Do not own! Not mine! Also, "Flora" says she has a lot of tests n' stuff in her classes so this is more of a filler chapter, and she also may have to take a while before you guys get the next chapter. Sorry.

Flora's POV:

"Wake up." My eyes opened slightly, and I moaned, snuggling further into the blankets. "M-mm." I mumbled, and there was a soft chuckle as I felt a cold hand gently brush my cheeks. "Even if it's your birthday?" My eyes snapped open, and I sat up abruptly, staring at Alucard as he grinned happily, shivering as the blankets dropped and I was exposed to cold air. His expression became concerned, and I blinked as he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into his lap. I blinked sleepily against his shoulder, feeling how suspiciously warm he was. "How long have you been in here?" He shrugged absently, pulling me into a more comfortable position. "A few hours." he admitted, twirling a lock of my hair around his finger as I smiled and closed my eyes again."Knew it. You're way too warm for normal." I muttered, and he laughed, gently kissing the top of my head. "Guilty as charged."

I let him cuddle with me for a little bit as I slowly woke up, finally raising my head from his shoulder. "So what time is it?" He stared at me for a moment, and I saw his crimson eyes shift over to the clock on my bedside table. "Well…" My eyes widened, then narrowed. "You have no idea, do you?" He chuckled softly, stroking my hair gently and pressing my chin back down on his shoulder. "I got impatient and you were so cute I just couldn't help it." he pouted, and I sighed but snuggled close and allowed him to pet my hair for a while longer. "Ah, I almost forgot. What do you want for your birthday?" I jerked away and stared at him for a second, and he smiled slightly. "I know I know, I should've come up with one already. But I thought to myself; why not just ask you what you want on your birthday? It's not like I can't get it within a few seconds." he said with a confident shrug, and I stared at him for a few moments.

"That's…" I began, feeling slightly put out by his careless attitude. His eyes softened and he nuzzled my neck affectionately. "It does matter to me, more than everything. You matter more than everything. I'll give you whatever you want, whenever you want it. All you have to do is ask." he told me gently, and I sniffled and buried my nose in his duster. "I hate you, you stupid egotistical vampire." I whimpered, and he stroked the top of my head lovingly. "So?" I blinked, then frowned, thinking hard. "I…I dunno. I guess I just got it early, 'cause I met you." I said, and he chuckled, cuddling me closer. "Fair enough. Your present is meeting me." he said affectionately, pressing a tiny kiss to the crown of my head. I smiled, and he then jolted slightly, as if remembering something. "Oh yes…Integra is coming to your little celebration." he added, and I blinked.

Integra…she's always so busy…she made time just for me? My eyes started to water again, and I scrubbed rapidly at them as he smiled and ruffled my hair. "Shall we get all your other presents?" he asked, and I blinked, gasping as he gently spun me in his lap, showing me the pile of wrapped presents on the floor. "It's like Christmas!" He snickered at my surprised tone, gently scooting me off his lap. "Human greed has completely distorted what the Catholics intended that holiday to be, but I'm not complaining. Go on, look and see what they got you." he encouraged with a chuckle, and I scrambled off the bed, diving in the pile and starting to sort out who had gotten me what. Seras had given me the biggest present, nearly as big as myself, with Walter the next one down, although his was a lot longer and narrower. Integra and some of the mercs had given me packages and such, the largest able to easily fit in my lap. My eyebrow furrowed as I saw no packages with Jay's signature, even though she had been the first to actually remember my birthday.

Alucard sat forward on the bed, resting his weight on his elbows as he raised an eyebrow. "Well? Are you going to open them or not?" I glared at him, taking Seras's present into my lap. "Not until you tell me what time it is." I said firmly, and he grinned slightly, completely unashamed. "Around five or six in the morning." I glared at him deeply, and he held up his hands in a "I'm busted" pose. "Of course, I probably will have a hard time just sitting here and watching you until you wake up again." he coaxed, and I gave him a withering look. "I'm only staying up because I wanna open the presents." I warned him, and he grinned at me ferally, making a subtle motion to encourage me to do so. I rolled my eyes at his antics, starting to rip the paper off of Seras's gift.

I raised an eyebrow, seeing the frilly, poofy black dress laid out inside the box, slowly turning my head to look at Alucard. "You put her up to that, didn't you?" He held up his hands, shaking his head. "Sadly, that is something she dreamed up all on her own. It will be something nice to wear to one of the Queen's galas that she always makes the Knights attend." he said dismissively, and I looked closer. True, the dress was a little more…puffy than I would like, but it looked like it would be flattering enough, and the tiny little bows ringing the circles of lace around the waistline were interesting enough. "I guess so." I mumbled, putting back in the box and shoving it beside my closet. Next I opened Walter's present, and my mouth dropped open as Alucard made an approving sound.

