The next chapter of One Piece: Final Holy War is out. Enjoy and review.
A Surprise Reunion
The Straw Hats continued to stare down at Sanbi with steely resolve. It was true that Sanbi possessed power unlike any other foe they had ever previously encountered but so what. He wanted to take Shirahoshi away and they wouldn't let that happen.
"Do you now understand Straw Hats, the power that the Knights of D possess? It is futile to resist. Hand the mermaid princess over and I shall spare your lives," said Sanbi with authority.
"Yeah so what, you may have that weird power of yours but during our journey we came across all sorts of guys that had strange abilities and who said the same thing and we beat them all," said Zoro.
"Several of us came from the East Blue so we weren't use to guys with devil fruit abilities. But we were still able to defeat them," said Sanji then lighting his cigarette.
After taking a puff, he continued.
"It's the same thing with you. That power of D of yours, that haki enslavement and kamishoku is a power that we're not used to but we'll still defeat you just like all the other guys before," said Sanji.
"That's certainly true but at the time you had Luffy on your side to provide the raw power and more importantly strength. But he isn't with you anymore and without him, your all nothing," countered Sanbi.
The knight did have a point. Luffy was the one who really provided the muscle for their journey, the one who personally fought and defeated two Shichbukai and the strongest of their enemies. But even more importantly than that, it was his strength that allowed them to do the impossible, to take on an entire criminal organization led by a Shichbukai and it was his strength that pushed them onwards towards the seemingly impenetrable Ennies Lobby and face the top world government assassins, CP9. It was him that gave them the strength to stand up to the rising sun despite the high chance of disappearing from the world at Thriller Bark. Luffy was always the source of strength for the crew.
"That may be so but it's because you all tricked him into joining but we'll get him back for sure," replied Nami.
"That's right, Dragon manipulated his past and emotions to make him join. He didn't join of his own free will," said Usopp.
"Yeah, Luffy would never do any of the horrible things that the revolutionary army is making him do," said Chopper.
"I already told you that it was his choice to join us and he chose to do Lord Dragon's bidding. But that still doesn't change the fact that he isn't with you to give you strength anymore," said Sanbi.
"He may not be with us but we know that deep down in his heart, he wants to come back, once he realizes what Dragon's true motives are. And he is still giving us strength. It is because we want to get him back that we'll fight no matter what," said Nami.
"Not to mention that you want to take Shirahoshi-chan away and I can let that happen," said Sanji.
"I see that talking is useless," said Sanbi.
"It was useless from the start and that wouldn't change," replied Robin.
"I see then in that case …" said Sanbi letting the implication of those words sink in.
And it did sink into each of the Straw Hats. Sanbi was about to attack.
Sanbi then leapt high into the air.
"Wow that's high," commented Ussop.
"I can jump high too, Jumping Point," said Chopper transforming into jumping point.
Chopper jumped into the air equally as high as Sanbi.
"Heavy Point," said Chopper going into heavy point.
"Heavy Gong," said Chopper trying to punch Sanbi in his hulking form.
The even more hulking Sanbi took the punch directly without flinching.
"It didn't work," said Chopper who was suddenly grabbed and held by Sanbi in a powerful lock.
Chopper in his heavy point was strong and despite being a hulking figure himself was far less powerful than Sanbi. He tried to power out but to no avail. Sanbi then began spinning around rapidly in order to suplex Chopper into the ground.
"Chopper!" cried Usopp.
Quickly crossing her arms, Robin reacted quickly.
"Cien Fluer," said Robin who formed two large hands around Sanbi and Chopper.
"Slam," finished Robin.
The two large hands slammed Sanbi still holding Chopper. The attack itself didn't do much to Sanbi but it did stop Sanbi from successfully suplexing Chopper which was the intended goal.
"Nice Robin, you saved Chopper," complimented Franky.
Robin suddenly began gritting her teeth as she felt Sanbi overpowering her two giant hands.
"What insane strength, he's pushing back my giant arms with just brute force," commented Robin.
Sanbi was continuing to push Robin's large hands back when Chopper appeared directly in front of him. Robin's attack not only stopped Sanbi from taking Chopper out, but him trying to push back Robin's massive hands meant that he couldn't attack Chopper.
"I'm going to get you back for nearly suplexing me," said Chopper who then went into arm point.
"Arm Point," said Chopper going into arm point.
"Kokutei Roseo," said Chopper hitting Sanbi's massive chest with his hoof.
Sanbi however didn't even flinch and was still pushing Robin's arms backs.
"Not good enough," remarked Sanbi neutrally.
"Alright then, how about this, Kokutei Roseo Metal," said Chopper who hit Sanbi with a barrage of punches with his hooves.
"Still not good enough," remarked Sanbi again.
Sanbi then with a sudden increase in force pushed away Robin's too giant arms and was about to attack Chopper when suddenly he was hit directly on the head by a powerful kick from Sanji.
"Concasee," said Sanji who was flipping around rapidly and brought his foot down hard on Sanbi's head.
"Sanji," said Chopper acknowledging Sanji's save.
Sanbi himself was sent hard onto the ground creating huge cracks into it. Sanji however was not going to give him a chance to recover. Sanji then brought his leg down hard on the downed Sanbi while spinning around.
