A/N: I kind of (I did) jipped this from an old story of mine so please don't sue me for kind of plagiarizing my own work lol. I switched it up but if any of had read my Cake ABC drabbles on AO3, On/Off is the original version. But I still wrote the original it's all mine so it's okay. XD
I'm having severe writer's block (if me using old stories for new didn't make that clear enough) so if you have anything, any ideas or something please tell meee and save my life. Let me tell you how forcing inspiration is the complete opposite result you were shooting for... plus I'm still extremely bummed over my lost documents. :( and it's late here so I apologize for my lack of intelligence right now. ._.
Natsu can't sleep. He's sitting upright in bed in the dark with the covers pooled around his hips and lost in his tsunami of thoughts. Gray is flat on their mattress asleep beside him with his head facing away and his long arms stretched out. Natsu shifts his eyes down to his sleeping boyfriend and frowns. How long will they last this time? They recently got back together after yet another heated fight, and all Natsu can think of is how long will the new found serenity last this time. The two of them have a habit of an intense on and off relationship and it's beginning to take a toll on him. Natsu loves Gray, he does. But something happened to them and he doesn't know what or why. They make up just as easy as they break up, but deep down Natsu fears that one of these days they might not get back together, that they'll stay off permanently. And that scares him. It makes the inside of his stomach knot up painfully and his eyes prickle. Gray groans and flips around so he's facing Natsu. "Babe?" he rasps out. Natsu slinks down and tangles himself around the raven. "I love you." he whispers, voice soft but heavy with emotion.
...Even if we fight, even if we say hateful things to each other. You're the only one for me, flaws and all... Gray blinks his eyes open and stares down at the top of a pink fluffy head. Natsu's nestled down against his chest, hands gripping his hips tightly. Dark cobalt eyes soften in the dark room. Natsu feels an arm curl around his waist and is tugged closer. "I love you too." Gray whispers back knowingly, voice just as heavy with emotion.
...I know. We're far from perfect and we drive each other crazy... but I love you too damn much. I'm in too deep and I love it. I love you, no matter what... Gray slid his hands up the plane of Natsu's back before wrapping them around the pinkette's neck, hugging him closer. Natsu laced his own arms around Gray's middle and threw a leg over his. With a soft kiss to his forehead from Gray's smooth lips, Natsu finally falls asleep.
