Rachel hadn't come out of Klaus' room in 2 weeks and they couldn't convince her to feed. All they could do is watch her waste away and not being able to do anything against it. They had tried to force blood in her but she had cast a shield all around her and they weren't even able to enter Klaus' bedroom now, all they could do is watch from the door and try to talk some sense into her.
Rachel looked terrible. Aside from her now always red eyes, she had lost a lot of weight and had only the skin on her bones and deep shadows under her eyes. Her once beautiful shiny hair was now messy and not shining. Her skin was also as pale as the dead. It was like watching a dead body cry.
They had news from everyone and decided not to tell Rachel anything. Damon and Stefan had found Katherine and warned everybody as soon as they could. They knew they had no chance of winning alone against her, her witch and her 4 sired vampires so they simply did their best to delay them without being sighted until the others could join them and help them get Klaus back.

Damon and Stefan where happy that everyone could join them quickly. They had a plan. Katherine and her team were resting in an abandoned cabin in an isolated area and it was perfect.
While she was sleeping, on top of Klaus' coffin (which angered Elijah a lot), the witch and the vampires were patrolling.
Tyler and his group of hybrid's mission was to destroy the witch. She tried defending herself but she wasn't strong enough to incapacitate them all at the same time and eventually, her neck was broken and she was brought back inside.
While Tyler took care of the witch, Elijah, Damon, Stefan, Kol, Sage and Finn quickly got rid of the 4 love sick vampires. They put up quite a fight but they were outnumbered and ended up missing their head and their hearts.
Katherine had woken up of course but she couldn't find any way out. The cabin was surrounded by hybrids and the originals surrounded her inside the house. She didn't know what to do, she had never seen any of them this angry and she felt like she wouldn't live long enough to say a classy last word.
"You shouldn't have gone against my daughter Katherine... I would have stayed out of it... But you decided to hurt Rachel and kill Klaus..." Damon shook his head.
"You're dead." Elijah added before he reached for her in one quick move and pushed his hand through her chest.

Katherine felt him wrap his hand around her heart and she was about to open her mouth to say something when she found herself standing up behind him.
"What's going on?" She asked but nobody answered her.
She looked around and saw her body dead on the floor. That's when she understood that she was dead and on the other side. She was happy because it meant that she was finally free and wouldn't have to run or hide anymore.
"Nice to see you again Katherine. Time to pay for what you did to us." She heard.
She turned around to see Pearl, Anna and most of the tomb vampires standing there, looking vengeful. She was in trouble.
"Oh shit." She said before she ran as fast as she could.

As soon as Elijah killed Katherine, they opened the coffin, broke the chains Klaus was in and Tyler brought the witch to him. They ripped her neck, opened Klaus' mouth and watched as the blood dripped in his mouth and slowly revived him.
"I just called Rebekah... Rachel has a shield up and she hasn't fed at all since we left...She hadn't fed in about 12 hours when this happened..." Damon announced as Klaus slowly sat up.
"I can't feel her anymore... She probably can't feel me either...our link has been severed, it will have to be reformed." Klaus announced as he tried to stand up.
"We'll find you some more blood on the way." Kol informed his big brother as he helped him up.
"No, I'll feed after I've seen Rachel... I just... I need to see her as soon as possible... We can't waist any time." Klaus replied, worried for his love.
"I think that's what she needs too." Damon nodded.
"Finn and I will stay behind and clean up around here. We'll join you later." Sage told them.
They nodded and rushed to the cars to leave and drive back to Mystic Fall's.

Rachel wasn't listening to what Rebekah and Santana were telling her, she was just too sad, her pain was too much and paying attention used too much energy, energy that she didn't have anymore. She knew that something was going on because they were both very excited but she shut them out and went back to wrapping herself in Klaus' blankets, trying to convince herself that his scent was still there.
Her pain was too much, she felt like it was burning her, about to make her explode and all she wanted was to turn it off. Before she did this, she decided to try and sing her pain away. Weakly, she got out of the bed, Klaus' blanket still wrapped around her shoulders like a cape, or a hug from her dead love, she went to his computer and turned it on. She knew that the password was her name and that his screensaver was a picture of them but seeing him there, smiling made her cry again. She double clicked on the Internet icon and after a few minutes of typing and searching, she found an instrumental version of Cry, the song she was planning on singing to let her pain escape.

Just as Rachel pressed on 'Play', Klaus and everyone else came back and entered the house.
"How is she?" Klaus asked his sister as she hugged him, happy to see him alive.
"She's getting ready to sing something... She's trying to resist turning her emotions off." Rebekah replied.
Klaus nodded and climbed the steps at the same time Rachel started singing in a voice he couldn't help but find weaker than usual.
If anyone asks,
Klaus was on the first step when she started singing this verse and she didn't know it. For the past few days, Rachel had been shutting out any noise coming from the rest of the house, unwilling to hear what Rebekah and Santana would come up with to get her to leave the house.
I'll tell them we both just moved on