"Brochetter," said Sanji who brought his spinning leg down onto Sanbi in a drilling motion.
The attack itself made the already large spider cracks even larger and Sanbi himself had his eyes closed leading Sanji to believe that he was miraculously unconscious. That thinking was indeed wishful thinking for Sanbi opened his eyes and caught Sanji's leg, held him up and then slammed him down hard on the ground. He then stood up and brought both his hands up and was about to bring them down hard on Sanji.
"Ittoryu lai: Shishi Sonson," said Zoro.
Zoro quickly drew his sword and cut Sanbi before resheathing it. The attack itself left a noticeable cut on Sanbi's shoulder. It was nothing bad but it did save Sanji.
Sanji then kicked both his legs forward knocking Sanbi away and putting some distance between himself and the powerful fishman.
"Che, pathetic cook, you just had to need saving," said Zoro mocking Sanji.
"Shut up," retorted Sanji back not liking having Zoro of all people save him.
Sanbi then got into a stance and began grabbing the air as if it was a cloth.
"This can't be good," said Zoro.
And Zoro was right as Sanbi began pulling the air which in actuality was the water particles like a cloth. Then he hurled it forward sending a large torrent of water towards the two members of the monster duo.
"Oh," started Zoro.
"Shit," finished Sanji.
The water torrent hit both Zoro and Sanji. The two were appearing as though drowning since the water flow was strong and they didn't have time to prepare.
Sanji decided to not let this stop him and chose to counterattack.
"Blue Walk," said Sanji kicking the water and actually running inside the water torrent.
"Damn Blue Walk is a lot slower than usual," thought Sanji since the power of Sanbi's attack significantly slowed him down.
Sanji choosing to impulsively use blue walk to try and overcome Sanbi's Ultramarine proved to be a huge mistake for Sanbi was heading towards him at high speed.
"No way he's actually swimming in his own attack," thought a surprised Sanji.
Indeed for the large water column that Sanbi sent towards Zoro and Sanji, Sanbi was using it to actually swim towards the two and because a fishman was stronger in the water, Sanbi gained an incredible speed boost. To make matters worse, Sanji himself was in the water meaning that he was weaker than usual. All this meant one simple thing, Sanji was finished.
Using the increase in power that he gained from being in the water, Sanbi delivered a massive close line to Sanji sending him flying out of the water column which by now was fading away. With Sanji still airborne, Sanbi then formed an orb of water in his hands and hurled it towards Sanji which hit him directly. Sanji was unable to dodge because of Sanbi's powerful water enhanced close-line.
"Sanji!" cried Chopper.
"Sanji-kun!" cried out Nami.
"That baka-cook, what's he doing," said Zoro though he already knew why.
Sanji was incapacitated by Sanbi's close line.
"Ichi Gorilla," said Zoro flexing his left bicep.
"Ni Gorilla," continued Zoro flexing his other bicep.
Zoro then charged towards Sanbi with his flexed biceps.
"Nigori-Zake," said Zoro who had the aura of a gorilla around him.
Zoro then tried to use his enhanced strength to successfully damage Sanbi. It was not meant to be as Sanbi was still too strong. Using his incredible brute strength, he head butted Zoro's crossed swords and the change in momentum caused Zoro to be sent flying back bouncing on the ground a few times.
Sanbi then turned his attention back to the falling Sanji. Again holding his arms in a bowl shape with a blue orb of water forming in it, he then heaved the orb up and threw a large water current towards Sanji. The stream of water was about to hit Sanji when suddenly Brook appeared and caught Sanji just as he was about to be hit.
"Yohohoho that was a close one, right Sanji-san," said Brook.
Sanji who finally recovered though was still in pain only grunted in response.
"Don't expect a thank you from me, men should only save ladies, not other men," replied Sanji in a grunting voice.
"No need for that Sanji-san," replied Brook back.
"You think that water beam is anything, let me show you a real beam," said Franky.
Franky then pointed his arms out in an oval shape.
"Franky…" started Franky who began to initialize his attack.
A glowing light appeared from inside his arms.
"Radical…" continued Franky charging up his attack.
"Whatever that attack is, I better not let it hit me," thought Sanbi.
"Beam," finished Franky.
A large powerful beam of light was sent straight towards Sanbi. Sanbi himself had a brief moment of surprise before dodging it. The attack itself created a massive explosion that damaged several buildings.
"Damn, he dodged it," said Franky.
Sanbi turned around to survey the damage. It was a large explosion but he was sure that he could take it thanks to kamishoku haki. However it would be better to avoid it anyway.
"That's quite a powerful attack you have their Cyborg Franky," said Sanbi.
"Heh, of course, what do you expect from one of a body that incorporates the great scientific genius Vegapunk's technology," said Franky.
"Vegapunk, I see, so that's how your cyborg body is so advanced," said Sanbi.
"Of course, I found his old lab by accident when Bartholomew Kuma separated us. I then incorporated his technology into my being," said Franky.
"Well don't get too ahead of yourself. It'll take more than advanced technology to defeat me," replied Sanbi.
"Bring it on then, I've got plenty of Cola and ready to use it," said Franky with a grin.
"If that's the case then …" said Sanbi who suddenly disappeared.
