The Natural Enemy of Poseidon
I decided that since I haven't posted any chapters in a while, I would instead post two chapters. Think of it as a reward for your patience. So please read the previous chapter "Battle Against the Fishman Knight" before this one since I posted two chapters.
Questions that people had in their reviews are going to be in the previous chapter "Battle Against the Fishman Knight." So please read that chapter before this one to get answers to some of your questions.

Several sea kings called forth by the power of Poseidon towered over all of Fishman Island, a truly terrifying sight not unlike the one ten years back when Shirahoshi accidently summoned the sea kings in desperation upon seeing her mother about to get killed by a Tenryuubito.
"S-S-Sea Kings," stuttered a civilian watching the battle.
"Just like that time ten years ago and when Noah nearly crushed us," said another citizen who remembered both incidents.
"Th-they're not going to sink the island, are they," questioned another fearful citizen.
Surume despite being a massive Kraken himself couldn't help but feel fearful under the frightening gaze of so many enormous sea kings. While he was quite large himself, probably of equal size to quite a few of them, some of the sea kings where still much larger than he was. And to top it off, he was outnumbered. Yes he had every reason to be fearful.
"Shirahoshi-hime summoned the sea kings yet again in her fear of seeing one of her friends nearly killed," said Jinbe in surprise.
"Father, Shirahoshi called the sea kings again, for the third time," said Fukaboshi.
"Hm, I just hope that she is still able to control them like last time or else it will mean the end of Fishman Island," said Neptune gravely.
Vivi looked at the massive towering sea monsters in great awe and fear. As a princess she rarely saw any kind of danger outside of Baroque Works and the Mariejois Invasion. However both cases were different from this. Baroque Works was a criminal organization and the Mariejois Invasion was the destruction of the world's dominant superpower by the strongest fighters she'd ever witness. But this was different. In both those cases she was dealing with people. This however was a force of nature. The sea kings she saw were only surface ones and thus very small. These however were gigantic monsters of epic proportions. This was something she'd never seen before and couldn't put words to describe it. And even she couldn't help the fear on her face.
"S-S-Sea Kings, they're huge," said Vivi with incredible fear in her voice.
"Yes, Vivi-sama, I called them," replied Shirahoshi timidly.
"Eh, you called them," replied Vivi back in shock at the sight of the terrifying monsters.
"So that's you power Shirahoshi-chan," said Vivi softly.
"Sea kings, this is just like last time," said Zoro who as back on his feet after his skirmish with Sanbi.
"Yeah but this time I don't think they're here to save us," said Franky still inside the Shogun.
This was true because the last time, the sea kings saved them from the falling Noah. This time however it didn't look like they were here to help.
"It's okay everyone," said Nami getting her nakama's attention.
"Shirahoshi called them, we should be fine," said Nami looking at the sea kings.
"Y-Y-Yeah but," stuttered Usopp.
"Let's trust Shirahoshi-chan," said Robin with a firm yet gentle voice.
She like Nami had faith in Shirahoshi. Perhaps it was the bond they shared with Shirahoshi, loosing they're mothers and most importantly, they're love for Luffy.
Sanbi looked at the sea kings neutrally. There was no fear on his face. While most would be quivering at the sight of so many massive sea kings, Sanbi was not most. Part of the reason he was specifically selected for this mission was because he had specific attributes able to deal with this.
"So you've finally done it Shirahoshi, you've finally used Poseidon's power," said Sanbi still not taking his gaze off the sea kings.
"But do not forgot, the reason I was chosen to take you was because I have specific abilities capable of dealing with your power," said Sanbi turning his head to face Shirahoshi.
"While most of the strongest warriors can certainly deal with these sea kings, when they're underwater it is a different matter entirely. Devil fruit users are completely helpless in the water and non devil fruit users still cannot breathe underwater and are still weaker due to the water pressure. That is why most people cannot deal with sea kings of this size while underwater," said Sanbi.
"But I am a fishman. Unlike humans I can breathe underwater and in fact get stronger while in the water. And that increase in power, the lack of any weakness and kamishoku means that I am capable of dealing with your sea king army," finished Sanbi.
Shirahoshi did not reply since he was right and she honestly forgotten that part. She was simply concerned with Nami who was about to be killed by Sanbi.
"Now watch princess Shirahoshi as I show you why Lord Dragon chose me for this mission, watch as I slaughter every last one of these sea creatures," said Sanbi.
