"Beast Boy..." Raven blinked open her eyes. A heavy weight lay along near her legs. It was uncomfortable, yet soothing at the same time. When she tried to look closer all she saw was a blurry green shape rising and falling softly. Raven curiously waited for her vision to clear to see Beast Boy laying there his head was on her legs and though he was still on the chair, and asleep. Irritation flickered through her but melted away when she saw the peaceful expression he was wearing. After the weariness and concern he had been looking at her with these past few weeks, seeing him like this made her kind of... Happy.
His hand was lightly but firmly holding Raven's which surprised her. Why was Beast Boy, whom she had treated so coldly, sleeping on her and holding her hand? Had he been here all night?
"Ohhh! I think he likes you Raven!" Happy whispered in Raven's mind, while embarrassed heat flooded Raven. Raven decided she didn't want to bother him by withdrawing her hand, and moved her other hand to his head. She played with his short green hair, brushing through it with her small hand. It was soft like a kitten's fur.
He smiled a little and made a small rumbling sound that was akin to a purr. Beast Boy was just like a little kitten when he slept! Raven could laugh at the thought. She tried to move her legs but underneath Beast Boy's weight it was impossible. Her legs must have fallen asleep from the lack of circulation. Raven sighed and tried to gently push her off but didn't succeed. And despite the irritation she should have felt, she actually smiled. He didn't do anything, just continued to sleep away and purr.
"Beast Boy?" Raven started slowly, in a quiet tone. She contrasted her soft words with a huge shove in an attempt to wake him up and get him off her. He stirred a little and started sitting back up. Sighing with relief as she felt circulation return to her blood-deprived legs. He yawned and groggily opened his eyes. He looked at her and blinked once in confusion. Then he realized what he had done. As recognition entered his eyes panic joined them and his forest-green eyes widened. Raven held back a chuckle but the corners of her mouth pulled upward in a smile.
"Rae, i'm so sorry!" He stammered but Raven just shrugged.
"Beast Boy, it's fine. Have you been here all night?" Inquired Raven in a soft voice. She looked up into his eyes and their gazes locked together.
"Umm... Yeah, I have... I was worried, that's all" he spoke mildly as if speaking too loudly would upset her. So he had been waiting all night for me!
"Oh, thanks Beast Boy," Raven muttered back, unsure of herself. "What happened after I passed out? Did you guys capture Thanatos?"
Beast Boy's eyes narrowed when Raven mentioned Thanatos. "No, we never got to. He fled right before you collapsed and disappeared." The dark tone in his voice worried Raven and her eyes widened in surprise.
"So, why did you worry about me so much? And don't tell me the rest of the team is the same way, I don't see them falling asleep on me," Raven finished dryly. Beast Boy smiled nervously and looked downward, a slight blush turning his cheeks into a brown.
"Well you seem umm... I kinda li-"
"Friend Raven you are well!" The cheery voice of a familiar alien friend alerted Beast Boy and Raven that they were no longer alone. Raven looked at the doorway and saw Starfire standing there with sparkling eyes.
"Umm... Hi Star," Raven gave Starfire a small wave.
"I am glad to see that you are awake and feeling better friend Raven, friend Beast Boy has not left the sick bay since we brought you back here!" Starfire rushed to hug her friends but Beast Boy shook his head in panic and Raven gestured frantically not to so she stopped as quickly as she lunged.
"Oh, is that so?" Raven looked and Beast Boy with an eyebrow raised and he blushed even harder. So much for hearing what he has to say. "How long have I been out?" Raven asked her two teammates.
"Just since last night, but you had multiple bruises. Cyborg said for you to relax for awhile." Beast Boy explained, and Raven nodded. "By the way Raven" Beast Boy continued, "Do you have any idea who that Thanatos guy is?"
Raven shook her head and looked down, thoughtful. She thought it over for a few minutes then looked up at Beast Boy's and Starfire's curious expressions.
"I don't know exactly who Thanatos is, but I sensed that he had the same essence as my father." This seemed to stun them, for they just stood there and started at her with gaping mouths.
"I don't really like the sound of that, but looks like we will have to deal with it anyway," Said a voice that was just as monotonous as hers often became. Raven rolled her eyes.
"Get in here Robin, eavesdropping on us does no good. Especially if we already know your presence is here." Raven answered in her own signature monotone.
Robin stepped in with a thoughtful expression on his face, it was obvious he was already planning a future fight. He didn't even appear to be worried about her, though Raven could feel the worry and turmoil that his face hid. Starfire floated over to him and gave him a big huge, ignoring his plaintive mood.
"Friend Raven is awake, isn't that great friend Robin!" Starfire asked him happily while he just gave her a confused look. Raven looked around for the one member that wasn't around, the only one that was missing was-
"Yo Raven! You're awake!" Cyborg came through the door next, smiling at her with a relieved expression.
"Oh look, now they are all here. Goody goody," Rage muttered in an annoyed tone. For once Raven could sympathize with her dark emoticlone. Raven put up a deadpan expression.
"Hey Cyborg, now can I please leave this pathetic bed and get some tea?" She asked them in a bored tone. Robin eyed her but said nothing, and Raven knew he saw through her.
"Ya appear to be fine Rae, go ahead. Just take it easy for the next week." Cyborg was checking the information on her health over the night and besides small healing and complete rest, she could actually be much worse, mentally instead of physically.
Raven started to get up, wincing slightly as the soreness of her previous fight hit her for the first time since she woke up. Beast Boy learned forward slightly to help her but a glare by Raven stopped him. A small sigh escaped her. Can't be that bad if I am able to walk.
She moved as quickly as she could without too much pain, now that everything was over she had to meditate over this Thanatos person, and what his presence meant. Uneasiness filled her stomach and she shivered slightly.
"Great Azar... What does this mean?"
