Truth about Fisher Tiger Revealed

The next chapter of One Piece: Final Holy War is out. Read and enjoy and leave a review behind.

Jinbe was in a fighting stance ready to fight Koala. He truly didn't want to fight the little girl who now blossomed into a beautiful strong young woman but he had to. She was a revolutionary commander who wanted to take Shirahoshi-hime away and despite his personal feelings for the woman, he had to stop her.

Koala ran towards Jinbe and attempted a running kick however Jinbe blocked it successfully. She attempted another one but it was blocked again. But this was followed up by a punch to Jinbe's stomach which took him by surprise. Seeing an opening she then delivered a series of fast punches to Jinbe's midsection finishing off with a jumping knee kick to his chin which knocked him off his feet and onto the ground. However Jinbe was fine and got up without any trouble.

"You've gotten strong Koala," commented Jinbe impressed at how strong she had gotten.

"Yes, I'm not the same weak little girl I was back then who couldn't do anything for Tiger-san," replied Koala.

"Tiger-san's death wasn't your fault," said Jinbe.

"It is my fault. If only I was strong enough, then I could have found my way back home by myself instead of Tiger-san having to take me back. Then Tiger-san would never have gotten killed," replied Koala.

"You were only a little girl at the time. No one would have blamed you for not being able to do anything," rebutted Jinbe.

"That may be so but it doesn't change the fact about what happened to Tiger-san. But if we use the mermaid princess's power, then we can prevent what happened to him from ever happening again. Humans will never look down on fishmen again," said Koala.

"I wouldn't let you take princess Shirahoshi away," said Jinbe determinedly.

Jinbe then began running towards Koala and jumped into the air to deliver a straight mid air punch.

"She's going to come with us," said Koala.

"Just try," said Jinbe.

Jinbe tried to deliver a straight punch to Koala who countered Jinbe's punch with a punch of her own. The two fists connected resulting in a shockwave forming around both of them.

While Jinbe and Koala were fighting, the Straw Hats were busy with Sanbi. However they couldn't help but observe the battle between the two and marveled at how Koala was holding her own against Jinbe. They all knew that Jinbe was very strong since he was an ex-Shichbukai and they saw him in action during the battle against the New Fishman Pirates. So the fact that Koala was actually fighting on par with him did indicate her high level of strength.

"That woman is pretty good," commented Sanji surprisingly not in his usual love struck self whenever he saw a beautiful woman.

Koala was a beautiful woman but her strength level along with the fact that they were involved in a big battle allowed Sanji to snap out of his lovefest.

"She is, after all I trained her," said Sanbi.

This got everyone's attention.

"You trained her," said Sanji.

"That's right, I trained her, taught her how to fight, how to become strong," said Sanbi.

"It was her resolve. Her resolve was great. She was willing to leave her family and friends behind due to their crimes. She was willing to give up a comfortable happy life, something that she was denied of ever since she was very young in order to hold on to her bonds with Fisher Tiger and the Sun Pirates. It was really admirable," explained Sanbi.

"But it wasn't just that, it was her love for the Sun Pirates. Humans look down on fishmen but not her. She admired them, even loved them. That was something almost completely unheard of. A human much less a little girl willing to go off on her own because of her admiration for fishmen. It was an event that I thought I would never see but I did, in the form of Koala," continued Sanbi.

"I couldn't just leave that little human to herself, not when she gave up everything because she treasured the bonds she had with fishmen. She wanted to make a difference, she wanted the two races to live peacefully together, she wanted what I wanted, good relations between the two. The fact that she was a human made me want to take her with me even more. So I did just that," continued Sanbi.

"I took her with me and trained her, made her stronger so that she could help make her dream and mine a reality," finished Sanbi.

"If you trained her does that mean…" said Robin who stopped halfway in her sentence.

"Yes it does," answered Sanbi to Robin's unfinished question.

Jinbe and Koala were continuing their own battle. Jinbe delivered a massive punch to Koala sending her flying back. Koala however landed gracefully on her feet but Jinbe was now running towards her. He jumped into the air and tried to hit her but Koala evaded the attack resulting in Jinbe just hitting the ground and damaging it. Koala then ran towards Jinbe and delivered a powerful punch which was blocked by Jinbe. However the punch was augmented by the speed at which Koala ran towards him flying Jinbe back.

Jinbe landed on his feet however which was impressive due to his size. However Jinbe was surprised when Koala suddenly appeared directly infront of him and delivered a powerful kick to his head sending him flying back. Jinbe landed on his feet again though the sheer power from Koala's kick and the resulting pain did stun him enough for Koala to quickly close the distance between the two. She got into a two handed stance and began spinning around delivering a series of spinning kicks to Jinbe. Still in her hand stance she pushed her legs forward knocking Jinbe back and then ended with a powerful punch to his mid section.

While the battle between Jinbe and Koala was going on, the residents of Ryuuga Kingdom could not believe that Koala was actually winning against Jinbe.

"I can't believe it, that human woman is actually pushing Jinbe-oyabin back," said a citizen.