Suddenly Sanbi left the battlefield and took off into the water heading straight for the sea kings intent on killing all of them.
Sanbi charged at the sea kings like an underwater fighter jet. His speed was so great that it completely outclassed even the fastest swimmers of the sea, the mermaids. While Hody was able to achieve that feat, he did it through cheating, by means of performance enhancement drugs. With Sanbi, it was all his, natural strength, experience and pride as both a fishman and D. He was indeed the ultimate marine life form.
"He's not serious is he, he's actually going to take down all those giant sea kings," said Franky.
"He is, remember what he said, he's different from most people and his abilities make him particularly suited to this kind of scenario," replied Robin.
Franky did not reply as he watched Sanbi speed towards the sea kings. Not just him, but the rest of the Straw Hats and even everyone else watched with awe and fascination as the powerful fishman continued moving forward at the sea kings with great speed. Normally whenever this many sea kings of this size were encountered, you would normally head in the opposite direction. But not Sanbi of the Knights of D, he is heading straight towards them.
Sanbi suddenly hit one of them like a speeding torpedo. He moved so fast that he literally plunged right through the sea kings.
"No way, he went right through that giant sea king," shouted Usopp in shock.
The blood from the sea king was oozing out and the water was beginning to turn red. Luckily the water was far too great so it did nothing to obstruct the view of anyone, especially not Sanbi himself.
One of the other sea kings that had "arms" tried to hit Sanbi. Sanbi easily countered by stopping with his hands not moving an inch. He then grabbed said arm and literally ripped if clean off before physically grabbing the sea king and throwing it towards nother larger sea king knocking them both back a little. It didn't go back much but the fact that it went back at all given its humungous size and the fact that he was able to physically manhandle a sea king vastly larger than himself was a very impressive thing.
Another sea king swam towards him head first and Sanbi countered by doing the same thing, swimming headfirst towards the sea king. The two sea creatures, one a sea king the other a fishman swam straight towards each other. The giant sea king looked like a slow moving massive submarine while Sanbi looked like a high speed torpedo. And just as how the torpedo would explode upon hitting the submarine, something similar happened. The sea king opened its wide mouth to "eat" Sanbi and Sanbi reacted by diving straight into the mouth. Except instead of getting eaten, he plunged right out of the rear end of the sea king killing it instantly leaving a trail of sea king blood behind him.
Turning around Sanbi saw yet another sea king swim towards him. Suddenly Sanbi dash straight towards it headfirst at high speed. The two heads collided, one big and slow, the other small and fast. And here small and fast won, for when Sanbi and the sea king headbutted each other, the sea king was knocked out while Sanbi remained unscathed.
Sensing something Sanbi saw another sea king trying its luck.
"These things just don't know when to quit," said Sanbi in annoyance.
Using his enhanced speed from being underwater, Sanbi quickly maneuvered around to its underbelly and gave it a sharp hitting stopping it in its tracks from pain. Then assuming a fishman karate stance underwater, Sanbi gave it another more concentrated blow causing the sea king to literally blow up into pieces.
"He-he literally blew that sea king up," said Brook in shock.
"Its partly to do with him being a fishman. As a fishman he is much stronger underwater and thus can do much more damage," said Jinbe seeing the fear on the faces of the Straw Hats.
"There is also his incredible mastery of fishman karate. It is all about manipulating water and a sea king is just a huge chunk of water. In fact since a sea king is a sea creature, it is infact made up of more water than humans or other land based creatures. Thus it is far more vulnerable to fishman karate and Sanbi is a true master of it," explained Jinbe.
It did make sense but that didn't mean it wasn't any more of a spectacular and frightening sight.
"But still, to think he could even do something like that, if that had been us, we'd be dead for sure," said Sanji in apprehension.
Even he had to admit that despite being a bastard for trying to kidnap Shirahoshi, there was no denying his power. Killing giant sea kings was nothing new to him. He had hit smaller sea kings with powerful kicks before killing them instantly while on the surface, but killing a giant sea king underwater was something else entirely. Not just killing it, literally blowing it to pieces, something that big, even he couldn't help feeling awe and terror and Sanbi's terrifying power. This guy was nothing like the losers they fought on Fishman Island the last time, this guy was the absolute strongest fishman out there, even Jinbe wouldn't be able to do anything against someone like this.
