Klaus and Rachel had walked in their spacious apartment only 5 hours ago and already everything was in place. Probably because they had send all of their things ahead and that Klaus's hybrids sorted everything before they arrived. What little they had to do was done easily and quite quickly thanks to Rachel's magic and their super speed.
They both had their first day of school the next day but since they still had most of the afternoon free, they decided to use it to get familiar with their neighbourhood. They didn't need to look into the way they would take to get to school, both of them had cars with GPS and they would be able to compel themselves a spot to park on, even if it wasn't really moral. They did think about using the bus or taking the subway to get to school but it was often late and they calculated that it would keep them away from each other much longer than if they took the car so the choice was rather easy.
"This is the first time my father won't be here for my first day of school... It's weird..." Rachel contemplated as they looked at the different shops and food places in their street and around.
"Do you mind? Will you miss him?" He asked her.
"No, not really... I always knew that it was coming but it just dawned on me I guess... I'm a grown up... everything will be different now..." She tried to explain.
"Well, I don't mind at all. I like that you're a grown up." He replied as he slipped his arm around her waist and kissed the side of her forehead in comfort.
They spent the evening eating take outs and talking about what they liked the most about their summer vacations before they went to bed together.
.
The next morning, they woke up ready to face their new lives and got ready harmoniously. They walked together to their cars, kissed each other and each went on their way with the promise to keep in touch throughout the day with their phones and the knowledge that they would see each other at the end of the day.
At first they wanted to see each other for lunch but they later decided that it would be best, at least for Rachel, to stay on NYADA campus and try to make friends. Klaus only had one class really, but he decided to try and look for a teaching position a few more hours a week to keep himself busy while Rachel was at school. Since he didn't really need the money, maybe he could try to bring art and culture in one of the poorest schools of the city.
Rachel had been sure that everything would be without any trouble now, that NYADA was where she was supposed to be and that she would feel like a fish in water now but she had been wrong.
First day, first class...it was dance with the famous Cassandra July and she obviously didn't like Rachel. The witch/vampire hybrid didn't know what she had done to get this talented teacher to hate her so much but it had been like a hard slap back into reality. Here it didn't matter that she had rid the world of Katerina Petrova and Silas, it didn't matter all she had been trough. She was a talented student among others who were just as talented and she had to fight to get noticed, in the good way.
"Don't worry about her too much, she's always hardest on the ones she feels have the most potential." A young man's voice said behind her.
Rachel's instinct told her that he had powers. He was a witch (or warlock, apparently some males witches had a hard time accepting being called witch...Probably because it hurt their man pride or something). She wasn't alone in this school and that fact warmed her heart.
"You're a student here?" She asked him and she knew that from the amount of powers she felt on him, he must be able to feel hers too.
"Yes, I'm a junior. My name's Brody." He replied, putting his hand out for her to shake.
"Rachel." She said with a smile as she shook his hand.
"I know who you are. Rachel Salvatore, the hybrid." He smiled.
"How do you know?" She asked him.
"My coven and I have seen you arrive. We've been ready to welcome you." He replied.
"I'm sorry, I'm not looking to be part of any coven." She apologized.
The witches she had met before while coming here with Sage had reached out to her already but if Rachel promised to keep in touch and visit, even to help them if they needed it, she didn't want to be part of a coven just yet.
"I figured as much but we're still here anyway if you want to hang out or talk... It might help sometimes to talk with people who can understand you. Here, take my number. I have to go to class now but I'm only a phone call away." He told her before he left the room.
.
Brody was convinced that he deserved that a book was written about him. He was a great NYADA student, performed little roles on Broadway from time to time, was a powerful warlock at the head of a powerful coven and he was a successful escort with famous and rich clients.
Being popular and having power and money wasn't enough though. He wasn't stupid. He knew how the world worked and power changed hands all the time. He needed a way to secure this power, to find a way to get some sort of domination over the other covens in town and Rachel Salvatore's arrival in town would be the perfect occasion for this to happen.
He knew, just like every other practicing witch in the world, who she was and what her destiny was. She was destined to be one of the most powerful witches in this world and he needed her to join him.
He had seen that she wasn't alone, her hybrid vampire/werewolf of a boyfriend came with her so Brody knew that he had to be smooth about his plan to win her over.
First, he needed to become her friend, let her know that he was there for her, whatever the reason. Then he needed to find a way to come between Klaus and her. Then he needed to convince her to be with him, marry him. Together they would have powerful children and start a dynasty of great witches that would bring the rest of the world on their knees.
He had recognised her as soon as he saw her and it was like the world was working to help him. Why else would he have met her right after her first class with Cassandra July, a class where the famous teacher had been very hard on Rachel? Brody was sure that it was a sign of destiny. Rachel Salvatore was destined to be his and she would be, he didn't see any other paths for him.
So, Rachel met Brody and he has a plan... What do you think?
What do you think will happen? Is Brody good or Evil?
Little spoiler? : Kurt will appear soon in New York...