I'll pretend that I don't hear them talk
Klaus was now in front of his door and he was afraid her shield would shut him out but he was able to step through. He thought about interrupting her song but he felt that she needed it so he stayed in the doorway and watched as she sang her pain out. The fact that she didn't feel him behind her showed him once more just how weak she was now.
Whenever I see you,
"I'll warm them both a few blood bags and bring them up." Rebekah announced.
I'll swallow my pride
"I'll cook them something solid too. Maybe some pancakes and eggs." Damon added, knowing that his daughter also needed human food, especially if she had been starving herself for two weeks.
And bite my tongue
Pretend I'm okay with it all
Elijah was happy to know that his brother was fine again but he couldn't help but wonder if Rachel had been right when she accused him of wanting to be the head of his family. Of course he wanted to see his family happy and united. Being the eldest should make him head of his family now that Mickeal is dead right? Was he jealous that Klaus obviously got that leading part? Did Rachel see something in him that he didn't or was it her pain talking? Maybe a part of him wanted to be rid of Klaus to finally be rid of the problems that came with him... He felt like he needed to think about it for a while and left everyone to go to his room and rest.
Act like there's nothing wrong
Stefan told everyone that he was going to see Caroline. The blond vampire had spent the past 2 weeks by Elena and Bonnie's side, trying to get them to see reason as soon as they had woken up. Almost dying had really shaken them up and they were starting to see that what they did was wrong. They had been informed of the magic Rachel did on them and they had both been through a very serious talk with their families. Bonnie was going to move away with her parents. Abby had explained everything to Bonnie's father who had agreed that leaving Mystic Fall's and bringing his daughter away from Elena Gilbert would be for the best. Stefan simply wanted to see Caroline and be brought up to date...maybe finally enjoy officially taking her out too.
Is it over yet?
Rachel was on her knees and her pain and sadness could be heard through the entire house. It even brought tears in Klaus' eyes. Also the hybrid couldn't deny that it warmed his heart to know that someone cared this much for him.
Can I open my eyes ?
Rachel was on the floor, Klaus' blanket wrapped around her shoulders and she was crying with her eyes closed. It seemed that her left over energy was completely going in her voice, it was like she couldn't do anything else at the same time.
Is this as hard as it gets?
Silently, Klaus prayed that it was the only and last time he would ever have to see Rachel so sad. He hated it and would rather die himself than see her in anymore pain.
Is this what it feels like to really cry ?
Cry
Downstairs, in the kitchen, Damon was crying for his daughter. He knew that she would be happy again as soon as Klaus managed to get through to her but he hated knowing that she was in so much pain. He was her father and he felt like he had failed her, like he wasn't a good father if he couldn't protect her from his kind of pain.
If anyone asks,
I'll tell them we just grew apart
"It's not your fault Damon... She'll be fine in no time and she'll tell you herself that it's not your fault." Rebekah told Damon as she wrapped her arms around him comfortingly from behind.
Yeah what do I care
If they believe me or not
"Thank you for being there Rebekah... I don't know what I would have done without you... I could only leave knowing you and Santana were with her... It's the only way I could go after the bitch..." He told her, turning around and concluding his little speech by a hot kiss.
Whenever I feel
"You're welcome. I love you Damon." She replied.
Your memory is breaking my heart
"I love you too Rebekah. I truly do." He told her before he kissed her one more time and they went back to kissing.

Act like there's nothing wrong
Kol felt like an intruder all of the sudden and decided to go see how Jeremy was doing. The human was his only friend and he really enjoyed spending time with him. He hoped he wasn't too mad at vampires and witches for what happened to his sister/cousin.
Is it over yet?
Klaus was asking himself the same question. Seeing Rachel in so much pain was unbearable but he couldn't bring himself to interrupt her song.
Can I open my eyes?

Is this what it feels like to really cry?
Cry
Klaus knew that Rachel felt it the moment he started desiccating, he knew that it had severed their soul mate connection, the one they had never spoken about but that they had both felt. He could only imagine the pain it had brought her. He hoped this was something that could be fixed or he'd have to find a way to bring Katherine back just so he could kill her again himself.
I'm talking in circles
I'm lying, they know it
Why won't this just all go away

Cry
Right when she hit the last note, Klaus walked toward her and before he could wrap her in his arm he said:
"I'm here Love. I promise you I won't let anyone separate us ever again."
Rachel closed back the eyes she had just reopened and begged:
"Please don't go away... I don't care if you're an hallucination...I need you...Real or not..."
"I'm real Love. Your father and my family found me in time." Klaus replied as he walked around her and got on his knees in front of her, putting his hand on her cheeks.
It seemed to take Rachel a few minutes for the reality of the situation to reach her brain but when she did, she jumped in Klaus' real arms and hugged him as hard as he now very weak arms could.
"I felt dead without you... It was like there was a hole in my heart that was burning my soul away slowly..." She whispered as he hugged her as hard as he could without hurting her.
"I'm here now... I'm sorry you had to go through it... I'm not leaving. I'm here..." He said as he carried her to the bed and lay by her side.
He hated that she was so tiny, so easy to carry. She looked half dead and he hated it.
Damon arrived in the door way and was able to step through. Rachel weakly looked up and smiled at her father before she put her head back on Klaus' chest.
"I brought some blood and food. You both need to get your strengths back. I'll put it right here. You drink, eat and sleep for a while. We'll have a big party to celebrate our victory in a few days." Damon told them before he put the tray on a table beside the bed and left the room, closing the door behind him and showing Klaus that he trusted him with his daughter.
"I love you Klaus."
"I love you too Rachel, more than you'll ever know." Klaus whispered back to her before he kissed her.
The minute their lips touched it was like they could both breeze again. Their soul mate link was back. They could feel each other again. They were one once more.
"That's better." Rachel said before she closed her eyes.
So they won and everything is right once more... You can't be surprised... It's just how I do things, right?