He then reappeared in front of Franky and delivered a massive right hand to Franky's chest. Franky was sent flying back a far distance. Upon looking it was noted that his chest was actually damaged which was no easy feet considering that it was made from the advanced steel of Vegapunk's.
"Franky," called out Sanji.
Just as Franky was about to get up, Sanbi landed on top of him and forced him back to the ground. Franky began coughing up blood both from Sanbi's powerful right hand and from him landing on him.
"This is it for you," said Sanbi who held his arm back.
Just as he was about to deliver his attack, he sensed something.
"Hissatsu: Shuriken Ryusei-gun," shouted out Ussop.
Ussop then fired a chain with several shuriken on it. The shuriken then separated from the chain and spread out into a wide radius. Sanbi however simply countered by waving his hands and the shuriken all just stopped in their tracks.
"What the, all the shuriken were stopped in mid air, but why?" question Ussop at seeing his shuriken attack stopped.
Sanbi then made another gesture and then the shuriken all flew back towards Ussop.
"Yikes," cried out Usopp in surprise.
However luckily for him Zoro intercepted them and was able to cut down all the ones that were about to hit Usopp.
Usopp was still in shock at seeing his attack backfire but then got over it.
"Good work Zoro following my orders," said Usopp who couldn't help goofing off.
"Does he really have to do that at a time like this?" muttered Zoro.
"Speaking of which what just happened, why did Ussop's attack come right back at him?" questioned Zoro.
"Again it's my mastery of fishman karate," said Sanbi.
"Like I said before, fishman karate is all about the manipulation of the water in the surroundings, even the water in the air. I can use the water in the air to create a shockwave that can stop certain attacks and even redirect them which is something that even Jinbe is unable to do," explained Sanbi.
"Damn what a monster," said Usopp.
"Now as for you since you're so anxious to die …" said Sanbi who stopped when he noticed something hovering above him.
"A cloud, that big and so low to the ground," said Sanbi curiously.
"Beware of thunderstorms, the weather is stormy," said Nami with a smirk.
"You shouldn't waste time explaining your powers since you might just give your opponent an opening," said Nami.
"Thunderbolt tempo," said Nami who then threw a ball of electricity into the cloud.
The cloud became electrically charged into a thundercloud and soon a bolt of lightning hit the powerful Knight directly.
"Direct hit," said Usopp.
"And he's a fishman so it should be more effective on him," said Franky.
Nami again smirked at her successful attack.
"That is what you get for taking your eyes off the game," said Nami winking and sticking her tongue out.
However to everyone's surprise, Sanbi simply stood though not bothered at all. He still had sparks of electricity on him and he looked burnt but otherwise he didn't seem affected.
"What the, he's just standing there. It didn't work on him at all," said Usopp surprised.
"He's still wet from swimming inside his water attack so Nami's lightening attack should have fried him," said Zoro equally as surprised.
"Just what did he do this time?" said Chopper.
Even though all the Straw Hats were surprised, none were more so than Nami. As the owner of the sorcery tact and knowing how it works, she knew just how powerful it was. In fact during the battle against Hody's gang, her electricity attacks were very effective on the fishmen and electrocuted several of them. But it didn't seem to have even phased Sanbi.
"That's quite a shocking attack you have their Cat Burglar Nami, but I am much too powerful for that. My armament haki strengthened by kamishoku makes such an attack ineffective against me," said Sanbi.
Of course, it was to be expected. Sanbi was able to tank Sanji's Diable Jambe attack which is capable of destroying Pacifista with ease. If that couldn't work, then it was unlikely that Nami's attacks would.
"Besides electricity of such low magnitude doesn't work on someone as strong as I am. My large muscles help protect me from such an attack," said Sanbi.
It was true, Sanbi was a hulking figure whose muscles was on par if not larger than Hody's though the Straw Hats were sure that his unlike Hody's were natural muscles, forged on the battlefield, not like Hody's which was a shortcut through drugs. This meant that Sanbi not only had incredible power, but extreme stamina, durability and high tolerance for pain. Such large muscles protected him from the power of Sanji's kicks, even the heat and power from his Diable Jambe. So the same would apply to Nami's thunder attacks, in fact even with haki, the Straw Hats were sure that a lot of their attacks still wouldn't work on him.
"So then, Cat Burglar, since you attacked me, you obviously have a death wish. In that case …" said Sanbi.
"I'll grant you that wish," said Sanbi darkly.
Sanbi then charged towards Nami who screamed in terror.
"Strong Right," called out Franky who launched his right hand attached to his arm with a chain.
Sanbi however caught Franky's extended chain arm and pulled it back causing Franky to be reeled in towards him. Sanbi then delivered a powerful punch to Franky's face sending him flying back. Sanbi unfortunately didn't let go of the chain and began swinging him around. He then began running towards Nami with Franky in tow.
Zoro, Sanji and Chopper quickly got infront of Nami to protect her from Sanbi. Sanbi responded by swinging Franky towards the group who all dodged.
Pressing on Sanbi swung Franky at Zoro who used the back of his swords to block his crewmate who was being used as a chain mace. The force at which Sanbi swung Franky was so great that it still knocked him away a great distance. Going after Sanji, Sanbi tried to use Franky as a chain mace to hit the cook but Sanji due to using Sky Walk was much harder to hit.
