They quickly got ready, packed what they needed and after Rachel bewitched the GPS so it would follow Shane, they all jumped in the small plane Klaus had reserved and they were on their way.

Once they arrived on the Island, there was nothing much to do beside walk and be careful not to get caught by one of the many traps lying ahead. For this reason, Elijah and Kol were scouting ahead and Klaus always walked right before Rachel, making sure his love was safe from anything that could hurt her.

They were halfway there and had decided to camp for the night. The journey hadn't been easy so far. Not only was it raining on and off but the forest they were crossing was filled with tramps of all sorts. Hadn't they been vampires, Elijah and Kol would have been long dead by now and so would have Klaus.

They slept through the night, taking shift to keep watch and when morning came, they started to follow the GPS once more. Shane had also stopped for the night so he wasn't too far ahead.

At some point, they got confronted by a hunter. They knew that they couldn't kill him so they simply tried to keep him still until Rachel managed to do to him what she had done to Connor or simply to tie him up but when he tried to shoot an arrow at the young hybrid lady, her mate and boyfriend got mad and instinctively killed him.

"Oh no... Klaus..." Rachel exclaimed.

"It's okay... I've been haunted by them for over 62 years, I can deal with it." He reassured her.

"Don't worry, I can use my powers to keep the visions at bay for now. Once Silas is dead, the hunters will turn human again and there will be no need for them anymore so their curse will be cancelled." She told him, looking him in the eyes before she kissed him passionately.

Rachel knew that keeping the visions at bay to keep Klaus sane would take a lot out of her but she didn't have a choice, she felt responsible for his state and wanted to do her best so he didn't suffer, even if she ended up in a coma on the way back. It would be worth it, in her mind.

"Not that I don't enjoy seeing my daughter kissing her much older boyfriend but we should start walking again, we've been delayed enough." Damon interrupted.

"You're right Mate, let's go." Klaus nodded as he stood up and they all started walking again.

"It's not much further now." Rachel indicated as she told them the right way to go.

.

They walked for a few more hours until they arrived at the entrance of a cave. They walked in carefully, ready to fight and were surprised to see that it was already open all the way through.

"Careful, we don't know who is ahead of us." Klaus warned them.

They walked some more until they found Shane's body. His wrists were open and bleeding.

"Is he...dead?" Rachel asked in a small voice.

"Yes, he is." Damon confirmed after having checked it out.

"Let's be as quiet as possible, we don't want whoever did this to notice us." Elijah warned before they kept on walking, staying close to the stone wall until they reached a light part where they could see someone standing and moving.

Rachel muttered a spell to make them invisible temporarily and they decided to hide silently and watch what was going on.

.

Katherine smiled. Finally she was back in the real world of the living. She took a big breath and looked around. She was in a dark cave with very little light. Only a torch was allowing her to see what was around her. She was in front of Silas's desiccated body and knew what she had to do in order to win her freedom. She couldn't double cross the dead witch, she would die immediately.

Qetsiyah taught her absolutely everything she needed to know in order to convince Silas of who she was so all she had to do was do what she was told. First, she walked to Shane's body and cut his wrists. The witch had procured her with an ancient cup and Katherine used it to pour Shane's blood in it. Then she walked back to Silas and slowly poured the freshly collected blood in his mouth.

Slowly, the man's body started to move and he freed the wooden box from his iron hands. She grabbed it and opened the box. A small vial was inside and she knew what she had to do. She opened it and drank it all. As she drank, she felt her vampire strengths and super abilities leaving her but she didn't worry about it. She was turning back into a human but she didn't care. As soon as she did what was asked of her, she would turn back into a vampire and she'd be free.

She then cut her wrist and gave Silas more of her blood. He drank it on his own and stopped when he had had enough to move and look alive. He took off his iron mask and showed her the face she had been expecting: Stefan's face.

"What..." He started to say and she knew that now she had to do her best acting.

"Don't worry my Love, it's me, Amara... One of my doppelgangers found me and freed me from the fate Qetsiyah had reserved for me. I know she told you that I was dead but she died. I went to look for you as soon as I could... It's been so long my love, I miss you so much..." Katherine told him and she could see in his eyes that he was believing her.

"Where is she?" He asked her.

"On the other side... Don't worry, I drank the cure and so did you when you drank my blood. We're humans now and there is nothing she can do to us." She told him.

"I'm a witch Amara...I'll end up on the other side once I die." Silas told her worriedly.

"Don't worry, I've handled it all my love. The veil is down. Everything is taken care of. We have to act quickly if we don't want to end up with her again." She assured him.

Silas looked at her and she knew that he was about to ask her how she had taken care of it all and she knew that it would cost her everything if he did because she didn't have an answer for this.

Quickly, she moved to kiss him passionately, imagining it was Stefan to make it believable and since they had been apart for so long, he didn't resist and kissed her back. Once he was in her arms and close enough to her, she took in her right hand the knife Qetsiyah gave her and planted it in his back as hard as she could.

Silas pulled away and looked her in the eyes, betrayal on his face.

"Amara, love...why?" He asked her.

"I'm not Amara... Don't worry, you won't be alone on the other side, Qetsiyah is waiting for you... She can't wait to catch up with you." Katherine smirked before Silas fell on the floor, dead.

So, what do you think?

Do you like this story less? I've been getting less reviews for the last few chapters and wondered if there was a specific reason to it... Could you please tell me why? Is the story worst than before? Do you want me to change something? It's almost over now (only about 20 chapters I think) but I can still make it better if there is something that happened that you really didn't like...

Would you like Puck to come back in this story?

Review please,
