocked their number in your phone so you wouldnt leave him before he got his license back."
"So, I dunno if you should be trusting him anymore," she said innocently.
"Looks like he really fucked your life up, would your parents really want you to come back home after you've been ignoring them for 3 months?"
And with that she turned, with a smile on her face, going back to her room.
Spencer didnt know what to do. Slowly he backed away, bumping into people, then making his was quickly back to the room that the two of them were sharing.
Mum sat there, wagging her tail as he came in.
"Mum, I have to go," he began, throwing all of his things into his book bag, not that he'd had many.
He packed his clothes, camera, and wallet. Everything else was replaceable.
Except for… "Mum, be good okay."
He knelt down next to her, picking the little pup up in his arms. He kissed her head and was off.
Except, where was he to go, he couldn't go back home could he? Would they want him there now? Had they even cared that he had left in the first place.
His head was spinning.
He made his way to a nearby park and sat underneath a tree. Shakily he pulled out his phone, his breathing getting harder, he pulled up his contacts list.
He told himself that this was the only way he could know whether she was telling the truth or not.
He could feel his heart beating in his ears.
And there they were, in the blocked number tab, his parents, his sister, and Shanilla and Rajeev.
He covered his mouth with his hand as tears began to roll down his face. He stood and threw to phone to nowhere in particular, sliding back down the tree.
He banged his head on the tree's hard bark, and repeatedly hit his fist against the ground.
He'd fucked up. Or perhaps Billy was the one who'd done it, but he was the one who'd trusted Billy with seemingly his life, and now?
Now he had nowhere to go, his friends probably hated him, if he could even call them that now, and his family?
What would they think of him? They'd tried to call but he never picked up.
Would they think he was ignoring them, that he ran away just to get away from them?
The thought made him cry even harder, and he didn't know what to do.
His life was basically over now right?
Eventually he'd cried so much that he fell asleep, alone in the park underneath a tree.