"Sky Walk," said Sanji who continued to dodge his nakama being used as a chain weapon.
Realizing that he wouldn't hit Sanji this way, Sanbi opted for something different. Turning to Robin, he then threw Franky towards Robin knowing that Sanji will lose concentration from seeing a lady in danger.
"Robin-chan look out!" called out Sanji.
"Cien Fleur," said Robin crossing her arms and forming two large hands.
The two large hands caught Franky and not only cushioned his fall, but also saved her from being crashed into by him.
Sanji having taken his attention off Sanbi didn't notice Sanbi standing directly behind me. Turning around, he was met by Sanbi's massive fist who punched him far away into several buildings. It seemed that Sanji had so far taken the most damage from this battle so far having first endured Sanbi's close line in water of all places and now his powerful hit.
"Sanji-kun," called out a concerned Nami.
"Sanji…" said Chopper who then turned to Sanbi enraged.
"You bastard, walking point," said Chopper now in his fastest form, his full reindeer form.
Chopper then began running towards Sanbi at full speed, turning into arm point just as he was close to him.
"Arm Point," said Chopper now in Arm Point.
"Kokutei Ros…" said Chopper ready to initiate his attack but was suddenly grabbed by Sanbi.
Sanbi then began slamming Chopper repeatedly down on the ground until he appeared unconscious.
"Chopper," said Nami at seeing yet another nakama quickly beaten.
"I told you I will grant you your wish for death didn't I. So now I shall do just that," said Sanbi menacingly.
Nami had an absolutely terrified look. Most of the strongest of her nakama were beaten and now there was no one who could protect her.
"This is it for you," said Sanbi who now had water dripping from his hand.
"Nami!" called out Robin.
"Nami-san!" called out Brook.
"Die," said Sanbi who then threw the drop of water like a bullet.
The water bullet was about to hit Nami who closed her eyes and screamed from terror when it was suddenly intercepted by something else.
Nami finally opened her eyes to see that she was indeed alive and that Sanbi didn't kill her.
"I – I – I'm alive," said Nami shocked that she was not dead and in fact still alive.
"Nami," said Ussop.
"Nami-san," said Sanji happy that she was alive.
"What just happened, what saved her?" asked Chopper who regained consciousness.
"Wait a minute, this presence," said Zoro sensing a new presence on the battlefield.
"This guy its …" said Sanji also sensing the person.
"You," finished Sanbi.
"It looks like I arrived just in time," the voice said.
"Wait, that voice," said Franky.
"You're right it's …" said Usopp.
Nami had a happy smile on her face from having just been saved.
"Jinbe-chan," said a grateful Nami.
"Jinbe," said Usopp and Chopper.
"Jinbe-san," said Hachi.
"Jinbe," said Neptune.
"Jinbe-sama," said Shirahoshi.
The Neptune family along with Hachi, Keimi and Pappug were still present watching the battle due to how important it was. They knew that Sanbi would not target them until the Straw Hats were defeated and they were sure that the Straw Hats would win. And they needed to watch the battle since it was an important one. But that still didn't mean that they weren't amazed by Sanbi's awesome power. They all remembered the New Fishman Pirates and how strong and brutal they were effortlessly defeating even the three Neptune brothers who were the strongest of Fishman Island. The Straw Hats arrived and easily took them out. And yet one individual was actually giving the Straw Hats such a hard time. They did not know if what they were seeing was actually real yet they knew it was. Sanbi was an elite revolutionary and he certainly lived up to it. If he wasn't on the side of the revolutionary army, then they would have been very proud of him, that a fishman could achieve such incredible power without relying on shortcuts.
Jinbe himself stood there with water dripping from his hands in a similar manner to Sanbi. He just used his water shot to stop Sanbi's thus saving Nami. It must have been fate because with all the pain that Jinbe indirectly caused her by unleashing Arlong onto the East Blue, he now saved her from certain death.
The Straw Hats and the Neptune family weren't the only ones surprised at his arrival. Many of the citizens of Fishman Island were watching the fantastic battle between the Straw Hats and the Knight of D. To them it was the greatest battle they had ever seen because the Straw Hats completely dominated the New Fishman Pirates who alone took care of the entire Ryuuga Kingdom army. Now just one individual was actually holding his own against the Straw Hats. It made them wonder who the mystery individual was and the fact that he was a fishman made them even more curious.
"It's Jinbe, the ex-Shichbukai, he's back," said a citizen.
"But why though, last I check he left because he no longer had amnesty from the world government and to ensure that Big Mam doesn't attack us?" asked another citizen.
"But how can he have amnesty when the world government was overthrown. And he doesn't need to protect us from Big Mam since she's dead. So the question still remains, why?" another citizen asked.
The Shichbukai were powerful pirates that were sanctioned by the world government and Jinbe was one of them. This meant that he could stay and protect Fishman Island. But when he resigned he forfeited that right and as a result couldn't stay on the island, even though he was well respected and welcomed. Furthermore because of increasing tensions between Fishman Island and Big Mam, Jinbe had to leave to try and appease her. Even though Big Mam decided not to attack them in favor of going after Luffy, there was still no guarantee that she wouldn't attack. And Jinbe had to at least try to reason with her.
