Madam Shyarly's Prophecy
Hi guys I'm back after a while. Sorry if I haven't update in a while but life just seems to never get any easier for me. But I'm here now and have another chapter out. The title is self explanatory, so hope you enjoy and please leave a review behind.
In addition, I would like to thank Nyame for creating a TV troupe page for One Piece Final Holy War. So a big thank you to Nyame. Here is the TV troupe page: /FanFic/OnePieceFinalHolyWar
Anyway onto the chapter, again enjoy and review.
The Straw Hats were ready to continue their battle against Sanbi. Sanbi's tale about Joyboy was very interesting to say the least, especially for the Neptune Family and Robin. However the threat infront of them was still ever present and Sanbi still had to be defeated.
Sanbi suddenly disappeared and reappeared before Sanji and attempted to punch him.
"Fast," thought Sanji who narrowly dodged Sanbi's attack.
Sanbi's fist completely destroyed the ground beneath Sanji however. Sanji himself meanwhile tried to counterattack.
"Epaule," said Sanji with a downward kick on Sanbi's shoulder.
The attack didn't do anything other than annoy the fishman who tried to swat Sanji away however Sanji used skywalk to evade. Suddenly sensing something, Sanbi used his massive forearms to block an incoming volley of shuriken from Usopp. Thanks to the power of D, Sanbi was unaffected.
"Guess that wouldn't work," commented Usopp.
Sanbi then turned his gaze over to Usopp. Usopp himself could tell that he was in trouble. Suddenly Sanbi sprang towards Usopp at amazing speed. Usopp screamed in terror at the sight of the incoming hulking fishman. Just as Sanbi neared the sniper, he was suddenly intercepted by Zoro who blocked the fishman with his three swords.
Using his inner strength, Zoro successfully pushed back the powerful fishman back. Following this he immediately got into an attack position for one of his santoryuu attacks. Crossing his three swords together he quickly charged at Sanbi at high speed.
"Oni Giri," said Zoro as he slashed Sanbi at high speed.
Due to his loss of balance when Zoro pushed him back, Sanbi was unable to block the attack. Sanbi had three slashes on his chest that was bleeding, though not grievous was noticeable. This was the first real injury that Sanbi sustained for the entire battle.
"I can't believe it, Zoro's attack actually worked," said Nami in surprise.
"Zoro was actually able to wound him, how?" asked Usopp equally as surprised.
"It's as I thought," said Zoro getting the attention of the Straw Hats and Sanbi.
Sanbi didn't look affected by his injury and looked at Zoro with interest.
"That divine haki is really making your armament haki really strong such that it is almost impenetrable, almost. Your haki is strong enough to block my aerial and long range attacks but direct attacks still work on you though," said Zoro.
"When I use my long range attacks, despite how strong they are they lose power with distance. They became weak enough that you can block them. However at close range my blade is strong enough to actually harm you," continued Zoro.
Zoro then pointed one of his swords at Sanbi.
"Now I can cut you," said Zoro who then grinned his typical shark like grin.
The confidence that Zoro gained from finally having actually harmed Sanbi spread towards the rest of the crew.
"Alright great job swords bro, now we can actually win this," said Franky with a grin.
"Zoro's so awesome, he was able to finally hurt that guy," cheered Chopper.
"Great job Zoro-san," cheered Brook on as well.
"Che don't go cheering that bastard on just yet," said an irritated Sanji.
"Don't be upset that I was able to hurt him before you," replied Zoro mockingly.
"What did you say bastard," replied Sanji back challengingly.
The two monsters of the Straw Hats were interrupted by a massive stomp along with a massive burst of haki. Zoro and Sanji's banter along with the Straw Hats celebration ceased immediately upon sensing the powerful haki coming from Sanbi.
All the Straw Hats even Zoro and Sanji had to fight hard to remain conscious upon sensing the powerful haoshoku haki coming from Sanbi.
"His haki is as strong as expected," said Zoro gritting his teeth, the excitement he gained from cutting Sanbi vanished immediately.
"Just how is this guy using the conqueror's haki, I thought that he couldn't use it because of that haki enslavement thing?" questioned Sanji.
"He must have stopped using it right now in order to use conqueror's haki," replied Zoro.
"At first I would believe that it's because he's angry that we actually hurt him to the point that it broke his concentration and caused him to stop using haki enslavement. If that's the case then it would have been a good thing because it meant that we're getting to him and he's becoming sloppier," said Zoro.
"However," continued Zoro looking at Sanbi's face.
"He doesn't seem angry at all, he seems completely calm and not affected in the slightest that I hurt him," said Zoro.
"Which means that he purposely stopped using the haoshoku haki on himself to instead use it on us. So he's definitely not riled up," continued Zoro.
"Guess he's definitely going to still be as dangerous," finished Sanji on Zoro's line of thought.
If Sanbi got angry that they finally wounded him, then it meant that he would be sloppier and easier to predict. More importantly in his anger, he would be less able to utilize observation haki and his ability to use haki enslavement would be nullified due to loss of concentration. If that was the case, then the Straw Hats would have finally gained the advantage. However it was not meant to be as Sanbi didn't appear to be angered despite the powerful haki emitting from him.
"You think you can win just because you were able to cut me, how naïve, I cannot begin to explain how foolish that logic is," said Sanbi back.
"Roronoro Zoro, if you haven't noticed, your attack which could easily take down even a Pacifista doesn't do much damage to me," said Sanbi.
Zoro gritted his teeth knowing that Sanbi was correct. His attack which could easily destroy a Pacifista and most other foes didn't do any major damage to him. It was an indication as to just how powerful his haki was.
"And you could only hurt me if you strike me directly. But in order for you to do that, you need to get close to me. And even though you are a very strong melee fighter, I am also a very strong close range combatant myself. You should be fully aware as to how dangerous it is to get close to me," explained Sanbi.
Zoro again knew this was true. While he may have been very good at close range fighting, Sanbi was an absolute juggernaught, a walking tank that could take pretty much anything they could throw at him and dish out even more. Sanbi was a monster at close range fighting and even for someone such as him, getting close to Sanbi was dangerous. He'll be putting himself at a lot of risk in order to deal a few cuts that don't seem to even bother him.
