Sometime in a far off place in the hills of Scotland was a foundation that had nestled itself on the nape where a lake and mountain face met that had been there for nearly one thousand years.

On top of these foundations lay a castle that went by the name of Hogwarts.

The castle had many living things in it over its lifetime.

It had the moss that grew and crept in the windowsills.

It had the owls that soared and dominated the skies.

There were the mermaids that took the Black Lake.

One of these living things was a fourteen year old boy.

The boy went by the name of Remus Lupin.

He was in a bit of trouble.

"Moony!" As his friends called him. "We know about your secret. Fess up already!"

Every nerve in his body was set on fire for a second then turned to lead.

"You already know about my furry little problem, Sirius." Remus tried to pretend that he didn't have another secret. If he ignored it for long enough maybe his other problem would go away.

"Not that, you twit." James rolled his eyes.

"We know you've got a secret girlfriend!" Peter cried, grinning with amusement.

"I do not!" Remus retorted, clearly mortified and shocked. They had no evidence to suggest he had a girlfriend at all. Slowly the feeling returned to his legs as he realised his friend couldn't be any further from the truth about his other secret.

"Oh give up!" Sirius shook Remus' shoulders forcefully. "We saw her… bra in your trunk."

James and Peter nodded, confirming the bra sighting.

"I, honestly, was surprised that you obviously had been to second base." Sirius placed a hand over his heart. "It hurt that you didn't tell us about her."

Remus coughed. His face felt as if it could be burning, if you placed a wax candle on his nose it would ignite by itself.

"We broke up, it was over Easter break. You guys weren't here, you were at home." Remus muttered.

"Who was it?" Pressed Peter.

"That doesn't matter. She's in Ravenclaw."

James and Sirius shrugged and left the room, Peter –like a small dog- followed soon after.

Remus sighed a well-deserved breath of relief.

He'd make any excuse under the bright May sun so Sirius, James and Peter didn't find out that he had only borrowed Lily's bra so he could practise unhooking and taking off a bra from a transfigured mannequin so no one suspected him of being gay.

He could make it through his problem.

Eventually.
