GUYS. You would not believe the struggle I've had! I have had about a 2 month period of no computer. And once it was fixed I had no time. But I am back.

OH! And I saw Mockingjay Pt 1.

Holy. Crap.

I was TREMBLING while leaving the theatre. I had recently re-read Mockingjay and was super pleased with this movie. Amazing how they could turn the slowest part of the novel (the only exciting moments include District 8, bombing of 13, and perhaps the propos) into such a exciting movie! J-Law did a great job portraying unstable Katniss, a version that I had a hard time picturing in my head. Peeta's transformation is.. Heart wrenching. And well executed. LOVED IT DESPITE THE HORROR FILM VIBE. Also, I'm kind of afraid of Roses now, but…

(If you have an overwhelming need to discuss moments in the movie, shoot me a DM)

Back to our story. Here I am on Thanksgiving Break ready to give you a few chapters. Chapter Thirteen is a go!

I sit in my apartment waiting for my mother and Caleb to arrive before I head out. Zeke took care of getting the soldiers together before heading out. I stare at the picture that has puzzled me for this final week of training with the soldiers. I contemplated cutting off Jeanine from the picture, her grin all too familiar and one that will never leave my mind. But I chose not to pull out the scissors on her because I remember that she's dead and I'm the winner, alive and breathing. The man named Tom is the one I've been trying to study the most. He is so familiar, the recognition on the tip of my tongue. I hear a knock and Caleb and my mom enters without a word from me. "We don't have much time," I say and hand the picture to Caleb. "Is this Tom familiar to you?"

Caleb studies the picture intently then nods. "Thomas. He helped Jeanine with the suggestibility serum. He was around the same age as me, perhaps a few years older. He was incredibly distinguished man in Erudite though he'd been there for a short time after transferring from Amity."

I pass the photo to my mom. "Does he look like the man from the Factionless section?"

She sets her jaw tightly after a quick glance. "That's him."

I take the photo back and nod. "Found you".

Caleb coaxes me into letting him join us to Indianapolis and he heads back home to gather a few items of clothing. My mother and I embrace tightly. "I trust that you know what you're doing, Tobias. I want you to know how proud I am."

I kiss her cheek. "When will you take the rest of the citizens?"

"We will leave before the end of the week. Don't' let them in our city."

I nod and see her to the door, handing her the photo. "Take this with you, perhaps to make his face familiar with the citizens." She nods and slips the picture in an inside pocket in her coat. Before she steps out of my apartment (I realized this was the first time she's ever been inside my Dauntless home) I grab her wrist. "Watch Bee for me, please. Tell her I love her."

Her eyes light up and she reaches back into her pocket to pull out a recent photo of Bee and I after a dinner about a month ago. "I brought this to carry with you." I tell her thanks and return to my suitcase. I store the photo in a pocket where it will be safe, right next to my picture of Tris.

Back when we were in Bureau, George showed us a Polaroid camera. We had never seen a picture let alone a camera before, so Tris and I spent a day taking pictures. She posed awkwardly with Caleb despite becoming semi estranged; I snapped a picture of her and Christina in the middle of a laughing fit with their arms around each other. Christina managed to take a picture of Tris and me holding hands while walking and a candid moment of light discussion and a posed smile one as well. I keep our smiling photo in my bag and stick the other two in the dresser drawer in the Dauntless apartment. Stepping out in the hallway, I see Officer Williams holding the elevator for me. I give my thanks and press the main floor button. "How are you feeling today?" I ask politely.

"Excited; ready to work. You?" Her shockingly green eyes glimmer with adrenaline.

"I feel good about our preparations. Nervous to leave my daughter behind."

"Oh, I didn't know you had a child." She smiles sweetly.

I smile in return, confused with my abundant friendliness around her. I blame Bee for bringing out my soft side. "Adopted. What about you?"

She shakes her head. "Never made it into my plan. My husband worked as a police officer with my father, but was shot down on duty."

Sympathy courses through me. "My apologies."

She shakes her head. "No worries. It's been ten years now. But Thank You."

The elevator stops and we give each other a nod before separating. Zeke walks to me, the soldiers patiently waiting at attention for my command. "Caleb is here. He's joining us?"

I nod. "Yes. We know the identity of the Determinant."

Zeke grins and gives me an unprofessional fist bump that I can't oblige. I move towards the army.

"Soldiers: I am beyond pleased and impressed with your work. Now is the time to bring down The Determinant and save Chicago. Are you brave enough?!"

The chorus of men and women reply with a enthusiastic "Sir, yes sir!"

I smile widely. "Load up."

We take four army trucks as well as a large bus that is able to hold the whole lot. Caleb and I discuss tactics of dealing with enemies under the influence of the serum. Afterwards, I bring up The Determinant. Caleb whips out his file.

Name: Thomas Lee Daniel

Status: Alive

Hair color: Brunette

Eye Color: Blue

Parents' status: deceased

Any relatives: One living brother

"Caleb, this Thomas guy looks so familiar. Not just the picture, but like I know him from somewhere."

"Tobias, we didn't see his face when he sent us that message." Caleb replies, his brain processing information to figure out the mystery.

As if on cue, I receive a phone call from my mother. I put it on speaker so Caleb might be able to hear. "Is there a problem? Is Bee OK?"

"Listen, I've remembered something about The Determinate since leaving you. He became a part of the Factionless when the Factions fell. I remember seeing him rallying a crowd to support his cause when I happened to pass through. He was in love with a former Dauntless woman who was pregnant. Tobias, it was Lauren. I'm quite positive."

My mouth turns dry, but I'm struggling to follow. "What are you saying?"

She sighs heavily down the end of the phone. "Beatrice is the daughter of The Determinant."

Shocked to my core, I order the other vehicles to stop and set up camp before dinner. I put up my tent as quickly as possible to get a moment to myself.

Bee. My Bee. The daughter of The Determinant. That's why I thought he seemed so familiar. Bee looks like her mother, but she has her father's smile, though I'm quite positive he doesn't smile as much and I am happier to see hers than his. If she knew, would she want to be with him? Leave me? He is her biological father and if she wanted to go be with him, she would have every right to choose that. But it would kill me. I'm shaking uncontrollably, conflicted on what to do with this information. I realize that I will never tell Beatrice the truth. I must keep her with me, I must choose to go against my Abnegation roots and be selfish.

"Tobias?" Zeke breathlessly calls my name from the outside of my tent. When I don't respond he replies, "It's urgent, dude."

I rub my eyes. "Fine, come in."

I'm stunned for the second time in one day. Zeke is tightly clutching the arm of a small female soldier. Standing in front of me with her blonde hair tightly wrapped in a bun, eyes wide with guilt, and her lip chewed thoroughly is the biological daughter of The Determinant. My adoptive daughter who has taken matters of her safety into her own hands and joined my army.

"Bee?!"

So a lot of stuff kind of happened. Bee has snuck on a truck to join Tobias' forces to defeat The Determinant. Little does she know that she's actually The Determinant's daughter. Wowza. Leave a review! xxxx
