A/N: This isn't the second part to the previous chapter and I'm so sorry about that. It's terribly long and not finished, and needs a shit ton of editing and I haven't had the time to clean it up. I think I might post it as its own story because of the length that I have it lol... so when I finally get to part 2, it won't be with these one shots, okay? And today was my last day of school hallelujah! And I'm not going for summer, fuck that. So I have more time to write yay :)
Anyways, I really like Cold Excalibur. And this came to me quick so I had to do it lol. The song is by Mr. Sexy himself, Justin Timberlake's What Goes Around/Comes Back Around. I love this song for sho like, everything about it. And I love Justin (the cool, sexy Justin, not the Bieber one lol ick) with his sexy self. Oh yasss. Anyways. As I said Alpha/Omega part 2 will go up as its own and it will be up very soon and it will be very long... v.v I'm sorry.
If anyone has requests I would love to hear them. I won't promise you that it will done in a jiffy but it's always fun to write an idea someone has thought of. Alpha/Omega is for 80TakeshITsunA27 who has been really patient with me.
The studio was full of the mystic music tangling in the air and Natsu couldn't help but bob his head up and down in time with the smooth melody. The body guard was leaning against the back wall of the small comfy room, his dark eyes focused on the four musicians standing behind the glass wall. The room the four stood in one small but they were comfortable huddling in one another's space. Besides, there was only two mics in the room so they paired up in twos sharing each one. Besides Natsu, there was Mirajane who sat in one of the plush chairs placed before the producer's desk and occupying the one in the center was Taurus King, a famous producer and older brother to Loke. Taurus was sitting on the edge of his chair with a victorious smirk on his lips as his raven colored eyes stared at the band on the other side of the glass. On the other side of him was Erza who was smiling and feeling a swell of pride for the band. They had made another hit song and was cleaning it up before they released it as a single.
Gray and Loke wrote this song together and split it in two parts even though altogether the length of it is over seven minutes long. Unlike their previous single, Cold, this song was their perspective on heart break instead of being the to cause the heart break. The first section which was about five minutes was mellow and smooth and then it trailed into the second section in a more upbeat fashion with a dash of spice to it. Gray explained that the first part of the song was like someone mourning after a break up so it was slow while the second part was them getting over the person. Loke added onto the second part seeing how it was him who wove most of the lyrics since they were based on his past relationship. His ex cheated on him and left him for the person he was cheating Loke on with but then the person cheated on the ex which amused Loke. "It's a heart break song that turns into a 'Karma is a bitch' kind of song, ya know?"
Natsu crossed his arms acroos his chest and stared at the singers, his dark onyx eyes setting on Loke when Loke started saying, "Yup... yup... yup." Natsu's eyes flitted off Loke's swaying figure to Gray who stood beside Loke.
As Loke continued with his 'yup' Gray began singing over him. "Let me paint this picture for you baby~ Uh, you spend your nights alone and he never comes home~" The music swirled together before dropping into a jazzy beat. Loke and Gray stood in between Gajeel and Lyon who both started to beat box in time with the melody. As they did, the four of thim began to bounce from side to side in sycn with each other as Gray continued to sing. "And every time you call him all you get's a busy tone~ I heard you found out that he's doing to you what you did to me, ain't that the way it goes~ When you cheated girl my heart bleeded girl, so it goes without saying that you left me feeling hurt~ Just a classic case, a scenario~ ", Gray stuttered on 'scenario', "Tale as old as time girl you got what you deserved~"
The music twisted around once more, dropping further in a prominent beat that edged the singers to sway their movements deeper. Loke joined in with Gray while Lyon and Gajeel joined the background singing, "Ay... ay... ay..."
Gray and Loke sang over them. "And now you want somebody to cure the lonely nights~ You wish you had somebody to come and make it right~ But girl I ain't somebody with a lot of sympathy you'll see~ (Loke- "See see)".
Gajeel broke off from Lyon and drawled in a deep, husky voice, "What goes around comes back around~"
Loke dropped from singing wih Gray and let Gray go solo. "I thought I told ya, hey hey~ (Gajeel- "What goes around comes back around~)". Loke begain harmonizing in the background, singing "Oh oh~" as Gray and Gajeel continued. Natsu closed his eyes and allowed Gray's voice to wash over him like a quilt, a beautiful soft quilt. Seven months with this band and he still can't get over how amazing artists they are.
"I thought I told ya, hey~" Gray sang and Gajeel's voice laced under his with, "Take it to 'em ay ay ay~"
Loke continued to echo in the background and Lyon joined Gajeel again with 'ay ay ay', and Gray chuckled into the mic. "See?," Gray looked through the glass, cobalt eyes twinkling, "you should've listened to me baby."