But both points were moot though. The world government was overthrown by the revolutionary army so Jinbe didn't have to worry about them. The marines wouldn't come after Jinbe since the world government was overthrown. That meant that Jinbe could return since the main force pursuing him was destroyed. And the same applied with Big Mam. Jinbe didn't have to worry about the Yonko's wrath spreading to Fishman Island since she was dead.
"I also want to know who that fishman in the green cloak is. He's really strong," said a citizen.
"No kidding, I thought Hody and his gang were monsters but this guy makes them all look like nothing. He's actually fighting on par with the Straw Hats. Just who is he?" asked another citizen.
"I still can't believe that there's a fishmen out there that's so strong. It's unfathomable," said another.
Sanbi's power indeed had all the citizens who were watching the battle in awe. His strength was so great it was on par, if not pushing back the Straw Hats. Despite fishmen typically having strength at least ten times that of a human, there was no fishman out there who was really powerful, except for Jinbe. But this mystery fishman, put Jinbe, an ex-Shichbukai's power to shame. Just who was he?
These thoughts also crossed Jinbe's minds who voiced the question.
"You, just who are you?" asked Jinbe.
Sanbi was silent before answering.
"Isonade D Sanbi of the Knights of D," replied Sanbi.
"The what?" asked Jinbe curiously.
"They're a group of elite revolutionaries who are all Ds," said Nami.
"D huh, then this guy is definitely going to give us a lot of trouble," said Jinbe.
"Believe me Jinbe, that's an underestimate. This guy's just so strong," said Sanji.
"Speaking of which Jinbe-san, what are you doing here?" asked Sanji.
"I'm here to protect Fishman Island. The world is in chaos with the overthrow of the world government and since Big Mam is dead, there is no one really protecting Fishman Island. So myself and the Sun Pirates came back to protect it" replied Jinbe.
"Well you came back just in time because we could really use some help against this guy," said Sanji.
"I'm not too sure what's going on, but since he attacked one of you, that means that he's my enemy. Speaking of which," said Jinbe turning to Sanbi.
"You said that you were a Knight of D, an elite revolutionary. So what does the revolutionary army want here?" asked Jinbe.
"I'm here for Shirahoshi and her power," replied Sanbi.
Jinbe then had a worried look on his face.
"So it is as I feared, the world knows about princess Shirahoshi's power and now the revolutionary army wants to take her," said Jinbe.
"Lord Dragon has known about her power for a while, even before she was even born," said Sanbi.
"What are you talking about?" asked Jinbe.
"It doesn't matter Jinbe-san. What's important is that we stop him from taking Shirahoshi-chan away," said Sanji.
"Yeah," replied Jinbe who turned his attention back to Sanbi.
"If you think that I'll let you take Shirahoshi-hime away, then you're sadly mistaken," said Jinbe.
"Oh don't worry you wouldn't be able to stop me," replied Sanbi.
"We'll see about that," said Jinbe.
"You will alright. You wouldn't be able to stop me because you'll be too busy battling someone else," said Sanbi.
"Huh …" said Jinbe confused before he was cut off by a powerful kick that sent him into a building.
"Jinbe," said Usopp.
"Jinbe," said Franky before turning to the source of the kick.
"What the, guys we've got company," said Franky.
All the Straw Hats turned to the figure in question who was wearing a blue cloak.
"Black revolutionary clothes and a dark blue cloak, everyone be careful, that person is a revolutionary commander!" shouted Robin.
"W – W – What did you just say," stuttered Usopp.
"A revolutionary commander, here of all places," said Chopper.
"Damn it, we were just barely holding our own against Sanbi and now we have to handle a commander as well," said Zoro.
The Straw Hats had similar thoughts to Zoro. Sanbi was pushing them back with brute force, incredible mastery over fishman karate and the power of D. Things were bad enough as it was and now they have to face a commander as well. It seemed that luck was really against them. They all remembered they're first battle against the revolutionary army against the two commanders Doflamingo and Drake and how strong both of them were. Now in addition to facing the mighty power of a Knight of D, they have to face a commander as well, things were now even worse than before.
"C – C – Commander, that's it we're dead," stuttered Usopp.
The Straw Hats didn't say anything but knew that there was a good chance that he was right. With a commander teaming up with a Knight, they may very well die now.
They're thoughts were soon interrupted by the sound of footsteps.
"That was a really powerful kick there. Whoever you are, you're definitely very strong," commended Jinbe who recovered.
Anything else Jinbe had to say was cut short at seeing the face of the commander. He along with several other people let out gasps of surprise at the identity of the commander. It was someone they all knew very well, someone who all members and former members of the Sun pirates knew.
"I – I – It can't be, that's…" stuttered Hachi who couldn't finish his sentence.
"You…" said Aladdin equally surprised.
Despite all the Sun Pirates looking absolutely shocked at the new entrance, none were more so than Jinbe himself.
"K – K – K – Koala," stuttered Jinbe at seeing the young girl they took in so long ago.
Bombshell, another revolutionary commander is present, and that commander is none other than Koala. Things are really picking up now.
Well first onto the question and answer section.