That was the last sea king but sensing something, he turned to that direction to see even more sea kings coming towards him. Not just him but despite how far the fighting was taking place, the sea kings were so big that everyone could see them coming
"Look father, there's even more sea kings than before," said Fukaboshi.
"Its probably because that Shirahoshi has more control over her powers that more came but I can't be sure," replied Neptune.
"But can they win against someone like him," said Manoboshi.
"That I can't be sure of," replied Neptune gravely.
"Even more sea kings, fine then," said Sanbi who then sped towards them.
Dodging all the sea kings mouths, fins and bodies Sanbi maneuvered his way towards the center of them. Then he began spinning around rapidly. He continued spinning faster and faster and as he began spinning a whirlpool began forming around him with Sanbi himself at the center. The whirlpool was so big and strong that he literally began to suck all the sea kings in.
"He's actually creating a whirlpool big enough to suck all those massive sea kings in," said Brook in awe.
"I can't believe anyone can do something like that," said Nami in equal awe.
Indeed the whirlpool ensnared all the sea kings causing them to be engulfed in it. The sea kings thus began thrown round and round by the massive whirlpool, a frightening thought given how big they were all. Even more frightening was that someone actually created it. The whirlpool continued to spin for a while with the sea kings before soon it slowed down and suddenly died. Soon Sanbi shot away and that to create some distance between himself and the sea kings. Then he began to grab and manipulate the water as if it were cloth preparing to use perhaps his strongest technique.
"He's using that move again," said Chopper now small again since his Monster Point expired some time during Sanbi's fight with the sea kings though he was able to maintain consciousness.
"Except this time he's underwater where he's at his strongest," said Franky.
"I see, so that was what the whirlpool was for," said Jinbe still by Shirahoshi's side.
Turning to Jinbe the Straw Hats listened to his explanation.
"While I pretty sure he could have killed them all, he wanted to do so quickly. By creating that whirlpool, he was able to disorient the sea kings with the rapid spinning. They'll be so disoriented that Sanbi's ultramarine attack will be far more effective on them," stated Jinbe whom as a fishman himself knew about fishman tactics.
The Straw Hats after hearing Jinbe's explanation continued to look at Sanbi preparing to use ultramarine and knew that he was about to finish the battle.
"This wouldn't be pretty," said Sanji looking at Sanbi ready to unleash that powerful technique.
Zoro didn't say anything as he continued to watch. Both him and Sanji were on the receiving end of that technique and it was strong as hell. And that was when he was out of the water. Now that he was in it, that technique was going to be much stronger and far more devastating.
Grabbing the water, Sanbi hurled a massive extremely large water torrent straight towards the incoming sea kings. While that technique was always strong, now it was much stronger since Sanbi was underwater. The attack itself was many times larger than a sea king and was so powerful that it blew all of them back inflicting great damage onto them. The fact that all the sea kings were still disoriented from Sanbi's whirlpool made things worse for them. In the end all of them were defeated.
Amongst all the dead and defeated sea kings, Sanbi stood tall and triumphant. He had just defeated the power of Poseidon. This was why Lord Dragon had chosen him and he certainly delivered and lived up to his leader's expectations. Satisfied that he had finished all the sea kings and none would be arriving anytime soon, he turned his gaze back to his mission, capture Shirahoshi. Swimming back to Fishman Island, he had one thing on his mind, complete his mission.
The citizens of Fishman Island could not believe what they just saw. While merman do not eat meat, fishmen do. Fishmen despite they're abilities underwater having tremendous difficult capturing sea kings, especially those of that size and that many. Hody and his officers, the same Hody that defeated all of Ryuuga Kingdom's army including King Neptune and the three princes feared the power of those sea kings. And yet, Sanbi completely destroys them all.
"That fishman, he – he just decimated all those sea kings," said a citizen in awe and fear.
"Is there any limits to his power?" wondered another citizen out loud.
"Can the Straw Hats really defeat something like that," said another citizen expressing doubt after witnessing Sanbi take out all those sea kings.
"So he truly has the power to stop Shirahoshi's power," said Neptune.
"Even after hearing the logic behind it, I still couldn't believe it until I saw it myself. One being able to topple all those sea kings. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it regardless of the logic behind it," stated Neptune whom despite hearing Sanbi's explanation about why he is the best choice to handle Shirahoshi couldn't quite believe it until they actually saw it with their very eyes.