"That shouldn't be possible," said another citizen.

"But didn't you hear. That fishman Sanbi did say that he trained her so it should be expected that she's so strong," replied a citizen.

"I guess that's true and that Sanbi person is actually holding his own against all the Straw Hats by himself despite how strong they all are," said a fishman.

"But still, Jinbe-oyabin is a former member of the Shichbukai so for anyone to be able to go toe to toe with him, it's just …" said another citizen who didn't finish since everyone around him already got the message.

The three Neptune brothers and their father, King Neptune himself was also watching Jinbe's and Koala's battle and were also in awe at her strength.

"So that's the little girl from Jinbe's letter," said Neptune.

The three brothers turned to their father.

"Father," questioned Fukaboshi.

"Not many people on Fishman Island outside the former members of the Sun Pirates know about what really happened to Fisher Tiger. Myself and your mother were one of the few besides them who knew the truth. Jinbe sent me a letter telling us what really happened on the day Fisher Tiger died. That letter told us about Koala, the human slave girl that they took back to her home," answered Neptune.

"I see so that woman is the same one from Jinbe-san's letter," said Fukaboshi.

"That's right," said Neptune.

"By the way father," said Fukaboshi.

"Hm," came from Neptune turning to his eldest son.

"What exactly happened to Fisher Tiger? That letter you got from Jinbe-san told you the truth about him. But I thought that he died because humans didn't want to give him a blood transfusion," said Fukaboshi who was beginning to deduce that something was off about the story of Fisher Tiger's death.

"So what happened father? You know because that letter told you," asked Fukaboshi.

Neptune looked at his son silently and noted that his two other sons Ryuboshi and Manoboshi were also looking at him intently wanting to hear if the story they all knew about Tiger's death was the truth or if it was something else. The death of Fisher Tiger heavily affected all members of Ryuuga Kingdom so if what they all knew about Fisher Tiger dieing because he was denied a transfusion of blood from humans was indeed a lie, then it would change everything.

Neptune closed his eyes as if contemplating the answer. He then opened it before answering.

"I'm afraid it is not my place to answer that. The only ones who have that right would be those really close to Tiger," was Neptune's reply.

The three brothers looked hesitant wanting to know more before Fukaboshi relented.

"I understand father," said Fukaboshi.

The two brothers turned to their elder brother in surprise.

"Fukaboshi-neesan don't you want to know what really happened to him?" asked Ryuboshi.

"Yeah, he was this island's hero so everyone should know," said Manoboshi.

"That may be so but we didn't really know him well enough," replied Fukaboshi.

Seeing the questioning looks of his two younger siblings Fukaboshi chose to elaborate.

"The entire island knows Fisher Tiger as the hero who freed the slaves but no one except for his ex crewmates really knew him personally. They were the ones certainly most heavily affected by his death and most likely know the real story if what we all know isn't true. But we never knew him. They however were freed by him and were his nakama. As his nakama and the ones who know him best, they, not us have the right to decide whether the citizens of this country should know the truth or not," explained Fukaboshi.

The younger two Neptune siblings chose not to comment. They knew Fisher Tiger, the hero of Fishman Island who freed the slaves, but they didn't know him on a personal level so they weren't really affected by his death that much. His nakama however lost their captain and benefactor so his death was a much more painful blow to them. As his nakama and the ones who knew him best, they were the only ones who deserved to tell anyone what really happened to Fisher Tiger. And they had to respect that. Tiger himself would have wanted them to respect the decisions made by his crewmates and by doing that, they are still honouring the hero's memory.

Meanwhile the battle between Jinbe and Koala continued. Koala was sent flying back by Jinbe and bounced on the ground a few times though she did land on her feet. However Jinbe quickly closed the distance between the two and punched Koala hard in the stomach then placed both his hands together and slammed it down hard on Koala's back forcing her to the ground. Koala however swept her foot knocking Jinbe off his feet and then brought her foot down with a powerful axe kick. The kick hit Jinbe hard and Koala went for another one but Jinbe caught it.

"Enough," he said and then hurled Koala around and then flung her at a far distance.

Koala landed on her feet easily but saw Jinbe using his webbed arms to make a sweeping motion.

"Uchimizu," said Jinbe who sent several water droplets and Koala at high speed.

Koala countered by surprisingly using a move that he knew well. She sent several water droplets of her own that cancelled out Jinbe's.

"That's …" said Jinbe in shock.

"Fishman Karate," finished Sanbi both to Jinbe's shock and Robin's earlier deduction.

"You're telling me you taught her fishman karate even though she isn't a fishman," said Sanji.

"That's right, as she was my apprentice, I taught her everything she knows including my own fighting style, fishman karate along with merman kombat," said Sanbi.

"Fishman Karate is meant for fishmen while Mermen Combat is meant for mermen. Neither are meant for humans but that didn't matter to Koala. Her drive to make this world a better safer place for fishman more than compensated for her physical and biological limitations. She might not be a fishman in body, but her spirit is strong. And that makes her far stronger than any other fishman," said Sanbi proudly.