I'm glad that everyone seems to have enjoyed the whole Kamishoku and Haki Enslavement thing. To be honest, even though it was a unique concept that required a lot of thinking, I wasn't sure how everyone would react to it given how technical it was and how much reading it required. I tried to dramatize it by adding some history of Darcia in it and other things such as Luffy's quick mastery over it. I'm glad everyone seems to have understood it.
Someone asked if Luffy's mom will be revealed. The answer is yes, we will find out more about Saint Cassandra, the mother of Luffy later in this story. Be patient, you'll find out more about her later.
Someone also asked about if the Straw Hats are going to get any stronger or anything to give them the edge. Well the only way they get stronger is as Oda's One Piece continues and more attacks are posted on One Piece wiki. I use that to write the battle scenes. Otherwise, the Straw Hats have the edge in numbers and teamwork. The Straw Hats will only face one Knight at a time so they would have a chance. And they'll only face two commanders, or a commander and Special Weapon, but they'll only face odds that they can actually handle. So they'll never really be too overwhelmed.
Readers seem to be under the impression that I am constantly just giving the Revolutionary Army power up upon power up. That isn't true, the only real power up per say is giving them more Commanders and Special Weapons and that is because I have several important storylines that require elite revolutionaries to serve in. Also with 13 Knights I need enough Commanders and Special Weapons to balance them out. That means that there must be at least 14 commanders and no more than 12 Special Weapons.
With regards to the Revolutionary Army getting stronger, they only really got stronger in two instances, first after killing Big Mom, Kaido and Shanks. At that time, they seized their land, treasure, resources, ships, enslaved pirates under them, etc. The second time they got stronger was after the Invasion of Mariejois. Likewise they stripped Mariejois and Marine Headquarters of anything and everything useful, treasure, money, resources, ships, anything. So because of that the Revolutionary Army got a ton of resources to bolster it. As for the Knights, Special Weapons and Commanders, I didn't just add them to the Army, they were always part of the Army, just that Dragon kept them secret. In the story, I slowly revealed each power of the Army. For example, I revealed fairly early about the power of the Knights, we already knew about the commanders and later during the Kaien Kingdom arc I revealed the Special Weapons. As the story progresses I reveal more about the revolutionary army such as their philosophy, income source, past activities etc.
Someone mentioned about how people the Luffy met will react and if I'll show them. Chances are that'll be no. I'd rather keep the focus on the Straw Hats than diverge too much. I think more people would rather see the Straw Hats fight an elite revolutionary, some major revelation revealed or something else than see how these background characters react. I'll imagine that Dadan and Makino are going to take this hard considering they knew Luffy ever since he was a child. The people of Cocoyashi Village, they probably hate him because they know that his actions undoubtedly hurt Nami, the one who struggled for eight years to free them and Genzo threatened to kill Luffy should he ever take Nami's smile away.
I don't think I'll give Luffy the flame flame fruit. I explained before that if I give Luffy more than one devil fruit, then it meant that he has the atypical body structure. And if Luffy has it, then Dragon suppose to have it as well. The problem is what devil fruit could I give Dragon. I mean the guy has a devil fruit that combines several powerful forces of nature, he has probably the most powerful devil fruit in existence. There is just nothing I could give him and the dragon dragon mythical zoan fruit was already eaten by Sabo so that is out. Also giving Luffy Ace's fruit will sort of ruin his fighting style and Luffy already has the fire based Red Hawk move so I don't see the point of giving Luffy the flame flame fruit.
This fic wasn't meant to bash anyone especially not Dragon. In this fic Dragon is equivalent to Madara Uchiha from Naruto or Yhwach from Bleach, the absolute strongest, most badass character, virtually a god, the final villain, the biggest influence on the story. To say I'm bashing Dragon for his actions is to say that Kishimoto is bashing Madara for making Obito do all those terrible things or Kubo bashing Yhwach for him destroying Soul Society and his other crimes. Neither Kishimoto or Kubo are bashing Madara or Yhwach so I'm not bashing Dragon. I mean why would bash Dragon when I made him the strongest character in this fic, gave him the strongest devil fruit, gave him so many powerful subordinates, etc.
Revolutionary Commander Metroid. Revolutionary Commander Metroid has the steel steel fruit allowing him to turn his body into steel. I decided to change his name to Tron instead. I just think Tron sounds better. This change will be reflected in chapter 37 "Profile of the Revolutionary Army."
Before I explain the following points, those who haven't read chapter 37 "Profile of the Revolutionary Army" I advise you to do so otherwise you wouldn't understand the following points.
Commanders, Knights and Special Weapons. In terms of quantity, what I want is that the commanders get the most members, then the Knights and finally the Special Weapons. This is because the "more common" the group, the more members it has. The Special Weapons have powers that are so unique that it is almost impossible to find anyone with similar powers. As such they are the rarest group and have the least members. The Knights despite their great power aren't that unique. They are all pretty much just brute force on an extraordinary level, they have incredible power but still nothing special. The commanders have neither the raw power of the Knights nor uniqueness of the Special Weapons. Hence the commanders have the most members.
