After Santana's song, the band went back to playing their usual list until it was time for Klaus to come forward for what he asked them to prepare.
"So, are you happy for your brother?" Rachel asked Klaus as he gave her a cup of soda.
"Of course I am. Kol can be insufferable when he doesn't get what he wants." Klaus smirked.
"You know he can hear you right?" Rachel asked him.
"Oh yeah, I know. I also know that he's too happy to have Santana finally in his arms to do anything about it." Klaus smirk before one of the tiny cocktail sausage from the food table crashed against the back of his head, proving him wrong and making Rachel laugh.
"You think this is funny don't you?" Klaus asked her, bringing her closer to him.
"Yes I do. Now come on, make me dance before the night is over." She told him.
"How about I take you to the stage and we finally sing that song together?" He suggested.
"You didn't even tell me which song it will be... How can I know I'll sing it well?" She asked him while he guided her to the stage and to the band who were ready for them.
"I do because you're always at least amazing and I know you know the song. Plus, it might even scare your father a bit." Klaus smirked as he showed her the title of the song on the music sheets.
"So, you want to see if a vampire can have a heart attack or how quickly he can get grey hair... Great." Rachel smiled and they quickly both went on the front of the stage as the music started for them.
They didn't introduce the song. Everyone could recognise "Marry you" and they immediately started singing.
TOGETHER:
It's a beautiful night, we're looking for something dumb to do
Hey baby, I think I wanna marry you
"What? No! No way! She's still a baby, my baby! No!" Damon snapped his head up and glared at the powerful thousand years old hybrid on stage with his baby girl.
When he looked around, he realised that he might have said 'no' too loudly because a lot of people were smirking at him.
RACHEL:
Is it the look in your eyes or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby, I think I wanna marry you
Well, I know this little chapel on the boulevard
We can go, whoa, whoa
No one will know, whoa
"Don't worry Love, look in their eyes, they're just having fun. I knew Klaus promised Rachel he'd sing with her tonight as a graduation gift. This must simply be it." Rebekah tried to ease his mind.
KLAUS:
Oh, come on, girl
Who cares if we're trashed
Got a pocket full of cash
We can blow, whoa, whoa
Shots of Patron, whoa, whoa
And it's on, girl
"Then why are they singing this one? There are hundreds of other suitable songs they could be singing together instead of this one." Damon replied angrily.
"Probably to have fun seeing your reaction to it… Come on Damon, take a big breath, calm down and dance with me on this one. I love this song and they're singing it beautifully together." Rebekah asked him in a soothing voice she knew always worked and he relaxed before he started dancing with her.
"He better not marry her without asking me first and he better not marry her in Vegas." Damon muttered, making Rebekah chuckle.
TOGETHER:
Don't say no, no, no, no, no
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
And we'll go, go, go, go, go
If you're ready like I'm ready
'Cause it's a beautiful night, we're looking for something dumb to do
Hey baby, I think I wanna marry you
"This song is great…" Alaric told Jenna.
"Yes, they're singing it well." She replied.
"Maybe it's something we should think about…" He said.
"Singing? You know better, I can't sing." She chuckle.
"No, not singing…marrying." He replied.
"Marrying who?" She asked distractedly, her eyes still on the stage before she realized what he had said and turned to look at him, a shocked look on her face.
"Did you just…" She started to say but stopped.
"Proposed in a very weird way? Yes, I did. Don't… Don't say anything, I'll do a better proposal later." He told her, kissing her quickly before he turned her back toward the stage.
"When you do I'll be happy to agree." She told him as she pushed her back against his stomach so she'd be closer in his arms.
KLAUS:
Is it the look in your eyes or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby, I think I wanna marry you
Oh, I'll go get a ring
Let the choir bells sing like, ooh, ooh, ooh
So what you wanna do ooh, ooh
Let's just run, girl
"So, Santana, about his song…" Kol started to say but the Latino hybrid cut him off:
"Don't even think about it Kol. Don't push it." She said with an amused smile on his face, knowing he was toying with her.
"What if I had really been proposing?" he asked her.
"Then you'd have been a moron to do it so soon and you'd have deserved a rejection." She replied.
"That's fair." He nodded, closing his arms around her, happy to feel her fit perfectly against him.
RACHEL:
If we wake up and you want to break up
That's cool ooh, ooh
No, I won't blame you ooh, ooh
"God they're so perfect together… I can't believe how much she's grown up… Sometimes when I look at her I still see the little girl I met at the Mall…" Sage told Finn.
"Well, she became a smart and strong young lady and I think you had your role in this." He replied.
"I know, she told me so too… I just… I miss having a kid around." Sage shrugged.
"We…we could always adopt if that's what you want…" He suggested.
"Seriously?" She asked him.
"Of course. We could adopt a kid and settle down somewhere nice and calm…" Finn offered, smiling, knowing that was what she wanted.
"I…maybe we can talk about it over the summer? Plan everything, make the big decisions?" She asked him.
"Of course, anything you want Love." Finn kissed her.
KLAUS:
It was fun, girl
TOGETHER:
Don't say no, no, no, no, no
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
And we'll go, go, go, go, go
If you're ready like I'm ready
While his daughter sang with Klaus, Damon had to admit that he was happy to know that she would have him in her life, always. He knew she'd be happy with him, just like he knew he'd be happy with Rebekah once he gathered the nerves to actually propose to her.
KLAUS:
It's a beautiful night, we're looking for something dumb to do
RACHEL:
Hey baby, I think I wanna marry you
TOGETHER:
Is it the look in your eyes or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby, I think I wanna marry you
Just say I do, ooh, ooh, ooh
Tell me right now, baby
Tell me right now, baby, baby
Just say I do, ooh, ooh, ooh
Tell me right now, baby
Tell me right now, baby, baby
'Cause it's a beautiful night, we're looking for something dumb to do
Hey baby, I think I wanna marry you
Is it the look in your eyes or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby, I think I wanna marry you
As soon as they were done singing, everyone cheered for them and clapped, congratulating them on this great duet.
They got off the stage and Damon came to find them, a determined look on his face.
"Not before she's 21 and not before asking me first. And don't even think of doing it in Vegas." Damon told Klaus, looking him in the eyes before he turned around to go back to a laughing Rebekah.
"Well, this went well." Klaus commented.
"Come on, let's get something to drink before everything is gone." Rachel suggested.
.
The rest of the night went very well and they all knew that the next day, summer would start and mark a new beginning for a lot of them.
What did you think?
Review please, you know I love it when you do!
I'm not doing really well lately and I don't know if it's going to affect my writing or not but I still have a few chapters in advance so I should be able to keep on updating weekly for a while.
