Hello lovelys!

So I pretty much completely forgot about doing one of these for Easter… I mean, I was celebrating it with my family, and then I had exams to prepare for, and it just completely slipped my mind. I'm not going to do an Easter one, as it's too late, I will however do this one! Cinco de Mayo! Now I don't celebrate Cinco de Mayo, so I apologise for any incorrect celebrations.

Oh also, please note, from now on all my fics will be based pre season 7 finale! (unless stated otherwise). I loved the series finale, but it doesn't give me much to work with.

Please review! I always love reviews, they make my day, and would be a much needed break from exam revision!

NOTE: the characters in this chapter are all responsible adults (well… maybe not Shawn) and know how to drink responsibly. I am not encouraging underage drinking or irresponsible drinking. That is all.

Juliet made her way to the Psych office late at night, bringing a very reluctant Carlton Lassiter with her. Shawn had insisted on throwing a party for Cinco de Mayo this year. They had already met up for all the parades that Santa Barbara held (and, of course, eventually got caught up in a murder investigation, because there is never a parade in Santa Barbara that doesn't end in someone's murder). After countless hours in the station they had reached a dead end that only results from the lab would fix, so Shawn insisted. Anyone who could get the rest of the day off ere only too happy to join in. After all, they did miss out on more than half the parade and celebrations.

"O'Hara, I just want to go on the record here and say I don't like any of this," Carlton protested from his spot in the passenger seat of Juliet's green Volkswagen. She practically forced her partner into the seat and literally threatened to handcuff him to the seat if he didn't settle down.

"Carlton, today was your first day off in weeks. I'm sure Marlowe doesn't appreciate, and you yourself can't actually like the idea that it was just taken away from you in the blink of an eye," Juliet responded, keeping her eyes on the road. But all it took was one glance Carlton's way to see the look he was giving her. "Or maybe you can…"

"I like what I do," Carlton said simply. "If I were to spend every day doing it, I would not complain."

"Okay, but that's not healthy," Juliet said as a last resort.

"Because drinking until you're numb is," Carlton mumbled.

"Hey, you can't judge! You used to do it all the time!" At this, Carlton only grumbled inaudible words. Juliet couldn't help but smile at her partner, "We're going, and you're going to have a wonderful time, and that's that."

It hadn't taken long before the two detectives finally arrived at the Psych Office. Carlton was tempted to stay in the car, pouting like a child, but one look from Juliet quickly changed any of those plans. He grudgingly unbuckled his seat belt and opened the car door, He then slammed it shut, causing Juliet to jump, before following his partner to the damn office.

Juliet pushed open the door, Carlton closely behind her. The office was fully decorated with everything Mexico related, and there were dishes of all sorts of ethnicities. Surprisingly, most of the department was already crammed into the office. It was difficult to make out any one face in particular, but finally they found Shawn's smiling face coming towards them.

"Jules! Lassie-face! You guys made it!" He called out to them.

"Of course we did!" Juliet said happily. "Not like there was much left for us to do at the station. We'll get the results tomorrow." Shawn nodded in acknowledgment, his smile ever growing. He turned his look at Carlton and opened his mouth to say something – no doubt a comment on what Carlton was wearing, or maybe the particular way his hair was styled.

"I don't want to be here," Carlton quickly cut off any comment the 'psychic' could have made. Shawn held back a laugh.

"It's good to see you to, Lassie."

"Where's Gus?" Juliet asked.

"He's… um…" Shawn turned around to point him out, only to be greeted by the ever growing mob in his office. "Somewhere in there…" at that, Juliet had to laugh.

"Spencer, why in the hell are there Easter Eggs around the office?" Carlton asked at last.

"Yeah, I was wondering that as well," Juliet said.

"Well, I mean, we didn't really celebrate Easter, did we?" Shawn said. "So I figured, why not combine the two holidays?"

"Easter and Cinco de Mayo have nothing in common," Carlton said.

"Well then maybe you should have showed up for my awesome Easter bash. Then we wouldn't be having this problem, now would we?"

"What Easter Bash?" Juliet asked. "Did you throw a party without me?" and now she sounded offended.

"Well, I wanted to, but no one was around."

"We weren't around?" Carlton asked slightly incredulously. "Where in sweet lady justice were you on Easter?"

"What are you talking about?"

"You just disappeared on Easter," Juliet explained.

"Don't get the wrong idea," Carlton said, a smile forming on his face. "You weren't missed." Juliet rolled her eyes at her partner.

"Com'on Son!" Shawn said "I was…" Shawn suddenly blanked. "I was… where was I on Easter?"

"You know, Easter isn't generally the holiday that you get wasted on," Carlton said disapprovingly.

"I didn't get drunk. Where the hell were you on Easter?"

"Not that I need to prove myself, but I'll have you know that I was…." Carlton suddenly blanked. "I was… I don't have to explain myself to you." Shawn raised an eyebrow before turning to his girlfriend.

Juliet looked deep in thought, before her eyes widened in shock. "I have absolutely no idea where I was on Easter," she whispered.

"Are you saying that none of us know where we were on Easter?" Shawn asked. Both detectives exchanged worried looks. "You guys don't find that a little bit strange?"

"Well – "

"I'VE GOT TEQUILA!" they all heard someone shout.

"Oh look, there's Gus," Shawn pointed out the obvious.

"Forget it," Juliet said at last. "It's holiday and possibly my last day off for weeks. I'm getting drunk!"

"That's the spirit Jules!" Shawn encouraged.

"Bring on the tequila!"
