"I have a new life goal for my life." Sirius announced airily, not even looking up from the ancient, thick book he was somehow glued to.

James, Peter and Remus braced themselves, this was bound to be strange. Simultaneously, they all took in a deep breath.

"I've decided I'm going to stop doing things by half measures." He grinned triumphantly, shutting the book firmly.

"Didn't you do that before?" Remus asked.

"No, because, just say, in a relationship…" Sirius began, Remus shifted awkwardly in his seat. "That I'm with this girl and we only get to first base."

"How long have you been figuratively dating for?" James asked.

Sirius shrugged. "A few days, probably."

"A few days?" Peter cried.

Sirius was indignant to anything Peter had said. "That would only be doing something by half; you might as well just go all the way? Geddit?" Sirius was bewildered at his own intelligence.

"I honestly don't think that's what it means…" Remus muttered.

"I will be the most productive person in history." Sirius declared, laughing madly.