But then again, many of Zoro's past opponents were the same, dangerous at close combat and Zoro was always at risk of being killed when he get's close to them. Sanbi was no different, in order to defeat this seemingly unstoppable foe, Zoro will have to once again put his life on the line, just like he's always done in the past.
""Oye oye, you seem to be forgetting that the baka swordsman isn't the only one you're fighting. If he can hurt you, then I'm sure that I can as well," said Sanji.
"Ah yes, from what I've heard about you Black Leg, you're about equally as strong as the Pirate Hunter Zoro. But you can try," invited Sanbi.
"Oh I intend to," said Sanji with a smirk.
Sanji jumped straight towards Sanbi and delivered a powerful kick to the fishman's midsection.
"Mouton Shot," said Sanji as he delivered a powerful kick to the fishman.
Sanbi was sent a far distance away crashing into a building. However he easily got out from the rubble only to see Sanji spinning rapidly on one of his legs. When Sanji stopped spinning, his leg was a shiny yellow.
"Diable Jambe," said Sanji now with his Diable Jambe activated.
"That attack again, it didn't work very well on me then so what makes you think it'll work now," said Sanbi.
"Oh I'm sure it will, you'll see," said Sanji with absolution.
Even though Sanbi had great confidence in his armament haki, something told him that Sanji wasn't bluffing.
"Sky Walk," said Sanji jumping on the air to get close to Sanbi.
"Mouton Shot," said Sanji delivering a Diable Jambe enhanced mouton shot to Sanbi's stomach.
Sanbi held his ground and as a result was sent skidding back a far distance unlike before where he was actually sent flying. Nonetheless when Sanbi stopped, he sunk down to one knee and was clutching onto the spot where Sanji kicked him with Diable Jambe. Sanji's attack wasn't devastating, but like Zoro's direct attack, it did do noticeable damage to him, especially since he was clutching onto the spot showing that he was in pain. Upon closer inspection, it could be seen that he was actually bleeding.
Sanji looked at the fishman on his knees with his hand on his midsection with a satisfying expression.
"Like I said, I'm sure that my attack would work this time," said Sanji with a smirk.
Reflecting back to how he was hurt Sanbi back thinking.
"I see, I know what's going on. When you used that powerful kick to send me flying, you did that to actually buy you time to charge up your attack. That move of yours, the longer and faster you spin, the hotter and stronger it is. That was why your previous attempt at that move didn't work very well," deduced Sanbi.
"You knew that if you spun around too long that I would stop you so that's why you kicked me away. The distance between us would have meant that it would take some time to stop you. With that much distance, you were able to make that fiery leg of yours much stronger, enough to actually harm me," said Sanbi.
"Well you catch on quick," replied Sanji back.
"Incredible, Sanji too," said Usopp at awe.
"Now both Zoro-san and Sanji-san can actually hurt him," said Brook also surprised.
"Things are finally looking up our way," said Chopper.
The other Straw Hats smiled at the success that both Zoro and Sanji now had.
"You shouldn't get overconfident Black Leg Sanji. I'm more than strong enough to handle that attack of yours despite how strong it is. Also don't think that I'll let you hit me or even give you the opportunity to make that move of yours stronger," said Sanbi.
Sanji looked at Sanbi seriously knowing that he was right. His Diable Jambe may be strong, strong enough to one shot a Pacifista, but it only inflicted a slight burn on Sanbi. It didn't seem to have much of an effect on him despite the power and heat of the attack. He would have to use that move much more often in order to taken down the powerful fishman and he doubted that he would get such an opportunity.
And like Zoro, he would have to get close to Sanbi, in his territory which was dangerous. Sanbi was not the type to let damage get to his head so he could keep a clear mind so that his observation haki was strong and the power of D still effective. Because of that, Sanbi was sure to be able to successfully counter any attack he uses making it even more dangerous.
"Ha, you two really seem fired up. And its getting me really fired up as well. Now I'm feeling extra super now, so super that now I'm going to use my greatest weapon," said Franky with a grin.
"Greatest weapon, you mean …" said Usopp knowing what was coming next.
"That's right," replied Franky.
And just in time some rumbling was heard. Turning to the direction of the sounds, the Kurosai FR-U IV and the Brachio Tank V was approaching. The two vehicles went towards Franky and the three immediately began the docking process forming the Iron Pirate Franky Shogun.
"Iron Pirate Franky Shogun," said Franky dramatically upon completion of the docking.
"Sugoi!" shouted both Usopp and Chopper with stars in their eyes.
"No matter how many times I see it, its still amazing," said Chopper also with stars in his eyes.
"The hell, the motorcycle and the tank merged with Cyborg Franky to turn into a big robot," said Sanbi who wasn't expecting this.
"Heh, you sound surprised. Well you should be, you'll soon come to fear the power of the Mightly Franky Shogun," said Franky having the robot make some dramatic movements.
"If that's all then I'm not impressed, it'll take more than one big robot to defeat me," said Sanbi.
"Oh don't worry, that big robot will have some help," said Chopper with a grin.
Chopper then took out a rumble ball and ate it. As soon as he bit down on it, Chopper began to change, he grew into a much larger form, larger than the already towering Franky Shogun. Chopper was now in his monster point form.
"That transforming reindeer actually turning into some kind of monster," commented Sanbi.
"I see that there is a lot more to you than meets the eye," said Sanbi.
"That's right, I'm a monster now and a monster who's going to kick your ass," said the monster point Chopper in a deep voice though he still had a grin.
Chopper then went next to the Franky Shogun and stood next to him. It was quite a sight seeing the two "giants" standing right next to each other.
"Looks like things are really beginning to heat up," said Usopp with a grin, the energy in the air causing him to lose his usual cowardice.
"Even though I am a chicken, if everyone's going to fight then I should as well," said Nami grinning with confidence as well.
"Yohohohohoho oh my oh my oh my the energy in the air is really there, I could literally feel it in my bones," said Brook confidently and not making a skull joke due to the circumstances.