Sanbi began to reminisce on the times he spent training the young female to become the commander that she was today.

"I watched as she struggled to become strong using the fighting style of fishmen. There were many times she failed and I couldn't blame her. Both styles are not meant for humans and I didn't feel any disappointment for her lack of progress," said Sanbi remembering Koala's struggle to master both fighting styles.

"I wanted to train her but not at the use of my fighting styles since they're only meant for fishman and merfolk but it didn't stop her. She trained harder than I thought possible and eventually achieved an incredible level of mastery. Despite not being a fishmen, she achieved in her short lifetime what most fishmen and mermen trained their entire lives to achieve. She relied on her own will to not only overcome the fact that she wasn't a fishmen but also to become stronger than most fishmen. I am truly proud of her and do not regret ever taking her under my wing," explained Sanbi on Koala's resolve to master his fighting styles.

The rest of the Straw Hats were in awe at Koala's resolve. They all had great resolve since it was what all pushed them to reach this far and admired people who held similar resolve, two of them being Vivi and Shirahoshi and now Koala was added to that list. Despite not being a fishman, she was able to learn a skill that was not even supposed to be used by her species, yet her resolve was so strong that it overcame that deficiency. If it wasn't for the fact that she was an enemy, then they were sure that they would have been great friends, especially since she like them wanted fishmen and mermen to get along.

"Koala that was fishman karate you just used, how are you able to use it despite not being a fishman?" said Jinbe still stunned over seeing a human use fishman karate as masterfully as Koala did.

"Sanbi-sama is the strongest user of both fishman karate and mermen combat in history. No one, not even you can surpass him. So when he trained me, he naturally made sure that I was a strong user of both styles," replied Koala.

"I wanted to be like him, Tiger-san, I wanted to be just like him. Since he's a fishman, then if I learn fishman karate, then I would be strong just like him. Sanbi-sama gave me just that. He trained me in the art of both fishman karate and mermen combat despite me being neither. He made me into the strongest that I could be. It is thanks to him that I am as strong as I am and that I can use fishman karate and merman contact as well as I can. I wouldn't have made it this far if it wasn't for him," said Koala.

Jinbe, the Straw Hats and everyone on Fishman Island were surprised at this. All of them thought that the reason she was such a highly skilled user of both styles was because of who her teacher was, Sanbi. They didn't consider that it was because of her admiration for Tiger that she was so strong. However it really shouldn't have been that much of a surprise for them. She admired Tiger more than anyone else, even leaving her family behind despite not seeing them for years because she admired him. So it was to be expected that she emulate her father figure by learning the fighting style of Tiger's people. Her admiration for Tiger and her desire to help fishmen was so great that it made her into a master of fishman karate and merman combat. Tiger had numerous admires many of whom were former slaves but none of them held such deep admiration that it pushed them so far to become strong. Koala despite not being a fishman had far more than any of them.

A fishman was walking closer to the battlefield. There was the symbol of the sun on his body showing that he was a former member of the Sun Pirates. As a former member of the Sun Pirates, he knew Koala personally and couldn't believe just how much Koala changed. And even more unbelievable was that her change was due to Fisher Tiger's death. Every single one of them were heavily affected by his death but none of them took it as badly as she did.

"Koala," said the slave sadly at seeing how much the girl now revolutionary commander changed due to their ex captain's death.

He wasn't the only one thinking that as all members and former members of the Sun Pirates had similar thoughts.

"Koala, just how much did Tiger-san's death affect you?" question Alladin equally as saddened as the rest of the crew.

"Nyu this isn't right, Koala-chan shouldn't be like this," said Hachi who had a few tears in his eyes.

However Jinbe was affected by this the most. Amongst the entire crew, he was probably closest to Tiger as Tiger confided into him some of his darker thoughts and he was also the one who succeeded him as captain and who tried to spread his beliefs the most. And as Tiger was the one who made the decision regarding Koala, he being the closest to him was also the one most affected at Koala's new character.

"Tiger-san, are you watching this? On your death bed you mentioned how much you hated humans and could never accept them due to your past as a slave. But Koala has been affected so much by your death. I thought we all grieved about your death but our pain was nothing compared to hers. She become so strong and even learnt our fighting style because of you. What would you think if you saw her now Tiger-san? What would you think if you knew that she became like this because she misses you and wanted our people to live together with humans?" said Jinbe quietly to his deceased captain Fisher Tiger.

Koala and Jinbe engaged each other in melee combat. Both were just attacking each other and avoiding the other's attacks. Jinbe due to his size was unable to dodge very well and was not someone who used kicking based moves a lot but his large size and strength allowed him to block most of Koala's moves. Koala was smaller and faster and utilized high speed combinations of punches and kicks and because of her small size compared to Jinbe's was able to dodge most of Jinbe's punches.

The two were roughly even and neither held any real advantage over the other. Koala jumped back several feet and got into fighting stance.

"Is she also …" said Jinbe surprised at what Koala was about to do.