A shining silver sword with my full name engraved on the blade, and I squealed in delight as I carefully lifted it, swinging it slightly with my eyes wide in delight. "This is awesome! How did Walter know?!" I said excitedly, and he chuckled slightly, patting my head and ruffling my hair slightly as he gently took the sword from me, sheathing it in the leather case that was also in the box. "The Angel of Death is as practical as always." he commented, laying it back in the box as I quickly shoved his hands away and cradled this most precious object to my chest. "Mine!" He chuckled softly and let me snatch it close, hurriedly tucking it under my bed and starting on the rest of the packages. I began opening the smaller ones, Alucard offering small comments throughout.

Integra had gotten me a very old, very tattered version of Dracula in a rare bit of humor, one Alucard gave an evil, withering look as I rolled my eyes and gently placed it in the drawer of my nightstand. "Calm down, you know its all lies." He gave the defenseless nightstand a hefty kick as my clock and lamp wobbled. "Hnt. Lies I find personally offensive." he grumbled, and I leaned in and gave him a quick kiss before starting to open presents once more. "Huh? What's this?" I asked, holding up a bottle of something from Captain Bernadette. It was too small to be anything to drink… I squeaked as Alucard rapidly snatched it out of my hand and crushed it in his fist. "Hey! What was that for?!" I yelped indignantly, and he scowled, shaking the shards of the bottle off his hand and into my trashbin. "Trust me when I say that you do not want to know." he growled, his lip curling a little, and I stared at him for a moment before turning back to the presents. "Damn mercenary…"

***Time Skip***

Integra stood rigidly next to me, and I peered at her anxiously as Seras looked longingly at the cake the mercenaries were devouring, Alucard nowhere in sight. He said he needed a short nap before he continued being out and about in the daytime, of all horrible things. Seras looked pretty much asleep on her feet as it was. "Hey Sir Integra, have you guys…um, found anything in Jay's r-room?" I asked, my voice breaking slightly at the end of the sentence as she gave me a slightly pitying look. "Yes, and other than quite a lot of what I'm relatively sure is illegal hacking devices and such, we found next to nothing." My lips trembled slightly as I pressed them together, and I hurriedly wiped at my damp eyes. "She always did have an amazing ability to live out of a suitcase." I choked, and I felt her lay a hand on my shoulder. "I'm glad to see you're coping best you can. The death of a close one is very hard to get over." she told me softly, and I stared at her, slightly shocked by her empathy.

"Yeah. Thanks Integra, quite honestly I'm kinda having a hard time of it. It always helps to deal with it like you would, you know." I said shakily, and her eyes widened slightly, then resumed her stern expression. "Thank you Flora. It's good to know." she said with a genuine smile, and I nodded to her. "Thanks." I mumbled, flushing slightly at her praise. Suddenly my laptop, which I had left on a chair, started pinging, and I blinked as I excused myself and walked over. My eyes widened painfully as I saw the "You have a message from: ME YOU IDIOT", my jaw slowly dropping. That's Jay's tag! What the hell?! "Integra…" I called nervously, and she walked over to me briskly, peering at the screen. "Amusing enough, but why-" I cut her off. "That's Jay label, the one she puts on for friends." Her ice-blue eyes narrowed, and before I could stop her she reached out and clicked the message.

Jay instantly popped up on the screen, tinkering with something with far too many wires for me to count. "Hey Flora, Happy B-day and all that. I spent most of the day making your "present", so I'm kinda behind on my projects n' stuff that I'm working on. Well, here goes." she said briskly, looking up after a few seconds and putting whatever she was working on to the side as she folded her arms. "So, I was sitting around a few days after I came over here, and trying to think of something to give ya for your 15th year on this lovely green earth." she mused idly, and I smiled sadly. She always did have trouble getting to a point whenever she actually wanted to get to that point. "And then it hit me. Hey, you and King Fanger seem like a couple, and you kinda have a time limit about being over here in jolly ol' England. My first thought was to fake your death and tell your folks, but I don't think that'd blow over well with you." she admitted with a slightly reminiscent grin, and I winced.