"It seems everyone is now really riled up and ready to go," commented Robin with her usual gracious smile though you could see that it was wider than usual, due to the newfound energy in the atmosphere.
"You see Sanbi, you said that you wouldn't let the love cook or myself damage you again. But we aren't the only ones you're fighting. You're fighting the entire crew so you shouldn't worry about just the two of us. You have to focus on all of us," said Zoro.
"So guys are you ready, let's take this guy done," shouted Zoro motivating the crew.
"Yeah" shouted the entire crew back.
Normally Luffy would be the one motivating the crew to fight on in the most dire situations. But it seemed that responsibility now fell to Zoro who was the de facto captain in Luffy's absence. And while Zoro never had the same impact on the crew as Luffy did, he still was successful in getting the crew ready to fight.
Sanbi stood there for a few moments before choosing to answer.
"I see, it is just as you said. You're all crewmates, all nakama and you all fight together," said Sanbi before proceeding to grap the water around him as if it was a cloth.
"Ah crap he's going to use that move again," said Sanji remembering how the powerful fishman used that attack on him.
A massive torrent of water was sent towards the Straw Hats. The Franky Shogun immediately moved infront of Chopper protecting him from the water. However the force of the water was so great it knocked the Franky Shogun off its feet.
"Franky!" shouted Chopper.
Chopper didn't have time to worry about his crewmate because Sanbi was already on him. Unlike before where Sanbi was usually the bigger one, this time it is Chopper. However despite Chopper being a monster, his strength was still less than Sanbi's. Sanbi jumped onto Chopper's face with such extreme force that he was also knocked down. Not finished yet Sanbi jumped into the air again and delivered a powerful punch to Chopper's massive face cracking the ground beneath him.
"Chopper, you bastard, take this, Midori Boshi: Devil!" shouted Usopp firing several pop greens at Sanbi.
The pop greens immediately turned into several venus flytraps. One of them successfully ate Sanbi however the powerful fishman literally burst out of the mouth.
"Crap," said Usopp seeing Sanbi break out of the mouth of his Venus Flytrap.
The other venus flytraps tried to ensnare Sanbi with their vines however Sanbi easily outpowered them by breaking out of the vines. Then he grabbed one of the giant plants and literally lifted it up.
"He literally lifted up that giant plant like its nothing," said Usopp in awe at the display of power.
It didn't come to any surprise given that he saw the significantly weaker Arlong actually lift up an entire house and Hody crush a pillar with his grip. However he was still in awe and terror at the incredible display of strength of the powerful Knight of D.
Sanbi then leapt into the air while and hurled the massive plant straight at Usopp at incredible speed.
"Oh Shit!" screamed Usopp as he tried to run for cover.
However the massive plant was stopped by a giant arm that formed just before the large venus flytrap hit Usopp.
"This is …" said Usopp knowing that this was Robin's technique.
Usopp looked at Robin and took note to how tired she was. He could guess that it was due to Sanbi's previous water attack which when it hit the Franky Shogun briefly covered mostly everyone in water, even Franky himself despite being in the Shogun. Only Chopper was spared due to his massive size and being protected by the Franky Shogun. As the giant robot took the full force of the attack, all the water only washed everyone away so it didn't do much damage. However it did successfully exhaust Robin and Brook seeing as both were devil fruit users.
"You," said Sanbi before firing several water droplets at Robin at immense speed.
Just as the water droplets hit Zoro intercepted them and skillfully blocked them all. Sanbi not done yet began sending a barrage of water droplets at the swordsman who continued to skillfully defend himself and Robin against them.
While the Straw Hats were battling Sanbi, the audience continued to watch the battle in awe. For everyone it was indeed a fantastic battle and for most of the citizens, it was by far the greatest battle they had ever witnessed. Battles of this kind of caliber were completely unheard of on Fishman Island. Despite many powerful pirates coming to Fishman Island since it was the only entrance available to the New World, none of them ever really started any trouble. The pirates who do start trouble were never anywhere near the power of Sanbi. In fact the strongest pirates who ever started any trouble on Fishman Island were probably the New Fishman Pirates. As a result, many of the citizens never witnessed a battle of this scale. The closest they ever saw was the battle between the Straw Hats and the New Fishman Pirates and even that was nothing like this. Back then the Straw Hats were clearly the dominant group but now, the battle can go either way.
The former fortune teller Madame Shyarly was also looking at the battle. She too was greatly amazed at the scale of the battle as well as in awe at Sanbi's power. But after hearing so many revelations such as the story of Joyboy and the identity of Luffy's mother, it got her thinking, thinking back to her vision whereby she saw Fishman Island's destruction at Luffy hands.
"Now I know what it meant," announced Shyarly in a loud voice.
Shyarly's voice echoed throughout the entire area, even stopping the battle between the Straw Hats and Sanbi temporarily. They didn't know why they would stop after hearing some citizen's loud voice but something compelled them to stop and listen to what she had to say. They were not the only ones as all the citizens soon had their attention on the former fortune teller.
"It's Madame Shyarly, that fortune teller," said a citizen hearing her.
"Former former teller, I heard she destroyed her crystal ball so she cannot see the future anymore," said another citizen correcting the former.
"But what did she mean when she said that she knows what it meant?" said another citizen referring to her previous statement.
The Neptune family and the Sun Pirates also had their attention on the mermaid. The Neptune family, and practically everyone else on Fishman Island took her prophecies very seriously as she accurately predicted the Golden Age of Pirates, the War of the Best and even Whitebeard's death. The Sun Pirates because they were rarely on Fishman Island merely heard stories of the mermaid and her accurate predictions. As they were rarely on Fishman Island and thus do not know her well, they don't really take what she said seriously that much but even they cannot deny the accuracy of her predictions.
Seeing that she had everyone's attention, she continued.
"My vision, the one I had whereby Straw Hat Luffy would destroy Fishman Island, I now figured out what it meant," said Shyarly.