Koala then punched the air causing the water vapor to create a shockwave that quickly advanced towards Jinbe. Jinbe reacted by punching the air himself releasing a shockwave of his own.

"Karukusagawara Seiken," said Jinbe using the water vapor in the air to create a shockwave that advanced towards Koala's.

The two shockwaves collided with each other causing a much larger shockwave to form eventually cancelling each other out.

"I'm very impressed Koala, there are very few fishmen out there capable of manipulating the water vapor in the air and the few who can take years to master that skill. For you to be able to do it at your age, it's amazing," complimented Jinbe.

"Thanks Jinbe-san, that really means a lot coming from you. I trained hard under Sanbi-sama to be a great user of fishman karate so that I can be strong just like all of you, so that I could help Lord Dragon and Sanbi-sama create a world where fishman would never suffer persecution and prevent what happened to Tiger-san from ever happening again," replied Koala.

"Koala Tiger-san's death was not your fault," said Jinbe.

"It was besides, even if it wasn't, it doesn't change the fact that Tiger-san died because of human cruelty and now I am strong enough to punish acts of cruelty," said Koala.

"Do you think this is what Tiger-san would have wanted, do you really believe Tiger-san would want you to violently punish those who harm fishmen? Tiger-san always said that the purpose of the Sun Pirates was freedom and liberation, not revenge like what you're doing," pleaded Jinbe.

"Tiger-san wanted his people to stop suffering because of humans. That's why he invaded Mariejois and freed all of them, so that they would no longer suffer and be free. And we are doing the same thing, we are punishing those who harm fishmen so that they would never think about ever doing it again," replied Koala.

"Then you don't know Tiger-san at all," retorted Jinbe back.

Koala was never present when Jinbe was on his deathbed because she was already returned to her parents so she never heard about Tiger's past and true feelings regarding humans. On the verge of death, Tiger poured his heart and soul out to his nakama about his past as a slave of Mariejois, the demons in his heart and his true feelings of humans. Because he was a slave, he could never get himself to accept humans but he still wanted humans and fishmen to join hands. None of this was ever known to the public because it would have stained his honor so Arlong told the Marines a lie, which the Sun Pirates went along with. So everyone including Koala thought that Tiger died because he was denied a transfusion of human blood.

"Oh I know more about Tiger-san than you think," said Koala.

"What do you mean Koala?" asked Jinbe with worry in his voice.

"The story was that Tiger-san died because humans refused him a blood transfusion, but I know that's a lie," revealed Koala.

Silence filled the entire area, all the citizens watching the battle between the Straw Hats and Sanbi along with Jinbe and Koala were shocked into silence.

"What we read about Tiger-san's death was a lie," said a shocked civilian.

"Tiger-san didn't die because he was denied a blood transfusion," said another shocked civilian.

"Then how did Tiger-san die anyway," said another shocked civilian.

Murmuring began to fill the entire area as the onlookers were now talking amongst themselves about what they just heard. For years they believed that the death of their hero was because humans didn't want to give him blood. They thought humans let him die because he was a fishman and that lead a lot of the residents of Fishman Island to resent humans. Now they found out that their prejudice against humans was based on a lie.

"Koala you're trending on dangerous grounds here. The people cannot know how he died," warned Jinbe.

"Why shouldn't they, part of the reason for the problems between humans and fishmen is because everyone thought that Tiger-san died because humans denied him a blood transfusion," replied Koala.

"That's true but that lie was made to preserve his honor," replied Jinbe.

"And look how that turned out. Fishmen don't want to join hands with humans at all. By keeping the truth from everyone you actually drove fishmen away from humans even further," retorted Koala.

Jinbe didn't reply since he did know that she was right. The people of Ryuuga Kingdom all believed that humans didn't help Tiger because he was a fishman. This in turn made them even more distrustful of them and in turn made it harder for the two races to coexist peacefully. The members of the Sun Pirates believed that if they told the truth, then it would have stained his honor. So they all supported Arlong's lie but it in turn made it almost impossible for fishmen to accept humans and vice versa. The lie of Tiger's death was something that Jinbe began to regret but he still believed that it was necessary.

"Not telling the people the truth did far more harm than good so I'm going to change that," said Koala ready to reveal the truth.

"People of Fishman Island!" shouted Koala out loud enough for everyone to hear.

"No Koala stop, don't do it!" shouted Jinbe trying to get her to stop.

"The truth was," started Koala.

"Stop it Koala!" shouted Jinbe.

"That Tiger-san did not die because humans refused to give him a blood transfusion, he died because he himself chose not to accept it," revealed Koala.

Silence again covered the entire area as the truth finally sunk in. Everyone thought that Fisher Tiger died because humans denied him a blood transfusion but now they just found out that Tiger himself refused the blood. That meant that humans never really killed Tiger exactly the way they thought. But a bigger question was why did Tiger refuse human blood? Why did he choose to die, when he could have taken a transfusion of human blood and live?

"T – Tiger-san refused a blood transfusion of human blood. You mean what we all heard about his death was really a lie," said a civilian.