"Got that right…" I mumbled, and Integra chuckled softly. "So anyway, I was left with the burning question. How the hell am I gonna get your parents to leave you alone, yet enable you to visit them whensoever you please and Fanger can manage letting you go overseas? Well, when I thought it over real careful-like, it seemed rather simple. Illegal, involving of many contraband items and the deception of your biological family, but rather simple. Better still, it involves absolutely no effort at all on your part. Well, very little anyway." She picked up a long piece of paper, scanning it over rapidly. "So anyway, I called your parents and kinda borrowed Integra's voice –I have this cool software that acts like a voicebank recorder or whatever– for a little bit, but the long and short of it is they think that she called them and told them some stuff I think you'll enjoy hearing."

Integra's eye twitched slightly. "I am extremely relieved she is so…" I finished the sentence for her as she trailed off. "Strangely ethical?" She nodded as Jay continued on screen. "Anyway, "Integra" called to inform them…well, I'll just read off what I made the computer read." She adjusted the paper, slouching back and crossing her legs as she yawned slightly and began reading. "As you know, I am Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing, and I am in charge of the Hellsing organization from England. You'll be glad to know that your daughter Flora is enjoying herself immensely here, but that is not why I called. It has come to our attention that she possess skills that my organization will find useful, however, she requires more age experience, as well as a more thorough education than she is currently receiving." I whistled under my breath. "She even got your personality right; I'd totally think that'd be you talking if it was in your voice." I whispered, and she nodded, looking slightly shaken.

"So we have called in some favors, and she is currently enrolled at a school of our preference, however we expect her to progress to the point where we can give her a scholarship to Oxford within two years, instead of the three high school years she has remaining. She has thrown herself whole-heartedly into the course, and we expect great work from her in the future. Please call if there are any problems at-" She listed off the "work number", which was the lowest security risk one we had. She also reminded them of my phone number, then grinned and put down the paper. "That's pretty much all of import, the rest is just flattery n' stuff and how they can't contact the schools because Integra is somewhat of a "street crime" person and there are lots of mob-type people that might wanna kidnap you and torture you or whatever if they found out. So anyway, if you answer calls and pretend you're going to wherever you're supposed to being going to at that point in time, you are set to stay at Hellsing for the next…aw jeez, five years? Two definitely, since that's where the heavy training is supposedly going down."

My heart practically stopped. I…I was going to be able to stay? STAY?! Her face had that smug look about it I saw only when she pulled off a prank of unholy proportions as she folded her arms behind her head. "So anyway, yeah, Happy Birthday to you grasshopper. Tell King Fanger not to crush me in a hug and don't do so yourself, it really's just all in the job. I'm just gonna sneak out of the room now if I haven't already, 'cause the thanks you no doubt are planning to shower on me are all unnecessary. I'm good, but you owe me big for this one. Lessons in the art of technology borrowing are not cheap." she said with a shudder, then grinned and ran her hands through her hair. "So yeah. Enjoy the present. Besides by the time mom and pops are aware of the fact you wanna stay for pretty much forever, you should be old enough they don't have any say in it." she admitted, putting a finger to her chin as she looked up.

"Anyway, that's my grand plan, check and mate, the board is cleared." she said suddenly, leaning forward again and miming chess on her desk before grinning at us. "Tschüs! Have a wonderful next two years!" she said happily, giving me a peace sign before the camera suddenly went black. I stared at my computer screen in shock, feeling the loss all over again. She went to so much effort…she could get into so much trouble…just for me? I thought vacantly, gripping the edges of the table tightly as I felt something wet and hot on my face. I'm not crying…I'm not crying… I thought with a sniffle, hurriedly freeing my death-grip from the table and scrubbing the back of my arm across my face. I felt a slightly cool hand on my shoulder, reaching up and holding it tightly without hesitation as I felt soothing, calming thoughts ghost through my mental link to Alucard, his thumb rubbing over my hand slightly.

'She would've wanted you to move on eventually.' he reminded me quietly, and I leaned into him, feeling his other arm drape around my stomach and squeeze gently. 'I know…but I'm not going to always listen to her.' I thought with a slight smile, and he chuckled slightly. 'That's a pity. You should listen to your elders.' he thought with a smug kiss to the top of my head, and I smiled softly. 'You heard, didn't you?' I heard him laugh audibly, petting my hair a little. 'Of course I did little one. I underestimated my guess; she would have truly been a perfect vampire.' he thought with a soft snicker, the thought reminding me of our discussion in the sewers of Italy. 'Um…and me…as a vampire…' His arm tightened slightly, and I felt his body tense up behind mine. 'NO. I am never going to contaminate you in such a way.' he thought firmly, and I blinked, but nodded slightly and cuddled against him as I felt the tenseness slowly go out from his muscles.