This got everyone's attention, even the Straw Hats. It was well known that her predictions always come true, just that the exact timing is unknown, but it will happen nonetheless. When the Straw Hats first visited Fishman Island, Shyraly predicted that Luffy would destroy Fishman Island. That made a lot of people resent him and the kidnapping of the mermaids did not help at the time. However after Luffy defeated Hody and the mermaids were all returned, the prophecy was completely forgotten. After all how could Luffy destroy Fishman Island when he actually saved it?
Jinbe himself wondered about the prediction. Having fought alongside Luffy on two occasions, the Marineford War and the battle on Fishman Island, he certainly did not believe that Luffy would do such a thing. However he was still curious about the prediction given how Shyraly was never wrong.
"I wondered about that vision myself," said Jinbe.
"Indeed," replied Alladin.
Alladin who despite never having actually met Luffy before heard great things about him from Jinbe. He too could not believe that someone whom his captain spoke so highly of would destroy Fishman Island.
"Excuse but what's this about Luffy-san destroying Fishman Island?" asked Vivi curiously.
"Oh that's right, you weren't hear when Madame Shyraly made that prophecy. Anyway Madame Shyraly is a former fortune teller who is well known for her accurate predictions. She successfully predicted the Golden Age of Pirates, the War of the Best and even the Yonko Whitebeard's death," said Neptune giving a brief introduction on Shyraly.
"Really, her predictions are that accurate," said Vivi in amazement.
"Yes but unfortunately she cannot predict the exact time of the event. All that is known is that it will happen. Anyway she gave up fortune telling after the Straw Hats defeated Hody's gang believing that the future is best not known," said Neptune.
"Okay but what does that have to do with Luffy-san destroying Fishman Island?" asked Vivi.
"When the Straw Hats first arrived, Madame Shyarly received a vision and predicted that Luffy-kun would destroy Fishman Island," replied Fukaboshi.
"But that can't be true. I know Luffy-san and he'll never do that. Besides he saved Fishman Island so the prophecy can't be real," denied Vivi.
"Well that is true. The thing is that Shyarly's prophecies always come true. It may not be today, or tomorrow or even in years but they always happen. It's just that after Luffy-kun and his friends saved Fishman Island, the prophecy was forgotten," explained Fukaboshi.
"Now I'm beginning to wonder just what she meant," said Fukaboshi.
"But Luffy-sama would never do that. I know things have been bad for him but he'll never do that," said Shirahoshi fully believing in Luffy's innocence.
"Yeah you tell him Shirahoshi-chan," said Vivi fully agreeing with her little sister.
"We'll either way I still want to hear what Madame Shyarly has to say," said Fukaboshi.
That was something both Vivi and Shirahoshi could agree with, though unlike Fukaboshi who was simply curious, the two girls wanted to know so that they could prove that the prophecy is false and that Luffy was innocent and would never do that.
"When I saw the vision the first time, I saw a lot of destruction around and the one standing in the center of it was someone wearing a Straw Hat. That person I assumed was Straw Hat Luffy and the destruction I saw I assumed was Fishman Island," began Shyarly.
"The thing is, I couldn't actually tell if the destruction I saw was actually the destruction of Fishman Island," continued Shyarly.
This got everyone confused for as long as they knew the former fortune teller, she always knew exactly what she was talking about with regards to her prophecies, the only uncertainty being the timing. This however was the first time she admitted that she couldn't make sense of her vision.
"Madame Shyarly what are you saying?" asked a citizen nearby.
"At the time, the destruction I saw was so large scale that I couldn't make sense of it, the only thing I knew was that Straw Hat Luffy would be the cause of it. I only assumed that it would be Fishman Island because he was already on the island at the time," explained Shyarly about her misinterpretation of her prediction.
"This vision however was much different from my previous ones. All my previous visions had something to give me an idea as to what exactly the vision meant. With the beginning of the Golden Age of Pirates, I saw many pirates taking to the seas and rampaging about. With the Marineford War I saw two large armies battling each other with the Great Pirate Whitebeard leading one of them. But this vision however, I saw nothing really telling me anything useful. All I see is Straw Hat Luffy standing in the center of absolute destruction," continued Shyarly.
"But thinking back I really did not really try to think about that vision. At the time, the pure large scale destruction I saw was so traumatizing that I was unable to think properly and instead just panicked and assumed that Straw Hat Luffy would destroy Fishman Island. But now that I really think about it, the destruction I saw in that vision, is far too large to be just Fishman Island. In fact the destruction I saw far exceeded even the War of the Best. At least with that vision, I could tell that it was a battle between two forces one being Whitebeard's men. But with this one, the destruction is so great that is impossible to tell anything from it," said Shyarly.
This got many all the citizens listening to feel chills run down their spine. For them, if Fishman Island was destroyed, they couldn't imagine anything worst, but to hear that the destruction is so great that even the destruction of their island would not be enough, it was something they did not want to imagine. Also the War of the Best was the greatest War to their knowledge, the one time when the three great powers of the world clashed. To think that the destruction that Shyarly saw was far beyond that, they didn't even want to think about such a thing.
For the Straw Hats it was nearly the same, despite many of them having seen many terrible things such as the Alabasta Civil War and the dreadful Buster Call, they knew both those things were small compared to the War of the Best. So to hear that destruction on an even greater scale than that war made them all shiver at the thought. Even worse, was that Luffy, their own captain would be in the eye of the storm made it even worse. Luffy may have attracted trouble like a magnet, but this was different. This wasn't him trying to save his friends, this was him destroying everything. They didn't want to believe it and did not want to believe the former mermaid prophet but something about the way she was talking compelled them all to listen. She didn't seem like the kind of fortune tellers that appear at circuses and amusements parks, from the way she was talking, she was the real deal and her vision is as real as it is scary.
"Now looking at the current state of the world, the deaths of three Yonko, the Revolutionary Army's Invasion of Mariejois that kind of destruction certainly matches up to my vision," said Shyarly.
At least this made sense to everyone. According the Shyarly, the destruction she saw far surpassed the War of the Best which was a battle involving the world government and the late Yonko Whitebeard. But that was only one Yonko. The recent events involved not one but three Yonko. At that was just the beginning for the largest and greatest invasion ever took place shortly afterwards one that completely overthrew the organization that ruled the world for hundreds of years.
