[[SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO FREAKING LONG TO FINISH! LIFE WENT NUTS! I got EXTREMELY busy! But this story is FINISHED and I am uploading ALL the chapters now! ]]
Vyyr trained Kuu and Evan hard; but he was still wondering if it was enough. Kuu and Evan were learning quickly, but Vyyr had picked up at least 5 different scents. Possibly even a sixth. This was worrying to him. Three against six was not good odds. Especially with a Human. Humans were weak and frail compared to Endermen, and had no healing ability.
But then Vyyr remembered something. Or rather, somebody. Luka, the blacksmith; the burly man did not smell human. In fact, he wasn't human. He had been, once; but now he was a big, burly red werewolf. He'd known the man for at least six human generations. Probably longer. He'd always been there, just outside the village, making his "Wolfsblood" moonshine.
'I believe I know another who can help us.' Vyyr said. 'You remember the man you bought the moonshine from?'
Evan nodded. "Yeah, the Blacksmith, I remember him."
'He's more then he says he is.' Vyyr said. There was a slight sparkle to his eye as he spoke. 'I am going to see if he will join us. I think he will, I've known him for a long time.'
Evan nodded. "If you can get him to help, that would be great. Because I'm not going to lie...I'm scared."
'Oh he'll help.' Vyyr said, with a light smile. 'He is like a brother to me. But do not be surprised when he shows you the form he takes when he fights.'
"Form...?" Evan asked.
'A great red wolf that stands on two legs.' He said.
~Vwip!~ Vyyr was gone, leaving Evan to stare at the slowly vanishing particles where he had just been.
"A-a... A WEREWOLF?" He gasped. Kuu tilted his head at the human.
Luka heard the sharp 'vwip' of a teleport behind him. "Ey' Vyyr! I'd know your scent anywhere. How are ya, ya old fart? Come for more of my Moonshine?" The burly man stood up with a hearty laugh, going over to give the Enderman a big crushing bear hug. The hug made Vyyr grunt, before his back cracked and he sagged with a sigh of relief. "So how's the back feelin'? Did Evan fix it?"
'Yes, yes, MUCH better.' Vyyr smiled and hugged his friend back. 'Still a little stiff and sore, but not so bad now. And thank you, I've been trying to crack that spot all day.' He showed his fangs in a light playful smirk.
"Hah! Well that's good!" The wolfish man grinned. "So if you didn't come for more Moonshine, what brings ya here?"
'Well...' Vyyr said. 'It seems that Kuu's past is coming in the form of vengeful family. There seem to be five or six Endermen, judging by the scents I have found, that are hunting him. Right now, there is Kuu, me, and Evan; which isn't the greatest of odds against five or six of my kind. As you know, we are particularly strong, especially compared to humans.'
"Even compared to me in my wolf form." Luka said simply.
'I was wondering if you could help us fight.' Vyyr said. 'I am going to ask Shining-Moon, as well.'
"Of course I'll help ya fight, old buddy!" Luka thumped the Enderman on the back. "Anythin' for you. And having that witch on our team will be very useful. Clever fox'll have them chasin' their own tails while we pick 'em off one by one."
Vyyr smiled. 'Thank you.' He said.
"You lead the way. I'd like to get some trainin' in." Luka said. "A little rusty, and I could definitely stand to lose this." He patted his round beer gut with a grin.
Vyyr chuckled at that. 'I am fortunate I can't seem to get that.' He mused 'You remember Evan's home? Kuu and Evan are back there practicing. I am going to go get Shining-Moon, and I will meet you there.' Vyyr said.
"Sounds like a plan." The Blacksmith said. He grabbed up his armor, and walked out into the woods. Once a good distance from the village, his frame rippled into that of a huge red wolf, and he galloped the rest of the way to Evan's house. He took human form before he arrived.
"Vyyr sent me." Luka said to Evan. "He's getting the fox."
Evan nodded. "That was quick." He said.
"I have ways of getting places quickly." The wolfish man said.
"So I see." Evan said. He looked up as the clip clop of horse's hooves came to his ears. There was Leanna, riding Satin. Done up in armor, with her sword strapped to her hip. Evan was completely shocked for a moment.
