Outtake Mayu's Romance

There is a theory, that one world can consist of infinite dimensions, each dimension having its very own story. In this specific dimension, Kanade never existed, this dimension is about the love between a human and a Shadow who use to be human.

"Come on Yuzuru! This way! This way!" shouted the excited girl as she dragged Yuzuru by his sleeve and moved across the theme park.

"Mayu, we're supposed to be on patrol"

"Yeah, but we can still enjoy ourselves while we're here"

Unable to say no to the cute girl's expression, he went along with her to the roller coaster.

Yuzuru gripped the bar firmly with one hand and placed the other on top of Mayu's. He watched as her face turn slightly red.

"H-Hey Yuzuru…"

"I love your embarrassed expression"

"You better get me a sundae after this" Mayu demanded.

"Yeah, yeah" Yuzuru replied with a smile.

The coaster reached the top of the ramp and slid down in extremely high speeds. The couple screamed with joy.

As they left the exit for the ride, Mayu asked, "How was that?"

"I haven't been on those for ages" answered Yuzuru while he thought back on what he did when he arrived in this world.

"Man, you got to live your life more. You have the freedom to. I was always bound by The Master, so I couldn't do this kind stuff"

Yuzuru spotted the slight sadness on her face and held her hand firmly and began to walk towards the food district.

"Let's go get you your sundae" as he looked back, he saw her nod with happiness.

I wish I could see that smile a lot more.

Yuzuru placed the chocolate sundae in front of Mayu and sat opposite to her.

"Say, Yuzuru… I've always wanted to try this but…"

"Try what?"

Yuzuru noticed her spoon's positioning, held in mid-air right in front of him, on top of it was the scoop of sundae.

"Say ahhh…"

"Y-You sure about this Mayu?"

"Just hurry up before I pass out by embarrassment"

"R-Right"

Yuzuru's heart pounded as his mouth reached for the scoop.

"Ahhh!" the sudden sound of screams stopped their actions and turned their view to the issue.

Seven Shadows chased three girls down towards the food district. Mayu placed the spoon back into the sundae and stood up with Yuzuru.

The Shadow spotted them and changed their targets.

"Aww… we were so close. I'm so gonna destroy them!"

"Come now, let's take care of them, then we can continue"

"Yay! I agree, we should hurry up then" said Mayu and charged into battle, "NEO Skill: Hand Sonic version 1"

Yuzuru provided support fire with his Five-Seven while Mayu sliced through the first Shadow and leaped away to distance herself. Yuzuru successfully killed another two Shadows with his shots.

"Not bad, just as expected for my boyfriend"

"Haha. Don't underestimate me" just as he finished, a Shadow charged towards him.

"NEO Skill: Excalibur!"

Yuzuru defended the incoming slash from the Shadow and countered it, killing it instantly. Yuzuru joined the battle with Mayu and finished off the remaining three.

Yuzuru huffed and puffed then exclaimed, "Phew… that took longer than expected"

"Come on now, we need to continue what we started"

"Y-Yeah…"

The two returned to the table to see that the cold sundae they left was nothing more than warm liquid.

"I'll get you another one"

"No thanks"

"W-Why?!"

"Because I want to try something crazier" Yuzuru followed her line of sight and a couple at a bench eating the same ice-cream.

"Y-You mean… that?!"

"Yeah"

"A-Are you really sure about this?"

"Yep" Mayu dragged Yuzuru to the ice-cream stand.

Yuzuru took a sigh before he ordered, "One vanilla ice-cream please"

They found a bench and sat down, they then stared into the ice-cream.

"We better start before it melts" said Yuzuru.

Mayu nodded and stuck her tongue out as her head moved towards the ice-cream. Yuzuru followed her lead and headed for the ice-cream too. They soon felt the cold sensation on their tongue, at that moment they both retreated their heads away from the ice-cream. Their faces bright red.

Yuzuru ended up eating the entire ice-cream due to Mayu's sudden embarrassment to continue.

The day was about to end, the sky was orange. They decided to end the day with a ride in the ferris-wheel. They rose up into the sky.

Mayu looked outside the viewing glass and asked, "We're attacking The Master's tower tomorrow aren't we?"

"Yeah…"

"I hope we can leave this world and entire our afterlife, but even if I couldn't I wish you could"

"We will, I promise you, nothing will happen to you tomorrow, I will protect you even if it costs me my life"

Mayu suddenly faced Yuzuru with a sad face, tears were on the edge off her eyes, "But Yuzuru, I'm a Shadow, I don't even know if I could leave tis world. So even if I don't make it, I want you to live on promise me that instead"

"I won't make that promise, because both of us will make it through and we will meet in the afterlife, and be together again just like this"

"Yuzuru…" Mayu let out her tears and embraced Yuzuru. He patted her head while he repeated the words, it will be alright.

The day soon ended and the day to move on to their afterlife had come.

The SSS and Guild members arrived at the base of the tower without getting attention from The Master.

