Hey there everyone that is still reading! I'm really sorry I haven't been able to update my stories, I've been grounded from the computer so school is the only place I can get stuff done *Sigh* Thanks for waiting and if you have been reading my other story Into The Game I have to apologize and say that you will have to wait a bit longer to see a new chapter for that. My schedule should get back to normal around mid December!

Thanks for continuing to read my writing and I wish you all a nice thanksgiving!

*Revised as of June 13th*

Thanatos strode into the room where Trigon's spirit slumbered. His wings were now torn and slightly tattered from the fight with Raven of the teen titans.

The room was chiseled out of the red stone found everywhere in Hell, giving it a marble like appearance that befit that of a king. In the center was a large throne that Trigon used to use before he had lost his mortal form. Shattered remains of some large stone were in front of the throne and four pillars, one located in each corner, of horrible carvings decorated the room.

One carving resembled a demon which looked like Trigon was tearing out the throat of his victim; another looked a lot like Raven with her cloak on and everything except with four eyes instead of her normal two. The third was a statue of the many fire elementals that filled Hell. And the last one crumbled to the ground, it looked like it was once a woman but there were too many pieces to form a coherent picture.

There was no Trigon in the room but Thanatos knew otherwise. This room was always inhabited by Trigon. He raised his head to announce his entrance.

"Master, I have returned! The mission has been successful. The young girl Raven is now aware of the presence of her demonic side; soon she won't be able to ignore its corruption." Thanatos bowed with a large maniacal grin on his face. Blood spattered his clothes, both his and the human blood of his victims.

He lost the grin as he recalled the ferocity that Raven had countered his news with. It was… Disturbing…

"Well done Thanatos." The voice seemed to come from everywhere, but nowhere all at once. Dark and guttural, with thin wisps of amusement intertwined between bits of anger, Trigon's voice struck fear into every mortal who heard it, except Thanatos was not mortal.

Thanatos looked around, trying to see if he could catch a glimpse of Trigon's spirit. But although Trigon could not be seen, his evil presence could be felt by everyone. Thanatos had, the moment he had been created.

He recalled his first glimpse of servitude easily. Being formed by Trigon's residual hatred and power that was left lingering around after he destroyed Azerath, Thanatos had risen from the ground to see a ruined city of lava and destruction. And felt a strange call from an unknown being.

He at first tried to resist the call, but later found that no matter what he still ended up chained to Trigon's grip. It started out as a presence, he constantly felt the presence there but he struggled to push it off because he kept thinking of it as leftover residue. He then tracked down the presence in hopes of freeing himself of it. He was so dismayed when he found out that it was a simple spirit, a powerful demonic spirit, but a spirit nonetheless.

Thanatos had found a large red rock that quivered with rage as if the rock itself was alive and a short one-handed blade on the ground in front of it. Thanatos had picked up the blade and before he could think about his actions he plunged the blade into the stone and shattered it. Power and the presence of Trigon filled him, linking them for all eternity.

Now Thanatos was used to it. He was merely an escaped sample of Trigon's power that had neither returned to Trigon nor fled to Raven, he was his own. Trigon was his master, and Thanatos was the servant.

"For being pure leftover energy, you are quite more useful than my weakling of a daughter, the foolish mortal being Slade, and all of my fire elementals." Trigon rumbled. Thanatos smiled and bowed once again, bringing his hands down with him as he crouched to the ground in worship.

"I thank you Trigon, for this existence." Thanatos thanked Trigon for what must have been the thousandth time.

In the wall in front of him, two blood red, baleful eyes opened up and gazed upon him malevolently. Soon his body would be resurrected and he would once again be fit to breach his way into the very earth itself, as well as many other planets.

The flames intensified, and Hell grew a whole lot warmer. Thanatos loved the heat of Hell, and knew that soon everyone in the universe would experience it. Too bad they would be dead.

In the presence of the very essence of evil Thanatos felt himself recover and his tattered wings mended imperfectly. They were scarred but still very, very useful. He flexed his wings and let out a nice sigh of relief at the good feeling.

He jumped up and spread his wings out, hovering above the ground and grinning all the while. It was unfortunate that only Trigon could restore and heal him, but should their plan go well Thanatos would have enough share of the power to regenerate himself.

"You should keep watch on my little girl, she will need to be guided to her path as she will struggle against the corruption. Be wary." Trigon warned. Thanatos landed on the ground and nodded seriously. He knew that Trigon was warning him that Raven had and still can beat him up if she caught him.

Trigon couldn't give him the power he needed as the once all-powerful demon now only had enough power to keep him from fading away. Thanatos had to be careful. But not too careful, after all Thanatos was immortal and would not die unless Trigon himself were to be slain.

Thanatos bowed once again and started to leave the room. However he froze in place when a strange force stopped him in his tracks.

"Don't think you can leave without me dismissing you, Thanatos," Trigon scolded him. A prickle of irritation flashed in Thanatos's mind, he was not some small child.

"I am sorry Trigon, I thought I was dismissed," Thanatos answered apologetically.

"Well don't assume so, now you are," Trigon officially dismissed him so Thanatos continued walking out. After he left the room he jumped up and started flying through hell. He observed the landscape as he always did when leaving.

Flame lashed across the landscape as the many fire elementals hovered around near the ground and lava. There was no grass or anything living, only hot red and scorched black stone to walk on. There was no water either but pools of searing lava. And to think soon everywhere would be like this! The thought filled Thanatos with excitement and he moved quickly and beat his wings heavily in anticipation.

In the room a rough chuckling echoed out across the wasted caverns of Hell as Trigon also waited in anticipation. The eyes in the wall blinked a few times and then closed as Trigon fell back into a sleep.

Thanatos would arrive when Raven was ready, and when Raven was ready they would begin the next step of the plan. There was nothing Trigon could do but wait and sleep without a body or the ability to leave the room. But that wouldn't matter soon. How things would finally come together hmmm? Hehehe.