"But if that's true then why did he refuse human blood," said another civilian.

While the rest of Fishman Island's population was still reacting to the truth about the death of Fisher Tiger, Jinbe however was not happy about it. He would definitely admit that Tiger's death made fishmen resent humans even more but he still did not want the truth of his death revealed. Now however the entire island knew.

"You shouldn't have done that Koala," said Jinbe.

"The people deserved to have known. They needed to know that their hero didn't die the way he did so that they would accept humans," replied Koala.

"How is it that you know what really happened to Tiger-san, I know that no one from among us would have told anyone so how is it that you know?" asked Jinbe.

"Truth is that we didn't, Lord Dragon was able to deduce the truth about his death from the information that he acquired," replied Koala.

Flashback

"Do you need something Sanbi?" asked Dragon.

"Well Lord Dragon, it's just that when I read the recent article regarding the death of Fisher Tiger I noticed some irregularities that for some reason just didn't seem to add up. Koala's story also leads to some even bigger questions about what really happened and I don't think she was lieing, which leads me to believe that the newspapers weren't completely truthful," said Sanbi.

"And you would like to know what really happened," said Dragon knowing what exactly Sanbi was going to say.

"That's right milord," replied Sanbi.

"Alright then but I would like you to bring that girl Koala with you. I think she'll want to hear this as well," said Dragon.

"Yes Dragon-sama," replied Sanbi respectively with a bow.

A few moments later, Sanbi returned accompanied by Koala.

"You wanted to see my Dragon-sama," asked Koala timidly.

"That's correct little one, and I have called both you and Sanbi here to hear the truth about what really happened to the late captain of the Sun Pirates, Fisher Tiger," said Dragon.

"What do you mean Dragon-sama? Tiger-san died because the people of Foolshout Village sold him out to the marines and he died because no one wanted to give him blood," said Koala.

"That's not quite the case," said Dragon.

"W – Wh – What," stuttered Koala confused.

"You should never be so quick as to believe what you read in the newspapers Koala for they are on many occasions not very reliable. Believe me I know, said Dragon.

"But if that's true then how, what really happened to Tiger-san?" asked Koala wanting to know what happened to her benefactor.

"That's the question isn't it. You see I would have never figured it out had you not come along and provided me with information on the Sun Pirates. And it was thanks to your knowledge and personal experience with them that I was able to figure out what truly happened to Fisher Tiger," said Dragon.

"I already said that you should not always believe what you read in the papers and for good reason. The world government covers up information that would threaten them should it become public. But in this case, it was not the world government who chose to hide the truth, but the Sun Pirates themselves who told a lie regarding Fisher Tiger's death," said Dragon.

"Wait those guys lied about how Tiger-san died, why would they do that?" asked Koala.

"To preserve his honor," was Dragon's reply.

"His honor," said Koala questionably.

"That's right, as it turned out, Fisher Tiger himself was actually a slave to the Tenryuubito," revealed Dragon about Tiger's terrible past.

Koala in shock gasped and covered her mouth.

"T – T – Tiger-san was a slave at Mariejois like me," said Koala in shock.

"That's right. When I heard about Tiger's daring raid on Mariejois I became very interested in him. So I began researching him through the revolutionary spy network and found out that Fisher Tiger was indeed a slave," explained Dragon.

"When Fisher Tiger left to become an adventurer, he was captured and enslaved for years at Mariejois. He was able to escape but could not bear to leave the other slaves behind so he returned and freed them," explained Dragon.

"So that's why Fisher Tiger attacked the Tenryuubito and freed the slaves. He did it because he himself was a slave and could not leave them all to their terrible fates," said Sanbi understandingly.

"Correct, Tiger knew what would happen to those slaves he left behind because he himself was a slave and knew from personal experience the hellish life they go through. He couldn't bear it and committed taboo by attacking the Tenryuubito because he just could not leave them to suffer at the hands of the Tenryuubito. He knew what they went through and could not let it happen," explained Dragon.

"So that's what you meant when you said that the Sun Pirates lied about his death to preserve his honor," said Sanbi.

"Yes, Fisher Tiger is a hero to many. Everyone on Fishman Island along with all slaves, former slaves and all those who ever suffered at the hands of the Tenryuubito view him as a hero. If they heard that Tiger himself was a slave, then you can imagine what they would all think of him," explained Dragon.

"They would no longer see him as a hero and adventurer. They would instead look down on him as a slave and think he did it for revenge rather than to legitimately free the slaves," replied Sanbi.

"Correct," replied Dragon.

"Fisher Tiger's terrible past experiences as a slave meant that he hated humans and no matter what, he couldn't accept them. As a result he chose not to accept a donation of human blood. Even if it would result in his death, he cannot accept human blood because of what they did to him during his time as a slave," explained Dragon.

"I see so that's why he chose not to accept a transfusion of human blood," said Sanbi now finally understanding what truly happened.