"Given that Straw Hat Luffy was just here not too long ago and when the Revolutionary Army invaded Mariejois, he was part of it, that meant that he was a revolutionary for only a short time. But given that it was in that short space of time that the Army specifically chose to invade Mariejois, that might mean that Luffy's joining of the Army is what prompted them to invade Mariejois," explained Shyarly.
The chilling revelation left everyone stunned even the Straw Hats. Not even they considered this possibility. They knew that Luffy was apart of the Invasion of Mariejois and he personally slew Akainu, but they never actually considered the fact that it was because Luffy joined that Dragon chose to have the Army invade in the first place. With the power of the other twelve Knights of D, they couldn't understand how just one new member no matter how strong or gifted could have such an impact on Dragon and the Army that his mere joining would cause the greatest invasion in history. Just how special was Luffy to be able to have caused such a massive event to take place? Even the war that Luffy's deceased older brother Ace influenced was small compared to this.
"Also given that Red Hair, Kaido and Big Mam were slain just before the Invasion, that suggests that Straw Hat Luffy's joining of the army might have caused that as well. I don't know if they really had anything to do with it but I'm sure that Straw Hat Luffy's decision might have caused a chain reaction that somehow indirectly led to the killing of those three Yonko," continued Shyarly with her explanation.
It was not known to the citizens of Fishman Island that the army was in fact responsible for the deaths of three Yonko but to a select few it was. The Straw Hats knew this from Doflamingo and Drake themselves while Shirahoshi and her family along with Vivi, Keimi and her friends knew this from the Straw Hats who chose to tell them this. Shyarly was sure that Luffy's joining of the army was somehow connected to the deaths of the three Yonko but she didn't know exactly what it was. The Straw hats knew that she was right, it was indeed Luffy's decision that made that historic event happen. The only difference would be that Blackbeard, not the army killed Shanks but given his alliance with Dragon, even that would count as the Army slaying Shanks. And of course Luffy personally killed Big Mam though it wasn't known to many.
"And finally there is Straw Hat Luffy's lineage. From what we've heard from that fishman, Luffy is related not only to the Revolutionary Dragon but also to a Tenryuubito. And he is a direct descendant to a legendary warrior of immense strength. I'm not one to care about heritage but even I cannot ignore such a powerful bloodline," continued Shyarly.
"The amount of destruction that followed him, his powerful heritage, all this has finally led me to figure out what my vision really meant. When I said that Straw Hat Luffy would destroy Fishman Island, I meant it. However the destruction he would cause is not limited to just Fishman Island," said Shyarly.
She then took a pause before finally revealing the true nature of her prediction.
"Straw Hat Luffy will destroy the world," finally revealed Shyarly the dark nature of the prophecy.
The entire area was silenced upon hearing that. Straw Hat Luffy would destroy the world. They heard many doomsday prophecies from many crazy people however they were never taken seriously. This time however it sounded real.
"W – W – Wait a minute Madame Shyarly, you can't be serious, I mean t – t – the world," said a nearby citizen.
"Fishman Island is a part of the world. And if Straw Hat Luffy destroys it, then Fishman Island would also be destroyed as well," replied Shyarly.
Seeing everyone around her wanting to argue, Shyarly chose to explain.
"Straw Hat Luffy's joining of the Revolutionary Army has had far more impact than anything else. You know just how much changes the death of Whitebeard brought about. And he is just one Yonko. Here three Yonko were killed. And I do not need to explain just how much the world has changed and would change now that the world government has been overthrown. And all that has happened because of Straw Hat Luffy," explained Shyarly.
No one could deny her logic there.
"Now you know why he would destroy the world. So many disastrous and world changing events have followed him in such a short time. These events are on such a massive scale that the entire world is shaken to its core. And Fishman Island is not exempt from the effects," continued Shyarly.
No one chose to reply as the logic was there.
"From what we heard from that fishman, the Revolutionary Leader Dragon intents to make Luffy the new emperor of the world. Thus he is going to spread his own ideals through his son. This is what my prediction meant. In spreading his father's ideals, Straw Hat Luffy will destroy everything, he will destroy the world," revealed Shyarly.
Now the prophecy made sense. The amount of destruction that followed him, the largest earth shattering changes in history and finally the spreading of his father's ideals, when all these elements combine, the changes that will follow will be so great that the world will torn asunder. Death, violence and destruction would follow and Luffy by following his father will destroy everything. It was a terrible realization for everyone.
It may have affected everyone but none more so than those who knew Luffy personally, mainly his crew, Vivi, Shirahoshi and his other friends. They cannot believe that Luffy would do such terrible things. Usually he only did massive things like this to save his friends. Invading Ennies Lobby to save Robin, breaking into Impel Down and entering Marineford to save his brother. But now Luffy wasn't trying to save anyone, he is spreading the will of the darkest being in history. It filled all of them with dread, fear and rage that Luffy was so corrupted by that man that he would now destroy everything. The Straw Hats may not been firm believers of prophecies but they could certainly see the destruction that Dragon would make Luffy commit.
"Right now the world is fairly stable after the chaos from the deaths of the three Yonko and the overthrow of the world government. So Straw Hat Luffy wouldn't introduce that much destruction into the world right now. However I sense that a massive event, one far greater than the War of the Best, greater than the deaths of the three Yonko and even greater than the Invasion of Mariejois will take place. And this event, Straw Hat Luffy will be in the middle of it," said Shyarly.
The Straw Hats knew that the stability of the world was only due to slavery and it made them all ill to think that Dragon was able to convince Luffy to go along with such a heinous thing. But they, and everyone for that matter wondered just what event was Shyarly talking about. With the Marineford War, all three great powers of the world clashed, with the deaths of three Yonko, one of those three great powers was almost completely destroyed and with the Overthrow of the World Government, the most powerful ruling organization of the world was destroyed. And yet according to the former fortune teller, an event even larger than that would take place. Just what even could actually so great that it completely overshadows such major world events?
While Shyarly was explaining the meaning behind her predictions, the gears in Robin's head were spinning.
