About Face
Perhaps two simple words would do it. But self-absorbed – no, self reliant – certainly were the words to describe him; who was I to give hypocritical advice to my new flat-mate? Besides which I was not all too certain I would be heard. The man was obviously far too accustomed to having no permanent company but his own.
But procrastination was not a term I would apply to myself, having tried all my life to escape my brother's shadow. And these were words which were, I felt, needed.
He reached for his hat.
"Watson?"
He glanced at me questioningly.
"Be careful."