"Well I get why they never said anything about him being a slave but I still don't understand why the papers said that he died because he was denied blood from humans instead of saying that he refused to take a transfusion of human blood," said Koala.

"That would be the fishman Arlong's own hatred," replied Dragon.

"Arlong-san's hatred," said Koala who flinched at the memory of Arlong.

"Yes, from your story it seemed that Arlong has great hatred for humans. And that hatred intensified upon Fisher Tiger's death. So when Arlong was captured, he created a cover story that would specifically blame humans for his death and portray them in a negative light," explained Dragon.

"I'm sure that he could have come up with some other cover story to hide Tiger's past as a slave and still not put the blame on humans. However Arlong's hatred for humans intensified by Tiger's death meant that he wanted to blame humans for Tiger refusing a blood transfusion of human blood," explained Dragon.

"I see, Arlong-san was the one fishman who seemed to just hate me no matter what. I don't remember ever doing anything to him but he still hated me," said Koala.

"Hated you and all other humans to the point of lieing in order to make them the villains," said Sanbi.

Koala then suddenly began to cry.

"Koala," said Sanbi placing his hands gently on the young girl.

"Tiger-san, he suffered so much. He was a slave yet he didn't hate me despite me being human like the Tenryuubito. And he died because he wanted to bring me home," said the young girl weeping.

"Why, why did Tiger-san help me. He should have hated me because I'm human," said Koala crying.

"Tiger doesn't hate humans as much as you think," said Dragon.

This caused Koala to look at the revolutionary leader.

"You telling me about your time among the Sun Pirates has allowed me to deduce the truth. His experiences as a slave has instilled within him hatred for humans but that doesn't mean that he isn't willing to give them a chance. The fact that he took you in is proof of that. He wouldn't have done that if he completely hated humans and didn't want them and fishmen to get along. Fisher Tiger wants humans and fishmen to live peacefully together," explained Dragon.

"However he knows that the older generation are too caught him in their ways of thinking, but not the younger. That is why he saved you. You are young and as a result not tainted by people's typical way of thinking. Tiger knows this and knows that the only way to get both species to live in harmony is through the children," explained Dragon.

Koala now finally understanding why Tiger took her in could only cry for her beloved hero and benefactor.

End Flashback

The truth about Fisher Tiger had the entire civilian onlookers silent yet again. They just couldn't believe what they just heard yet they could not deny it because it explained so much, why Fisher Tiger freed the slaves, why he died, things that didn't seem to add up when they first read about his death finally made sense now. It certainly explained why Tiger willingly refused to accept human blood. But they couldn't believe that Tiger himself wanted them to live together with humans. For years they isolated themselves from humans because they thought that humans forsook him and now not only did they find out that wasn't the case but Tiger himself wanted humans and fishmen to get along.

"I – I – I can't believe it, that is what really happened to Tiger-san," said a civilian.

"He was actually a slave," said another civilian.

"Then he really did die because he didn't want human blood. What we all read from the papers years ago really was a lie," said another civilian.

The truth about Tiger's death also had an effect on Keimi and Pappug. Hachi however as a former member of the Sun Pirates already knew the truth.

"Hachi is this true?" asked Keimi.

"Yes it is," confirmed Hachi.

"Hachi why did you and the others keep this secret? Everyone should have known," said Pappug.

Hachi did not reply but looked down sadly.

"Hachi," said Keimi sadly.

The truth about Fisher Tiger's death also had a tremendous effect on the Neptune family as his death had a negative effect on fishmen's thoughts on humans which in turn made things much harder for Otohime. Otohime struggled for a long time to get fishmen to accept humans and it became far harder after Fisher Tiger died.

"Father is that the truth?" asked Fukaboshi.

"Yes," replied Neptune.

"Was it mentioned in the letter that Jinbe sent you?" asked Fukaboshi.

"It was, it told me everything about what happened when Fisher Tiger died," confirmed Neptune.

Fishman Island finally knew the truth about what really happened to the the hero of Fishman Island.

Another chapter done. The truth about Fisher Tiger has finally been revealed to the populace. Review it, I always love reviews. Well onto the chapter notes. But first the question and answer session.

Someone tried to figure out Luffy's character and reasons for defection. Well first I'll reveal that later and have patience. Also I would like to tell everyone that it will all be revealed slowly. Like how until much later I revealed Luffy's hatred for pirates. I will reveal more about Luffy as the story continues. Also this fic does have a lot in common with other animes/mangas. Check out chapter 33 "Issues Explained, Not a Chapter." Again I need to remind people that this fic takes places after chapter 653 and episode 573 so anything after that doesn't count. So Law being a Shichbukai, Doflamingo etc, all that doesn't count. This fic already established Doflamingo's role and Law is a revolutionary commander who survived Dragon's cleansing.