Number of members of each Elite Revolutionary group. I already explained that the commanders have the most members, followed by the Knights and then the Special Weapons which has the least number of members. That means that the number of Special Weapons will never be greater than 12. I think 13 is a good number for the Knights of D. As such the commanders will have at least 14 members, discounting deceased commanders like Ivankov and defected ones like Trafalgar Law.
Battles involving the Revolutionary Army. Right now the revolutionary army is by far the strongest organization in the world. They have the strongest warriors, a lot of resources etc. That should mean that it would be impossible for the Straw Hats to handle them. I plan to get around that by never having the Straw Hats face foes they can't handle. The Straw Hats are going to face either a Knight or a combination of two commanders or a commander and a Special Weapon. This way, the revolutionary army will provide a major challenge to the Straw Hats without being two overwhelming for them. Let's face it, if I have say 5 commanders fight at the same time, it will just be a one sided battle and there wouldn't be much story there to write.
Straw Hats vs the Knights of D. Whenever the Straw Hats battle a Knight, that Knight will be by himself, not counting foot soldiers and other fodder. The Knights are incredibly powerful so if a Knight teams up with any other elite revolutionary, the Straw Hats will get destroyed. But if the Straw Hats face a single Knight by himself, they should be able to handle him. In this story, if the Straw Hats face a Knight, said Knight will be alone. That way the Straw Hats will never really be overwhelmed.
Straw Hats vs Special Weapons. The Special Weapons have unique abilities, but not much raw power. So a Special Weapon will be teamed up with a commander to take on the Straw Hats. The commander will provide the power and the Special Weapon provide the support. This way the Straw Hats are only facing two elite revolutionaries, which they could handle. The Special Weapons will never get the help of more than one commander because then, three elite revolutionaries will be too much for the Straw Hats. Likewise the Special Weapons will never team up with a Knight because they'll destroy the Straw Hats.
Straw Hats vs Commanders. As Zoro and Sanji are the two strongest fighters, I plan on having two commanders team up to take on the Straw Hats (provided there are no Special Weapons nearby). One commander to take on Zoro's group and another to take on Sanji's group. More than two commanders will be too much for the Straw Hats since Zoro and Sanji will be preoccupied so I never plan to have the Straw Hats take on more than two commanders. Also a Commander and Knight will never be paired up because then the pair will be far too strong for the Straw Hats.
Why am I having Koala team up with Sanbi? I did say that I'll always have a Knight face the Straw Hats alone. So why am I adding a commander? If Koala who is a revolutionary commander teams up with Sanbi, then they'll crush the Straw Hats with ease. The answer is Jinbe. Jinbe is here so he could take on Koala while the rest of the Straw Hats handle Sanbi.
Number of arcs in this fic. This fic is going to be huge, possibly the longest One Piece fanfic around. As there are so many elite revolutionaries (Knights, commanders and Special Weapons) they'll have to be a number of arcs to accommodate all of them. Don't worry I have a number of storylines to cover various issues of One Piece. For example I have an arc planned for Hancock, an arc planned for Elbaf, one explaining the orcs, one for elves, an arc planned explaining the naval forces of the revolutionary army, an arc revealing the mythical All Blue, an arc revealing Garp's fate, an arc revealing the history behind Roger and Dragon and a number of other arcs. Don't worry, no revolutionary will just be written off like that. Some arcs such as the current "Return to Fishman Island" arc is going to be longer and darker than others but still each arc should be entertaining and fun. They'll each get their moment to shine. Each Knight will get an arc for themselves while commanders and Special Weapons will be paired off.
Final Holy War Saga. This fic is meant to be my version of the Final Saga of One Piece, the one whereby the massive war takes place. Just as how there is the Baroque Works Saga, CP9 Saga and Whitebeard War Saga, this fic can be considered the Final Holy War Saga of One Piece. And just as how the Baroque Words Saga consists of the Whiskey Peak Arc, Little Garden Arc, Drum Kingdom Arc and Alabasta Kingdom Arc and how the Whitbeard War Saga consists of the Thriller Bark Arc, Sabody Archipelago Arc, Amazon Lily Arc, Impel Down Arc and Marineford Arc, this Final Holy War Saga is going to be made up of a number of arcs, the Invasion of Mariejois Arc, Kaien Kingdom Arc, Return to Fishman Island Arc and the rest of the arcs.
Why is this fic so long. This fic is so long for a number of reasons. First is that as it is my version of the final saga of One Piece it is suppose to feel like Oda's One Piece. So it is expected to have fair development, plot twists, suspense, drama etc. Second as it is the final saga, all loose ends need to be cleared up. I've cleared several things that Oda hasn't done yet, the Truth about Kuma, what the Will of D is, a bit about the Void Century. Much more will come in the future. Finally all the arcs are important and have some role in this fic and each arc needs a revolutionary villain which is why there are so many commanders.
Well that's that, now onto notes about the chapter itself.
Sanbi's power. Remember in chapter 50 "The Power of Isonade D Sanbi," it was shown that Sanbi is the greatest fishman karate and merman combat user in history. It was explained in that chapter that Sanbi's skill is so great that he can actually convert the water particles in the air to actual water which is something no other fishman or merman could do. That was how he was able to use ultramarine despite being on land, not underwater. Also his ultramarine is huge, the fact that Sanbi who is a hulking juggernaut could actually swim in the water column is an indication as to how large and powerful it is. And given he can use it like that on land of all places is an indicator as to how great his mastery over fishman karate and merman combat truly is.
