Chapter 2

Rin suddenly became aware that Sesshomaru was gone. She opened her eyes and sure enough, he was.

"Lord Sesshomaru, where did you go?" Rin questioned when she saw Sesshomaru nowhere in sight.

Rin stood up and noticed it was still dark out, but the sun was soon to rise. Maybe he went to take a bath in the lake. Rin ran into the woods towards the lake and saw Sesshomaru sitting under a tree.

Sesshomaru looked up and notice the sun was about to rise. He had been sitting under the tree for about an hour. She's about to go into heat. I smelt a slight change in her scent yesterday but it's stronger now. I'm worried. I never lose control around females in heat, but I'm already having trouble being around her. Suddenly Sesshomaru noticed Rin's scent nearby.

"Rin, you can come out now." Sesshomaru spoke. Suddenly he sensed something else. Demon.

When Rin heard Sesshomaru's voice telling her to come outshe felt something breathing on her neck. Rin turned around and saw a bear demon, it suddenly roared. Then all of a sudden the demons head was disconnected from its body and fell to her feet.

"Rin, are you alright?" Sesshomaru asked, but Rin just stood there and stared at the decapitated head. Sesshomaru grabbed both of Rin's shoulders. "Rin, talk to me!" Sesshomaru commanded as he started to shake her. When he got no response he pulled her to his chest and held her.

"I'm okay my Lord." Rin softly spoke in Sesshomaru's chest.

Sesshomaru pulled Rin away from him and started to observe her. When he saw she was okay, he picked her up and started to head back to camp. But instead of stopping at camp he kept going. Suddenly Rin saw pink snow falling on her. Cherry Blossoms.

"Lord Sesshomaru, where are we?" Rin asked while Sesshomaru sat her on the ground under the cherry blossom tree. When Rin was situated Sesshomaru sat down next to her and pulled her into his lap.

"I have a gift for you." Sesshomaru spoke as he pulled out the necklace to show Rin.

Rin eye's sparkled at the sight of the necklace. At first she thought it was the necklace from the village until she saw the white strand.

"Lord Sesshomaru, you made this for me?" Rin gasped.

"Do you like it?" Sesshomaru asked. He was about to put it on her but he paused for a second. Should I tell her about what the dragon told me...? I can't lose her. Sesshomaru continued to tie the necklace around Rin's neck; it fit perfectly above the necklace he made her last year.

"I love it Sesshomaru but you already gave me so much." Rin answered as she thought of the Kimono.

"Don't worry, it's your birthday. I even had the necklace preserved so it will last forever." Sesshomaru assured her as he wrapped his arms around her.

"Thank You Sesshomaru." Rin spoke as her and Sesshomaru watched the sun rise. When the sun was finally done rising Sesshomaru picked Rin up and carried her back to camp.

Once back at camp they saw that Jaken was cooking breakfast. Sesshomaru put Rin down on her feet and walked over to see what Jaken was cooking.

"Where do we journey today my Lord?" Rin asked Sesshomaru.

"We're heading into Inu-Yasha's forest today. There's a meadow I saw yesterday that I would like to visit." Sesshomaru answered while making sure Jaken was making something edible for Rin.

"That's sounds like fun! Can we visit Kagome?" Rin said as she danced around the camp.

"We'll see. We're leaving right after breakfast." Sesshomaru spoke as soon as Jaken was done cooking and ready to serve the fish.

Rin sat down by the camp fire and ate her fish while Jaken was packing up the camp and Sesshomaru was watching her. As soon as Rin was finish eating, Sesshomaru helped her get on Ah-Un, and they headed off toward the east.

Rin was sitting under the cherry Blossom tree watching the pink snow cover the ground. She watched as the flowers started to cover her lower body, it was just like sitting in the snow except snow was white and cold.

"Rin! Rin!" Rin heard Lord Sesshomaru call for her. She looked up and saw Sesshomaru's figure out in the distance.

"Coming Lord Sesshomaru!" Rin laughed as she ran toward his figure, but suddenly the pink snow got thicker and it was getting harder to see. Then suddenly Lord Sesshomaru disappeared.

"Rin! Rin!" She heard Lord Sesshomaru call for her again, but she couldn't see him.

"Lord Sesshomaru, where are you? I can't see!" Rin started to cry. When he didn't answer her, she gave up and fell to her knees.

"Rin, wake up?" Lord Sesshomaru spoke as he gently shoved her.

"Lord…Sesshomaru." Rin spoke in confusion as she wiped the sleep from her eyes. She sat up and noticed she had fallen asleep on Ah-Un.

"Rin, we're at the meadow. You fell asleep during our travels." Sesshomaru assured her that what she was dreaming wasn't real.

Rin looked up and saw the many different flowers. She had been to a meadow bigger than this one but the way the sun shined down made it look so amazing. Rin knew this was another birthday present from her Lord.

"What do you think?" Sesshomaru caught Rin's attention.

"It's beautiful." Rin's voice quivered as she turned around to face Sesshomaru.

"What's wrong?" Sesshomaru asked when he saw the tears streaming down her face.

"Nothing, I'm just glad that I met you. I would have never experienced theses beautiful things if I hadn't." Rin answered with a smile as she wiped the tears away with her hand. Suddenly, Sesshomaru wrapped his arms around her and brought her to his chest. Being this close to Rin made him realize just how much she had grown this past year. He also noticed a certain part of her, physically, had grown and that scared him.

Hours passed by as Sesshomaru watched Rin run around the meadow. He found her beautiful as she picked flowers and danced in the sunlight. But, he also noticed her scent growing stronger n the erection he had growing with it. Mine he heard the voice in his head and was frightened by it. He had never been scared as he was now.

Sesshomaru stood up n walked into the forest. He walked until he found a small clearing and sat down to meditate. I need to stay calm. As long as I stay calm and stay away from Rin everything will be ok. I just have to wait until she is not in heat anymore.

"Lord Sesshomaru, where are you?" Sesshomaru heard Rin call out. Then he smelled it, the smell that had been haunting him for two days was at its peak. She was in full heat now and all he could do is panic. He felt something in his core start to claw its way to his surface. NO!

"Mine!" the demon growled and Sesshomaru blacked out.

Sesshomaru heard whimpering. Rin. Suddenly his sight cleared and he saw a very frightened Rin. Her new kimono had been shredded and she was doing her best to cover herself up. Tears were running down her face and she was shaking all over, not from being cold but from fright.

Sesshomaru backed up and collapsed on the ground. What have done? Sesshomaru questioned himself then felt the demon inside of him trying to resurface itself again. Sesshomaru started to take deep breaths. I will not lose control. Rin needs my help, my protection.

Without Sesshomaru holding her, Rin collapsed to the ground in front of the tree she was held against. Finally, she let the cries from her lips become louder. She couldn't control her whimpers anymore.

Sesshomaru stood up and walked toward Rin to comfort her. Closer he got to her the harder it was to control his demon, but also the more pain it caused. The closer he got the more frighten Rin became, she was cowering from him. As soon as Sesshomaru picked Rin up she passed out and Sesshomaru carried her back to camp.