Gajeel's and Lyon's voices filled the room as a duo for a few seconds before Gray and Loke joined in, the four of them singing, "Ay ay ay ay~"
"Because?" Loke quipped against the mic and Gajeel and Lyon answered, "What goes around comes back around~"
Gray chuckled bitterly against the mic, his lips close to brushing Loke's. While Loke continued singing 'Oh' and Gajeel and Lyon with their parts, Gray closed his eyes and tipped his head to the side while singing, "Oh oh oh oh~ Ah ah ah ahhh~" the last note danced beautifully in the air without a crack; it was smooth, clean and had Natsu melting. Gray's voice was the language of angels.
When the music died down, Gray's voice was the only sound echoing in the room before everything fell silent. Taurus fiddled with the key pads in front of him and pressed the button that allowed him to talk to them through the glass.
"Killed it." he jeered with a pleased smirk. Mirajane clapped happily while Erza stood up from her seat, her pose relaxed. Gajeel was the first to leave the booth followed by Lyon, Loke, then Gray. Natsu pushed himself off the wall and straightened out his uniform. Uniform was a light description on what he wore which was black jeans, a black shirt, a black jacket, and black boots covering his feet. There was no yellow jackets or blue uniforms that gave way what he was. He liked to be simple, dress simple, and comfortable.
Mirajane squealed and hugged Gajeel who was the first one she could reach. "Gah." the spiky haired drummer grumped but allowed his manager her celebration. Scorpio fist bumped his little brother and they both wore the same feral like grins.
"You're on fire." Taurus told Loke who shrugged, his feral grin forming into a pleased smile.
"The juices have been flowing lately."
The door to the small room opened and the rest of the body guards trickled in, a dark haired male leading the way. Pantherlily was the last one Natsu met when he first started this job. The guy looked like he could snap two necks at once and his face was always apathetic and cold, but once Natsu got to know him it turns out Pantherlily is just a socialy awkward individual. However, he seems to be quite attatched to Gajeel. At the moment Pantherlily's dark eyes were locked on the drummer who Mirajane was still hugging. Amusement filled his black abyss orbs before he was nudged out the way by Scorpio.
Meanwhile, Gray had gravitated towards Natsu when the pinkette was coming up to congratulate them as a group. But no. Gray decided to keep Natsu to himself, smothering his body guard with his limbs. Natsu's face pressed against the singer's shoulder. "Do you mind." Natsu was saying when Mirajane let go of Gajeel finally and went to give the same treatment to Lyon.
Elfman was the last to enter the room but stopped in the doorway, the occupants inside were an amusing bunch in his sights. Taurus was trying to give himself a death wish by flirting with Erza while Mirajane had Lyon in her tight clutches. Gajeel and Pantherlily stood to the side not bothering to help and Loke was sprawled on the sofa against the back wall, small satisfying snores leaving his slumbering body while Scorpio decided to sharpie the sleeping artist's face. Then there was Natsu and Gray. As usual the lead singer to Cold Excalibur was stuck on glue to his personal body guard while said personal body guard tried to peel him off.
Natsu huffed, not able to free himself from Gray's heavy arms that were wrapped tightly around his neck. Even though he couldn't move, Natsu's body was slowly sinking backwards from the weight Gray pushed against him. "You're such a child," Natsu murmured, rolling his eyes. However, a ghost of a smile flitted across his lips. Seven months of dealing with clingy Gray should have drove him crazy by now but Natsu has found comfort in the singer's smothering embrace. Gray always smelled so damn good, like the fresh, cold breeze on a winter's night. A hint of evergreen mint stuck to him naturally and Natsu, although he'd never admit it, would happily suffocate in Gray's scent. Within the passing months, Natsu has actually grown close with the band and even closer with Gray. And even though he fusses with Gray for abusing his personal space, Natsu secretly enjoys the attention, the physicality Gray gives him. Natsu heard Gray inhale softly but deeply. Forcing down the warmth threatening to spread across his cheeks, Natsu finally shoved at Gray's chest. "Honestly."
The singer pulled back, dropping his arms and Natsu put on his stony face just in time before those intense wintery blue eyes locked onto him. Badump. Stupid heart. Gray closed his eyes when Natsu flicked his forehead. "You know what I'm going to do? Take your ass to build a bear so you can make one and smother it instead of me." Natsu proclaimed and moved away from the pouting singer.
"Why bother when you're the perfect build a bear?"
Natsu bristled and whipped back around. "I ain't like one!"
This time Gray walked by, smirking, and tweaked Natsu's cheek. "You're squishy like one," he teased and got his hand slapped away. Unperturbed, Gray sauntered away and passed Elfman who still stood in the doorway. "I'm hungry." the singer announced before the head of the body guards could ask him where he was going.
Mirajane clapped her hands just as Erza knocked Taurus down with a lethal fist. "Oh!"
"He's fine." Erza deadpanned so Mirajane nodded and continued.
"Let's all go out to eat as a celebration!" the manager squealed in delight.
And that's how Natsu found himself tucked against Gray's side as Elfman drove the van to the chosen restaurant they agreed to dine at. Erza and Taurus couldn't come but the rest of the group was present. Natsu sighed and tried not to react to the heat of Gray's long arm that was laced around his waist. Badump badump.
Stupid heart.
