Rachel knew that Shane had to pay for what he had done so she went to see the sheriff along with Klaus the day after the explosion and told her everything she knew about the events, which wasn't much but could still help.
"Well, I would be happy to arrest him but in order to do that I need a little more evidence." Liz replied when Rachel was done telling her story.
"And we need to find them quickly because Damon and Rebekah won't wait much longer... If he's not in jail by tomorrow at the latest, they'll take matter into their own hands and it won't be pretty." Klaus added.
"Can't we fake some evidence of him buying explosives?" Rachel innocently asked.
"Before we fake anything we should try and find the real evidences... I'll put my deputies on it and go arrest him now. I can at least hold him for a while and get a warrant to search his house and his office." Liz suggested.
"What do you need us to do?" Klaus asked her.
"Nothing, I've got it covered. You should go back to your daily activities. I'll call if I need anything." Liz replied before they left her office and went back to the house.

Shane was pretty proud of himself. The first sacrifice had been done and Bonnie had managed to light a candle.
"How can I do it though? I thought Rachel had taken away all of my magic yet here I am..." Bonnie asked him.
"What she did is take away your usual powers, the ones you and every witch use easily. She can't take magic away from your DNA though. Expressionism is a kind of magic that anyone can use, as long as they have traces, even faint, of magic in them." Shane explained, leaving out the part where people had to die for her to use it.
"So Rachel couldn't take it completely away from me then... Did she know that?"
"I'm pretty sure she did. She's smart and powerful. I'm sure she knew that she could never take magic completely away from you... The only way to do that would be to change you into a vampire and she's a good person, she wouldn't do that against your will." Shane explained to her.
Bonnie nodded and looked back to the candles, concentrating as hard as she could. Her grandmother and her parents thought that she was studying at the library and they had no idea of what she was going to be capable of. They would regret siding with Rachel against her.
Shane was about to compliment Bonnie on her hard work when Sheriff Forbes and a couple of her deputies walked in his office and arrested him. They obviously had a warrant to search his office and he just knew that Rachel had something to do with it. She had managed to link him to the explosion... he was screwed.
"Bonnie, I suggest you wait here, you're grandmother is on her way." Liz told her daughter's old friend while her deputies searched the office.
"What? Why? What's going on?" Bonnie asked, lost.
She didn't know or understand why they were arresting Shane and speaking of explosions and murder but she didn't have time to think about it too hard or to hear Shane yelling at her to keep on practicing because her grandmother arrived and blew some herbs on her face, making her fall asleep right away.
"Thank you for the warning sheriff. I'll take her home and work with her mother on deprogramming her." Sheila nodded to the good sheriff before she carried, with the help of her TA, her granddaughter to her car.
"It's Rachel you should thank. She's the one who gave us the lead and guessed that Shane would try to use Bonnie since he couldn't have her." Liz replied.
"Yes, Rachel always has her heart in the right place and her brain on the right track." Sheila replied before she left.

Hailey was fuming. She was about to go visit Shane and see what the next course of action should be when she saw him being pulled into a police car. She discretely tried to go check out his office, see if he left anything behind for her but the deputies were still inside, searching every inch of it. Since he couldn't give her any more instructions, she knew that she had to find a way to get her answers anyway. She had come here in hopes that Shane would tell her what he knew about her birth parents and now he was in jail...
Who else could she turn to?
Suddenly, the answer was obvious. She needed to get someone on her side...Someone with power and money, someone like Tyler Lockwood or Klaus Mickealson, or both.
.
Klaus had been concerned about his big brother lately, especially the fact that he had gotten over the doppelgangers only to get closer to Rachel. He was about to go and find him to have an explanation when he happened to find his brother's journal. So, okay, maybe he had looked a bit for it...For 3 hours... But the fact was that now it was, somehow (okay, so, maybe he had opened it) opened in front of him and that there was nothing here but friendship and gratefulness for Rachel reassured him a bit.
Elijah wasn't having feelings for her, he was simply grateful because she opend his eyes and helped him move on. He considered her as a sister.
Klaus smiled, put the journal back in its rightful place and left his brother's office to go and pick up Rachel from school. He had been silly to even get worried. Elijah had morals, he would never do this to him, especially now.
As he waited for Rachel to leave school, Klaus couldn't help but let his mind wonder back to when he had been brought back after his desiccated state, back when Rachel had spend several days in his arms. Their bond was stronger than ever now and he knew, he could feel, that his lovely girlfriend was having a hard time staying away from him. He could feel that she was just as frustrated as he was and it was very hard for him to stay away from her but he had to wait until she was ready, until she told him and showed some obvious sign that she wanted it. Until then, well, it was just him, his hand, and his imagination.
He knew it the minute Rachel exited the school, a wide smile o her face when she saw him and her small skirt moving around her in ways that made Klaus think that the ride home would be harder than he thought. As soon as she reached him, he brought her in his arms and crashed his lips against hers, pressing his entire body against her own, as they always did lately.
They made out for a while, against his car, until someone wolf whistle and they separated.
"Someone has been missing me." Rachel smiled.
"Oh, you have no idea love. The days are way too long until I can see you again." He replied, kissing her one more time.
"I know... I can't wait for graduation so we can spend all the time together." She told him, smiling in a way that told him that when summer came, the weather wouldn't be the only hot one around.
It was Rachel's way of informing him that they would finally have sex, he just knew it. He knew her well enough to understand everything she meant, even if she didn't say it clearly.
