Winter break eventually came to an end and Rachel had to go back to school, along with all her friends.

Even if everyone was filling her head with their wonderful family holiday tales and asking her about her time with Klaus and what she got for Christmas, Rachel couldn't keep out of her head that something was weird about Stefan and Elena.

She remembered her uncle's reaction when she ran into him at the Mall while shopping for gifts and the thought that Elena and Katherine might have some kind of mind controlling power over him crossed her mind. Okay, not only did it cross her mind but it was all she could think about when she watched her uncle following Elena around like a lost puppy and doing almost everything she said.

The doppelganger was acting like more of a brat than usual and Stefan and Bonnie were the only ones who were still talking to her nowadays. Even her own brother was ignoring her as much as possible.

"You're okay Rach?" Rebekah and Santana asked her on their 5th day back, at lunch.

"I think I'm going to research the Petrova name..." She replied, her eyes on her uncle as he stood to go get the bottle of soda Elena just asked him to get her.

"Worried about Stefan?" Rebekah asked her.

"Yes... He just looks like she's controlling him... When you look carefully sometimes it looks like he wants to fight it and say no but it never lasts..." Rachel replied.

"Yeah, those doppelgangers seem to have a way with boys." Santana added.

"I agree with you... Plus, everyone who was at the mayor's party saw Elena and Matt making out, Stefan has to have heard about it and he didn't do anything... I know he's all for giving second chances and forgiving people but still... This is going too far." Rebekah noted.

"Where do you think you'll start you researches?" Santana asked Rachel as Caroline, who had heard their conversation, was coming over to give her 2 cents.

"I think I'll ask Alaric if I can look through his ex wife's researches. There's also internet, I might find something there... Maybe Elijah will be capable of helping me with this, or Klaus... If I really don't find anything I'll ask for an answer from spirits but I'd like to do this without using magic. If I use magic, Bonnie could hear about it and inform them of what I'm doing..." Rachel explained as Caroline took a seat with them and put her tray on the table.

"I agree with you... We've been getting closer lately and he really seems lost, like he's fighting with himself but this time it's not for control over his bloodlust..." Caroline explained.

"Well, we'll see what I can find... I think it's not going to be easy..." Rachel said.

"So, on to another brighter subject. What do you think we should sing this week in Glee?" Santana asked, changing the subject.

On the other side of the cafeteria, Stefan had heard the entire conversation too and was deep in thought. He had found out that the mysterious caller Jeremy told him about was in fact Katherine... What did she have to do with Elena?

He figured that he should hang around a little longer to try and figure it out. He also wondered why half of him was very happy to stay around Elena, even though she had cheated on him and was behaving like a spoil brat in need of a spanking.

While Rachel was eating lunch and worrying about her uncle, Klaus had just opened his door to a couple of his hybrid who were supposed to be disposing of his father's body. It had been a few months and he thought that it was done and they had gone back to their lives...

They looked guilty and he immediately prepared for the worst. Maybe Mickeal hadn't been completely killed, maybe he had risen and was coming back after him...

"What is it?" He barked at them a little harsher than he intended to. He didn't miss their wince and even guiltier look.

"We ran into a little problem with Mickeal's body..." One of them started to say in a voice so low you'd think he was trying to un-say what he just said.

"What? What kind of problem?" Klaus asked, looking furious.

"We...hum... I don't know how it happened, how it's possible but...We kind of lost it..." The other hybrid confessed.

I know it's mean to leave you hanging here but come on, I don't do this very often...almost never in fact!