Sanbi stopping Usopp's attack. Sanbi again shows his mastery over fishman karate by not only stopping Usopp's shuriken attack but redirecting it. Both Jinbe and Sanbi are capable of stopping attacks by creating shockwaves using the water vapor in the air. However Sanbi unlike Jinbe is able to actually send the attacks back to the enemy. This is something that even Jinbe cannot do. Jinbe can stop attacks but not redirect them. This once again just shows how much more powerful Sanbi is than Jinbe. He outclasses Jinbe in both raw power and mastery over fishman karate.
Jinbe's back. Jinbe is an important character in the Fishman Island arc so it was important that he return in the Return to Fishman Island Arc.
Jinbe saving Nami. I could have had Jinbe save any of the Straw Hats but I chose Nami because Jinbe saving her would be symbolic. Remember that because Jinbe didn't stop Arlong that he was allowed to rampage in East Blue and enslave Nami and Cocoyashi Village. So Jinbe indirectly was the cause of Nami's eight years of suffering. Now by saving her, it is like he is making up for that. He caused Nami to suffer, so now he is saving her. It is symbolic of Jinbe's redemption.
Reasons why Jinbe could not stay on Fishman Island before. The reason Jinbe originally couldn't stay on Fishman Island was because his Shichbukai status was revoked and he no longer had amnesty from the world government. So he couldn't stay on Fishman Island despite being well respected. However that doesn't matter since the world government was overthrown. The second and perhaps bigger reason was because of Big Mam. Before her death at Luffy's hands, Jinbe and his crew were allied to her and she in turn protected Fishman Island in exchange for candy. However because Hody's men destroyed the factory, they couldn't offer Big Mam any sweats and she in turn would destroy Fishman Island for it. Luckily Luffy took the blame and Big Mam offered to instead turn her wrath over to Luffy. So Fishman Island was safe. However Jinbe couldn't be sure because even though Luffy took responsibility for Big Mam not getting any candy, that wouldn't exactly stop Big Mam from attacking. Jinbe just couldn't take the chance that Big Mam would stick to her word and not attack Fishman Island. So he had to leave Fishman Island to make sure she doesn't attack. But that doesn't matter anymore because she's dead.
Why Jinbe came back. Jinbe was not on Fishman Island to see the aftermath of the Revolutionary Army's overthrow of the world government so he was not able to see how it benefitted Fishman Island. He knows that all the pirates are afraid of the army, but unlike the Straw Hats, he doesn't know that the army is capturing and enslaving them. So he thinks that pirates are running amok on Fishman Island. And since Big Mam is dead, Fishman Island lost the protection of a Yonko which is essentially the main thing as far as he knew that was keeping peace on Fishman Island. So he came back in order to protect Fishman Island. He just coincidently or by fate arrived during the battle against Sanbi and saved Nami just in time.
Spectators watching the battle. Originally the only ones watching the fight were Vivi, Shirahoshi, King Neptune, the three Neptune Brothers, Hachi, Keimi and Pappug. However as the battle progressed more people began watching. When you have a colossal battle going on, it's only natural that spectators will join. I just didn't mention it earlier till now. By the way the rest of the Sun Pirates are now watching as well.
According to Sanbi, Dragon knew about Shirahoshi's power before she was ever born. This is again due to his vast knowledge of the void century. Dragon is more intimately knowledgeable about the void century than anyone which is how he knew about Shirahoshi's power. He knows about Poseidon's power. He even knew when Poseidon would have been reincarnated. He just didn't know which mermaid was Poseidon. In other words, he knew Poseidon would have been reincarnated, but he didn't know that it was specifically Shirahoshi.
Who is Koala? If you all remember Jinbe's flashback during the Fishman Island arc, Koala was a young slave girl that Fisher Tiger took in and brought her back to her home. However the people there betrayed Tiger to the marines in exchange for overlooking Koala being the property of the Tenryuubito. This led to Tiger being heavily wounded and he chose to deny a transfusion of human blood, resulting in his death. Now that same little girl is back, back as a young woman and a revolutionary commander.
Koala's age. Koala was a little girl in Jinbe's flashback however now she is a young woman. As for her age, Luffy is supposed to be the youngest in the entire army. So Koala's age would be around Sabo's perhaps a little older or younger, but still close. Regardless she is older than Luffy though.
Why Koala wasn't in chapter 37. Koala wasn't in chapter 37 "Profile of the Revolutionary Army" because I wanted to keep her a surprise. Also the profile consists of mostly my OCs. If you noticed Doflamingo, Drake and Hawkins weren't in the profile. Sabo, Luffy, Dragon and Blackbeard are present in the profile despite not being my own characters because of their high ranking positions as Knights in the Revolutionary Army and extreme importance to the story.
Yet another mystery solved, what happened to Koala. Oda never showed how Koala reacted or what happened to her after Tiger's death. Now we know. She joined the revolutionary army. This fic is meant to tie up loose ends and Koala is one of them.
Well that's the end of the notes. As usual I appreciate your reviews as always.