"If Luffy was the one to come on Darcia's behalf to fulfill the promise, then Luffy triggered Shirahoshi to unlock Poseidon's power. By doing that, Wet Hair Caribou was able to discover Shirahoshi's power which he told to Doflamingo who in turn told Dragon. Dragon in turn sent Sanbi here to take her," thought Robin.
"Also by joining the army, it instigated Dragon to unleash his Knights onto not only the world government, but the Yonko, thus leading the world to the way it is. That in turn led Luffy to becoming future emperor and the one who will destroy the world in Shyarly's prophercy" continued Robin thinking about all this.
"It's as if the promised one is destroying everything. How could Luffy get Shirahoshi to raise Noah if he's doing his father's bidding? He's going to destroy everything, including Fishman Island? Just how will Joyboy's half of the promise be completed now?" thought Robin.
Robin could see that there was a clash between Shyarly's prophecy and JoyBoy's history. How will JoyBoy's promise be kept if Fishman Island is destroyed? But she was sure they were both true so the question was how would this be resolved? Would one not come true or would both happen. There was obvious truth in both but the clash between the two complicated things so she couldn't predict which would happen. Normally she would not be interested in this as an archaeologist is interested in history, in other words the past, not the future. But given how connected Shyarly's prophecy is to Luffy, she just couldn't ignore it.
"Look at the destruction that the battle between the Straw Hats and that powerful Fishman is causing. It is far more than the destruction caused by Hody's gang. If Straw Hat Luffy never joined the army, then perhaps Sanbi would never have come for her and this destruction would never have happened. With this amount of damage, it is like Fishman Island is being destroyed. Now the rest of the world is next," said Shyarly.
Everyone present indeed examined the damage the battle between the Straw Hats and Sanbi created. Buildings were destroyed and there was massive property damage. It was indeed far greater than the damage the New Fishman Pirates inflicted. Unlike them, Sanbi was much stronger and thus inflicting far more devastating damage to the island. And unlike Hody's group, Sanbi was holding his own against the Straw Hats so they couldn't limit the collateral damage. Also that battle was restricted to inside the Gyoncorde plaza and since there were no buildings there, damage was minimal. Here however buildings, property and other collateral damage is piling up though luckily no one was hurt. But still the sight looked truly like the destruction of Fishman Island, like Shyarly's prophecy is really coming true, which meant that the rest of the world will be next in line.
Sanbi having been listening to all this decided to let his voice be heard.
"I heard about you Madame Shyarly, your predictions are said to be accurate and it is correct however your interpretation of it is wrong," said Sanbi.
Shyarly along with everyone else even the Straw Hats turned their attention to Sanbi.
"You said that you saw Luffy surrounded by destruction. I can assure that the destruction that you see is the destruction of enemies of the army both of which the Yonko and the World Government are part of. He has no intention on destroying the world. He merely wishes to spread Lord Dragon's will. And part of his will is the destruction of all his enemies. However Dragon-sama does not wish for any widespread destruction or loss of life," argued Sanbi.
"Like we're supposed to believe that," replied Nami vehemently.
"You can believe whatever you want but I can assure you that it is the truth. Dragon-sama's goal is to make this world a better place and to do that he has to destroy anyone who gets in his way. That is what your vision meant Madame Shyarly, Luffy destroying all enemies of the army" replied Sanbi.
"You know for some guy who says that he wants to make this world better he sure has a way of doing it. Taking slaves and from what that beautiful mermaid saw, destroying everything. I don't believe nor care too much about predictions and prophecies even if it's from a mermaid, but if what she saw is true, then Dragon clearly only wants to destroy everything that could pose a threat to him," countered Sanji.
"Dragon-sama is merely taking measures to ensure this world is better. Taking the scum from this world and putting them where they deserve, suffering and doing what they could to make up for all the suffering they have caused. And enemies of the army are trying to prevent Dragon-sama's vision from coming true, to prevent him from doing what's best for this world. They must be taken out otherwise the problems of this world will continue if not get worse," replied Sanbi.
"Like we'll believe that after all the shit he did to us," retorted Sanji.
"You got in his way, thus you all are enemies. And like I said you could believe what you want but it wouldn't change anything. As for the destruction of Fishman Island, all the damage so far is merely collateral damage. No life has been lost after all I can't hurt my own people and Dragon-sama doesn't want innocents to get hurt, only those who deserve it," replied Sanbi.
"You and Dragon claim that you don't want innocents hurt yet here you are taking away, an innocent young mermaid away from her friends and family," replied Robin.
"We have no intention of doing that. We want her power, not take her away from her loved ones. She'll be able to see them again. All that will happen is that her powers will be used for a greater cause. But I can assure that we have no intention of separating her from her friends, family and people. Dragon-sama is only cruel to people who deserve it such as pirates and other enemies of the army. And the mermaid princess is neither," said Sanbi.
Robin didn't reply knowing it would be pointless to argue with the fishman.
"Anyway the one thing that I do agree with Madame Shyarly is with that so called major event that will happen. Dragon-sama himself has confirmed that this massive cataclysmic event will happen," said Sanbi.
"I'm sure he's does, after all he's probably going to be the one to start it," said Zoro.
"Regardless it will happen, enemies of the army will surely be destroyed and the world will surely be at peace," said Sanbi.
"Peace, peace how could you call that peace. From what we heard a battle bigger than any will soon happen. So many lives will be lost. How could you say such a thing is for peace?" shouted Vivi.
"I'm done trying to argue my point with you. You wouldn't listen to reason no matter. But I will say this, the mermaid princess is coming with me. I am done talking here, I say it's time we finish this," said Sanbi with absolution.
"For once we agree on something," replied Zoro ready to finish this once and for all.
At last another chapter is out. Sorry if it took a while but life in general is making it harder and harder to work on this story. Anyway just some things to say.
First I would like to thank Nyame for creating a troupe page for One Piece Final Holy War. I've read it and it looks really interesting. So once again thank you Nyame, you're awesome. Here is the link to the troupe page: /FanFic/OnePieceFinalHolyWar
As usual I want to point out that this fic diverges after 653 and episode 573. So everything after that, the Punk Hazzard and Dressrosa arc have no impact on this story.