Yuzuru explained the plan, "Yuri, Kuroha, go in the other elevator while Mayu and I go in this one"

"Why?" Yuri asked.

"In case The Master figured out one of his elevators are acting suspicious and stops one. If he does, then we need at least one of use to reach the top to fight The Master. The others will stand guard down here for Shadows if we did get spotted"

"You have a point onii chan" Kuroha agreed, "Just be careful on your own and don't do anything inappropriate to Mayu while you two are alone"

Mayu's face turned red, "Yuzuru…you didn't… plan to do that right?"

"What?! I wouldn't!"

"Yuzuru! Are you saying I'm not good enough?!"

"No! I don't mean that!"

"Yuzuru, you pervert!"

"No I'm not! Anyway let's get going!"

Yuzuru and Mayu entered an elevator, while Yuri and Kuroha entered the other. Each carried two supply bags of ammunition and weapons.

Mayu placed her right hand onto the uniform that Yuzuru had given her earlier. A black uniform with beautiful crimson red trims.

She watched at the numbers above increase: 29, 30, 31, 32. And decide what she must do.

I will make sure Yuzuru makes it through; I will protect him with my life. I've never fallen in love before, he was the only that accepted me even though he knew I am a Shadow. He's the one that freed me from The Master, gave me hope to live on and loved me despite the fact that I tried to kill him and his friends. He's done so much for me…

Ding! The elevator stopped and the doors opened. Mayu checked the floor number just in case they landed on a lower floor.

Mayu confirmed, "Floor 50, this is it, the final battle is here"

They exited the elevator and checked the elevator beside them. Floor: 45.

"Looks like your intuition is spot on"

Suddenly an unknown voice echoed throughout the floor, "Hahaha… did you think you got up here by chance?"

"Who's there?!" Yuzuru yelled.

"I am The Master" a large, dark, monstrous shadow appeared before him.

"Prepare yourself for your defeat! NEO Skill: Excalibur"

"NEO Skill: Hand Sonic version 1"

The Master raised his hand to pause their assault, "Now before you act hasty, please listen"

"And why should we?" asked Mayu.

"Because I will tell you the one and only way to leave this world"

Yuzuru and Mayu lowered their weapons.

"Go on" Yuzuru ordered.

"Both of you will face two trials, you will firstly face you greatest enemy… Death"

"Death?"

Shadows began to build up to form a level three Shadow, but larger than the normal size. A cloak of a reaper was formed onto the Shadow and a Scythe was materialised and was grasped firmly by the clawed hands of the Shadow.

Yuzuru looked up at the creature, "That's… Death?"

Mayu began her assault. She leaped into the air and scared the creature's chest. Yuzuru stayed with the supply bags and fired his Five-Seven until it was dry. He searched through the bag and equipped a Galil. As he distracted Death with his Galil, Mayu dealt damage from behind.

Death roared with pain as pain spiked up to its mind continuously with no breaks.

Clip by clip Yuzuru reloaded and fired. Mayu eventually struck Death's leg causing it to kneel down.

"Yuzuru! The rocket! Now!" Mayu shouted, "While it's down! Hurry!"

Yuzuru shoved the rocket into the RPG as fast as he could. But Death recover with tremendous speeds and punched Mayu away with all its power.

"Mayu! Bastard!" Yuzuru launched the rocket at Death and watched as it imploded. Death was soon nothing more than dust.

Yuzuru rushed to Mayu and helped her weak body up.

"Congratulations, you have past the first trial, now… for the last trial…"

"The last trial? Mayu you should sit this one out"

Mayu objected with her weak voice, "No, no, I'll be fine"

"Don't worry, this trial is quite simple really… just remember your death"

"Yuzuru… I could barely remember my death…"

"I'll help you, we're going back together"

"Yuzuru…"

Yuzuru began to ask questions to try jog her memory, "Now think. You said you hated Mafia groups didn't you? Why's that?"

Mayu closed her eyes and thought back closely, "I hated them because… my parents were killed by one… I survived but…"

"Yes?"

"I too… was killed by one later…"

"By which one? By who?"

Mayu placed her right hand on her forehead as if to easy an imaginary pain, "I… was killed… by the same group… by the head…"

"Alright, you're almost there, how?"

"I was shot… I-I remember…"

"You did it Mayu, you did it…" Yuzuru embraced her with joy.

"We can now move on to the afterlife together… with everyone else…"

"Yes Yuzuru… I'll see you one the other side…"

They were surrounded by light particles; it became so bright they closed their eyes.

When Yuzuru opened his eyes, he was in the arms in a man.

"He's beautiful…"

All Yuzuru could say were unclear words.

"What will his name be Matsuki?" asked a woman.

"Yuuto…"

Years went by, Yuuto was soon seventeen. A year ago he met a special girl named, Misaki. He felt a strange, unexplainable feeling and started to hang around her a lot. He asked her out a few months after they met.

Yuuto stood by the station waiting for his cute girlfriend to arrive on their date.

"Yuuto…!"

Yuuto turned to face Misaki who waved her arm while she ran towards him.