The Neptune brothers all felt the same way for they all knew the power of the sea kings and yet one single fishman is able to not only match several of them but defeat them all was certainly something they would never expect, regardless of whatever logic they heard. The only way to believe it was to actually see it.
The Sun Pirates particularly Jinbe watch the advancing Sanbi and couldn't help but feel some level of pride. As pirates and essentially warriors, they placed high value on strength, it was not the only thing they valued, but it was one of those things that they did. They prided themselves as fishmen and the natural abilities they had. If there was one thing they had in common with Arlong, it was their pride in the strength they had, though they didn't have Arlong's arrogance and believe that they were the greatest species in the world. Sanbi represented the pinnacle of fishmen and merman, there was no fishman, past or present with his strength. And unlike Hody and the New Fishman Pirates, his strength was all natural. If the circumstances were different, they would have all felt enormous pride that one of their own was able to achieve such power, power that he could stand amongst the best in the world. The fact that he actually wanted humans and fishmen to get along would have made them even more proud. But alas, he was an enemy, a subordinate of the most dangerous being in the world and whom was here to take their princess away. Whatever pride they felt was overshadowed by the fact that he was their enemy, and one that the Straw Hats are going to have great difficulty overcoming.
"Good luck Straw Hats," thought Jinbe in his mind wishing them the best of luck for they would certainly need it.
Vivi herself couldn't help the fear awe and terror. Despite having matured considerably due to infiltrating Baroque Works and seeing giants and dinosaurs this was on a completely different level. She doubted even Crocodile could accomplish what she had just witnessed. And he was a monster in her eyes, capable of defeating everyone in Alabasta by himself though it shouldn't be so much of a surprise given that he was a Warlord at the time. But as much as a powerhouse as Crocodile was, looking at Sanbi, Crocodile had nothing on him. He just decimated a large ground of fully grown massive adult sea kings with ease. His power was on a completely different level from anything she had ever seen. Of course, his power was rivaled by some of the other fighters she saw during the Mariejois Invasion but she was so focused on escaping with her father, Kohza, Igaram, Chaka and Pell along with Shirahoshi, her family and the two ministers that she didn't have time to truly witness their power. Now it was different, she truly could see the great power of Sanbi. It was just like with Crocodile, his power was so vast that no one could do anything against it, no one except one. Now that one person was not with them anymore, on their side actually. Despite having tremendous faith in her friends, to face someone like that without Luffy giving them strength, she truly feared for her friends and above all feared for her little sister.
"Please be careful everyone," said Vivi quietly as she pulled Shirahoshi close to herself in a protective manner hoping against all hope that the Straw Hats can defeat the invincible fishman.
There's not much to explain in this chapter an all questions were answered in the previous chapter "Battle Against the Fishman Knight." But there are a few things I want to explain.
The title of this chapter revolves around Sanbi. Sanbi already explained that his unique abilities allowed him to counter the sea king which was the essentially Poseidon's power. Because of this, he is called, "The Natural Enemy of Poseidon"
This chapter truly presents Sanbi as invincible. In no other chapter does Sanbi come out as strong as in this one. In all the others, the Straw Hats are able to keep up with him but here he completely destroys an army of sea kings. This chapter truly showcases him as "The Strongest Fishman in History" and "The Natural Enemy of Poseidon".
Sanbi's powers all allow him to kill armies of sea kings with ease. Giant sea kings are certainly hard to kill, however by no means impossible. Zoro for example has been able to kill giant sea kings with ease. However that is only one or two. Taking down entire armies of giant sea kings is something even he cannot do. Remember devil fruit users are pretty much powerless in the water. Non devil fruit users have their strength dramatically reduced while underwater and even worse cannot breath. But for a fishman its different, not only can they breath underwater but they get stronger. Now imagine that kind of power-up with Sanbi. He is so strong that he can match the entire Straw Hats, even members like Zoro, Sanji and Franky who are sea king killers. And he can match them on land where he is supposedly weaker. Now imagine how strong he is underwater. He becomes so strong that he can easily slaughter an army of sea kings with ease. This is why Dragon specifically chose him for this mission, because if Shirahoshi was to call the sea kings, then Sanbi could kill them all. In fact he is quite possibly the only member of the Knights, in fact of anyone in the world who could possibly accomplish this. He is indeed the only one who could counter Poseidon's power.