It was recently revealed in Oda's Dressrosa's arc that Sabo is indeed alive and the number 2 of the Revolutionary Army. However his Sabo and my Sabo are vastly different. Oda's Sabo ate the flame flame fruit while Final Holy War Sabo ate the dragon dragon fruit. Oda's Sabo looks similar to Luffy while Final Holy War Sabo has long blonde flowing air and bishounen features to contrast Luffy's appearance. Oda's Sabo acts similar to Luffy while Final Holy War Sabo is calm cool and collected, like Itachi and Pain from Naruto and Byakuya and Haschwalth from Bleach.
Also in Oda's One Piece we can safely say that the Revolutionary Army itself is good. However Dragon himself could still be evil. We don't exactly know for sure. He could easily be acting good in order to get people like Sabo to do his bidding and then reveal his true colors. Not saying it is but we wouldn't know for sure until we see more of Dragon. But it is safe to say that Oda's Sabo is a good person. But luckily for now Dragon seems like a good person.
Again the reason that I chose Dragon as the final villain is first, the villain will have to be really powerful and mysterious to outclass guys like Akainu and Blackbeard. In addition, the villain I felt had to be someone connected to D and the Void Century and Dragon seems to qualify. Dragon is the equivalent of Madara from Naruto and Yhwach from Bleach.
Now to answer some questions from reviews.
Many of the abilities of the top Revolutionaries where inspired by other shows and you could see similarities. For example Bell D Kirov's blood blood fruit is in a way similar to Alucard's power when you think about it. Likewise Hannibal's panther panther fruit is similar to Grimmjow. Geese's wire wire fruit is just like Walter C Donez's wires. Many of the abilities seen in this fic is similar to many of those in other shows.
The surviving marines are the good ones like Smoker, Tashigi, Hina, Coby and Helmeppo etc. So far Smoker, Tashigi, Hina, Coby and Helmeppo are definitely alive. Garp, Sengoku and Aokiji are also alive but they remember they left the marines. All good marines are alive just that I may not name them.
The Straw Hat allies don't have an HQ. In fact they haven't even really began rebelling as of yet. Right now the Straw Hats are not really interested in taking down the Revolutionary. They more want to just get Luffy back. It's the same thing in Oda's One Piece. The Straw Hats don't get involved in anything unless a friend is threatened. For example when Keimi was kidnapped, the Straw Hats were only interested in rescuing her, not freeing all the slaves. Likewise the Straw Hats don't really care for Alabasta itself, but they care more for Vivi. Anyway I don't think I'll give them an HQ but they'll all gather at one location for the Final Battle against the Revolutionary Army.
I don't think I'll bring Enel into the story because in my opinion he didn't seem to have much of an effect on the story to begin with. Also I don't think Oars from Thriller Bark will be appearing because remember, Oars is dead, the only reason he was able to fight was because of Moriah's devil fruit. Oars Jr could still appear though.
The illusion illusion fruit can be used on a large scale but then it takes much more concentration so it will be easy for anyone to tell that something is off. But if the user focuses it on a single object like a person, it is far more effective and difficult to tell that it is fake.
Luffy is very angry. First Akainu killed Ace. The world nobles enslaved Hancock and made her suffer. They also made Jinbe and Shirahoshi's people suffer. The world government tried to kill Robin at Ennies Lobby and made her suffer unspeakably by destroying Ohara. The world nobles tried to kill Sabo when he was younger. The world government made Cassandra suffer greatly by separating her from Luffy and confining her to Mariejois and preventing her from seeing her friends. Also he thinks that they killed his mother even though she is still alive. Finally pirates brutally gang raped Bonny who was the woman who loved Ace and brutally tortured Bon Clay for protecting her, the same Bon Clay who sacrificed himself for Luffy. Yep, Luffy is one of the angriest people in the story.
Luffy gets stronger, faster and more dangerous as he gets angrier. Remember as he gets angrier his "will" to destroy increases, meaning his haki increases. And he already has kamishoku to power up his haki. And since Luffy has great mastery of the conqueror's haki he can use it to increased his powered up enraged "will" and kamishoku.
Yes Pluton will be included in the story. More about that as the story continues.
Now that has been taken care of, time to clarify some things with the usual end of chapter notes.
The fight between the Straw Hats and Sanbi is really heating up. Zoro and Sanji have been able to wound him and Franky has become the Iron Pirate Franky Shogun and Chopper has gone into Monster Point. This is typical as to how all of Oda's fights go. The fight starts of slow but it gradually picks up. So I'm trying to replicate that.
Penetrating Sanbi's powerful armament haki. Sanbi being a D posses extremely powerful armament haki enhanced by the power of D. However even though it is extremely strong, doesn't mean that it is impenetrable. The secret is to use more direct attacks. For most of the fight the Straw Hats were using ranged attacks or more low powered attacks because they didn't want to get too close to Sanbi since he was so powerful and mainly a close ranged fighter. And Zoro and Sanji only used low powered attacks so that they could properly evade Sanbi, after all if they apply more power to their attacks, it would not only be more time consuming but leave them more vulnerable which is not a good thing against someone as powerful as Sanbi. However Zoro applied more power to his attack which was how he was able to hurt him forgoing caution in exchange for inflicting real damage to Sanbi. In addition, Zoro's aerial attacks loose power with distance. So most of his ranged attacks are weakened to the point that they don't do much damage to Sanbi's enhanced busoshoku haki. However by attacking directly with his swords themselves rather using ranged moves, his attacks don't lose power which means that they are strong enough to actually harm him. A similar thing applies to Sanji, a little spinning wouldn't make his Diable Jambe strong enough to wound Sanbi hence why his attacks kept failing, but spinning longer and faster would. But the time it takes to charge a stronger Diable Jambe combined with having to actually directly hit Sanbi is dangerous given how strong Sanbi is. So he needs a distraction such as Zoro or the other Straw Hats to buy him time to power up his Diable Jambe long enough. Even then Sanbi can still take it and getting close to him is always risky.