Somone asked about the Shichbukai in this fic. Well I will not be adding any new Shichbukai. They are full but I will not bother with them. Too much trouble creating a new Shichbukai. If I do bring them into the fic, I probably wouldn't show them doing any fighting. This fic will however cover things about the current Shichbukai, the ones Oda already introduced prior to the timeskip. I already covered Kuma who was killed by Luffy during the Invasion of Mariejois Arc and his past revealed in chapter 32 "The Truth about Kuma". There are a few other things about him I need to reveal but that will come later. Doflamingo's role has already been established in the Kaien Kingdom Arc as a revolutionary commander. More about Mihawk's past will be revealed later. Remember one of the Knights of D Melkon D Kanka was formerly his student. Hancock will have an arc for herself in the Amazon Lily Arc in which the Straw Hats go to Amazon Lily, Sanji will be happy on that one. Law I have plans for him. In this fic he is a revolutionary commander and one of the few to survive the purging of the revolutionary army. He will have a major role in assembling the world to finally move against the revolutionary army as well as play a part in Luffy finally turning against Dragon. After all Luffy knows Law since he saved him and Law knows Dragon's true nature so he can help convince Luffy to leave Dragon. As for Buggy, in this fic he is not a Shichbukai. From what I understand Shichbukai are suppose to be both powerful and famous and Buggy is neither. So for those of you wanting Buggy to be a Shichbukai, sorry it wouldn't happen. The contents of the letter that he got from the world government will be explained later. Buggy will have an important role in the story as he'll reveal Roger and Dragon's past to the Straw Hats. As for the Shichbukai who cut off Z's arm, he wasn't revealed until long after chapter 653 and episode 573. Even then we don't even know him. Also Z doesn't exist in this fic. I'm restricting this fic to manga and anime episodes so movies and fillers don't count unless I feel like it.

Okay now onto the chapter itself.

No one on Fishman Island except the Sun Pirates and former members know about Koala. However Neptune and Otohime were the only exceptions. In Jinbe's flashback during his conversation with the Straw Hats, Neptune was revealed to have received a letter from Jinbe explaining what really happened. He didn't want it to get out but he felt that at least Neptune and Otohime deserved to know the truth. So that's how Neptune knows about Koala. However besides him and the Sun Pirates, no one else knew, until Koala herself revealed it.

Why Sanbi trained Koala. It was Koala's resolve to become stronger and her dedication to fishmen. Koala at least at the time spent most of her life as a slave in Mariejois. Recall that she was only a little girl at the time so for someone her age, a couple of years would be a good portion of her life. When Tiger brought her home, she once again was reunited with her family and was no longer a slave. However she was willing to throw all that away for Tiger and the other Sun Pirates. She was willing to leave her family and home behind for a fishman of all things. In fact Koala was willing to risk her life out at sea for Tiger. Such a thing was actually almost unheard off. For any human, much less a little girl, especially a former slave to leave all that behind and nearly commit suicide for a fishman, it was something that Sanbi just couldn't ignore. Also Koala like Sanbi wants humans and fishmen to coexist even if it's through force. Sanbi being a fishman and Koala's family were fishmen. In addition to her love for Fishman, Koala also wanted the two races to get along. With her love for fishmen despite being human and her wanting the two races to coexist, just how could Sanbi not choose to train her.

Both Koala and Sanbi want humans and fishmen to get along. However unlike Otohime who wants fishman and humans to get along through kindness and love, Koala and Sanbi want to force humans to accept fishman. Also they want people like the Tenryuubito who are prejudiced against fishman to suffer. So while they may not be able to make humans get along with fishmen, they can at least punish those who harm fishmen. In the contents of the revolutionary army the Tenryuubito who enslave fishmen who killed during the Mariejois Invasion and pirates who look down on fishmen are suffering on slave camps.

Koala's power has been revealed. She is an exceptionally user at Fishman Karate and Merman Combat. She is close if not on par with Jinbe's skill. This is saying something because she herself is not a fishman and fishman karate is meant for fishmen so for her to have mastery on a similar level to Jinbe despite being fairly young and not a fishman should be a testament to how great her mastery is and how much she trained. However she is still very far from Sanbi. Sanbi can form actual water from the water vapor in the atmosphere and Koala isn't capable of that.

You could imagine how hard it was for Koala to master fishman karate and merman combat. That style is meant for fishmen and mermen respectively, not humans. Physically and biologically, that style is not meant for a human like Koala. Yet Koala's skill is on par with Jinbe's who is a master of fishman karate himself. Just imagine how hard Koala had to train, she wasn't a fishman so that by itself was a disadvantage and to be a commander, her skill had to be on par with Jinbe's. Koala certainly had to train hard. However she had the greatest and most powerful fishman in history Isonade D Sanbi there to help train her. But more importantly she had incredible resolve, the tragedy behind Tiger was just the resolve that she needed to overcome her physical and biological limitations of not being a fishman.

Why Koala wanted to use Fishman Karate and not any other style. Fisher Tiger was a fishman. So if Koala learnt Fishman Karate, she would be just like him. You can understand why, I mean she admired him so much after he helped her. She would want to be just like him and being a master of fishman karate and merman combat would do just that. This again shows how much she admired Tiger. She left her family despite being separated from them and went out to sea alone which was suicide. And she went as far as to try to master a style like fishman karate, a style that biologically she should be incapable of using just for Tiger. She truly loved Tiger didn't she.