"I heard there was trouble." She said, before the man could speak.
"How..." Evan stared for a moment.
"... I saw Vyyr teleport into Luka's shop and I got curious. Anyway, I figured I might as well lend a hand as well."
"Wow.. thanks. I'll... I'll have Vyyr train you as well when he returns." Evan said.
"Where is he?" Leanna asked.
"Bringing another ally." Evan said. There was a burst of particles as the Enderman returned, the silvery five-tailed fox beside him proudly. Though her composure broke for a moment as she shook her head a few times and staggered a few steps.
"All this time I've known you and I am STILL not used to you teleporting me!" The Kitsune complained, flicking her tails. Her sharp ears lifted, before she lightly dipped her head to each present before sitting daintily beside her tall, dark friend.
"The odds get better and better..." Evan said. "There's Me, Leanna, Kuu, Vyyr, Luka, Moonshimmer ... that's … six of us. And five or six of them..." He felt better about it already.
Vyyr, though, lifted his head as soon as the breeze shifted, carrying Leanna's scent to him. He moved closer, taking in several breaths of her scent. A little unsure, the woman raised a brow and leaned away. She was about to ask what the hell he was doing, when the old one spoke.
'Five.' Vyyr corrected.
"What?" Evan asked.
'She's not fighting.' Vyyr said simply.
"Excuse me?" Leanna nearly snapped. "I CAME here to fight. You aren't stopping me."
'But I will not allow you to endanger your child.' Vyyr said.
"I don't have a child." Leanna said.
'But you will.' Vyyr said. 'You mean you didn't know already? The scent is very clear, you have to be at least six months along.'
"How the hell.. I'm not pregnant!" Leanna said, frowning. "How is it possible? The only male I've been with recently is...Kuu and..." She'd been with Evan that night, too; before she had been taken home.
She glanced towards Kuu.
'Hybrids are quite possible.' Vyyr said. 'I know, I fathered one a very long time ago.'
"But- But we are entirely different species!" Leanna sputtered. "How is it possible!? How can..."
Vyyr shrugged his scarred shoulders, the pearls he wore around his neck clacking together lightly. 'Don't ask me to explain, I only know it is possible. But the point is I will not allow you to fight in your condition. It will put your little one to risk.'
Vyyr moved a bit closer to her, taking in her scent. 'You have been pregnant for some time.. how did you not notice? The scent is very strong... surely one of those you live with noticed the scent at least.'
"Humans don't have that kind of sense of smell." Leanna said, shifting a bit. She HAD been gaining a little weight around the belly, but she had assumed it was the winter; she always gained a bit over the winter, and lost it again in spring. The thought of becoming pregnant from a species that was most definitely not her own had not even crossed her mind. She wasn't sure WHAT to think. Or what her father would think. Her father still didn't know about Evan's friend! What would the villagers think of a half-Ender child? She'd probably have to hide the birth and raise the child in secret.. or perhaps give it over to Kuu... but was he ready for a hybrid child?
"Are you sure it's... Kuu's...?" She finally asked. "I was with Evan... too."
'Before, or after Kuu?' Vyyr asked simply.
".. After." She said. Evan just blushed awkwardly. He glanced towards Kuu, who was watching them both curiously.
'Then it is most likely Kuu's.' Vyyr said. 'We are quite a bit more potent then human males. Even if Evan had been first, Kuu would be the more likely father. He is small and young, but strong.'
"Not to mention your kind kinda... release more." Leanna said, clearing her throat. She glanced towards Kuu again.
Vyyr smirked. 'I haven't seen a human's release, but this I have been told. Though I am generally quite careful when I mate with a human... I'd rather not sire a hybrid and can generally tell by scent when pregnancy is possible.'
"You actually..." Leanna asked.
'More then once.' He said. 'Though most can't accept all of me. Other then the fox, that is.'
Moonshimmer flicked her tails and smirked. She was in the form of a small fox at the moment, sitting gracefully with her ears perked up and her five tails surrounding her. "I have to take my larger form to take all of him. But it's quite worth it."
"Wow that's more then I needed to know." Evan cleared his throat. Vyyr let out a light laugh.