Sanbi using conqueror's haki. Remember the Will of D is only really applicable when you use haki enslavement to effectively use your own conqueror's haki to conquer and enslave your own haki. This pretty much prevents you from using haoshoku haki to intimidate or knock out enemies. However if you stop applying the conqueror's haki on yourself, you can once again use it on your enemies. This is used when you are facing hundreds or thousands of weak enemies where you don't require the power of D to increase your strength since you are facing weak enemies. Instead it would be more practical to just knock them out with haoshoku haki. Another application is to temporarily stop using haki enslavement on yourself to use conqueror's haki to intimidate your enemies. That was what Sanbi was doing. Of course it is possible for an enemy to break your concentration thus stopping you from applying haki enslavement.
The nature of Madame Shyarly's Prophecy has been revealed. According to her vision, Luffy would destroy Fishman Island. However now that has been cleared up. Luffy would not really destroy Fishman Island directly, but he'll do so indirectly. The prophecy is that Luffy will destroy the world. And since Fishman Island is obviously part of the world, then Fishman Island would be destroyed in the process as well.
Madam Shyarly's Prophecy is up for interpretation. Oda has never really explained what the prophecy truly meant, it only said that Luffy will destroy Fishman Island. Because Oda hasn't covered it, I could use that to my advantage and instead add my own interpretation of it to fit this fic. So that is what I did. I interpreted the prophecy to make it relevant to Luffy's fallen-angel like status and Dragon's status as the final antagonist.
Remember this fic is meant to tie up loose ends in Oda's One Piece. And Madame Shyarly's Prophecy is one of them. So since Oda hasn't done so already, I chose to do so myself with my own interpretation. And given this is the Return to Fishman Island arc, things that were not cleared up in Oda's Fishman Island arc such as the story of Joy Boy where answered in this arc.
Oda never actually showed us Madame Shyarly's vision. He only showed a silhouette of Luffy surrounded by fire. He never actually showed Luffy surrounded by the corpses of fishmen and mermaids, nor did he show the ruin of the Ryugu Palace. He only showed Luffy surrounded by destruction. In other words, in the vision Oda never showed anything that distinctly pointed to the destruction of Fishman Island specifically, just destruction in general. So I chose to capitalize on that by saying that the destruction was not of Fishman Island, but of the entire world. And that the destruction was so large scale that it couldn't have been just limited to Fishman Island.
The reason Madam Shyraly misinterpreted the vision was that unlike her previous visions, this one was just absolute destruction, it didn't show anything specific such as Whitebeard's face or anything more detailed to tell her more about the vision. So she had nothing substantial to draw any proper conclusions. Also the vision was so devastating and traumatizing that she panicked and instead assumed that Luffy will destroy Fishman Island. However now that she had a chance to calm down and really think about it, she was able to more accurately make sense out of the vision.
Of course the reason she was able to figure out what her vision meant was because Sanbi came to Fishman Island and explained the history of Joy Boy, who Luffy's mother is, the true depths of Luffy's rage etc. Without knowing all that Shyraly would have never figured out the prophecy.
The reason that the vision is of Luffy destroying the world is that ever since Luffy joined the Revolutionary Army, massive changes have taken place, even bigger than when Whitebeard was killed. Over the two year timeskip large scale changes took place when Whitebeard died. And he was only just one Yonko. Here however not one but three Yonko were killed just after Luffy joined the Revolutionary Army. Not only that, but also right after his joining, the biggest event in history took place, the Invasion of Mariejois and the fall of the World Government. In other words, destruction upon destruction has taken place ever since Luffy joined the Revolutionary Army. And one more event revolving around Luffy has still yet to happen, by far the most destructive one yet, the biggest war in history, that being the "Final Battle."
Again just wanted to point out that while the Straw Hats believe the Blackbeard is merely in an alliance with Dragon, the truth is that Blackbeard himself is the final and most secretive member of the Knights of D. Even though he is famous for capturing Ace, killing Whitebeard and becoming a Yonko, it is known to very few that he is in fact the final member of the Knights of D. Again what we the audience know and what the Straw Hats know are two different things.
How does Luffy destroying the world relate specifically to the destruction of Fishman Island. Remember it was because Luffy first came to Fishman Island that Shirahoshi was able to awaken Poisedon's power. Caribou was able to find out about Shirahoshi's power who in turn communicated this to Doflamingo who then finally told Dragon. This prompted Dragon to send Sanbi to Fishman Island where the battle between him and the Straw Hats would create such massive collateral damage that it would be like Luffy is destroying Fishman Island. After all Luffy was the main catalyst to all this culminating with the arrival of Sanbi and the battle between him and the Straw Hats.
There is an obvious clash between the Story of Joyboy and Madame Shyarly's prophecy. According to the story of Joyboy, Luffy is suppose to get Shirahoshi to raise Noah. But according to Madam Shyarly's prophecy, Luffy would destroy the world and by extension Fishman Island. How could Luffy fulfill Joyboy's role if he destroys the world? That particular aspect will be revealed later.
Madam Shyarly's Prophecy is the "doomsday prophecy" of One Piece: Many anime and manga involve some type of dark prophecy about the end of the world and usually the protagonist is at the very center. Madame Shyarly's Prophecy is the One Piece's version. She saw an apocalyptic vision and that Luffy is the child of prophecy. And indeed with his joining of Dragon, destruction upon destruction has taken place. But the largest and most apocalyptic battle has yet to take place. It is "The Final Battle" where everything will come to a close.
Sanbi countered on saying that Madame Shyarly's Prophecy only refers to Luffy being surrounded by the destruction of Dragon's enemies. But since Dragon is the final antagonist, the world is naturally his enemy. So Luffy being surrounded by the destruction of Dragon's enemies actually refers to Luffy being surrounded by the destruction of the world itself, since the world is Dragon's enemy, after all he's the final villain.
Madame Shyarly predicts that an event, bigger than the deaths of Shanks, Kaido and Big Mom, even bigger than the Invasion of Mariejois will take place. This event is the "Final Battle" that everyone is hyping about and Dragon himself has confirmed that it will happen. This Final Battle is the big war that everyone is talking about.
Okay I think that's about everything, again sorry about the delay but life is just not getting any easier for me. Please leave a review behind.
