Sorry for the wait, and not updating for ages. Been a busy life lately with college. Finally, I can go back to my writing.

That same night while Naruto and Sasuke shared a room in an inn after dealing with a small D mission. After helping in a garden close to their village the client that hired them, let them stay at his inn with no charge. It was the least he could do to repay them.

Naruto was getting ready for bed as he was brushing his teeth and combing his hair after a dip in the bathhouse. He looked at the reflection in the mirror, looking at the whiskers starring back at him. Thinking back on his childhood, 'One day I will show them,' he thought to himself.

He heard a knock on the door, "Hurry up Dobe I need to..." his teammate did not finish the sentence as the bathroom door swung open. He was waiting for Naruto to shout back at him or least give him another one of his famous insults. The blonde looked away, moving past the dark teen, 'Is he still angry?' Sasuke wondered as he watched his blonde teammate quickly get under his cover, facing the wall. He thought back to how he handled his comrade today while he was using the loo. Maybe he went too far this time. The hyperactive teen had not said one thing to him. This made Sasuke frown as he brushed his own teeth and getting his night clothes on.

Sasuke was alone most of his life after the incident happened, had no one and no one he cared for really all he cared for is to reach his goal to catch up to his brother. Until he was put on team 7. Since the blonde knucklehead came into his life things had changed for him. His heart stirred again from his dark, cold, loneliness place. It stirred because the blonde was there. And when Naruto was mad at him, he would tell him to his face but this time it was different. The blonde just decided to ignore Sasuke throughout the mission since this morning.

Sasuke inwardly sighed as he made his way to his own bed, sitting on the edge, facing Naruto's back, "Hey..." he slowly said, "sorry," there was silence in the other bed, but if you look closely at Naruto's face, he was still awake. He was shocked at first for Sasuke apologizing but kept his heart calm, deciding to listen to him, "it is just that..." this was hard on the dark teen since he never was a sociable person which is one reason, he fights with Naruto. That and Naruto being jealous over him which he hated him the most for, "you constantly making me angry and annoyed," Naruto figured that already, "and last night...you said my brother's name which is forbidden to speak in front of me."

Naruto rolls over, looking Sasuke in the face, "Sasuke you know how I am with rules and orders. I never follow them and never will."

This made Sasuke's eyes twitch, "This is why you are a dead last aren't you?"

Naruto gritted his teeth at that, "I am not a dead last!" he shouts across the room, he had enough of people looking down on him, "I am a human being," he spoke softly, "got that? The last thing I need right now is having people tell me I am a freak, a loser, a dead last, I had enough of that. I have been hated all my life and for what? Because I have the stupid demon inside me!" Naruto's eyes went wide as he realized what he just said, cupping his mouth.

"What are you talking about Los..." best not to get the blonde even angrier at him, "Naruto what do mean by the demon inside you?"

Naruto sighed as he thought about to tell his teammate this, not knowing how he will react, "Remember that fight with Gaara?" he first started out, Sasuke nodded, clutching his curse mark of the memory of that day, "he is a jinchuuriki being the host of the one tail," he spoke softly, "please do not tell anyone about my darkest secret ok? Not even Sakura," Sasuke nodded, knowing full well when to keep a secret, having his own dark secret to carry in him as well, "OK...the thing is..." he breathed out, "I am the nine tail's host," he said, seeing Sasuke's expression made hide under the covers, "now you know the truth about me. If you fear me now, then might as well share a room with Kakashi Sensei instead."

He felt a lump on his bed, "I do not fear you Naruto," his teammate spoke in a soft tone, one that is so rare to hear from the last Uchiha "and I didn't mean for you to think I hated you because you have the nine tails. I hate you for a whole different purpose."

Naruto took the covers off his face, confused about why his comrade hates him the most and still be still on the blonde's bed after he told him why people have hated him. Not to mention back at The Country of Waves he wanted to give his life to save his. "Why do you hate me then? I do not understand. What could possibly hate? Look me in the eyes and tell me. After all, you are my teammate and if you hate me then there is no reason for me to stay in this team, right?" Sasuke gasped at that," it is ok, after all, we have not been a team much after Kakashi was training you separately and I had Pervy Sage. All I want to know is why do you hate me that is all I ask for?"

Sasuke looked down at the bed, gripping the sheets, "I hated you, I really hated you," his words were the exact same words from when they had battled Haku, this surprised Naruto, "but I never hated you in peculiar, I hated that you were jealous of me. That you wanted to be my rival when I did nothing wrong, to begin with," Naruto listened to his teammate's words. This is a first time ever that Sasuke would open up to him and he did not want to ruin it by saying something stupid, "we both are the same Naruto, we both are alone and do not have any family. Only mine was..." he gritted his teeth, as he quietly said, "murdered by my own brother," Naruto met Itachi when he tried to kidnap him while he was on a mission with Jiraiya, "I hate having to protect someone who is an idiot," Naruto wanted to snap but held his cool, "I hate that you have gotten stronger than me," the blonde gasped, 'Did he just acknowledged my strength?' "We were getting stronger together you idiot and then you left me behind," he gripped the sheets till his knuckles were turning whiter than his usual skin color, "no wonder why...I decided..." he shut his eyes tightly, Uchihas' supposed to keep their emotions locked away, what would his father think, "to start hating my best friend."

Naruto was shocked at this, he never knew what it meant to have a friend. He was alone most of his childhood and even when he tried to make friends, they would call him a freak. That no one wanted to hang out with him. Even in Team 7. Right after a mission Sakura would ask Sasuke for a date, he rejects her and heads home to do some training, and in return, Naruto reaches out to Sakura to see if she wanted to have a bite to eat with him and in return, she would say no. He was not asking for a date or anything he wanted to just hang out with her. In the end, they left him alone in return. All he ever wanted was for his team to accept him for who he was. Naruto looked up at Sasuke, "Sasuke..." he put his hand on his friend, "you have always been my most precious person." He remembered the words that Haku told him. About getting stronger for the person you care for the most. Naruto put his arms around his fallen teammate, knowing that Sasuke needed him the most right now. In fact, he needed him since they became part of Team 7. 'How can I not see that?' "this is the first time you told me I was your friend," he spoke softly, his head resting on the raven-haired head, "I did not mean to leave you behind Teme. I was so focused on becoming the Hokage and having people acknowledge me for who I am and not what I have, I am sorry Sasuke." Sasuke figured he was talking about the nine tails. He was not crying, not shedding a single tear. That much he was able to keep together and composed.

The comforting from the blonde and the words he spoke made Sasuke smile, a bit, but just a bit, "Hn, idiot," he got up from the bed and climbed into his own. He had a thought run through his mind before drifting to sleep, "Let's train together when we get back?"

Naruto looked over at Sasuke in shock, he had never once since they became a team asks the blonde to join him for training by his house. This made the blonde teen grin big. Maybe finally he can get his teammate and best friend to open up on what happened on the Mission with Kakashi Sensei? 'I doubt that though,' still, he will give it a try. Believe it!