'You humans and your sensitivity to anything related to sex or your own bodies... such shy creatures you are.' The old Enderman chuckled lightly. 'At any rate, Leanna.. you need to rest. You are close to the end of your time. This is another thing that tells me that your child is half Ender. Our children are very, very small at birth. The first time I saw a newborn human, I was completely surprised. I wondered how the human gave birth to something so large.'
"Your kind are bigger then ours." Evan said, after a moment. "How are your children smaller?"
Vyyr shrugged. 'Even our females are very slim. A baby as big as a human's baby would be too big, and our females would die giving birth.'
Vyyr turned to Leanna. 'I raised a hybrid once before. If you want to get back to your life in the village... feel no guilt. I will raise the little one and you can come visit whenever you want. I can show you my home, if you promise you will tell nobody where I live. It'll be nice to have some company about... I'm a lonely old thing.'
There was a moment of silence from Leanna, before she nodded. "Honestly... I'd appreciate that." She said. "If I had to raise the child myself I'd probably be thrown out of the village... And they'd be out on the hunt for whatever Ender fathered the child. Even if I said it was completely willing on my part."
'We can't have that, now... Kuu and I mean no harm.' Vyyr said. 'When you feel the time is near, come to my home; or here if I am here. I can deliver the child there; I know what I am doing. I was good friends with the town Healer a long time ago, before dear old Eva died of age. She taught me much of what she knew before her death. After a bit of recovery I can take you home.. the villagers don't have to know. And your child will be alive, well, and safe with me.'
Leanna nodded. "Thank you." She said. "But what of Kuu?" She looked to Kuu, who chirped back.
'I can help, can't I?' Kuu asked, tilting his head.
'Of course you can.' Vyyr purred lightly. 'I will show you and your friend how to care for the child, and where I live. As I said I get lonely living out there all by myself. Friends and company would be quite lovely. Though we must get back to training. There is no telling how close our adversaries are. Shining-Moon; care to show us your special methods?' He asked the fox.
The Kitsune reared up and grew larger, until she was in her beautiful human form. "Of course, my dear." She said with a flick of one sharp ear. One tail trailed along Vyyr's leg as she turned to face the others.
"My training will NOT be easy." The Kitsune said. "But it will be worth it. With the methods I will teach you, you can take on any foe. No matter how much bigger, and stronger then you they are."
"Perhaps I should take my fightin' form." Luka said. He smirked. "Don't you all worry. I have perfect control over it!"
He focused, and his frame started to grow, larger and larger as his body changed. Heels pushed up, hands grew larger, fingernails turned into claws and human face stretched into a wolfish muzzle as rusty red fur sprouted all over him. After a few moments, a massive red werewolf stood before them, thick tail swaying side to side. He stood nearly as tall as Vyyr, a good eight and a half feet tall.
"How's that?" The wolf grinned, his ears perking. Even with the warning, Evan could not help but just stare. He felt nervous at the sight, but Luka seemed to have perfect control of his big, beastly body.
The wolf was massive. Rippling with muscle, shaggy, and every bit the beast of horror one would expect a werewolf to be, aside from his friendly, lopsided grin more reminiscent of a goofy domestic dog then a wild wolf.
His coloration was rusty red, almost black along the back giving him an almost blood red color, paler towards the paws and underparts, a slight reddish white. His claws and pads were black and his eyes a bright burning yellow.
The Kitsune let out a lit yip of approval. "Your strength will come in handy, Wolfkin." She purred, circling the huge beast twice. Her tails flicked, before she turned to face them.
"And now your training begins."
She trained them hard, and long. Her methods were speed, agility, and knowledge of the enemy's body. She taught them to use the enemy's movement and speed against them and turn their attack around to trip them up.
Vyyr volunteered to be the one she used to show them where to hit, even if many of the hits to his pressure points had his knees buckling and him hitting the ground with a huffy grunt. He simply got up each time as she explained about the pressure points to regather his strength and await the next demonstration calmly. His patience was amazing. By the end of it, the old one was completely exhausted and sore, as were the others. Even the werewolf had flopped in the grass, wide pink tongue lolling from between powerful jaws.
"I will return in the morning. It is getting late." The Kitsune said before she took her smaller fox form and trotted off into the woods. Her five tails swayed behind her.