Koala got a lot of character development. In the previous chapter we saw how much she was affected by Tiger's death and in this chapter we also get to see how strong her admiration for Tiger was that it gave her the resolve to master Fishman Karate despite not being a fishman. And her wanting to master fishman karate in itself also shows her admiration for Tiger because Tiger himself was a fishman.

Regarding the conversation between Sanbi and the Straw Hats and the Jinbe vs Koala battle. Notice how the scene suddenly jumped from Sanbi explaining Koala's resolve to Jinbe's battle with Koala and then back to Sanbi explaining Koala's mastery in Fishman Karate. There was no real transition, it just happened. This was done deliberately. What happened was that Robin deduced that Koala might have known Fishman Karate and Sanbi confirmed it. Then the focus shifted briefly to Koala's battle with Jinbe where she revealed her ability to use Fishman Karate. Then Sanbi actually answered yes that Koala can actually use Fishman Karate and then went on to explain how hard Koala tried to master it. This was simply a story telling technique whereby you jump to certain scenes for dramatic effect. It does not affect the story line in anyway. Oda has used this technique many times in One Piece so I figured I'd do the same.

The truth about what happened to Fisher Tiger has finally been revealed to Fishman Island. We the readers already knew what happened to Tiger since it was covered in Jinbe's flashback. However just because we the readers along with the Straw Hats know doesn't mean that the rest of Fishman Island know. I don't think Jinbe told anyone besides Neptune, the Straw Hats and Shirahoshi and Keimi what really happened. Thus Fishman Island finally knows what really happened to the hero of Fishman Island.

Why did I have the truth about Fisher Tiger revealed. One of the main reasons that fishmen cannot get along with humans is because they didn't know exactly how Fisher Tiger died. They thought humans chose to abandon him and left him to die. This really made them resent humans. Otohime's death was also a major factor. The Straw Hats helped restore fishman's faith in humanity when they were first at Fishman Island however I believe the only way for them to truly accept humans is if they knew what really happened to Tiger. Only if they knew the truth about Tiger can they finally put all the resentment behind them and start anew since Tiger's death was a major cause of fishmen's resentment towards humans.

Another loose end tied up. At the end of the Fishman Island arc, Oda left several things unclear, such as Koala and the truth about Tiger being revealed to everyone. Well this chapter fixes that. By letting the citizens of Fishman Island know the truth about Tiger, its allowing closure to the Fishman Island arc. The only way I see Oda getting fishmen and humans to get along is if he let the citizens of Fishman Island know the truth. Now that they know the truth they can move on.

Dragon figuring out the truth about Tiger. The Revolutionary Army has an extremely advanced spy network. Using this spy network they are able to obtain information that many other people cannot obtain. With this information Dragon was able to find out about important information about Tiger such as his past as a slave to the Tenryuubito and him and the Sun Pirates never killing anyone. Both of these already gave Dragon a clue as to Tiger's personality. Koala provided even more information about Tiger since she was part of the crew and the mere fact that he chose to take a human, even if it was a child back to her home also gave Dragon more information about Tiger's personality. Koala also knew Tiger personally so she could tell Dragon various little things about Tiger. The information Dragon gained from the spy network, Koala's information about Tiger's character and Dragon's own understanding of human nature, all this allowed him to deduce accurately the truth about Tiger. Remember Luffy can read people very easily so naturally Dragon can do the same. In fact Dragon can do it better because unlike Luffy he is much smarter and has access to a lot of information which helps him uncover mysterious and events with incredible accuracy.

It was really thanks to Koala that Dragon was able to deduce the truth about Tiger. Dragon is a genius in both knowledge and human nature. And by combining both he can figure out things no one else can. But Dragon could not really figure Tiger out because he never really knew Tiger or ever personally met him. Because of that he could never completely figure out Tiger's actions since he didn't know much about his character or personality beyond what he could uncover through his spy network. But Koala knew Tiger personally. Therefore she knows things about Tiger that no one else besides the other Sun Pirates know, things that not even Dragon himself knows. Therefore through Koala Dragon was able to get a much better understanding of Tiger's character and thanks to his own incredible understanding of human nature was able to figure out things about Tiger's personality and character that he would never have known if it wasn't for Koala. Also the revolutionary army spy network was able to obtain vital information about the Sun Pirates such as Tiger being a slave of the Tenryuubito. Dragon by combining the information he knew about Tiger from his spy network, Koala's knowledge about Tiger's character and Dragon's own understanding of human nature, he was able to deduce the truth about what really happened to Tiger. All this would not have been possible if it wasn't for Koala.

Again Dragon shows his intelligence. He was able to figure out the truth about Fisher Tiger despite no one on the crew ever revealing anything. He again lives up to his title of revolutionary leader. Someone who can lead an entire army against the world government has to be extremely intelligent, a world class manipulator.

Well that's about everything that I think needed to be covered. So please leave a review behind and tell me what you think.
